We had a lovely two night stay. Everything was clean and tidy. Felt very homely and would stay there again . Highly recommend the place.

Very comfortable accommodation in the Boronia Chalet. Kitchen well equipped and really appreciated the daily breakfast supplies included in our package. Beds very comfortable and great views across the harbor and it was lovely to see the pademelons come across our lawn each day. Great customer service by the owners as well as the cleaning lady. Only negative is the shower being over the bath which doesn’t cater for those with limited mobility. It would better to just have a walk in shower. Additional outdoor chairs would also be great to accomodate when more than 2 guests staying. Apart from this we had a great time staying at the GG and would recommend.

Liked free laundry facilities

The A frame cottage is situated on a hill overlooking Macquarie Harbour, with stunning views from the lounge and bedroom windows over to the town. the cottage had everything we needed for a home away from home. With many eating and tourist attractions close by, we spent four days and three nights touring the area, could’ve happy spent longer.

Lovely self contained, clean and tidy room in great location. The addition of fresh milk and a few breakfast staples was a definite bonus!

Best views in Strahan

We stayed in a chalet that provided a lovely atmosphere with nice water views. Car parking was directly outside the chalet. The kitchenette was very well stocked with cooking items for such a small place. Check-in was non-contact but communication was very good.

Reviews reflect this property as 4 stars. Should be 3 stars. Has nice outlook over river. Gutters were badly overflowing, decor a bit dated. Blanket grubby, no mattress protector on single bed. No split system a/c. Gift basket was nice touch. Reception area not in use and was a total mess, gave an unprofessional feel to hotel.

First impression was very disappointing. Reception area was dirty and messy. The room had an unpleasant smell and the balcony and outdoor furniture was dirty. Bed was comfortable. View was nice. No real hanging space. The room was spacious and the bathroom was lovely

Fabulous view over Macquarie Harbour. Lovely and quiet, nestled in among the trees, well away from the road. Staff very helpful.

We got the best room at the property- The Loft - with amazing view! The room was very spacious and clean!

Simple but elegant fit out, very very comfortable, the bed was so comfy, i could have stayed in it all day. Would definitely come here again.

We had a lovely stay at the chalet in Strahan, just take care in the A frame shape as we both got injured from bumping our head hard and my shoulder.

Boronia Cottage was lovely. Neat and tidy inside. Hosts were great and so was their puppy! Easy, good communication and payment. Outside property could use a clean up but good overall. Thanks for the stay.

We very much enjoyed a warm welcome to the property and the generous basket of complimentary breakfast goodies daily including very thoughtful Easter chocolates for us all on Easter Sunday. Our room was very clean and comfortable and our children really enjoyed the resident pets! Thanks for a lovely stay.

Great overnight stay

Lovely family run property, super friendly owner and staff. Looks like there is some ongoing renovations happening in the “suites” building (no impact on our stay). Loved the spa, especially loved the welcome breakfast amenities which were renewed each day. Great situation with views across the cove to the township, wonderful to see the river cruise boats leave and arrive. Easy 20-25 min walk into town for meals and river cruises, 10-15 min walk to the wilderness train station. Small kitchenette with microwave and access to BBQ for home meal preparation, the only sink for washing up is the vanity. We would certainly recommend GG’s and would stay there again.

Very comfy stay!

Very nice location, the property staff kept us informed before check-in, which made it much easier. We received a package each day which included breakfast cereals, chocolate, chips and a mini bottle of rose! Very friendly staff with a cute cat!

Our room was very clean and tidy and had lots of room and very well appointed with kitchen utensils and amenities to cook if we wanted. It was very comfortable. The only thing lacking was there was no available wifi in our room but it was available if we sat in the reception area.

Absolutely beautiful view from our room, the bird life is abundant. A quick easy transaction from start to finish. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The cost of the room was great considering the view! Would definitely stay again.

Harbor view in Strahan

This is a great family business .Our upstairs room had a view of the harbor, with a comfortable bed, spa bath and a microwave.auoplies were replenished everyday.Complimentaryvtreats of Australian produce plus a small bottle of bubbles for the spa bath were a nice touch.Highly recommended. It was up a hill about 5minutes drive from central esplanade.

Free use of the laundry facilities and breakfast supplies included were lovely extra touches.

The room was clean. Nice views of the harbour. Advertised as two bedroom, really should be one bedroom and main bed in the living area. One lounge chair for four people, plus three stools up to the bench which also had the tv etc. Room was warm. Kitchenette is really just a microwave and bar fridge.

Everything excellent. Nice and quiet, cosy, warm heater, clean, etc.

Luxury getaway

The Lovers' Loft is beautifully decorated with a great view from the deck and is surrounded by a lovely garden. The welcome basket and port added a special touch. We were sent a message with arrival instructions which was very helpful.

Basic A frame property. Nice and clean and the breakfast pack was a nice touch. We arrived late and the after hours key collection instructions were confusing but once that was sorted we were okay. There is no door on the main bed which made it a little awkward but we coped! Reasonably located to town

The staff on reception are really helpful. We recommend this place, well maintained rooms close to everything.

Thé Outlook. The scenery was lovely . The room was very clean. It is a little outdated. But saying that the price was affordable. Enjoyed our stay, the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Can’t speak more highly about Tia and her customer service. Very friendly, welcoming and never without a smile on her face.

The location is great and convenient. The reception staff outstanding and extremely helpful. However, the GG has no concept of room cleaning apart from putting in fresh towels and emptying garbage, they don’t touch anything - bed, crockery, cutlery- all remain untouched or even put in place. This is offered only on request - we needn’t have bothered.

Quiet, nice setting, great location, friendly staff

The place is great, with a beautiful view, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Finding it is a bit tricky as there appears to have been some slight changes to the name and it's hard to be sure that you're heading to the right spot. But once you're there it's really enjoyable.

They offer breakfast, very nice. And offer alcohol for tasting, and offer board games and more for entertaining. And all the above is free.

Views of Strahan incl harbour, township, boats & rain were very pleasant

Clean, comfy beds. Great to have access to a laundry. Tv was tiny ... smaller than my home computer monitor. 4 people crowding around it to watch the cricket was ridiculous. My biggest gripe is that our room was Not serviced (we were out all day), and no fresh towels were provided. On speaking with reception they forgot to tell us the Room wasn’t serviced 😡 and they had run out of towels (they ended up getting them from another venue)... really not acceptable for $285 a night.

We were in unit 5. Great rooms but what would make it way better is to make all those units into open sliding doors with chairs outside. Beautiful place.

Very warm welcome from owner at check in and very helpful throughout our stay. Family friendly and owner paid particular attention to talk and interact with our children. Exterior condition of some parts of property in need of a little work but inside our room seemed freshly done.

We absolutely loved our stay. Tamika went above and beyond to make the experience wonderful for our whole family. The kids loved the toys, sports equipment, trampoline and resident doggos Charlie and Cooper! The adults really appreciated whiling the afternoon away on the deck whilst enjoying the complimentary Gin and tonics and champagne! Such a special touch. Thanks again for a fabulous stay!

Great location, very clean and comfortable. Units are a little dated and do need a bit of maintenance, however when brought to their attention the few things were repaired quickly

Really nice place to stay, overlooking Strahan. Was given an upgrade, which was really nice and appreciated. Room was a good size, very clean and had a great balcony to look out over the bay. The property is quite nice, and well maintained, it’s just looking a little tired, in need of a little tlc. I still loved the place, and would defiantly stay there again should I visit Strahan.

Amazing New Owners

We were so grateful for the amazing hospitality of Tam, who did everything to ensure our stay was amazing!

We loved the way we were greeted and welcomed to the property. Our accommodation was excellent and the decking afforded lovely views across to Strahan township. We happily recommend the property. There is a walking path to the township which is handy when catchingt the morning Gordon River boat.

Amazing views of the harbour from the rooms. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. The beds were so comfortable.

Hidden Gem

Love staying at Gordon Gateway Chalets. It is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Although the first night did not have a heater or electric blanket, this was rectified the next day with a heater being provided. Yes, place is older and little run down but I hear that it will be having some updating done shortly. Love the size of the rooms - kitchen (no stove). The view is beautiful and it is a hidden gem. Will be going back to stay as the rates are very reasonable compared to most overpriced rates in Strahan.

Great one night stop over

Good value for money. Location good. Room clean. Not that we needed it - but top bunk hadn't been remade after previous guests. Bonus having a view. Would return.

Nice view out over the harbor. More spacious than expected

The bed was rock hard, very little water pressure meaning we had the worst shower in Tasmania Pretty much the whole place was run down and needing plenty of maintenance
