Great place,, second visit this year, hopefully i come back next may, Staff super great ,, all of them
Friendly staff , convenience, services available like massage , scooter hire , front desk activity booking and taxi booking. Would stay again
Must work a bit in cleaning, just a bit more
Hotel needs some work to look fresh. Staff was not the very helpful, location isn't the best either except if you take the Sapa Express bus which is next door. The worst part of my stay at the hotel was breakfast. It was disgusting, food looked awful I literally walked out every morning and went to a restaurant. Hotel is ok for 1-2 nights I guess
-
Hotel is very basic but convenient. Staff were ver helpfull. They offered us a room to refresh before our train journey in the evening. Il
Pool was not in service and dirty. Gym was also shut down. Rooms are older than photos appear
Below average
Bellow average , not very clean. Poorly built hotel, tin walls, bathroom not up to standards. Only positive side staff with big smiles and warm welcome.
Smelly pillows
Despite the friendly staff, the pillow situation was a letdown—two out of three reeked of sweat. Additionally, paying for a mountain view ended up being a subpar experience.
We paid for mountain view and we didn’t disappoint what we have. The property is a bit away from the street so a bit quiet. You need to hike a bit but most people should be ok. I won’t recommend a wheelchair person unless you go in/out using taxi/grab or bus. Traditional wet market doesn’t seems traditional at all. It is only 5 minutes away. ‘Gringo’ price is at least twice more expensive. Try less than half for the asking price.
Great position. Staffs are very kind and helpful.
I give 8/10 points for the hotel.
Alice was unbelievably helpful our whole stay. We were allowed to check in super early after taking the night train. The breakfast was very good, both the day we had the buffet and the day we had to order off of the menu. Alice booked our train tickets and transfer to Lao Cai and let us use a room to shower after trekking after we had already checked out.
Very friendly service, clean, comfortable.
Wonderful service, fast laundry, clean, comfortable, nice shower in room. Comfortable room and location convenient to town for restaurants. Gym is small but ok. Booked (through hotel) 1-day trekking to local villages, and it was a great tour, but beware the local women will follow you for miles and pressure you to buy souvenirs from them. Our guide also bypassed the valley ticket entrance booth, and I realized she was supposed to put our tour money toward a ticket for us to keep. But we still had a great time on the trek and would recommend.
Great central location
Perfect location close to town and easily walkable to everything you need. Great selection. For breakfast
Very nice hotel and location. Hotel staff are the key assets. They are always smiling and ready to help. Bathrooms need some better maintainence as drainage have some issue rest all the facilities arr excellent.
Unforgettable breakfast!!!!
The service was excellent, but the hotel needs some improvements in the hall of the rooms.
The Noisiest Hotel in Sapa
This is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at and it was impossible to get a good night’s sleep. First of all our “Mountain View” room was just above a major highway where trucks blared their horns all night. Then, just in front of the hotel, was a disco pumping out music until midnight. The walls were so thin we could hear guests yelling in their rooms and In the halls.
This property is very tired. The carpets in the communal areas are really stained and worn. Is OK as a basic one night stop over but I wouldn't want to stay any longer. There are much nicer hotels in Sapa.
It is clean, but a bit old. Location is up a hill and for those who can't walk very well, it will be a challenge to walk uphill to the hotel. Overall, good experience, staff are helpful and friendly. Food is average but acceptable.
The staff are friendly and courteous; the location is good.
This hotel is excellent value for money and the staff are particularly courteous and helpful
This hotel need to be update. The good side of this hotel is the location.
The reception staffs are great! Friendly and efficient!. Compliments to Anna, Alice, Nancy and Sarah .. very helpful, cheerful and good. The only defect is that the slope up to hotel from the outside! Hotel could have make arrangement for shuttle pick up device for hotel guest at some pick up points! With such steep slope, we middle age also find it tough to walk up .. let alone senior old folks, how are they gonna walk up such steep slope back to hotel? Slope down out of hotel also dangerous! Ought to do something about it! The breakfast! Variety too limited and Everyday the same nothing to look forward to! Quality fail!
Every member of staff were kind, helpful and extremely polite. They organised a great trek with a local guide and room had a great view of the mountain. Heated pool was good to relax in after waking all day.
The room door had a long gap on the trim such that anyone standing at the door can peer into the room and be able to see inside clearly. When i informed the staff , they seemed to have been aware of the problem. She anticipated what I was going to say even before I finished telling her the problem, which leads me to wonder why the hotel had not fixed it to begin with? The front desk girl then said she'll ask someone to fix the problem, which was simply to put sealant in the gap - a temporary fix. Towels provided in the rooms were very worn - some were torn - and smelled dank like they have never been dried properly. With mist and fog common in the area, using a dryer (or a more powerful one) would go a long way. Service staff were otherwise very friendly and helpful.
Disappointing
The hotel feels rather shabby. Surprised to be told that it was only one year old. The reception and waiting staff were lovely and friendly but the hotel itself felt rather miserable. Our room had torn wallpaper, which we repaired with a glue stick (a five minute job which was not difficult) because we were worried that we would be blamed, despite it being in this condition on our arrival. The toilet seat was also broken. The welcome file had a list of costs for anything which got broken but very little other information. The map of the local area we were given was a hand drawn photocopy. Surprised that there were no standardised leaflets with local information of the type we were given in other Vietnamese tourist spots. We were here during Tet, thinking that it would be a good place to explore, when everything was closed for the holidays. We love Vietnam and we're surprised that a tourist location such as this should be such a disappointment. The landscape is stunning but we never found a way to discover it properly. Aside from the friendly hotel staff, it was a genuine disappointment. The hotel arranged an organised trip to Bac Ha market, which cost $125 but was equally disappointing. To be honest, we were glad to leave and regretted spending five days here.
Great value
Very spacious room, everything was great. Thank you very much!
Nice staff. Food in hotel restaurant fair, better food in town.
Very friendly and helpful staff that spoke good English, location was away from the downtown noise and KTV bars, breakfast was great with lots of options, and the pool was nice.
A safe choice in Sa Pa for Western Tourists
Friendly accommodating staff, nice Spa, clean comfortable room. Restaurant has a good menu for Western Vietnamese fusion tastes, not too overbearingly Vietnamese.
The indoor swimming pool was awesome to swim and relax in cold Sapa weather....friendly receptionist and staff.
the staff were amazing! great location, walking distance to everything
Nice clean modern spacious room.
We stayed for 2 nights with 3 people. The room was very clean and spacious. Very modern. The toilet was electronic and the seat was kept warm...quite the novelty. Breakfast was okay. Jenny at the front desk was very good. A 5 minute walk to the main town square. Close to restaurants and pubs. We rented motorcycles and they brought them to the hotel . Very convenient I would stay here again.
The hotel is in a quiet location with beautiful views over the mountain. There is a nightclub just down the hill and I was there during the week, we didn't hear anything at all, however on a weekend - I wouldn't be so sure. Aside from that, the property serves a great breakfast, the facilities with the heated pool, I really enjoyed and the front desk especially Jenny made our stay very welcoming and she couldn't do enough for us. Great hotel in general, would definitely recommend.
This is THE place you should stay
Sapa Freesia is fantastic. Staffs Jenny, Phuong and Dzung are very friendly. Any Sgreans read this, this is the place.
Outstanding Hotel
Welcoming staff. Clean room. Delicious food for breakfast that includes both local and western choices. Great location to shops and restaurants.
It was great service from check in to check out. Restaurant services are awesome. It is above our expectation that the hotel offered a room for us to freshen up after check out and before we started our 5 hr return trip to Hanoi. Food at restaurant is great.
Nice hotel to relax and enjoy the views of Spa
I took the night train to Sapa for the experience and what an experience that was. I’ll tell about it in another review. I arrived early in AM because the train gets in at 6 am. When I arrived, I was greeted by a very warm smile by Thu, one of the concierges. They asked for my passport to copy then seated me with some warm tea while they confirmed my reservations. Additionally, this is a an extremely early check in. My stay was relaxing. It was nice to take a nice hot bath to relax my muscles and bones after the night train ordeal. I walked into town and had lunch, meet friends for dinner and walked back. It is conveniently located and has beautiful views of the mountains. The breakfast buffet was a nice touch. The staff were all very nice and courteous but Thu stood out for me. At check out, she ordered a taxi for me. Helped me with my bag outside. Waited for the taxi and talked to the driver to make sure he knew where to take me. We took a photo together for a keepsake. It was a great experience. I would recommend this hote to anyone looking for a bit of luxury in their travels in Viet Nam.
Nice but needs improvement
When we checked in, we said that we are vegetarian but in the breakfast was only vegetable with meat. We thought that in the next morning we could eat something but again they served the same meal with meat. We felt inconvenience evry time we asked for plate of only vegetables. In addition, No hot water in the morning(6 am), only around 8 am. Although all this, we have to say that the service was amazing and after a long trip, it gave us feeling of home :) The hotel team knew how to solve our problems. Thanks.
Wonderful 4 nights in heaven!
We stayed for 4 nights in Deluxe Family room in late September. The room, breakfast, service and even the weather, everything was so perfect! We were told that the hotel is located a bit away from the center but it was only 10 min walk and walking around the lake in cool wind was actually very nice. Location was not at all a problem to us even for my 60 year old mother. Hot water swimming pool was a perfect bonus after a busy day. Highly recommend this hotel to various groups of travellers.
Friendly staff
The staff are friendly and helpful...
Good location in Sapa
Location very close to main square. We were stopping over after some days trekking so very tired and sore. This was the perfect hotel for us to rest and relax in. The pool is indoors and very warm in temperature, which doesn't cool you down on a hot day! The staff we extremely friendly and helpful to us too.
Facility is worn out, and has a molding, funky smell.
The worst thing in this hotel: the pool is too hot... Otherwise, very nice and clean place. Amazing staff.
It was clean and comfortable - staff was very polite and professional. The staff also had integrity on returning us our money without realizing we paid more for our drinks.
I was in Asia for almost 20 days and this was best
I don’t often write reviews, but this hotel was awesome and the best of the hotels I stayed up during my 3 week trip. The staff was extremely accommodating and upon leaving I ran into the owner who said that he “advises staff to treat guests like family.” This is one of the few hotels I’ve been at that seems to practice what they preach in that regard!
Brilliant staff with great advice
Knowledgeable and very helpful front desk staff with very good English. Three night stay. Highly efficient organisation of trekking expeditions into hill tribe villages, with knowledgeable and charming guide. Good breakfasts offering many choices; something for everyone. Easy walking to town centre and a variety of restaurants and cafes, some of which offered good quality French wine at reasonable prices. Maybe arranging a service to pick up bus travellers would be a good idea. (Taxi tout avoidance skills necessary).
Simple three-star hotel
This is a simple three-star hotel in a town where it is very difficult to find high standard accommodation. While the rooms have been refreshed, the common areas (especially the carpets) are tired-looking. Breakfast was limited in variety but did include some local dishes. The location near the lake seemed appealing but most people would probably prefer to be overlooking the lush valleys of Sapa. One strong point was the excellent email communication from the hotel
Great hotel in Sapa
The hotel stay was great. The team at the hotel did their best to make our stay fantastic.
Best service ever.
Overall the stuffs were helpful and friendly. Excellent service
Beautiful Sapa
Comfortable and welcoming .very helpful and friendly staffs.
Great place to stay in Sapa
Reception was excellent, so was restaurant and housekeeping, furnishing is simple but adequate, located near green bus stop from hanoi and town centre
VERY HAPPY CHOICE
EXcellent stay. David, the owne is present and attentive. Speaks excellent English, as does most ofthe staff. Location is superb, quiet, above the city and a walk within one kilometer to the center. The beautiful lake is right below. Great views of city and mountains. Helped with a trekking guide and on-going bus to Dien Bien Phu. The hotel as a very happy choice for me.
Would stay here again when in Sapa
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially Anna and An. All the staff were able to communicate well in English which was a very big plus for me as I know virtually no Vietnamese.
Excellent hospitality, one of the best
Nice hotel that feels and looks established even though it is only a year old. The staff could communicate well in English, and they were really helpful with great customer service. When my companion fell sick, I borrowed a thermometer from them and they offered medicine as well. Further, when I needed a sim card, they drove me out to the sim card store to obtain it. Breakfast had a good spread and it was delicious. Heating in the room was also good. Would stay again and also recommend for those looking for a good place to stay away from the city centre!
Very nice hotel on hill away from downtown
A good stay only marred by lousy weather in Sapa. Not much to do in this town in the winter when it is usually very foggy and then it rains! Still, this is a nice new hotel sitting on the hill above the town.
Wonderful Hotel
The hotel is wonderful. What you see is what you get. The room was super clean and tidy. Awesome room service. Ordered food and laundry service. Both was beyond expectations. Food was great and the laundry service was fast and well cleaned. The staff there were so polite and helpful. Going beyond by giving us a room to shower before our night train. Really amazed by that. The only thing to improve is the breakfast buffet. Overall it was a good experience and to the staff keep up the good work.
One of the new hotel in Sapa with walking distance to town. Breakfast is good with lots of variety especially on fruits. Staff there is friendly as well. They provide most of the information relating to tour.
Really large and comfortable rooms. Nice breakfast, really nice staff who let us take a shower in a spare room even though we already checked out, before boarding our overnight train. Only gripe is that location is off central Sapa Town but not a big deal.
Lovely hotel with exceptional staff.
We are retired vagabonds who enjoyed our Sa Pa travels. You do not need to be a Trekker to visit here though that is mostly who is here. The town itself has an " old west" vibe and is very noisy from all the big busses y trucks. The Freesia is just far enough away to be nice y quiet. The breakfast is the best we have seen anywhere in SE Asia. I also highly recommend the blue margarita! 90 Minute massage was fabulous. Front desk staff very professional. Thanks for a lovely Stay!
Good: the breakfast buffet is excellent, the staff tries hard to make guests happy, and the location is both close to walking around town as well as short drive to nearby attractions. Not so great: one of the rooms had a very musty smell, and we were able to change it to another room, but the elevator and the hallways also have a noticeable smell. The shower is non-intuitive to use and we had to call down to get someone to come help us. Same is true for the lights (the only way to turn off the lights in the room is next to the bed; most of the other light switches don't do anything). And same is true for the temperature control.
Great hotel with Mountain and city view
The view from the room is awesome, staffs are friendly and helpful.overall stay is great. Just that we booked bus for going to Halong with pick up from Sapa to Lao Cai, the bus from Lao Can to Halong is bad, more of local bus than a sleeper for tourists. Never provide water bottle, no toilet on bus, no info on where they gonna stop for toilet breaks. I suggest hotel should link up with better bus operators than this bus. Hotel itself is no doubt one of the best in Sapa.
Best hotel in Sa Pa
Fantastic stay in a clean, comfortable, and great hotel
Friendly and extremely accommodating
We loved our stay in Sapa, especially the village trekking tour and the service we had at Freesia. The hotel allowed us to check in 6 hrs early and stay 6 hrs later at no charge. They booked our tour for us on short notice and made accommodations for our 4 yr old to do the trek with the least amount of walking. The food was good on the buffet but not memorable. The service was excellent and efficient. Overall I would highly recommend to couples with or without children.
Newer hotel in good location
Very happy with our hotel in Sapa. The staff is excellent and the room we had was comfortable and clean. Good breakfast and easy walking distance to Sapa attractions. Good value.
One of the nicest in Sapa
Had good experience staying at Freesia. Staff was friendly, the amenities are good. Their fish hotpot at the restaurant was excellent and worth the money. A bit out of the way, but this is what makes it charming. Not very crowded.
Very good location. The staff were very thoughtful. They gave us complimentary refreshments after our hikes. They allowed late check out for a very resonable price.
Excellent hotel & fabulous service
The hotel went out of their way to help. They let us check in early and check out late and were always available to help. Excellent rooms. Very comfortable and new. The beds and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly.
We really enjoyed staying at the Freesia because it was a 5-10 minute walk to the Sa Pa town centre but enough distance away so that the hotel was in a quiet area on the hill. The staff were very attentive and we were very impressed when an issue in the bathroom was seen to in less than 5 minutes by 2 staff members and they went above what was required by cleaning the whole bathroom again at 10pm at night. Reception and restaurant staff were very friendly and professional, especially Anna (Customer Care).
Great hotel with great pool
Hotel met our needs perfectly coming of 3 day family trek. The pool was a great surprise and a great facility considering the location and kids loved it. Staff were excelllent and room was up to our needs, clean and comfortable . Hotel is a bit out of centre but located on lake so not to far to walk. If I was back in Sapa again this is where I would be heading to stay again.
Good service
Staff was friendly. Also possible to rent a scooter for sightseeing which makes it convenient.
Freesia Hotel kindly allowed us to move our booking forward (we had to change our itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances) by one day at very short notice. We were also given a room upgrade with a relatively nice view. The hotel also sweetly arranged pretty room decorations (we'd liaised with them beforehand) for the commemoration of a wedding anniversary, which pleasantly surprised the couple. We had a comfortable stay in the spacious rooms, and appreciated the facilities (e.g. restaurant, massage, pool). The staff are friendly and helpful, and provided us with useful information. Although there is a slight distance from the town centre (roughly 10 minutes walk), we rather enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the hotel to other travellers.
Great location
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good and the room was very clean.
Must stay here!
Our four nights at the Freesia were amongst the best we've ever had in SE Asia. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Mr. Kong, Ana and Tgo were all so helpful and kind. Breakfast was plentiful and a nice variety of western and Asian food. The rooms are large and comfortable. Many in rooms amenities. The bed very comfortable. Good air con. The pool was not in service when we were there which was unfortunate but the staff was very apologetic.
Nice hotel
Nice hotel. Very fancy looking in comparison to others around. Had a nice 2 night stay but found the pool was closed during our stay. We were disappointed but offered a free massage for the inconvenience which was very nice of them. Found the staff to be very friendly and nice with a good level of English. Location is a little out from the town but manageable. Make sure to bring walking / hiking forward!
A new hotel so very good condition, some external work still being done but was not inconvenient. Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable bed but pillow was too soft. Breakfast had a good selection local and international food. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and spoke good English. Hotel is in a good location and able to walk to all sites in Sapa city.
Amazing!
We had an amazing time, the staff at the hotel were fantastic and very accomendating!! We are grateful to have stayed in a number of different hotels around the world, but the way the staff treated their customers here, was one of the best. Thanks!
Satisfied stay
Hotel was at a remote area which makes it quiet and perfect for resting. Just some walking distance from city centre. Clean room with big beds and good scenery view of the mountains.
Horrible
one of the best hotel options in Sapa
Excellent location , centrall to everything, but quiet, nice set dinners for a reasonable Price, helpful staff, very attentive
Best price/quality experience!!
Probably one of the best price/quality experience ever. Service goes way beyond expectation, very friendly staff.
I think hotel staffs do not yet understand service concept. I do not able to enter my car because of the hotel entrance road construction. Arriving at the hotel fronter about 5 minutes walk, And I said complaint that the hotel staff will cancel the expedia reservation and refund it without saying sorry. It was about 5 pm that it was hard to book another hotel. It was an unpleasant day.
Estancia agradable. Muy serviciales y amables. Repetiria
