Lovely experience.

I don’t normally review hotels unless they are outstanding and this hotel was. Amazingly large room just outside main hotel. Ordered food to take back to room and couldn’t fault it. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Nice breakfast too. Would recommend and definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Lovely staff but poor cleanliness

Stayed for one night. The room was for 3 and spacious. However, cleanliness was terrible. Dust and hair everywhere and the bath and toilet were not clean. We had booked breakfast for Sunday morning but had to leave by 8 and were told that breakfast was only served at 9! However, they did offer to and packed us sandwiches for breakfast but delivered them to our room including ham sandwiches on Sat night at 10pm and we don’t have a fridge and it was summer. So unfortunately the sandwiches went in the bin the next day. The staff were polite but the hotel’s standards especially cleanliness were poor. And not serving breakfast before 9am is pretty poor for a hotel.

The grounds of the hotel were well kept and the garden was pretty. There was plenty of parking. The reception and dinning area was clean and tidy. I liked that you could choose to eat in the restaurant as a more formal option but there was also the bar area which was more relaxed and had a good atmosphere. We ate dinner twice and both times the food was delicious. Breakfast was included with the room and there were several options including a cooked breakfast. I enjoyed the scrambled egg on toast. We were in room 7. The room was small but we were only staying for a couple of days and was suitable for our needs. The bathroom had a sliding door so did not close fully and no window which was unfortunately causing some mould in places. The door to the room needed a firm push to close it. There was what looked like a water mark on the wall where there must have been a leak at some time. That said this part of the hotel is within an old building and the hotel has used the space as best possible. This room is above the hotel’s recycling bin store, there was no bad smells and the staff were not particularly noisy when using this area and we had the window open. The room was clean and tidy but just a little tired. I noticed the hotel was upgrading rooms and maybe this room is on the list. When we left, housekeeping was in the room opposite (no. 8) and it looked much bigger and generally nicer. Overall, I would stay again and all the staff were excellent.

The owners and staff were so kind, the atmosphere was cozy like a home (even though it was a hotel). The breakfast foods were abundant and high quality, with the option to have a deliciously made Scottish breakfast cooked to order. The owners even went out of their way to obtain non-dairy milk just for me! The electric drying rack in the room was handy when washing out a few items of clothing during the week. The beds were super comfortable. Sat TV temporarily wasn't working while I was there, but I wasn't in Scotland to watch TV anyway. The hotel grounds were lovely and close to a beautiful walking path. Highly recommend!!

comfortable stay

Comfortable and clean; nice location near the Campsies. The conservatory/breakfast room looked nice but we did not eat here as were attending a family reunion; next time will try it. Couple wee things; no instructions in our room for the electric shower so took time to work it out; also first morning no hot water in bathroom sink but working again that evening. Very friendly and helpful gentleman on reception when we checked in

A wonderful family run Hotel.

I stayed for three nights with breakfast and had dinner each night. This is truly a “traditional” family run hotel where the standard set by the owners is nothing short of excellent. From the moment I checked in until the day I checked out I was made to feel more than a ‘guest’. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the on-suit bathroom perfectly proportioned and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was one of the best that I have had ANYWHERE and puts many 4-Star hotels to shame. The cooked breakfast is made to order and beautifully presented without a trace of grease on the plate. Cereals, fresh fruit, and fruit juice with an array of breakfast bars are available, together with preserves and marmalade. Toast is served and not just bog-standard bread. I had brown ‘seeded’ break, perfectly toasted. Tea was served in a proper tea pot and coffee freshly brewed. The staff at dinner were genuinely friendly and they were attentive without being ‘on your shoulder’ all the time. And the food was excellent and again, freshly cooked to order. All in all, I left feeling that my stay was as near to a perfect stay as possible. THANK YOU ALL.

We had a very pleasant stay in the Glazert Hotel. Staff were very friendly and food was excellent. Outstanding staff, lovely lodging

We can’t say enough good things about this hotel! The staff were extraordinarily helpful and friendly with every single interaction. They helped us figure out baggage transfer to the next hotel, packed us a light breakfast the night before our early departure, and served the most perfect tea and scone and other quite delicious food. The mushroom bruschetta, chicken pot pie, and vegetable skewers were also outstanding. The spicy bean burrito was a bit too cheesy for our taste. The prime location is right on the John Muir Way and has only a few rooms. Many guests enjoyed the garden with picnic tables. It’s on a creek right in Lennoxtown, so convenient to local shops. Since we were on the first floor, we didn’t feel comfortable leave our window open at night because someone could reach in and unlock the door. Luckily the heat wave was loosening its grip, so the room was comfortable with the fan we borrowed from the front desk. No one is at the front desk until 9 AM, but the staff made baggage/breakfast work so it was no trouble at all. The price was quite good compared to similar hotels on our journey.

Not the best

My husband and I were disappointed with our stay at the Glazert. According to its website it's a wedding venue, so we were expecting something nice, but it was quite basic. Our room was outside which is difficult in the Glasgow weather going back and forth into the main part of the hotel. The breakfast was less than average. There was not much selection in terms of either hot or cold items. I ended up having toast, which is strange given the many lovely breakfasts we experienced in other hotels in Scotland. We also appeared to be the only people in the hotel.

This was the best hotel we stayed at when walking a week along the John Muir Way across the central belt of Scotland. Tired at the end of a long day of walking, we found the staff incredibly helpful and accommodating - the service was simply wonderful. Set is colorful gardens, the room in this small hotel was quite comfortable and the massage shower most welcome for a tired body.
