Really good experience and very satisfied with everything about Generator. Friendly staff, good vibe, clean room, and well located.

Great location and wonderful staff. Breakfast was very good as well.

We ordered a four-beds room but two of them didn’t have completed bed sheets and the others have some uncomfortable odds.

Loved it!

Second time staying here. Good for a no-frills stay. There is no kitchen and luggage storage costs extra (40 SEK / 8 hours). The ensuite bathroom is small and dated but clean. It has a large institutional feel to it, which you may or may not like. The only common area is the ground floor bar.

Lovely stay, reception team were very friendly, especially Diana. Easy to use laundry facilities too which were very helpful for us. Only issue we found was that the lifts were a bit temperamental but wasn’t too bad taking the stairs!

Great hostel

Great hostel, it’s a little off center, but near to public transportation. Hostel is located in nice neighborhood and safe place to stay. Breakfast (extra $) is great.

Not bad for 1 or 2 nights close to train station, quick checkin, when arrived into room there was a weird smell after opening windows for a while it wasn’t as bad , you have no TV but I knew that before I booked.

Clean and convenient. There’s a certain standard set for generator hostels which was met. It was hard to meet other solo travellers though because the hostel was so big

What has Generator become

I am allocated to a dorm bed above someone using a loud breathing aparatus while sleeping. This should violate the rules regarding noise at night. I see other available beds in the same room alone, yet I am told the hostel has no available bed to move to

Terrible night’s sleep

Extremely uncomfortable beds. Made worse by the mattresses being wrapped in a rubber sheet which will make you hot and sweaty and not able to sleep at all.

Only 1 elevator most of the time. Backed up shower drain. Hotel reneged on food/drink promotion for Euro match.

Good location, close to the station. 20 min walk to sightseeing. Room larger than expected. Fresh towels can be requested with the appropriate door sign. Bathroom plumbing was not great

Stayed here to catch the arlanda express for an early morning flight. It’s a really cute hotel and a very short walk to the airport shuttle. The bar downstairs is a vibe. Our stay was quiet and the kids loved the bunk bed. We stayed in a family room so we had our own bathroom. Very close to downtown for shopping and food.

Thanks for being nice & helpful! The soccer games were fun - the special pizza & popcorn too. Some guests from Africa were much too loud.

Perfect location, vibey; awesome bar, food, music. Clean and comfortable.

Great location, walking distance from the train station! The room was clean and comfortable. The hostel had a great common space downstairs with a bar, and many extra amenities. We particularly appreciated the locker storage for our luggage on the last day after we checked out. Would stay here again!

I had a good one night's sleep in the 6 bed female dorm. The bed was nice and comfy and it had two outlets for chargers. I was able to store my luggage nicely in a locked box under the beds. The only minuses were the bathroom in the room which could use some deep cleaning especially to the shower walls that appeared to have a bit of some type of moldy stuff in them and the fact that the building only had two small elevators so often it was faster to just walk to the fifth floor than to wait for the elevator. The staff were super nice during the stay both in the reception and in the bar/restaurant.

Minutes of walking to central station and airport express. Good neighborhood. Helpful staff. No TV or water kettle in room, or hot water for tea or coffee on facility. Need to go to 7 Eleven across the street to get tea/coffee.

The Generator is perfectly located to everything we wanted to do while we were in Stockholm. We were able to walk everywhere. When we didn’t feel like getting out, the Generator had a restaurant with great food and drinks.

Great location in town!

Booked 2 nights, but literally stayed for about 4hrs on the second night due to flight rescheduled. Location is great, not too far to walk from the train station. The bar area seems happening even late at night

Really enjoyed my stay here! For a hostel this is a really really lovely place! Close to everything and clean! Not loud so loved that. Only complaint is the bed was a little hard for my taste but otherwise pleased! Even had a nice view!

A well run establishment. Centrally located. Perfect for a short break-very basic accommodation so if you’re looking for luxury, this is not it! However, if like us you just want a bed for the night with your own bathroom, this place is perfect

NOT a hostel!

They should not advertise themselves as a hostel when they are not. They are hotel with hotel facilities. My friends and I were expecting to be able to cook a little or at least get some hot water.

You best be under 30 years old

We turned up near 12am and were still able to check in and the location is very good, walkable into central Stockholm. The vibe is very unique and hip. The option to pay a little bit to check out at 1pm was most welcome as well. However there were a couple of downsides - I don't know if it's because of the weekend, they had karaoke nights near reception and the music was so loud, I could hear it on the 6th floor and it continued into the early morning. The windows seem to be single glazed so I could hear the street traffic as well. The toilet is on the small side and it's quite weird as a customer having to put bed sheet on the mattresses ourselves. There were no chairs or tables to put stuff on and the sockets are all located at very strange places. One by the door is more or less near the floor, the one next to the single bed is hip height and the most bizarre one is the one above the bed, leaving wires hanging everywhere and risk having the stuff fall onto your head.

It was a last minute thing . The generator offers a good price, a very central location and a fun vibe . But if you want a private room they have it too . All in all, very good

The property is full of life with very hospitable staff. The rooms are clean and exquisite. I will come back at a later time.

It’s a hostel

What can I say? It’s not the Hilton. It’s a dorm bed. The pros include late check in and generally clean and comfortable rooms. The cons include poor ventilation (the rooms STINK like smelly boys!) & the fact that almost everything apart from your bed costs money. Overall, not bad, but I’ve had better.

My stay at generator Stockholm was good. I changed to a private room at the last minute but the staff at the reception was friendly and flexibly adjusted. Room was clean and big, but one of the two elevator was out of service which was a little hard to go up and down. There is a bar and hanging out area at the ground floor which was good but sometime it gets quite loud. If you are staying at lower level it may put you in a difficult situation.

Good accommodation as t a reasonable price. Had a family room. Only suggestion would be tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Relative close to railway station to the airport and walkable distances into town

Where do I begin. Some things look like they havent been dusted in years and are crusty. As someone that used to work in housekeeping I know where to look and given that cleaning hostels is much less intensive than hotel suites there's 0 excuse. Elevator constantly not working, on my floor there was a bag of mcdonalds strewn by the elevator for over 24h- no one from staff bothered to clean it. No shampoo/body wash in the showers- basic things most other hostels have. Also the power was out in just our room for a full day- you had to use your phone to use the bathroom from sundown on. Couldnt shower as it was pitch black and theres nowhere like a shelf to sit your phone. I personally dont enjoy paying for a room that doesnt even function- the only answer I got was well the maintenance guy is gone for the day so... theyll deal with it tomorrow. No offer of switching rooms or anything. Super poor customer service. The last day I was there I returned to shower and my towel was taken by housekeeping/another guest- a fantastic way to end the day- not. Overall the only real benefit of this hostel is its easy access to amenities. Other than that avoid

Room Was not clean- dust and hair everywhere, even on the beds. We had to make our own beds and pay $5 to get a towel. Common areas always crowded and greasy :-/

Great location, awesome front desk staff

Location cannot be beat - easy walk from the central train station, and surrounded by awesome food locations (nomad was especially good). Breakfast was very good - felt like a hotel breakfast. Bathroom needed to be cleaned or aired out - smelled of mold, but otherwise the bedroom was very clean and quiet, and the womens only room option was appreciated.

Towels are not free!

There are no towels! You need to pay to rent towels lol... what the heck. We had a train cancellation and had to last min book this stay, otherwise we wouldn't have stayed here. The bunk beds are difficult to get onto and our shower had a 5-6 feet tall squeegee in it... very strange. Also bathroom is tiny... felt like a portapoty.

Great location and value for money. Only downside is the lack of free luggage storage.

Great location + affordable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were a bit dirty- especially bathroom and it didn’t seem to be cleaned at all during my stay.

Cool space but heater is a letdown

Stayed in a private room. Central train station is about 15mins walk, walking path all along the route. Able to walk everywhere, to old town and even Södermalm if you want to. Has a hip and trendy, youngster vibes since some of the rooms are hostel as well. Reception was welcoming and friendly too. The only issue I have is how cold the room is. They informed me that the heat is centrally controlled and depends on the temperature outside. But whether it was cold or colder (I live near the equator), the heater is not radiating enough heat to warm up the room. Reception offered to give extra blankets which I already have, but still doesn't solves the issue when you are walking around the room and especially so if you are in the shower/toilet.

Very helpful staff i the reception. They are all excellent. The white sheet covering the matress was not replaced from the other bed. It was cleaned n stretched and new linen (white sheet n duvet) was provided. Toilet was dirty but it was because of the other occupants. It was cleaned well after the service

Or room was quite dirty and full of dust while the bathroom had a heavy sewer smell. The bed was made of metal that gave of a loud popping sound when turning during sleeping. The online check-in promoted by the hotel did no difference at the check-in counter as the processing still took a long time. The staff was friendly though.

It was the absolute basics you need in a hotel room but nothing more. Location was good, but I still feel the price did not reflect on the standard. Too pricey.

The Generator is in a great location, is great value and I really enjoyed going downstairs to the restaurant to eat, have a drink and do some work with my laptop. The wifi was excellent, the service courteous, and there are bikes to rent which is always a big plus for me!

Great hostel in central Stockholm. Clean and fresh except for one sheet that was stained with black spots. Comfy beds, rooms were good if you know the other people in the room otherwise it would be a little bit tight I would have thought.

everything is perfect, nothing to complain about!!

Stayed in the private room for 4 pax and it was decently spacious. However, room was a little dusty and would help if the cleaners can clean up the room more thoroughly. No towels provided so you need to bring your own or rent one from the hotel reception. There was only a hand soap dispenser in the toilet, no shampoo and body shower. Hostel is about 20 mins walk (with luggage) to the Flybus bus terminal and Stockholm Central. There is a 7-11 & a cheap & good Asian/Jap restaurant opposite the hostel, highly recommended! The owners of the restaurant is a friendly couple!

This was ana amazing two day stay at this hostel ! Was clean comfy and the breakfast was amazing! It’s in walking distance from the main attractions and was generally amazing! Would recommend and would 100% stay again!

Excellent Location when staying in Stockholm

the stay was excellent, everything was clean and tidy, the location was in the city center still away from the crowded area so good. they have club downstairs and restaurant too. the staff was very polite and helpful. would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

The staff had been very kind to check us in even though we arrived in Generator at 8AM in the morning. The room was very quiet although we were fronting the main road due to the double glass windows that kept out traffic noise. It also has black-out curtains, bed and quilt was very warm and comfortable. There was also an ensuite toilet which makes it very convenient for the 4-bed dormitory.
