We were not made aware of the construction or no pool access when we chose this hotel foe the pool for our kids.
Stayed here while participating in the Evergreen Festival in Dec 2024. The location was just up the hill from the main festivities. It is a very central location close to many amenities, restaurants, bars and groceries. The hotel is currently doing some major renos in the lobby, so it did take a little from the experience, but this is only temporary. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. The staff were friendly but not overly informed about the Evergreen Festival which was surprising as it was a significant event, but certainly did their best to help. Great hotel and great location!
The location is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel felt dated in our case loud AC and damaged bathtub.
Despite a major renovation the stay was excellent as usual. We stay here whenever we visit downtown Halifax. Always clean and staff are very friendly.
Good hotel in a convenient location
Great stay for the most part. Only issue I had was the hotel website didn’t indicate that they are under construction during my stay. It was very annoying to hear all day until 4 or 5pm.
Perfect location. Loud due to construction during.
Excellent location. Very loud construction at an adjacent property made for a loud stay. A mid afternoon courtesy call mid afternoon ended a short nap after a long day of traveling.
Rooms are dated. Hotel is well located.
Convenient
One elevator was broken the whole stay and the stairs aren’t conveniently located. Otherwise a great place to stay.
All good
Great place for a staycation
Bathroom and room need refresh. Old 80s style
The good: Front desk and restaurant staff were excellent. Food in the restaurant was tasty. Mattress was comfortable. Very walkable location- 3 blocks from train/bus station, 4 to convention centre, 6 to scotiabank centre, 7 to casino, 2 to waterfront, and restaurants and bars everywhere. The not so good: 3 adults staying for 3 days, but 2x queen room was very cramped and not suited to 3 adults - 1 chair, 1 luggage rack, very tight closet with 6 hangers for 3 people (with winter coats), and only towels initially for 1 person. ( did get a second set of towels from housekeeping, but never more than 2) No microwave, crap coffeemaker, annoyingly soft pillows, weird plasticy ‘duvet’ and a toilet so low it should be in a preschool. Worst though was the room had an adjoining room with super noisy people and ALL their noises came through the door for 3 days. So, not much sleep, continuously tripping over each other and sharing towels does not make for a happy stay. In addition, there was no breakfast included, so felt it was overpriced for what was delivered.
The rooms themselves are sufficient. They are clean and orderly, but slightly dated. The location is great. Walking to all of the downtown. Staff are fantastic.
Great hotel
Overnight date night downtown and this hotel was perfect. Very clean, beds are very comfortable, friendly staff and 5min walk from Durty Nellys & other bars/restaurants and 3min walk to waterfront. Only con is pool isn't overly big and water was cold. Hot tub would have been nice but those things are minor and we would stay hete again.
Beds/ bedding - very comfortable rooms- clean, spacious bathrooms- fair (but clean) staff- great!
Close to downtown for walking and seeing the city.
Great location but unfortunately I was located on a lower floor and people on the street could look into my room and there was major construction all day long.
Property as described. Great location. Convenient underground parking.
We liked the downtown location.
Great location?? Rooms are a little dated.
The staffcwerecexceptional
It was clean and centrally located to a great many amenities. Staff were helpful and polite.
The location is amazing. Everything was within walking distance. Great food too!
Lovely staff, great location and nice big clean rooms. I do wish there was a hot tub, but overall great stay.
Great experience. Friendly staff and very clean rooms
Close to the waterfront. Quiet for sleeping. Staff exceptionally helpful and pleasant. In and out privileges for parking was excellent. Restaurant was peaceful with great service for breakfast.
Great area
Great location
I like the place just all the out side noise keep me awake.
Close to everything downtown. Rooms are very clean.
Clean rooms, best price for waterfront/downtown location in city. Parking garage is a little cramped. Great and convenient place to stay if looking to visit Halifax for a few days.
All round excellent hotel, great location, friendly and very knowledgeable staff.
Amazing staff!! They are sweet and accommodating!!
Great location for tourists and super helpful staff.
So this wasnt my furst choice but once i k es it was now ain the marriot chain i thought i give it a try. The hotel staff were great it was clean two of the most important things to me,
The infrastructure is aging and some rooms are noisy. They do their best to accommodate guests.
My hotel room was cleaned everyday. Something you do not see all that often since the covid pandemic. It is a very convenient location as it is in the heart of downtown Halifax.
Very modern accommodations
Had booked a king room for our wedding anniversary and we were upgraded to a king suite. Very clean, comfortable and quiet (some street traffic noise, to be expected downtown). Excellent location.
Excellent!
Great staff, clean hotel, excellent food and drink from their restaurant, perfect location for exploring the waterfront.
Great place to stay in Boston
The Four Points by Sheraton continues to be our go to place to stay in Halifax. Their staff are always friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and clean, the restaurant and bar have good food and service and you can’t beat the location!
Although we had issues with the rooms (strong odour) the staff went over and above to mitigate the situation. I hear renovations are imminent and would stay again after they are complete.
Best staff in town, very accommodating and helpful, would definitely go back.
Great place to stay. Close to boardwalk and stores.
Decent place centrally located. Had to ask for towels and a shower curtain though. Shower curtain came next day.
Great location in downtown Halifax. Walk to shops, waterfront and restaurants. Beds very comfortable and the rooms were very clean.
Great hotel but only one elevator working for the whole place.
Hotel is well situated to enjoy the waterfront in downtown Halifax. Easy to get anywhere by walking. The pool was not enjoyable. Went with my daughter, food was on the floor. Pool area didn’t feel clean - we left. Also, shower in our room was very poor. Low water pressure, almost none. Only 1 elevator functioning, super long if you are travelling with stroller and cannot use stairs. Plus, stairs do not bring you to the lobby, they bring you to parking lot (which is fine). Overall was okay but will not book here again.
i liked that checkout was at noon perfect for late night and sleeping inn
It was a great place, but it would have been much better had the staff warned us about occasional blasting across the street that took place daily (and scared everyone as it shook the elevator). A little heads-up would have been nice to warn guests to expect that!! Other than that, it was a great place to stay.
One elevator wasn’t working
Nice stay
Close to waterfront and restaurants. Very clean.
The hotel is close to the pier — which made it and excellent choice. However, the room I was assigned was near the end of the corridor leading to the conference centre and restaurant and hence was very noisy.
The construction noise started early in the morning and was loud. Lasted the whole day. One elevator was down, long waits. There seemed to be sand coming into the toilet when flushing.
One elevator out of service during the stay made for long waits. Great location
Great
Excellent hotel to stay at for your visit to Halifax
This is a very well-situated hotel in downtown Halifax, within walking distance of the waterfront, ferries, and the Citadel. The room was fine, if rather dim, with too few overhead and side-table lights. The staff seemed competent, though they did not bring us promised towels.
Great location and clean.
It’s in need of a Reno. Very loud a/c, bathroom is old, only one working elevator. Not worth the money for a Marriott associated property
The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. They definitely made our stay more enjoyable. It is also an excellent location because of the walkability with the waterfront being a quick walk.
Beautiful place nice and quiet
Overall not a bad stay but only one elevator was working, long waits
It’s nice and clean.
Very good location 1 out of 2 elevators out of service made for longer wait times
.
Staff does an excellent job at providing a positive experience for guests.
Well located, but when the hotel supplies free ear plugs you should clue in that you will be needing them. A lot of construction in that area
.
Great location and walkable to all the hot restaurants and bars. Rooms are dated and need a renovation. WIFI was very spotty.
Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived so they upgraded us to a suite. We included breakfast and it was also excellent. Great service. My husband found the construction noise next door disturbing but that isn’t the hotel’s fault.
Moe at the front desk was charming and made me feel like an old friend. What an excellent employee you have there! Negative was someone had a large dog near our room. They obviously went out for the evening and left the poor dog who barked very loudly for hours and hours.
Great experience
Receptionist/front desk staff were misleading. No microwave in the room. Paid breakfast. 👎
We had an amazing time at this hotel! The location was perfect! We were able to find parking very easy and it was a short walk to the waterfront. The beds and pillows in our room were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel of this standard. The complimentary coffee/tea and water in the lobby were lovely (especially after a long day of walking up all the hills in Halifax!) the restaurant was great we were happy to enjoy happy hour cocktails from 3pm until close! We stayed over the weekend but I would assume if you stayed during the week you would hear construction noise from outside.
Great area, lovely hotel
The staff was very friendly but, for the price, some things could be improved. We had a sofa bed/King suite and the sofa bed was awful, even for kids. No bedding was provided for that so had to request and wait awhile. Our room was not ready upon check in, and while staff did provide vouchers, it did make a long day even longer. The in-hotel restaurant was fantastic and we enjoyed the food and drinks there. Location is prime- a quick two blocks to the harbour.
I love the coffee shop right beside it, and only 1 block away from the water
From the time our check was n to the checkout, the whole experience was wonderful
We really enjoyed our stay. It is a hotel that we often come back to for the comfort of the rooms and beds and the professional staff. We felt extra welcomed this time when we received a phone call shortly after arriving to our room from the front desk staff making sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely stay at Four Points again soon.
Noisy Enviroment . They don’t accept debit card. International travellers without credit card cannot pay caution deposit .
Overall was very comfortable stay
Service was amazing. Bedding had marks on the one bed and the bathtub was fixed with a piece of white duct tape.
Great stay
Great staff!
Everything was great, loved the access to the waterfront.
The property is close to the waterfront and staff are friendly and helpful, without being intrusive.
Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and answered all my questions I had about the area.
It was a comfortable room. The restaurant was passable but not excellent.
VERY DISAPPOINTED. Location was OK for water front. The room smelled bad. UPCHARGED FOR PARKING. UPCHARGED FOR BREAKFAST. IN THE END IT COST MORE THAN THE BETTER AND AVAILABLE OTHER OPTIONS - WATER FRONT MARIOTT... NOT A GOOD DOWNTOWN OPTION.
Awesome place to stay!! Staff very helpful and very friendly!! 😊
Nice hotel with a great location just a couple blocks from the wharf. Tons of dining options in the area and lots of pubs. Staff were excellent and helpful.
Construction noise was a bit loud
Great location.
Close to harbour
The hotel was clean and quiet. It looks recently renovated. The bed was amazingly comfortable. No views but close to great restaurants and coffee shops.
Great location
A good hotel close to everything in downtown Halifax.
