While this property is in a great ocean front location the architecture of property did not utilize the view well, No windows on an ocean front room, have to be on balcony to see view. For a short stay this property is good, it is very clean and staff tries to be helpful.

Loved it was on the beach. There was no beach chairs. Dining was a buy your own groceries and we will cook.

A place to rest your head. Limited food options.

I liked the secluded location and the big airy and clean room. I did not like the general upkeep of the building and the grounds. Also, there was no hot water, but that did not really bother me since I prefer to bath in cold water. For heaven's sake, why are you serving instant coffee with breakfast. The bloody motel is located where Blue Mountain Coffee is produced. Buy a coffee machine.

It’s kind of ok

The staff have no people skills, and it’s dirty and dingy. I couldn’t even stay in my room. I left and went to another hotel.

Love it

I like the fact that the Resort is in a quiet location near the sea and beautiful surroundings. However the gateway needs some working on. What I don't like is the noise the room doors make when closing. Overall I enjoyed staying there.

Cozy for shower and sleeping. Unaware of extra cost for breakfast. Staff not friendly not smiling much. We were out most of time.

Our experience was terrible.

The property was nice! Loved the fact that it sits on the beach and you can access the beach from the property. The hotel staff was nice and helpful. My only complaint is that I didn’t receive the ocean front room I reserved and the cable tv was spotty. Other than that It was a great stay and I would stay again.

Room 39 was terrible. No shower head. Leaks in AC and roof. Would not recommend it nor would any member of our party stay there under the present conditions.

HORRIBLE! BUYER BEWARE!

I booked this trip over a month in advance. Upon arriving, we were told that we had no reservation and had to produce information. I did. We were placed in a small double room and made to pay a PREMIER room price. The next day we had to discuss with the owner the same info. She eventually changed our room to a PREMIER room which had been booked. We were givenburned breakfast. She stated that it looked substandard and not consumable and gave us a free Jamaican breakfast for the next day. THEN upon checkout, I had given all information and payment to Hotels.com. They had no clue about payment. Then said that I owed them again. Their machine would not work so they wanted to "follow me to a bank to get money." I was made late for my flight due to this and the FINAL STRAW WAS THAT WE WERE MADE TO PAY THE SAME RATE FOR A DOUBLE ROOM from the 1st night AS FOR A PREMIER ROOM. We were told, "the double room has two beds so it costs more than the premier room." Even though the PREMIER room was to face the ocean and have a King size bed. They did all of this as I was checking out & made late for my flight. They told me, "You can make your flight. They only tell you to arrive early just in case, not that you must." At this point, I had less than an hour to get from St. Thomas to Kingston & on a flight to the US bc the internet would not work. A guy came pedaling in to slowly fix the internet. I was still made to pay full PREMIER PRICE for a double. No one ever answers when you call

Good facility,poor management

My displeasure is with the lack of any maintenance on the property, especially flower beds, edgings and also the paved areas. It would appear as if at some point the management has given up hence the facility is running into the ground. The room was sparsely furnished and with only one chair for a Double Occupancy. Pillows were flat, bed linen and towels were inadequate. Hot water took too long to come on and most importantly, there was no Internet connection. I had to go two miles to get cash in order to pay my bills. And although there was Cable available, most of the channels did not work. This is a nice location but need management to bring it back to better days.

Golden Shores is just average if you want somewhere to lay your head for the night. The place was deserted I think we were the only guests staying there. Breakfast was a table in the middle of a room. A lady came out and said she could make a Jamaican breakfast and it would be ready in 20 minutes but we declined. We went in to Morant Bay and had a great breakfast at Robbie’s We gave the staff some clothes to wash which came back rough and smelling of bleach, my brand new tracksuit had bleach stains all over it. The mat in the bathroom had seen better days it had bleach stains all over it.

It was very bare and basic, no pictures on the wall, just one room with a table and 1chair. It was very strange

Toilet bowl was not clean. TV in room did not work and when asked for it to be fixed was told the person who rented the room to me should have checked the room. No attempt was made to resolve the issue. The kitchen, dining room looked like a school canteen, not inviting. Wifi connection was spotty. Will not be staying here again.

Great view of the ocean but beach area is not the best. Road leading from the main road to the hotel need to better maintained. Breakfast including omelettes, pancake scrambled eggs should be added to the menu

Rooms were large and clean, fit our purpose. Lovely balcony view and also loved the easy access to the beach area. Good breakfast for a reasonable fee. Will be our first choice to stay here every time we come to St Thomas!

I didn't like the fact that they post 24 hrs access and we got there at 12 and were locked out. We had to book another hotel for night. Be honest about the service if it's 12 hours say 12 not 24

The sound of the waves is what keeps me going back i love it

I like the view of the ocean and the beach. The road to come inside the property needs to be better, also a paint job would give the place a nice fresh look.

The first thing I saw was the dirty stairs with dead bugs which remained there for the 4 days I was there with my daughter....a real eyesore. Its a nice place but seems to lack good management. There was no chef and no food as they advertised. However the rooms were clean and spacious, and towels, sheets and soap provided and changed as needed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I would love to return when its better managed. Was also very disappointed that they advertised a shuttle bus and sport bar available, but no such thing. The main thing I loved was the very calm and beautiful ocean view. Cynthia & Michelle Miller, Florida, USA

I like the friendly staff The main road leading off to the hotel is under construction, making driving uncomfortable.

Dissapointed

Was really looking forwards to my stay however was dissapponted at the standard of the hotel. This was very basic and lacked attention to details.

Affordable, just needs a bit done.

Pricing is affordable and the view is great. Towels were dirty. Beds had marks on. Shower was intermittent at times. Wifi doesnt work. Amenities had to be requested. No facilities to make tea or coffee. No onsite restaurant info. No chairs in the rooms. The communal ironing area is not convenient.

I loved the view and the room was clean. No coffee or breakfast being offered and the shower did not work.

Okay hotel

This hotel was pretty good for the price. I loved the view of the ocean from the room. The lady that checked us in was pleasant. The room was missing a few amenities like a heavy blanket, soap, and washrags but they did provide towels. The iron and board were in the hall... I guess it was a community amenity thank God for my cousin's steamer. Would I stay here again? Yes. It's a convenient stay to visit my friends and family.

nice quiet and relaxing

It was very quiet and calm and it had the beach behind where you could look at or hear the sound. What i didnt like was the cleaning staff took long before they cleaned my room the towels that i got where nasty and disgusting. And since i have been there they only issued one toilet tissue to my room. I had to purchase another.

Tranquillity, laid back atmosphere. Needs more tour information and amenities.

I like that the staff was friendly and responded quickly, easy access to the beach. I would like to see a breakfast, lunch menu even if it’s limited, provide 1 complimentary bottle water and charge for the second, arrange small entertainment for guests, pool table or table tennis.

Staff was awesome. I had a great stay. It was quiet and relaxing.

I liked the rooms attached to the main building the rooms that are not attached to the main building need to be updated they are old and i wouldnt stay there if all rooms looked like that

The location was and beautiful. However, for the price paid, there could have bee more options for breakfast, such as fresh brewed coffee and cream and fruit. Staff was not very friendly and welcoming.
