Highly recommended, great place to stay.

Good place to stay, room could have been cleaner, staff & service were excellent. Will stay here again.

The tv was dreadful the property was uneven I fell down because a drain plug was missing the fan in the bathroom has never been cleaned or the lightbulbs changed won’t be going back sorry

It wasnt terrible but it was very average. We booked the king suite for the bath tub but when we arrived it was all scratched on the bottom and had stains. The phone in the room didnt work, nor did the kettle but they did replace that for us. Minibar wasn't stocked with anything but small milk. The carpet was torn and patchy. There was cob webs in every corner and the fake plants desperately need a dust. There was also no cutlery, plates or bowls in the rooms. There was no microwave. The toilet also ran continuously and didn't flush properly.

Great small hotel in a nice quiet area. Overall very nice but the very soft bed killed my back.

I had ordered a non smoking room due to health reasons. The room smelt of cigarettes and we had people smoking right out front our window and talking loud late at night. Next morning I found the cigarette tray right below our window. I had ordered ease of access we were given room with spa that was difficult to step into to shower. We payed extra for breakfast booking as we had medical appointments that day over lunch. We arrived at 20 to 9 for breakfast the toast machine hot food and drinks were turned off the food in the buffet Luke warm, turned off well before we cane and people arrived to eat after us. The chef told us that he had turned it all off & finishes at 9. The night before I was told by front of house that he cooks till 9am and service ends at 9:30. On the website it says they service till 10am the breakfast was $37 each. For the quality & attitude of chef I was astounded they could charge that there was no fruit to go with cereal and the pastries were all gone he had put away the food already. I was crook all day due to poor food hygiene. We had an 11 am checkout. The front garden was full of weeds and the look of the place rough out front. The young people serving the front desk were so lovely & polite and I felt sorry for them. The bed was comfortable but smelt of cigarette smoke. The net curtain inside had a brown cigarette stain on it. The cups in the kitchenette were tea stained and the draw dirty. Had to wash before use. Room was otherwise ok.

Quiet, clean and reasonably priced. Reception staff were friendly and booking process easy.

A good sized room with comfortable bed, as well as a sofa, dining table and work desk. Nice bathroom too. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Rubbish in car park

Staff was polite but lacked social skills and could barely speak English. Though he was helpful when asked, the language barrier was tricky. Upon staying, I quickly noticed how unclean my room was. The room stank of body odour, there was some kind of brown coffee like splatter on the wall and the shower had mould in 2 different spots… only stay here if you are desperate and cheap.

Value for money in this outer suburb.

My preferred stay around Clayton

Good for the price. Bed comfortable, room clean and very quiet. Downsides were the bathroom door of room 6 which needs replacing and the general overgrown gardens and grounds of the complex. However an ‘under new management’ sign would give hope that these things will be attended to as the new management get a chance to settle in and attend to the many jobs that require attention.

Nice place, large room, firm bed - a bit outdated though, cushions could do with a clean and no wifi or netflix etc.

Happy with what was offered for the price

It’s a nice motel, rooms are neat with large tv’s and the restaurant serves nice food. Oh and very comfortable beds.

Nice place for short time stay.

This stay exceeded my expectations. It could be a bit noisy in the mornings due to other people staying on the property, but it was quiet at night. The actual room was very spacious and was really well looked after by the cleaning staff. The bed was comfortable. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

It is advertised as having a Bar/Restaurant which made it an easy option for my visit. However, upon arrival I find out that it only serves breakfast, no dinner/bar options, so the main reason I chose this was not available. Rooms are good enough and front desk lady was friendly and accommodating.

It was close to the office I was working at and the room was a suitable size, a bit dated, and the service was acceptable, pricing matched expectations.

Good to be close to take away shops nearby.

Bathroom full of mould and spar bath was not clean also very dusty main area very dusty not vacuumed no microwave plates or cutlery found chocolate coated peanuts beside bed n also found cobwebs hanging from the roof beds not made properly as didn’t fit the bed base on queen bed had a hole cut on the side of it, blue tac on fan gardens had rubbish in it and smells like pee.

The staff where excellent , the utilities themselves superb, there are a few restaurants nearby so food is readily accessible. All in all a big win for Gateway on the Monash

Our room was unique….the tv screen was covered is circles…..thought it was the tv station….it was the tv itself. The ceiling fan was dirty, the shower was unclean and the smoke detector was hanging out of the ceiling. Breakfast was poor. Had to find our own knife to butter our toast

Only thing I didnt like was the lack of internet access at night as I was trying to work but the internet would not connect because too many people were using it.

Was perfect for my one night stay during visit of the local University.

Lovely, charming place. The shower being in the spa bath is a bit tricky to access and the traffic noise was louder than I thought it would be. Other than that, the staff were lovely, the room was spacious bed was comfortable.

Room was simple enough, quite dated, but had everything you needed. Booking process and check in was really nice and simple. The staff were friendly. Included parking was really great and easy to use. The only disappointing part was that the room smelt incredibly strong of smoke and was quite stale.

Rooms were well appointed and clean. The exterior there was mould on air conditioning unit and gardens needed some attention. Otherwise great value!

Good stay but onsite restaurant was mediocre

Overall, a comfortable stay. The onsite restaurant however was mediocre with a very limited menu and some items were not available.

Good stay

It was a good comfortable stay I will be happy to stay there again if I’m in the area. The service by staff was excellent.

Would have liked a toaster in our room and weren’t advised that we had a room with a spa instead of a shower.

Only to thing was one of phones wasn’t working in main for reception. The hairdryer room 31 didn’t work but otherwise great hotel highly recommended

I chose this place to stay because it was cheap and convenient. The reviews were good too. It was a very clean room,, quiet given its location and was exactly what I hoped for.

Did not like noise coming from other rooms. Breakfast was cold.

For my own reasons, Gateway provided me a very comfortable stay. Room was spacious, wifi worked, temperature adjustable. Surrounding area was very minimal but the small convenient store provided enough for my breakfast or lunch.

Staff were very friendly, went out of their way for us. Short walk to the Victorian Heart Hospital. Even asked if results were ok.

Great place close to hospital

Good clean older style motel and comfortable. Wifi was good and good for business travellers. Menu was good, maybe could be a little more western food but the cheeseburger spring rolls were amazing!!!

Wow! What a surprise! Lovely people…very helpful. Great meal…beautifully cooked. Huge room…really well appointed! A spa bath! Big comfy bed…the entire stay for 1 night was too short! Wish this was the standard for all the hotels we stay in! Loved it…thank you!

Had an awesome shower, nice clean soft cosy bed, I dined in the restaurant and the food was great, very friendly and relaxing.

Decent place

Staff were lovely at check in and it was lovely to stay there again. Perfect stop out of Melbourne and near to Monash Uni

The room was very nice. The noise when upstairs was filling the spa, or having a shower was very loud. After a while water started to drip from the ceiling and land in the channel for the built in wardrobe and made noise also, it was keeping us awake.

Lovely and quite if the lights were upgraded it would be a little better and they need Netflix- as a seasoned traveler this is now a must in all accomodation

Did'nt like that i had to climb in a spa bath to have a shower, i have a back injury, and this made me very nervous and was difficult, getting out was quite hard..Website saud breakfast was included if i booked online but was told because of "covid" no breakfast was supplied, no reception, all communication had to be by phone..room was clean and we only stayed one instead of 2 nights..

Wasnt clean at all, demanded a refund, said they would automatically, to be stuffed around for weeks awaiting payment, wont answer my calls back, hung up on, very rude behaviour

Excellent rooms that were very clean and spacious! Secure parking right outside room, some noise from outside at times but didn't affect our stay at all. Suggest having a price list in the room of minibar items and some info on nearby things e.g places to eat, a map of Melbourne, etc. Will stay again when in Melbourne again!

Room was nice and clean. We had a room that faced a major road and it was a little noisy at times. The bed was on wheels and moved when trying to sit and read in bed. Staff were very nice and check in and out was a very easy process. Handy to have a few choices for take away food just around the corner.

The room was comfortable.

Clean and comfortable for the most part except the spa bath had a grimy ring around it. Matress was a bit aged and not so sure about having spa baths on the floor above as it vibrates down into the bottom room, especially when the guests above decide to have a 2 hour spa. Overall not a bad place to stay.

Very clean, good bed and large room. Spa bath tub. Walk to bottle shop, Kebabs, Pizza and Chinese. Easy parking. Easy check in/out. All you need and great value.

Its a very quiet, comfortable and clean place to stay, i would recommend it to anyone travelling or just needing a room for a night. I will continue to stay at this hotel whenever necessary.
