Great stay
Good stay, new property. I liked the touchscreen switches in the room
Good accommodation on MI road
We stayed at the Golden Tulip Essential for 2 nights during our holidays in India. Overall, it's a good value for money and the service is good. We were initially given a quite noisy room that was on the lower floors and almost facing the busy MI road, but when we pointed that out, we were politely offered another room on the higher floors further in the back, so we had a good sleep. The room was modern and spacious, and the breakfast was decent. Overall, good stay and good value-for-money accommodation.
Extremely disappointing hotel....
A number of things really annoyed me that I think anyone considering booking at this hotel should know about. I was never able to take a hot shower during my entire 3 night stay. The water temperate ranged from Luke-warm to cold. The water drips down, making it so difficult to shower quickly. The WiFi, which only provides very little bandwidth before “expiring”, thus I found myself constantly at the front desk or calling them to get a new username and password. I would go through 8-10 username and passwords a day, each time asking for it. I wanted to eat at the restaurant and when I walked in I asked to see the menu to see if anything looks appealing to me before I sat down. With a perplexed look on the restaurant attendants face he told me there is no need and to please help myself to the complimentary dinner buffet they had. So I said okay and proceeded to eat. At the end I’m asked for my room number and within a few seconds presented with a bill for the dinner that was to be “complimentary”. Checkout also proved to be equally troubling. They had another hotel guests credit card authorization on file with my room number and passport attached. It was unbelievable. Repeatedly I told them I don’t have a VISA card ending in the numbers they showed me and they I also never provided them with a credit card. I had prepaid on Expedia. They didn’t believe me and asked me to email them a copy of the Expedia receipt, which I did right there and then.
Nothing unique. Just a bed for the night.
