Safe and quiet

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, morning breakfasts had a lots of varieties of dishes from South Indian, North Indian to continental cuisines. Staff were very helpful and helped a lot. Overall, stay was enjoyable.

I booked a room for 3.. Expedia website showed option of under 18 as kids.. One of my daughter is 15 so I chose 2 adult and 1 child. At the time of check-in hotel informed that I shall have to pay for extra bed. I had no choice but to accept. We kept our baggage and went out. When we returned in the evening we found a cockroach in the room. It was promptly removed by hotel staff. After about an hour the hotel offered to change our room. However, I was not keen on picking up all the stuff and moving to another room. After the cockroach episode they informed to waive-off the extra bed charges. When the hotel lists the property on a website the terms and condition should be clear. When the guest reaches the hotel he should not be subjected to such surprises.

Expected better from an ITC 3-star hotel!

Bathroom not in good condition and needs remodeling; very narrow shower stall even for a person of average build; dirty shower stall walls and flooring; dirty and stained shower curtain; old and discolored bathroom towels (off white and not fresh smelling). Did not have breakfast even though it was included in the room tariff. So cannot comment about the food quality; bedroom was clean and comfortable; internet service was good; prefer branded water bottle in the room instead of the bottled mineral water (source and quality is dubious). Expected better quality from an ITC 3-star hotel for the room tariff. Bathroom and towels were atrocious! We stayed for one night only; did not have opportunity to check out the dining services and fitness room. Hotel location is good. The rooms need to be remodeled and maintained well to justify the lofty 3-star tariff! This is an honest and balanced review

Much improved

This hotel has recently renovated and it is an incredible improvement. The food was excellent and staff very helpful. The addition of a gym is nice but there is not a single chair or table or umbrella at the pool making it almost unusable.

Excellent propert for small conference. Staff was always helpful and went out of their way to provide any requested item or service. Room was lovely. Dining was excellent with a good selection.

Good Hotel in Udupi area. Staffs in the morning is not that pleasant. Food was great. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Good clean rooms, very good hospitality, very good ambiance, good food, decent variety in breakfast menu, good location (FYI this is in Manipal), decent amount of parking space. Room feels like of a 5-star hotel.

Staff members were cordial. Upkeep was good. Restaurant service was satisfactory. Mr. Mohapatra was very cordial as a chef and served us well.

Very bad experience....

Very disappointed with the whole check-in process. I booked a room requesting king size bed (non-smoking) as I cannot bear the smoke even for a second. And, to our dismay, I was given a smoking room. I asked for a change, and they immediately responded (thank you for the same). But, now put me in a twin bed room, and the whole room sucks. Mosquitos, bathroom stains, patches on the leaky bathroom sealing, non functioning exhaust, and the whole room décor…..sorry to say that, “you deserve nothing more than a worse rating”. I fell for it noting the ITC brand. You are no where close to it.

Great stay - basic not fancy or plush, but certainly good for a business trip stay. Conveniently located opposite the hospital and near the main strip of shops. The breakfast is served in the cafe downstairs and serves a wide variety of dishes to suit any tastes. The restaurant also serves local beer - bonus!

One of very bad experiences in the hotel ,midnight phone rings every 30 minutes very bad after complaining no action

Air conditioning did not work well. The room felt like a freezer and I got a real bad cold

Good for parents visiting there children's in college

The hotel is nicely located inside the Manipal university area and has everything within the walkable distance. The staff are friendly and have details about all the local things. The food is okay and its relatively cheap. Rooms are medium in size and it was clean and neat during my stay.

Best in the area

Best hotel in the area. Staff are attentive and food is good. Rooms are basic but clean. They have great car service to pick you up from the airport. The breakfast is basic but the col fresh eggs any way you like. Have Been here a few times and the location is great if you are working with the university. The pool is a bit out of the way as it is in the back of the property.

Have to improve paint in rooms

Uncomfortable bed, uncomfortable pillows, clogged wash basin sink, night lamp missing bulb, dampened walls, mosquito infested, dirty room view. Dirty driveway. Dilaphidated building. All in all a very diappointing experience. I am shocked that this could be a part of an ITC hotel group.

Convenient clean hotel with sumptuous breakfast

The stay was good in general. the breakfast was sumptuos and great. Service in general and at the restaurant was good. The rooms and the bathroom/toilet were kept clean. Linen was also crisp and clean. Teamaking facility in the room was also very good. House keeping is good but can improve further.The property being an old structure could do with better maintanence or a good renovation but that is from an engineers/decoartors point of view. The intercom was badly maintained and was working at its own will. Was a bit over priced for the period of our stay but then it was the busy period with convocations etc., so can forgive them...Connectivity over wifi was also good. Staff were friendly and the hotel based taxi service very good and reasonable.

Average and overpriced Hotel

It is an overpriced hotel , quality of rooms , bed linen , toiletries etc is average. Lifts go out of order quite often. This gets visitors because other options in Manipal are worse . Only plus point is staff which is courteous and helpful.

Okay for a short stay

An adequate hotel (and the best of the options for Manipal) but it needs work. Helpful staff. Food was not bad and the prices were good. The price of the room was high for the quality. I would recommend keeping th pool open from 1-3 (when I wanted it the most) and getting more than four chairs.

for people with money to throw

very expensive. poor quality restaurant. was charged rs 2000 for a FREE boat ride on the river. not a value for money hotel there are plenty of options in manipal.

A decent hotel for a short stay

The stay at Fortune Inn was very satisfactory. The room was clean & comfortable. The location was a little difficult for us to spot, while driving at night. However the breakfast spread was excellent & the food was awesome. Definitely recommend to visitors for a short stay.

This is the only decent hotel in the area. Front desk staff and concierge are courteous. Furniture dated though and needs refreshing. Otherwise a pleasant stay there.
