Let some start off by saying the hotel is beautiful and most of the staff is extremely friendly. My room was a nice size and had everything I needed. The rain shower was awesome. It had amazing pressure and was the best feature in my room hands down. The continental breakfast was delicious, they provided a great assortment of fresh fruits along with cooked foods like scrambled eggs, fried plantains and sausage, just to name a few. The only reason for the 4 star rating is due to their guest policy. If you have a guest that does not reside at the hotel, they are not allowed to enter your room. You must visit in the outdoor atrium. The staff stated the reason for this policy is due to the high level of prostitution and sex trafficking in the country so they are doing their part to help fight against that. I do understand the rule, however, I think it’s silly to implement it at 12 noon when my best friend and her niece came over due to a power outage in the area that affected the home they were staying in. This is the only thing I would encourage them to review and make a change.

The property was a long hot walk from the clock tower but only a few blocks from the Getsemani murals, lively streets and restaurants. We had a duplex that was worn and smelled a little of old water. For some reason we had no phone in our 1st room. Water dripped from the light fixture into the bed the first night. The light fixtured flickered and looked like a small flame. We were moved to and upgraded duplex eventhough the staff was suggesting it just for the night. The sheets in the new room had to be changed right away. About three days later during a rain storm, water began to leak into the new room onto the bed, floor, near light fixture and in corner. We were moved to a smaller duplex. Downgraded. There was writing on the bathroom wall, the bed covers were dirty and the plumbing was leaking. Expedia gave us a couple hundred back to change hotel for our last 2 days. We had to add our own money to get a decent hotel. Not the best experience. And on our way out the staff tried to claim we ate from the mini bar but dropped it with our protest. One other thing tried to pay for 3 lemonado de cocos on day 2. Their card reader in the rooftop bar wasn't working so by the time we left the price changed. So pay right away if you can. The staff had no attitudes and tried THEIR best well except the last lady at the front desk who gave no eye contact and seemed mad when we left early. But the whole time NO APOLOGY. Not one.

This hotel was better than I’d even hoped! Our duplex room had 2 washrooms, which was an extremely pleasant surprise. The property is clean, the food is delicious, the breakfast well-stocked with plenty of variety, and the staff are amazing. They are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help. There are some odd things about the property (elevator is a little finnicky, keycard didn’t always work the first time, some lights wouldn’t turn on), but nothing that impacted the quality of our stay at all. It can get a little loud with party buses driving by at night, so consider bringing earplugs. I’d highly recommend this property, and would stay again if I went back to Cartagena!

My stay was for a week and I appreciated the staff who recognized me and made me feel appreciated. The breakfast included was lovely and the pool bar staff very friendly and agreeable. The location is great for getting around Cartagena for shopping or going to see attractions.

Cartagena as a vibrant city can be very noisy, but this hotel is located in a quiet area -still walkable distance to the main attractions- that is much appreciated. Please keep in mind that the building is very old and amazingly well kept; however, our room had a roof water leak. Other than that, the staying was perfect.

On our first night of 4 - the door lock broke and left us locked in our room for almost 2 hours. We kept calling the reception who evebtually realised the issue and staff had to climb into our room via balcony and take the lock apart and put a new one in. Our children found this quite scary and upsetting. I complained several times to re eption about the situation and had to plead woth them to provide food and drink for our children. There was no apology from hotel mangement or anythjng to make up for the issue. They eventually provided a meal for the children but jothing more. Pretty awful hotel management. The rest of the staff were very pleasant however and friendly. Aside from this rest of the hotel services were good but the experiende left a sour taste. Breakfast was good.

Disappointing experience, this isn’t a 5 or 4 star property more like a 3 or 2 star hotel gave us their worst room, in the building. I know we have booked their classic room but what they gave us wasn’t a classic room at all! All the classic rooms photos on Expedia has window but our room was a courtyard without window - basically i felt bamboozled by what i booked on expedia. - note to future guest, if hotel gives you the 217-1 room ask straightaway to other room! Entering inside room - you can’t control de AC temperature only on and off with the temperature setup for 16 degrees (freezing), all the wall were with black marks from suitcase and other stuff. All sockets were or broken or hanging from wall! No shower gel in bathroom, the hairdryer was proper for an cheap hostel A lot of noise from above, they have a deck on 3rd floor where is the bar that is just above our room so all noise comes to us, also i believe some of the swimming pool pipes past in the room ceiling so you can hear that noise all night. The minibar was older than my grandmother so i had to turn if off, i was feeling i was inside an aquarium The phone didn’t work! Next morning i went downstairs stairs to reception and mentioning the broken phone what reception told me “the phone is on mantenance it doesn’t work…” so if there was a fire… Reception only wanted to know if you wanted a tour if not they didn’t say hello to you! Marlom the bellboy was the only friendly staff

This was the sketchiest check in with staff that was smirking and whispering when we got there. The room made a motel 6 look like a 5 star. It was FILTHY and I felt so unsafe we left after 5 minutes of arriving.

This is our second time staying and we are not regretting it. Hotel is clean, good is very good, great location. The best abs also the reason we came back is service ! I loved the little balcony with the flowers, breakfast was grated fresh fruit drinks at the bar. They really need to up date their linen you can tell its old and had lots of stains towels, sheets out with the old in with some new other than that i had a wonderful stay very friendly staff

They upgraded our room without asking. For our surprise the room has 2 floors. A full bathroom was on the second floor and 1/2 bathroom was on the first floor. We have to climb a stiff stair to get to the full bath. We are 63 and 65 years old with heart conditions and this stairs made our stay not very comfortable, specially because we didn't ask for an upgrade.

All the staff got us a profesional and nice service.

This hotel is fine, however we were made to wait nearly 2 hours past check in for the room to be ready. The staff told us we could go to the bar for “welcome drinks” while we waited for the room, which we were then charged for upon checkout. Other than that, fairly irksome turn of events, the hotel was fine, 1 star experience, 3 stars facilities (it was clean, comfortable, etc, but missing niceties that elevate to the higher level). Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel.

Upon arrival, the front desk welcomed me warmly and assisted me immediately! The property itself is so quiet & cozy. The shower pressure was much appreciated with a bed that I comfortably melted into. The room is very well kept 😍 It is also located within walking distance to the Walled City but far enough for peace & quiet! Highly recommended 😍

Was easy walking distance from everything i wanted to see. Because of covid I am guessing, the breakfast was pretty lame. However, overall, I love this hotel, location, staff, value, and would definitely stay again.

We arrived at the hotel and there was no running water which they said they were working on fixing and it would be 20 minutes. We returned from dinner and still no running water and they said 10 more minutes. 2 hours later and now 9pm, still no running water in the entire hotel. They offered us a waterbottle and laughed when we asked how we were supposed to shower after a long travel day. So not only did we not have any running water, the staff were extremely rude. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had and we had to book another hotel because they weren't sure if they would have water at all until the next day which is inexcusable for a 5 star hotel.

This property is not well taken care of in any capacity. While it is at a great location, the rooms were dirty, phone was not working, towels were dirty and I got under my sheets and noticed how soiled and disgusting they were. After I notified, the front desk, the staff member was very rude and mind you, there was limited language barrier because I speak some Spanish. Later on, Rafael, another colleague came to my room to give me new towels and change the sheets. Those towels were also dingy and they did not have a new comforter for me, just a blanket. He was kind enough to move me to a large suite but the suite I was placed in was dusty, not clean, no water pressure and very hot. It was already 12am at this time so I just stayed in the room because I was exhausted. This was such a sad experience for me. Upon checkout, I got food to go from the restaurant and after a 40 minute wait, they gave me my hot food in tin-foil.

El hotel muy lindo y acogedor , el personal muy atento y con muy buena actitud , la única parte fue que el día que nos íbamos nos cobrabron un promedio de 36 dólares por consumo del mini bar , lo gracioso es que no tenía ninguna información que lo que se consumía en el minibar en la habitación había que pagar eso me pareció como una trampa , so al final eso no me gusto pienso que tienen que infórmale al huésped que cobran por consumir en la habitación ……

Great value for your money: I paid less the $60,- and the place is first class but ….. during breakfast in the patio we were pestered by crows who were trying to pick the food from your plate and the staff did not do anything to prevent this : very unhygienic. A simple bird prevention shiny tape or fake owls will take care of this . I only hope that management read this because this is a big issue

The overall property was great. It has a central location, that you can walk out of, and find restaurants, architecture, fresh fruit, and shopping. The alley-ways can seem intimidating, but they are filled with bars/ restaurants. The free breakfast was awesome. It was was only a $5 ride from the airport, and a $10 ride to bocagrande. It has hot water, unlike some hotels. There is a small market, cafe, and laundry mat literally across the street. Great place to stay.

This hotel is beautiful Beautiful view from roof top, a nice pool. The service is amazing! The rooms so confortable so pretty and clean. Close to getsemany. A nice walk to the walled touristic areas of the old city. Location is perfect , is quiet, safe walks, close to park to exercise. Nice breakfast, but mostly love how nice and polite and educated the employees are . Will be coming back always.

I will stay again

I discovered this hotel by accident because the other hotel nearby went out of business. The rooms are huge with King Size beds. There is a rooftop bar and swimming pool that is really nice as well. The apartment is a total luxury and it is with close proximity to all the major attractions in town.

We had a wonderful weekend getaway here! Took advantage of the spa services and rooftop pool and were very happy with the quality of everything especially the compliments breakfast!Walkable to all of the Old City as well. We highly recommend this hotel!

Loved the neighborhood this property is located in, and the lush inner courtyard and rooftop patio. Didn't like that some rooms have no view (including ours) and few windows so very dark, and that it is on a busy road and party busses go by all night.

When I checked in I wanted to add someone to the reservation and they tried to charge me double for my stay even though I already booked a 2 bedroom. If you go on Expedia and change the number of people staying in the room the price doesn’t change. They were really trying to scam me and I had a bad experience which made me not want to stay there. Fortunately it was only 1 night. The water glasses in the lobby are also dirty and the staff doesn’t clean up the glasses that guests leave behind. Not a good look.

The property is very well kept and has a charm about it, it is very close and walking distance to the clock tower which is the center of town, very modern feel yet historic feel, the third floor pool/bar has an amazing view of the water and boca grande skyline. Very great value for your money!

Our AC leaked into the room making it unsafe to walk.

Well located to many restaurants and rhe ciudad amurallada. Very friendly staff. We requested a change of room to one with more outside light and the manager approved it. Everyone extremely nice.

Location was pretty good. Next to Getsemini which is hip neighborhood and still within walking (15min) distance to old town. Checkin difficult first told we had no room but were accommodating by serving us Lunch on the house while we waited for them to sort it out. Room cleaning- never changed towels unless they were left on floor. Never had enough toilet paper. They were helpful when we asked them to adjust air con, and "fixed" bathroom outlet only for it to not work the next day. Pool was good. Not many people using the bar/pool upstairs anyway so the little time we did spend up there it was fine.

Nice and pretty hotel and good area. Most things are within walking distance. The dining staff was very friendly and very servicial. We enjoyed our interactions with them. The one day we had to call because room service did not come. The noise of the main road was a little disrupting at times. When they have events, it disrupts the stay of the guests. There was a wedding and all morning the pool area was disrupted to prepare for the event and the noise in the evening was not respectful to the guests. I HIGHLY recommend putting any valuables in the safe; I bought a phone accessory that was new and unopened and unfortunately found the seal broken and the product not in the box. I trusted that my items would be respected and they weren’t; but it was my fault for trusting that my things wouldn’t be stolen. It was a nice stay, however discovering something small was stolen was a downer on our trip and leaves a poor impression of the staff and hotel.
