Great hotel, the staff were very friendly and the location was good, I could walk to all the main tourist sites and there were many restaurants around.

A comfortable and inexpensive hotel that is right by Galata Tower. That's it, that's the recommendation. The breakfast offered was simple, which was fine, because you want to walk to any one of the many cafes nearby for delicious food and drink.

Cool hotel!

I think everything is fine, but there are mosquito in the night. And I had booked another day already. I hope I can have higher floor because there are some noisy in the night.

We were very pleased with the hotel and highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even let us keep a suitcase at the hotel while we went on a cruise. Would definitely return here😋

The staff seemed friendly. The AC worked well. The internet went in and out. Even when I had it it was one bar. The room was old and dingy and I have bug bits all over my arms and legs. There was some bug (not bed bug) in the bedding and it was relentless. The bed was a lump and I felt I was sleeping on springs. My back and neck are worse for ware.

Friendly stuff, nice included breakfast option, close proximity from major tourist's spots, cute Galata tower view room options. Very quiet and secluded location from chaotic pace of Istanbul in the middle of the old town, with walkable distance to major metro line, famous tram street, Galata tower / bridge, port, countless restaurants and bars.

Great location. Didn't spend very long in room but it met all expectations. Good value for the price I paid. Breakfast ideally would start earlier than 8am - didn't get to take advantage of breakfast due to my flight timing.

Galatahan hotel review

Stayed in the hotel for one week and I wish I choose a different one. It’s not the worst but it’s not the greatest either. It’s in a good location for tourism but it’s on a noisy street with a lot of construction. The room was not the best, the walls were peeling, the ac smelled bad for a couple of days, sink was loose, door for bathroom made a loud popping noise ever time you open a close. Staff for cleaning and kitchen were amazing. The staff at the front desk are not attentive, mind you I was there for 6 days 5 nights and did not help with luggage at all. Breakfast was great!!! Would never come back👎

No the best Customer Service Experience.

Great Location and great breakfast. However, as soon as we put our feet into the building, we started to experience not the best customer service. The service was not as expected. I will start to mention that the from desk person at check in is not a good listener, he is rude. I decided ignored his as I don't really want to spend time arguing with an unhappy person, especially after a long fly. I let my husband to deal with him. We booked a Family suite, the room is very well designed but was not totally clean, the cover bed on the master room was not clean. Seems like they didn't change it from the last guess. and we decide not to use it. Also, during our 5 days 4-night stay, they didn't change the beds sheets. They only change the towels. I did the request to change the bed sheets to one of the housekeeping and unfortunately seems like they didn't understand due to language barrier. The lights in the main room and main bathroom never work, we asked multiples times to see if someone can come and fix it and it never happens, the excuse was the Eid Holiday and that people from maintenance was in vacation, which it was acceptable for the Eid day but not for the rest of our days. We have to use our kiddos room to shower and to do everything that needs light (make up, fix our hair, etc). I also provide the feedback to the from desk person and seems like he didn't care.

Central Location, Clean Room, Nice Staff

Staff was helpful and reached out ahead of my stay to help arrange transportation from airport. Everyone was kind and helpful. The hotel was clean and bed was comfortable. My room was upgraded and had a nice view. Breakfast was good. The room was small, as I expected. The neighborhood was safe with easy access to Galata Tower (currently under construction), Taksim, Sultanhamet, Galataport and Ferries. I used public transportation and had a great experience.

Lovely & modern, a lift, staff are lovely, plenty for breakfast, good sized room. Room cleaned daily, towels changed daily. Excellent value for money.

Our stay was pretty good, nothing too special, breakfast was good and you can pick many things. Location of hotel was great because it's close to Galata tower and metro

The worst experience I had at GALATAHAN hotel. First they refused to change dates as my flight was delayed for 1 day. Despite Expedia reminding through email. They didn’t compensate. The room toilet was open and no privacy. All night we were disturbed noise coming from street as windows were not closing properly. At 12 checkout time reception started calling to leave the room in a harsh way. I will never recommend this place to anyone to stay

Even though the room was super tiny they made very good use of every single inch and all you would need was in the room.

Good value for Money in Galata

The hotel is conveniently located in Galata, close to both the tower and Karakoy/Galata bridge. The room was spacious enough, however the windows are not double-glazing therefore the noise was quite pronounced especially late in the evening, since the window was over a main street with noise throughout the night. Continental breakfast was decent, no European style coffee (only filter and Turkish coffee). Level of cleanliness fair. Overall good value for money at the price I paid.

Room was very noisy due to roadworks and morning traffic. Room air conditioning fan stopped working randomly every night and reception wasn't able to fix it. No spare fan provided. Breakfast was missing basic items. Reception claimed all rooms were booked and so refused to offer an alternate room. Overall stay was a bad experience.

Hotel at the foot of a hill near the Galata Tower. Short walk from main shopping thoroughfare and from the Tower itself. Dining options nearby. Room comfortable. Breakfast mostly cold items but good range. Pleasant stay. Good value for money. Room 28 is particularly large.

A nice quiet place steps away from major attractions. Ferries are close by too. I like convenience and cleanliness. The bed was awesome. My second time here this year. Highly recommend!

Great stay

A great little hotel in the best location!

I think for the price I paid it exceeded my expectations. Room is clean, comfortable and has all the amenities needed for a short stay. They bring two bottles of water every day. Breakfast was an added bonus. Pretty good Turkish style breakfast and they change one or two options each day. The location is really good, 5 mins walk to Galata bridge and various food places around also and a really good jazz club. Staff were pretty friendly, especially the guy working at night time during my stay, had a few conversations with him. Overall very impressed with my stay and highly recommend.

Safe in room was not working when I checked in. Reported the problem straight away but was not fixed during my entire stay. I had to carry my cash, credit cards and passport around during entire stay. Unacceptable. The hotel itself is very good but customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

NOT RECOMMENDED! 1- The room was not cleaned properly, there was hair in the shower and a dirty plastic glove on the floor. 2- The rooms are very small. The bathroom area was so small that it was actually hard to use! 3- The kettle in our room was also broken! 4- The receptionist told us that they do dry cleaning so my partner gave them a suit that he was supposed to wear to a wedding. They ruined the suit! They basically put it in a laundry machine!! They also took no responsibility for it and wouldn’t even give us a refund. 5- The breakfast is meh! And it gets extremely loud at night during the weekend!

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel Galatahan. The room was clean, very comfortable, perfect location of the hotel and the staff was amazing. The hotel rooms are comfortable and are cleaned everyday. The breakfast is excellent and changes everyday. The staff are all excellent and very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much

Bathroom too small and no privacy

It’s a nice hotel conveniently located with stunning views of the Bosphorus. At a very reasonable price, very well maintained and the staff are helpful and polite. I would personally make a few changes to their breakfast which can be a bit basic, they give you boiled eggs every day but they shouldn’t mix this up by doing scrambled eggs on one day omelettes on another day and do some grilled hellim as well, these are all very cost-effective ways of adding More choice to basic breakfast.

This hotel is exactly what we needed for a week while we explored the city with my family abs held a massive family wedding dinner. The facility was conveniently located, clean and updated elements. The rooms could use an iron and ironing board. Additionally, the door to the shower, which also served as the door to the bathroom (which is totally cool, actually) made a terrible cracking sound due to a misalignment. These are small things though. I’d definitely stay here again. The breakfast is top notch every day! We accidentally left the safe open and the cleaning staff took a picture and told us right away, and left everything as is, which was totally appreciated, since it was absolutely our mistake. This was very conscientious of the hotel. Definitely a good place to stay!

This hotel had everything I needed. Exceeded my expectations actually. The only thing is they end breakfast very early so I had to walk somewhere to get food which I found with no problem. I would stay here if I visit Istanbul again.

Bir daha kesinlikle gitmeyeceğim bir yer

Hiç memnun kalmadım. Yatak çift kişilik belirtildiği gibi büyük yata değildi 2 yatak birleştirilmiş, sürekli yatak yerinden kayıyordu küçücük tek yatakta iki kişi yatmak zorunda bırakıldık. Yek kişilik yorgan yerine iki adet küçük yorgan koyulmuştu. Tek iyi olan şey temizlikti başka hiç bir şekilde bu otelde konaklamam.

location reception staff comfortable bed very good The breakfast is definitely not too bad, and the kitchen staff, who were constantly arguing or fighting loudly in the breakfast restaurant, was very annoying. And of course I will come to stay again, but without stopping by the restaurant without having breakfast.

THE LOCATION! The hotel is a delight to see and be in. Beautifully remodelled. Looks very cool! Steps away from the Galata bridge and Krakoy ferries. Convenient! I was less impressed with the offerings for breakfast. But the cafe zone and the breakfast set-up are just imeccable! All in all, solid 5 out of 5.

Ses yalitimi korkunc

Lokasyon olarak harika bir yer fakat, hic bir sekilde ses yalitimi yoktu. Sokaktaki tum ses, Calisanlarin konusmalari vs cok net duyuluyordu. Uyumakta zorluk cektik. Kahvalti standart idi hatta kotu diyebilirim. Onun disinda oda, lavabo, nevresimler vs temizdi. Bir daha buyuk ihtimal kalmam. Kalacak olursam da cadde tarafindan kesinlikle oda ayirtmam.

We had a room with no air conditioning and it was hot and stuffy. It wost by far the worst hotel experience ive ever had

The room was small but clean and comfortable, and the street noise at night was noticeable. Location was good, about a 40 min. walk across the Galata bridge to the Hagia Sophia and other sites--and very close to the tram. Breakfast was fine. The staff was wonderful, assisting with cabs and advice, and went above and beyond to be helpful.

The people at the hotel are wonderful. They really went out of there way to help. The views from the room were nice. The small balcony was a nice surprise.

Abaixo das expectativas.

Estadia medíocre. Adorámos a cidade, a localização é ótima, mas tudo o resto dececionou um pouco, pelo que consideramos que deve começar a existir alguma exigência a este nível nos hotéis de Istambul. Pontos negativos, o AC muito ruídoso e com péssima distribuição de ar, casa de banho sem extração ou compartimentarão estanque para o quarto, janelas em madeira que deixam passar literalmente todo o ruído do exterior. Por fim, ao nível do pequeno almoço, a oferta é reduzida para a gama em que diz que se encontra, não correspondendo ao que vimos nas fotografias. Ao nível do edifício, o mesmo foi alvo de uma reabilitação profunda e tem ótimo aspeto.

The most of all, the staff service and interaction (in English) was absolutely top of the class. I could have not asked for more. Amazing staffs. The room area (sq.ft) was small, but considering the room I used and the location of the hotel, it was reasonable. The bathroom door was little cranky to work with. I had to give it another little push to close completely.

Not a good place to sleep

The location of the hotel was great, being able to reach tourist landmarks and the metro by walking. The sound insulation, however, was not as desirable. You can hear the neighboring rooms and vehicles outside, which can be a disturbance if you are not a deep sleeper. The room was also very small, making it difficult to navigate it. The food was fine, but I expected a tad more variety to it. The staff also weren't very friendly, usually doing their own thing and ignoring those who were staying there. Overall, I believe that the price doesn't fit what you get in the end. I'd recommend spending your money on a different hotel.

The hotel staff was nice and accommodating. The room was smaller than anticipated but the bed was comfortable.

I would stay there again, reception very friendly and helpful. all was good and i was happy i selected Galataham hotel.

Good area for tourists but very noisy at night until 3-4 am and then at 5 am start worship service.

Prompt acknowledgment of the on-line booking, Friendly, helpful reception (excellent English and Turkish). The clean, airy room was certainly small (just room to walk-around the queen-size bed) Bathroom separated only by means of a frosted glass door - no noise isolation, but all service clean and working. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning (heat cycle) worked effectively and quietly. A small desk with sufficient, conveniently located power outlets and lighting. Generally quiet with only occasional intrusive street noise. TV with numerous channels (literally hundreds). Comprehensive, unhurried (08-11:00am) breakfast with comfortable tables and chairs. Generally a pleasant stay for 2 nights in an older area of the city.

Ny stay in the hotel was amazing! In comperance to the hotel where I lived before the arrival in the same city it was a 100 times better ! The room was very cosy, with the great view. The bed was exceptional, as well as the hot shower. Staff was super helpful - they provided me with the all the necessery information, helped me a lot and were very kind, they definately know the hospitality. Location - just 10/10. Breakfast varried and was nice. Absolutely highly recommended, will definately revert again.

Für einen Istanbul-Trip mit Abstand das beste Preis-Verhältnis Hotel. Die Lage ist Top, die Mitarbeiter sind sehr sehr nett und zukommend.Alles wird mit hofflichkeit geklärt. Die Zimmer sind zwar bisschen klein, aber sehr schön eingerichtet. In Istanbul sollte man die Zeit draußen verbringen. Kann es jedem vom Herzen empfehlen!

Cute new hotel

Really enjoyed our stay at the Galatahan hotel. It seemed new and maybe still ironing out a few details but everything was clean and crisp. The rooms we stayed in were same price but one had a really great view and layout. The other was fine just not as spacious feeling from the layout and no real view to speak of. The breakfast was great and the location was great for us!

Good location, worth the money

Sehr gute Lage des Hotels zu den touristischen Hotspots. Negativ: Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer war nicht zufriedenstellend. Während unseres Aufenthalts von einer Woche wurde der Boden kein einziges Mal geputzt. Die Putzkräfte haben sehr oberflächlich gearbeitet und Toilettenpapier wurde nicht immer aufgefüllt. Frühstücksangebot: es komplett anders wie auf dem Bildern dargestellt. Angebot war eher mangelhaft. In den Zimmern waren die Fenster und Türen undicht beziehungsweise defekt. Personal hatte einen unmotivierten Eindruck hinterlassen.

We hade a nice stay at galatanhotel for 7 night. The room was perfect for two people with a view on Suleymane Mosque and Ristem Pasha Mosque (Fatih area). The staff was very friendly. The hotel is near to the tram T1 and the metro M2. If we travel again to Istanbul we’ll book it without hestitation.

Preis&Leistung 100 Prozent erfüllt. Einzige was unangenehm war der muffige Geruch in den Zimmer liegt wohl an den alten Rohren aber wie gesagt für den Preis in Ordnung.
