Excellent location; very nice views. They encouraged us to go to vaar restaurant, 5 minutes away by walk in the nighttime. When we were returning at about 10 pm lical people accosted us. We had to run to the hotel. Better security would be helpful or should not encourage us to go out at nighttime.
All staff very polite and friendly. Food was very good. Rooms were clean however air conditioning needs major work; it smelled mildewy. Exterior of building could use cleaning and painting.
When we were trying to decide where to stay in Rishikesh we looked at Ganga Kinare and Aloha on the other side of town. As first timers we didn't know much about the layout of the town and picked Ganga based on the fact we'd have access to the boardwalk along the Ganges. It was great for a stroll for sure! So many Ashrams along the waters edge. We did take a look at Aloha while we were in town and it was a beautiful property with a beautiful vista. Really stunning, but very windy. Ganga as a property didn't compare. It was much smaller and a bit 'tired'. But it did have access to the Ganges within a few steps from the hotel rather than a long walk down a hill from the Aloha. Our room was large and had been updated some time ago. Shower was beautiful and hot and bed was comfy. The people really made the place. Just lovely and personable. They couldn't have been more helpful. Yoga at 730am each day on the top floor was also a super special treat as the room had floor to ceiling windows and offered a magnificent view of the Ganga and mountains. Just gorgeous at sunrise. The food on the buffet was Indian but adapted for westerners so it wasn't spicy enough for us - again - as soon as the staff found out they were happy to help out and make us happy. There was an Aarti ceremony at 6pm each night on the Ganges and we took part of it and it was small, intimate and special. Highly recommended after the huge Aarti in town and in Haridwar.
A Serene Retreat
A perfect retreat for relaxation and spiritual rejuvenation, ideal for anyone seeking peace and tranquility. Highly recommended!
The property needs updating as we had been in Jan 2024 it remains the same- on the last day the toilet kept blocking plus the smell in the room was not very nice. We had a partial river view room which was really lovely. So there are positives and negatives despite this l really like the hotel. I especially like the resident pundit who does amazing pooja in the morning and evening which is beautiful. The staff are very nice 😊
Every thing was wonderful
Nice hotel
Great people, great location and good food.. Being on Ganga is unimaginable bliss.. Great and memorable stay..
Hotel was Ok food was Ok Worst part is that they have a tour guide operating out of their hotel robbing you charging you a daily rate for him and the hotel taxi and using the taxi to do his business have you waiting on him while he do whatever he has to do. On top of that adding charges to the hotels taxi to make money, every store we go to he’s going back for tips off of the stuff I bought. Desperate much! When I ask to go anywhere he’s saying where to go and when to go. Went to take a bathe in the Ganga and said we have 10 mins then after we had to wait on him to have coffee before heading to a puja Definitely worst! I even left the hotel 2 Days before because of him. Warning y’all don’t Go here and use RAJ as your tour guide. Stay at hotel fine! Yes
Great staff that are very helpful and friendly. They answered all my questions and made sure my special requests were met (I have dietary restrictions). Great spa too!
Hotel has its own ghat and lovely walk by Ganga behind hotel
the stay and service were good . could have improved the food quality
Location is a winner. So is the staff. It's a great place to be
Stay at Ganga Kinare
Location of hotel is good right on bank of Ganga , food is very good , overall a nice experience
I have stayed here before. This time I was not very satisfied with the service specially in the restaurant. Food was average. Did not like the attitude of some waiters. Ganga Kinare was my favorite place to stay. I have to rethink next. Rooms speacially bathrooms need some makeover.
Lovely place to stay. The staff here were very friendly and organised a couple of trips for us. If you like beautiful, calm, natural environments, I would highly recommend the day trip to their sister hotel, Oneness. The food was excellent, probably one of the best dinner buffets I’ve ever had in a hotel. The hotel is situated right next to the Ganges with beautiful views. Only downside is the hotel is located a long way from the more “backpacker” areas of Tapovan and Laxman Jhula, and the journey up there is not very pleasant as Rishikesh is quite hectic and polluted.
Above Expectations!!!
I have visited and stayed in quite a few hotels over the last 20 years in Rishikesh. I am pleased to report that Ganga Kinare (GK) is the best hotel experience I have had in Rishikesh. What I liked bigtime: Super friendly and efficient check in Modern, renovated and very clean rooms where everything works and the AC was perfect Amenities are as advertised and are of good quality and chosen with care Service is five star. Everybody is focused on customer service and they deliver with a smile Room service is fast, high quality and the menu covers lots of cuisines and choices, all well done I have a riverside room on 2nd floor. The view is spectacular, windows are clean and huge Soundproofing that works. These rooms are soundproofed, and it makes a huge difference The balcony for dining is wonderful, they have heaters, great service (RAM was awesome) just great. The front desk provides answers, converts currency/provides smaller bills and cannot do enough to make the stay special. The front desk is just five stars and the best I have experienced The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and manicured. Secured access to the river is easy to use Walking the river front and enjoying the sights, sounds and evening ceremonies is wonderful and safe Transport (Tuk Tuk) is available right out front, the neighborhood is fun to walk and people watch Quite frankly there is nothing I can list that is a “don’t like”. Everything was great, five stars and I highly suggest staying here!
Good stay
A good stay at this hotel specially after a few days at an Ashram, so good to feel some comfort. The staff are excellent and very attentive, excellent SPA. However the hotel clearly feels a need for serious maintenance in terms of paint and therefore i felt that what we paid was over priced specially as it was a same price in a 5 star hotel in Delhi Aerocity which was truly of a much higher standard than this hotel. Nevertheless enjoyed the break. Thank You
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I didn’t come for dinner one night and someone called me to check on me.
Very good wait and reception staff , great service and location , helpful and kind , had a very pleasant stay.
I liked this hotel as l was not expecting for a temple to be available to do a personal prayer. The priest was absolutely fantastic- l would highly recommend this hotel where the overall stay was absolutely great 👍.
Way too over priced.
Not a 4 start at all. They need to upgrade and renovate their property. Their price is crazy high for what it has to offer. Old bathroom , old rooms. They are definitely over charging.
Everything was good. We liked it very much
One of the best experiences we had in our life .
fabulous break
Amazing location and amazing staff
Gorgeous property, gorgeous view, excellent staff, delicious food. Had a lovely stay. Will visit again.
A niche hotel with a great location and rooms Great service from all staff. Beautiful Ganga temple in the grounds where we attended aartis in the morning. Private ghat enabled is to take blessings without the crowds.
Rooms, toilet and shower need a hell lot of upgrade. They looked very dated, barely 1-2 stars worth. Smelly toilets and no towels in our room. AC remote had no batteries. Staff was polite and helpful, service was prompt. Food was okay.
The shower was blocked and property needs more maintenance. Do think it’s 4str property.
This is the 5th time I have stayed here. I enjoy the location to the river, the friendliness of the staff, and comfort of the rooms
Beautiful location and great food.
It was amazing, the view was awesome. Staff was good, and beautiful location.
Fantastic property. Tad expensive. 1 star less given absolute disinterest shown by the waiter serving us at Tawa Veg. Buffet counter.
It was wonderful!
Peaceful serene place. Staff and management seek to serve and please the guests. Those on religious pilgrimages, this place caters well: private access to Ganges, morning and evening prayers.
The food was really outstanding and the location and facilities were excellent. I also enjoyed the yoga class. The water in the jacuzzi was not warm enough.
Staying here is like being a part of an extended family inviting you to so many worthwhile experiences. Yoga and meditation classes in the mornings, Hindu service and tea at sunset. Large breakfast buffets with made to order breads in the morning. Spa services and private yoga instruction can be booked. Even partial view rooms have great view of the Ganges. One side of hotel looks over a wedding venue - if you want the pageantry and noise. Hotel is right on the walkway along the Ganges, close enough to town center without being in it. Highly Recommend for the food and experiences. The staff make you feel like family. It’s really nice.
I liked Private Ghat But it lacks sitting area near to river in evening
The most horrible experience that we could have dreamt of on our dream family vacation. The hotel is shabby and completely scams you of your money. Avoid at all costs!!!
Great location on the bank of Ganges. You get up to such a beautiful atmosphere.Lovely staff. Thanks everyone at Ganga Kinare for making our stay pleasant.
Good Hotel with Ganga view
Very good hotel. Food was very delicious. Hotel was very clear and have there personal Ganga Ghat for customers
The location was excellent, at a bend of the Ganges. The hotel has a very pretty garden and temple and its own private ghat. The hotel provided a very nice priest for our ceremony. Staff was friendly and accommodating. AC in our room was quirky and one of the windows was not fully sealed. Room service was spotty ,perhaps from understaffing in the pandemic. Overall satisfying stay.
Amazing
Absolutely amazing, the service, food every thing was exceptional I will always recommend this hotel
Great location
Great location along the Ganges. If that's what you're looking for, stay here.
Very good staff service. Restaurant staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Good hotel car service. But hotel seems to cost conscious by restricting hot water!
Fantastic experience but check details properly
Hotel location, cleanliness, services were excellent however I am bit disappointed as in hotels.com it was showing as "River View" and also bath tub in the list of available services but it was partial river view and bath tub was not there. Ganga Kinnare staff said these two are part of upper category rooms and not of Deluxe room category. Ultimately misleading information for me as consumer.
hello, I contacted you on 27.10.19 regarding cancellation of a hotel reservation at GANGA KINARE by Holywater Hotels Order Number: 9205098973406 And you haven't yet returned a refund request even though the hotel manager agreed to a refund because of renovations and appalling noise at the hotel! On 26.10.19 I booked a room for a couple for two days, we woke up in the morning with loud noises due to hotel renovation !! There is no sign pointing to renovations and your site does not mention that the renovation is !! The atmosphere in the hotel is unpleasant, I arrived at the hotel to celebrate 33 years of marriage and was very disappointed! Requests to receive the refund immediately At the front desk, they confirmed the cancellation of the accommodation and you have been charged with not yet replying !! Before I continue to write about your disrespectful behavior, I will ask for an immediate answer Thank you Michael Shaked
Staff are excellent and food was delicious & reasonable price.
Good location but terrible rooms and ok service
The location was great. But that’s it. The service was terrible. Building was dirty. There was construction going on and it was sand and dirt everywhere. Bathroom are leaking. They put a big thing about save water and everything leaks water. Everything about the room was terrible, old and broken. How did even win TripAdivisor award?
Fantastic food and amenities for everyone. 5 stars. We extended our stay.
Too expensive to what’s offered
It was under construction, so the first floor looked liked the movie Hostal (Scary). The rooms are pretty basic, the food was just good enough. The people on the front desk got me a tour with a guy who didn’t speak a word of English and that almost killed my trip, but at least they have a tour guide that takes you to the Ganga Aarti close by, and this is the only reason I am giving some points to this place, since $115 is expensive for been India
Right at the banks kf Ganges river..they have their free guide to bring you to prayer..it was sooo enjoyable. Staff ia friendly and very helpful. Food was good too
Very nice staff
Service is excellent in the hotel and especially in the restaurant. Hotel need to be refurbished to maintain the same level of price comparatively to other hotels.
prompt and courteous and professional service every day
Stay here!!
Amazing if you’re looking for a peaceful place close to Rishīkesh!
Well mannered and polite staff, Well maintained property at a very ambience place along the banks of Ganges river. Peaceful and calm place. Facility of yoga classes. The food has wide range and is modified according to your taste if you tell the chef. If you have spiritual inclination then you can enjoy the bhajan Sandhya evenings organised by hotek
Wonderful!
I loved this hotel! My room had a direct view of the Ganga. Super friendly and helpful staff, free yoga, free guide to take guests to the Ganga Aarti, vegetarian restaurant, amazing spa, prayer garden, jacuzzi with a view of the Ganga... just some of the +++ points!!!
Perfect hotel and view of the Ganga!
A wonderful hotel with a perfect view of the Ganga. My stay there was wonderful. Free yoga, free walking tour, beautiful spa, vegetarian restaurant, frendly staff. And my room had a direct view of the Ganga. Perfect!
Great hotel in a good location. All services as advertised.
Nice very lovely view of Ganga Just need to seal windows so not noisy and can get restful sleep
Great stuff, you feels like home when you are there
Stay was just Ok. Bathroom was having foul smell. Brought to notice of GM. Location is great.
Outstanding stay.
Ganga Kinare is a beautiful property located right on the banks of the Ganges River. The views are amazing. The hotel staff are very service oriented and took care of my special requests and went out of their way to ensure my stay was the best it could be. I do, however have a couple of points of concern. The restaurant, while serving excellent food, I found the staff sometimes ignored me. Indeed, if I asked for something, I got it, but the point was, I would have to go out of my way to ask, One morning, I asked for Earl Grey Tea and while I knew they had it because I saw the tea bags there, the waiter didn’t know what I was asking for. Also, this is a complete vegetarian restaurant. Being a westerner and a non-vegetarian, I would have appreciated an egg option for the breakfast. Finally, on the last day, the water system was down and I didn’t get to shower in the morning before I left. This was probably a city thing, but a back up system might be nice. Really, these points are minor as the location and the rest of the hotel staff and amenities are truly stellar. I would highly recommend the spa and the hotel has free tours, shuttles to attractions, yoga and meditation classes. It really is an outstanding place to stay. I am looking forward to returning.
The hotel and its staff are pleasing and will do everything to make your stay comfortable.
An upscale way to experience this holy city
From the moment you arrive the staff and location offer a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. For those who want to enjoy this spiritual city there are easy transport options into the city and reasonably priced tours provided by the hotel available. Then come home to a dramatic spot on the river to rest up for your next adventure. The staff is awesome, the food is good enough, and the rooms are simple but comfortable. Ridhikesh is not about 5 star hotels. It is about heart and soul. Ganga Kinare gets it right!
Great view of ganga river
Nice ganga view. Polite staff. The cleanlingness of the room can be improved as we found quite a lot of hairs and marks on the bedsheet.
Rishikesh is amazing
The hotel is south of Rishikesh by a cpuple kilometers but a lovely walk along the Ganges. The food at the hotel hotel was surprisingly great. Going to the nightly Ganga Aarti downtown was beyond words. Overall the hotel was very accommodating.
The location of the hotel was ideal with their own private ghat. The staff and in house priest Rahul Bhai went out of their way to make our stay at the hotel great. Their warmth and hospitality made one feel at home and nothing was too much of an effort. Well done.
Great location
Great location side of ganga it is divine place. Food is bogus. Except tea all food test is junk need to improve cooking style and test and cleannes of bathroom and bathroom orientation inside. Just they place everything but how it works does not count
Ganga Kinare
We loved the hotel location, right on the banks of river Ganges. There was a walking/biking path next to the river which was very nice and clean. We had a very pleasant walk to the evening Aarti at the Treveni Ghat.
We loved it
Great place
Amazing place. Away from crowd. Really good view of Ganga and great use of space to give great experience to visitors, Room was nice and very comfortable, facing Ganga river. Garden and deck/ terrace very nice. Food is OK, buffet breakfast is great with lots of variety. Lunch and dinner, food is more catered to foreigners. not so tasty. Over all great place to chill and enjoy Yoga,
Hospitality was great Food was satvik Good car arrrangment Guide mr bhatt and driver were great
A safe haven. Outstanding veg cuisine restaurant.
Situated a 15 minute taxi drive from the main foreign tourist enclave (Laxman Jhula) this hotel is located next to the River Ganges with a breathtaking view of the forested national park across the river. The hotel is spacious and professionally presented with a careful and peaceful ambience exuding class and cultural pride. There are both male and female hotel staff on the front desk and throughout. Staff are exceptional in their uniforms, helpfulness and manner. I was taken aback by their willingness to always offer a smile and assistance when needed. The restaurant staff are amazing, mixing friendliness and professionalism with aplomb. The staff are very helpful with organizing taxis and the hotel's drivers we used were awesome: both patient with our demands and safe in their driving. The hotel's many facilities (spa, yoga, etc.) make it a cut above the rest and, despite not being close to the touristic action, is a safe haven from the stresses of the main streets of the town.
the view is amazing
The overall experience is wonderful. the staff was nice and helpful. If we asked for something they tried to help.
Hotel was very comfortable, food was great and staff were super friendly
Nice hotel very close to holy river Ganges.
Everything was good. Very good helpful staff, good vegetarian food, comfortable and clean rooms. Private Ganga ghat, Ganga Aarti and Yoga class are really enjoyable.
Excellent stay
Excellent stay
A room with a view
Very welcoming front of house staff and helpful with very with tours and local info. Fabulous location away from the bustling town, looking out across the river to the national park, ask for a room with a river view. Some of the waiting staff at the restaurant were a little disinterested and odd to deal with. The place is charming but showing its age. Overall though we were happy with our stay.
Quiet retreat on the Ganga
Wonderful stay here after a busy day in Rishikesh it was great to come back to the quiet of the hotel, away from the hustle and bustle and have a nice dinner. ride into town was about 250 - 300 rupees each day (about 4-5$) but no big deal considering the upside of the hotel they have a wonderful aarti each night, and the walk up to Triveni Ghat was a highlight of the trip
Great and helpful staff, especially the front desk. Breakfast and dinner were also very good. An amazing experience, would definitely recommend it!
Very nice hotel, most friendly staff willing to go
Excellent hotel and staff would recommend this hotel to all my friends I can not praise staff enough for professionalism and helpfulness
Splendid views of the Ganges
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay the Ganga Kinare. Very friendly staff especially at the reception. Lovely breakfast buffet and enjoyed complmentary services of Yoga and spiritual walk. Will definitely be visiting again.
Highly recommend this hotel!
Overall a great stay in a modern hotel with great views overlooking the Ganga River. The service was exceptional, the food was good and they had a list of local activities to help you maximize your stay. Loved it!
Nice hotel away from the city noise.
One of the best options in town considering service and infrastructure. Still keep in mind this is India.
Friendly, comfortable, and stylish
The room is of medium size, stylish, and has a beautiful view of the Ganges. The garden and terrace public spaces have fabulous views of the river and mountains. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The Indian food is delicious (western food not as good...), and they have a great buffet in the evening. The main disadvantage is the distance from the tourist attractions (Laxman Julla, Swarg Ashram), requiring a noisy and bumpy 10-20 minute taxi or riksha ride.
Nice hotel with good access to the Ganges river.
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in end of May and we had a very relaxing and satisfying stay at this hotel. It was a nice and quiet location to return to after a hectic day out at various places in Rishikesh and around. We enjoyed the vegetarian buffet at the hotel restaurant with reasonably good variety every day. Good service at the restaurant. Reception staff were very helpful with information and arranging reliable rental car. We did not have time this time to try the other facilities such as Yoga classes, massage therapy and tours.
Nice Hotel in Rishikesh for Pilgrimage Tourist
Nice hotel, my parents stayed there comfortable Good for pilgrimage
Great hotel with spa and restaurant
Second trip to the Ganga and I wasn't disappointed. The spa has been given a facelift and as always all of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I booked a spa treatment and a safari within 5 minutes of arriving. Food in the restaurant was great and the upgraded room amenities were a bonus ( comp chips and water) Early morning safari came with a packed breakfast and a great guide. Aside from very high end hotels in the area I can't find another that offers the range of services the Ganga Kinare does...at very reasonable rates. Another great stay!
a very pleasant stay
we had very pleasant stay at this hotel located at the banks of the Ganges river, accessable from the rear of the property, lovely for early morning walk. The breakfast and other time food was great and very tasty, with live flute player everyday in the dinning room very soothing especially somebody so talented.Breakfast was both western and Asian with lots of choices and in plentiful. The room was very clean with lovely shower and of course lovely view of the river. Tea and coffee making in the room along with bottled water was complementary. The staff was very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The morning yoga session was free and very worth attending and was very popular with the guests. we would recommend this hotel to our friends and family and in future use it ourselves.
Good choice
Short but very relaxed stay. Tastefull food and yoga classes. Access to riverfront and private ghat.
Beaufiful location right by Ganga.
The location of the hotel is amazing, a little away from city centre, quiet, overlooking Ganga with mountains in the background. There's a nice and quiet promenade that can access directly from the hotel which takes straight to triveni ghat where evening arti takes place daily. This should not be missed. One can access to local markets from the ghat which is a wonderful way to see how local markets look. Hotel staff were excellent and very accommodating . Hotel offers yoga classes, meditation sessions, and spiritual walk free of charge which are great added services. The only area that needs improvements is the facility inside the hotel room. Furnishings and fixtures are outdated and have not been kept up. The owner needs invest in renovating/upgrading the inside of the rooms for sure. Lobby and common areas are quite pleasant.
The food, the staff, the overall experience...just great
On the river
Nice hotel on the Ganges River. Location was great, and away from the hustle and bustle of Rishikesh. Breakfast was fantastic. The hotel is in need of upgrading. Our first night our room overlooked a construction site. The machines did not stop until after midnight. We asked to be moved the following night and had a much better sleep.
Best memories
Stated here for 2 nights for Ash immersion, can't fault it although looks a little dated it is very clean and staff are very friendly.
Pleasant boutique hotel right on the Ganges
I stayed her for the second time recently. Great for people who want to absorb the religious ambience of this holy city on the Ganges in a reasonable amount of comfort. Complimentary yoga and meditation lessons, great vegetarian breakfast menu which is varied each day. If you wish you can raft down the river from upstream of Rishikesh to the hotel's private ghat about 5 km downstream.
Excellent hotel at a beautiful location by Ganges
Hotel was excellent with beautiful room overlooking the Ganges and the mountains - very serene and peaceful location. Hotel staff was phenomenon with excellent services. Welcome and departure gift packs were very much appreciated.
Amazing and very comfortable.
Their was repair work going in the hotel, which was too noisy. My old parents got disturbed because of that. Rest all was fine.
Charming Hotel By the Ganga
I spent a week at Hotel Ganga Kinare as a solo female traveler. I always felt comfortable and well taken care of during my stay. The staff members were friendly and attentive and helped me plan activities around Rishikesh. It was relaxing to wake up to the view of the Ganges at sunrise every morning. I wish I could have stayed longer!
