Beautiful property with a great pool and convenient access to the beach as well. Only suggestion would be to offer a restaurant where we can order a meal as all four dining options were either buffet or set course menus. All of which way overpriced so we ended up going into the city after Day 2 instead. Otherwise a great experience and would recommend this property to anyone travelling to Ishigaki!
The property was very nice modern and clean. The staff was very friendly but they need more English speaking staff. The beach was disappointing, the sand was yellowish and one could hardly walk to the shore because of the small pieces of coral in it. The restaurant Hanare was the best!!!!!! Loved the 10 course dinner. That chef deserves a Michellin star! Great for families with small kids.
Nice resort. Seems very kid friendly which may not be for everyone. Food is good but options limited and expensive. Rent a car and drive around the island which is amazing and largely undeveloped except for farms.
My wife and I stayed at the property four nights. Arriving to the property was very easy via the hotel shuttle. It’s a quick ride to the hotel, about 25 minutes. The hotel staff were very warm and welcoming when we arrived, a short time before checkin. Anyone who did not speak English, found someone who did. The pool was ideal for children and adults, the beach was clear and calm. Imagine Hawaii, but it’s Japan’s version. The drinks were nice at the bar. The rooms were quite spacious. The gym was awesome, never crowded. The morning breakfast had every option available to mankind. The dinners were amazing at the outside barbecue, it included all you could drink and eat. All the hotel guest were very polite and family oriented. It was a nice place to stay after a busy week across the country. Thank you Fusaki Beach 🙇♂️
Amazing pool area and beach, as well as dining options. However, I was SHOCKED when I couldn’t find any deodorant at either one of the hotel stores. They had NAIL CLIPPERS and ALOE SUNBURN GEL but NO DEODORANT!!?
Great landscaping and vantage on the sea. Too many rules and hidden costs.
A nice hideout with a sunset
The resort has everything and and a nice sunset. Everything is fine. Just the English standard of the staff need to improve for non Japanese tourists. One of the staff Ami , was the only one speak English and could help us.
You can basically get everything done within the resort. Great location as it’s right next to the beach, and swimming pool for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately one of the restaurant were unavailable for the first 2 days of our stay, but plenty of dining options available. Overall a pleasant stay!
Service was excellent !
Our stay here was unbelievably amazing. I hadn't researched the resort and amenities too much before or after booking, so we were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We especially loved all the dining options, which were not wildly expensive and such great quality and value — we looked forward to the breakfast buffet every morning, and our dinner at Haruke which was a full 11 course menu was better than the Michelin star restaurants we ate at while staying in Kyoto during this Japan trip. We've already told all our friends and family about this place, and we can't wait to come back again in the next year or two.
Almost perfect, except for the long queue to check in..
The staff were professional with their service.
Bath room was tiny. No refill of toilet paper and water bottle unless I ask.
Let down.
Last time we stayed in the Grand Terrace building which is a new facility. However this time we stayed in one of the Villas. These villas are dated and unaware of that we were really looking forward to having our own villas with patio. Sadly the age of these villas shows. For $300 a night I was expecting better.
Very helpful staff
Everything felt fresh and clean with good quality fixtures. Loved the pool and having a gorgeous beach right out the front of the resort. Good location a very short drive to town but far away enough to feel like an escape
Excellent
Excellent resort stay with kids
Excellent resort to stay with kids and play in pool Indoor/outdoor as well beach is nice which has many watersports activities available . Beach also has basic snorkeling which is useful for kids to learn before heading out to bigger snorkel spots around Ishigaki . Breakfast was also nice.
Excellent! Amazing for kids!
It was very good and the only thing I have complain was about the weather. I love to go back there this autumn.
Pool and grounds are beautiful. I loved the building exteriors and beautiful location on the beach. But I found the rooms very average. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom needed a major update. The staff was also a little frustrating. They would not let us check in one minute before 3pm. The buffet dinner was great, but a little expensive. The breakfast buffet was great and included.
Excellent stay
We had an excellent stay. Room near the beach and large swimming pool. Very good facilities ( indoor and outdoor pool) and public bath
Lovely facilites, good outdoor pool with splash park the kids loved. Nice shingle beach with a swimming area that is lifeguarded. Indoor pool and onsen were fabulous, brand new facility, spotless. The buffet breakfast was also amazing and felt covid safe with a requirement that people wear masks and gloves while at the buffet. The downsides
The breakfast buffet was amazing. The layout of the facility is unique in Japan. Loved everything about it.
Great hotel but a funny time to visit.
The hotel in general is fab, the pool and beach especially. We stayed at at time where only 1 restaurant (out of 4/5) was opened so we where sad not to experience the other bars and restaurants which looked nice. With only 1 restaurant opened the whole weekend, the hotel was lacking in some simple services like bar/lunch service at the pool area and easy access to food for the kids during the day. I would come back again to this hotel when they are fully open.
Lovely resort
Wonderful resort with clean big rooms, fun splash pool for kids, beautiful sunset view by the beach, delicious food and free parking. A bit on the expensive side. Staff spoke very limited English. Overall, lovely place to stay.
Great stay just a few simple improvements
Lovely resort with very friendly helpful staff. It is a shame to pay so much and then not have anywhere to unpack your belongings if you are staying for a while. It would also be good to increase the swimming area that they net off if they do not want you to swim outside of it. The evening buffet is very similar to the breakfast and not worth the price. Everything else to do with the stay was great.
Fabulous position with lovely Swimming Pool and loungers. We stayed on a breakfast / board basis which we would recommend. The breakfast buffet is superb. Dinner buffet too is amazing but expect to pay around £50 per head. There is a cordoned off part of the beach with nets to stop deadly box jellyfish being a risk for swimmers (something you really need to be aware of June- October here and which curtails swimming somewhat). On a more positive note you can hire a snorkel set (about 2000 yen for 4 hours) and find Nemo and a wealth of other amazing fish right at the beachfront without going on any other tour. Staff were helpful. If we had one negative comment to make it was that my wife and daughter were asked three times during our stay whether we were hotel guests. In one case someone who appeared to be a member of staff asked my 15 year old daughter what her room number was. That’s bang out of order. Who knows who they were. We found this pretty intrusive and given we were probably one of only a couple of ‘western’ guests in the whole resort we stuck out like a sore thumb and so i don’t understand why they found the need to keep asking us. I hope we weren’t being singled out. Anyway that left a bitter taste in the mouth. Guests should also note there is substantial building going on at this resort. Hope this doesn’t put too much strain on the existing resources because that would be a real pity.
Must try this resort
Beautiful resort and facility! It is perfect place for family vacation! Look forward to visit again after the resort expansion 2020
Not so good!
Nice hotel with nice staffs. Sunset beach but far away to city. If you drive, it will be better.
Could have been better.Breakfast was the highlight
English speaking staff not available. Not told at check-in that we needed to reserve to eat dinner. It was all booked so NO dinner for us! Long and costly taxi ride to eat in town (that we were not expecting). 1 animated and rude male staff member. Other staff did not really give proper information as they were not very well seasoned. Nobody was attentive and service was poor for price paid. Buffet breakfast was varied and tasty. That was the best part of our stay! Beach was not memorable. Make sure you post on door whether you want your room cleaned. They give you credit if you let them skip your room cleaning, but the instructions were not clear at check-in and it was a surprise when our room had been cleaned. They do have a free shuttle to and from the airport but it is not clear where to meet at the airport. The shuttle picks up for several hotels and the meeting spot is outside in the private shuttle parking lot - turn left and walk past the buses as you exit the airport.
The highlights of our visit was our individual cottage, which had a very nice view of the pool and bay beyond. During our stay a typhoon near the Phillipines meant that most of our 4 day stay was impacted by some wind and rain, causing the Resort to close the pool, outdoor resturants etc. The included breakfast is nice, but the afternoon and evening dining choices are limited. As you are quite far from town this can be a problem if you don't have a rental car.
It would be better if the hotel prepare multiple laundry machines. Now they have only one set.
Terrible Hotel, don’t do it!
It’s complete chaos when you walk in, no one is there to greet you, the front desk does not even look up to make eye contact. The same person that checks you in is the same person that takes you to your room so it’s completely unorganized and no one is ever at the front desk long enough to remember they called a taxi for you. The rooms are basic and way too over priced. You can stay at Club med for the same price and it is ten times better. The food!! Horrible. I was hungry my entire stay. Please don’t stay here, it will ruin your experience in Ishigaki entirely.
Great ocean front resort
We arrived at Fusaki Resort Village on June 2018. We booked Deluxe Cottage for 4. Our room is a stand alone village. We had four beds lined up next to each other. It had a sitting area with table and chairs. It’s bathroom was standard sized and clean. The pool was located right behind our room which was a bonus to us. The pool had three levels and the water was really warm. There was also a kiddie pool playground with slides. The beach was right next to the pool. The ocean water was warm compared to that of Okinawa. The water wasn’t really clear, but we saw baby fish. The ocean floor was rocky with lots seaweed and uncomfortable to swim in. The dinners that the resort provided were very expensive. Breakfast was good. They had fruits, soba noodles, pastries, curry, and guava juice. It’s a beautiful resort with inviting pool and beach without breaking the bank.
Beautiful hotel with Akagawara (Okinawa-style red roof tiles) lodging with a mix of modern pool areas. We were lucky to experience reopen pool areas with 3 big adults pool and water sliders for kids and adult. The breakfast here is also good, me and my husband always make Yaeyama soba (local noodle). We loved Umibudou (Sea grapes) and Yaeyama soba from one of the restaurant Yuntaku.
Fantasy Island
We loved our stay here with a couple of exceptions. 1). Beds are very hard. 2). The website stated Airport shuttle 24 hours if scheduled in advance, this is not the case. So make sure you check the shuttle schedule, we had to take a Taxi in. 3). The restaurants are quite expensive, they need a couple cheaper options. Overall beautiful resort, wonderful staff and gorgeous location. We will return.
Nice hotel
Hotel overall is perfect! Except there's a bit of odour in the washroom which make this stay less pleasant.
fusaki in May
Stayed at the Visalia resort village in May 2018. The property is located on the southwest corner of ishigaki, which is ideally situated between the downtown restaurants on the south part of the island and all the beautiful beaches on the northern part of the island. The property itself is outdated, and the rooms are fair at best. Beware the salamanders that frequently find their way into the room. The shower is small. The breakfast is uninspiring. The beach was a little rocky, but they did provide towels and chairs. The best part about this property was the location and the free parking. It was absolutely not worth the peak seasons nightly rate. You should rent a car when staying at this property.
Nice hotel, outside town and on the beach
Good service, good location, good restaurants. We had a good time overall. However, no where was it mentioned when we booked that there is a construction going on at the hotel - the pool and one of the restaurants were closed and there was lots of noise all day. We did receive hotel vouchers worth $40 (for 3 nights) as compensation - not much but this isn't really the point. We should have been made aware of the construction when we booked and given a choice to decide whether we want to book or not. We still had a good time despite the inconvenience.
Excellent stay
Excellent. Clean and staff were very polite. Some communication problems but they always tried. Not affected by construction next door. Pool closed at this time of the year but water sport centre had excellent activities by the beach. Stayed in Garden Terrace Superier room - 2 adults and 4 children
nice property; although there was major construction going on ~
Great four days in the sun!
We stayed for four nights as part of a tour of Japan; the island itself was excellent and the hotel was great. We stayed in a garden terrace room and had a sea view; the room was huge and newer than the others in the resort. The hotel had some great points; the beach was very very nice, a great sunset view and we had no issues with sun loungers. The water was also excellent. There were good and easily available services including laundry (standard cost, not hotel cost) and ice machines etc. The location of the hotel means that the surrounding areas/the city are not walkable so a car may be recommended - we used the "resort route" bus which was grand - we got into the city in the morning for the port (boat trips) and into the city at night for eating. The bus was not that regular so you were a little bit restricted and always needed to taxi back in the evening costing around £10 a time. The only slight negative was the breakfast; it was Ok was 90% for the Asian tourist and not so much for the westerner. An excellent choice for relaxing although this is a family resort, not a couples one - despite this we had an excellent time!
Relaxing beachside resort
The resort was relaxing although the resort itself could possibly do with a little refurbish, as it is showing its age in a few places. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful where possible, although it helps if you can speak a little Japanese. They also offer a 1000 yen rebate per night if you choose not to have your room cleaned, which is a nice idea to help the environment a little. Generally a good base from which to explore Ishigaki, although a car is a must.
5/5
The hotel grounds are even better than I thought they might be. Amazing place, especially for the price. Limited English support but I still would recommend to English only speaking folks.
So So hotel
The beach wasn't all that good. The beach water felt very warm and seems like a dead sea. This is not the fault of the hotel, it is just the location of the beach. If you are into water sports like we do, this is not the beach resort you want to go.
The resort is off the main road and quiet. Highly recommend renting a car from the airport to explore the island. Room was clean and well air conditioned. The staff was professional and helpful. Did not eat in the restaurant but instead ate at other places around the island including the Intercontinental Hotel. The pool seemed clean and used by children, but did not use. The beach seemed clean, but snorkeled elsewhere on the island.
Family Resort
We had a great stay for 7 nights. The English fluency of the staff really helped a lot! Only disappointment was the breakfast, very poor value. Room was great and probably even better for families with children than couples.
Relaxing stay
Very cosy! Awesome beach with fishes at even swallow water. Friendly staff who could speak simple English. Breakfast was fine though I expected more options. Room is lovely and comfy. Quite far away from downtown but not a problem for those driving. Ideal for people desire to free from hustle and bustle.
My overall stay was great. However, for western travelers don't expect a western breakfast buffet. The hotel served a few western option which were cereal, yogurt, fruit, sausage, bacon, toast, and eggs. The eggs were cooked differently, they had an egg drop soup like texture. My stay was great and recommend this hotel for those that are looking for a quite place, affordable, and great costumer service
Friendy pleasing staff quiet resort excellant
Good food courteous staff able to snorkel. Nothing too much trouble.
Relax in Paradise
Great getaway environment. Wi-fi only available in room if you borrow wi-fi "walker" from the front desk.
Nice holiday resort with beautiful beach
This beautiful resort is right next to the beautiful Fusaki beach, about 10 to 15 min drive away from Ishigaki busy town centre with plenty of parking. The hotel staffs are friendly, polite with good English. The bungalow style room we stayed is very spacious, clean and well equipped with air conditioning. The hotel also has several coin laundries, vending machines, convenience store and three different types of restaurants. For adventure seekers, it provides plenty of water sport activities at the local beach and arranges short trips to nearby islands. We enjoyed this resort very much during our stay.
Good Restaurant and Near The Beach
There are endless good comments about this resort. First, the private beach was beautiful even during sunset and star gazing at night. There is a Beach Activities counter near the beach where we can opt for water activities such as snorkeling. The Japanese Dining Yuntaku gave me good experience in tasting the local Okinawan Food at a near fine dining experience. I even had my first try of Puffer Fish ( The staff dont know what puffer fish is and even draw it out for us). The staff really help us out to the max even though their English is minimal. I appreciate it. The room is simply clean. Cant detect wifi in the room (Wifi only at lobby) however during out second night we get to borrow a portable wifi which is essential. All toiletries are provided. Breakfast was western Japanese that's great. There is a convenient store that opens till midnight and a hotel store where u can get all sort of souvenirs from Okinawa. We will be back :)
Fusaki Beach Resort Hotel & Villas | Home in Ishigaki | Travala.com
Fusaki is an amazing resort! Everything you need for a fun and relaxing family vacation all in one. My family of 5 stayed in a 3-bed tatami room. We have plenty space and a balcony. The shower was hot and the toilet in a separate room to ease morning congestion inside the room. It's December and consider off season so some amenities or excursions were not available. We made good use of the indoor pool, spa, available restaurants. The breakfast was excellent and included. Dinner in the Ishigaki Bold Kitchen was exceptional as well. We recommend renting a car as the resort is in a peaceful area of the island, so transportation is a must if you want to explore. Lastly, my family and I recommend this resort for a family vacation and we are already planning to return!
