Convenient in downtown Fort de France. Always very firendly staff and good communication prior to visit. Can be reached by city bus from the airport in 30 min, or cab.
Very desapointed that we did not have hot waters nor pressure waters for 3 days to take our showers.
The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Good location at the waterfront and there were many options for food.
CLEAN ROOM, GREAT LOCATION
Great room. Excellent location. Water was nice and hot, but needed more pressure in shower. Can’t understand why my feet always get dusty walking around in clean room. AC was great too.
On the Park
Everything was excellent except for one critical issue. There was no water pressure and very little hot water. Taking a shower was virtually impossible.
Convenient but not elegant!
The property is very convenient for everything in central Fort-de-France. Although it has a kitchenette it isn't very well equipped. No bottle opener for our tonic. The building is rather run down. The bed is comfortable.
This is a very decent hotel in a good location. We stayed here prior to leaving on a cruise on MSC. The cruise terminal wasn't as close as I had thought, but still only about a 10 minute walk. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the rooms are nice. The only issues we had were the water pressure, which was very low, and as a result it took a long time to get hot water. The other issue is the outside noise. There was some sort of club or something nearby that played loud music until very late. There was also a lot of noise from activities in the park until late. One night there was a very loud marching band that walked right by at least three times, the last one around midnight. Also, the hotel only has european outlets, but the front desk had a plug adapter that we could use. Overall, we would stay here again but want to give full disclosure for other guests.
Fort Savane
Nice hotel close to a beach and restaurants
Enjoyed my stay
This hotel was reasonably priced and extremely clean. I loved the friendliness of the staff, and that they were able to converse in french and English. I would definitely use this hotel again.
I was late, but reception was wonderful and my room is great. More than I expected.
Excellent location
Excellent location and value. The area does not feel very safe at night. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The property was emaculate. However, the area around the property is not clean or safe.
Everything
I really liked the fact that everything was close to the hotel, felt safe like i was at home. Tried many restaurant all were amazing excellent service and food..the concierge at the hotel were very helpful always smiling and welcoming. We had a great time wish we could stay longer.
Fort Savane offered so many amenities, it was absolutely great! I will be back, and stay much longer.
Great downtown location, excellent staff and service. Walkable. Enjoyed our stay.
Great staff and clean place. Perfect overall!
Best location to take ferries to other worthy spots - point du bout, Anse a l’âne et le bourg des 3 îlets. Apart from the ferries, everything else in the area is practically shut down on Saturday evenings, Sundays and holidays. Nothing to eat and nowhere to go. Best go to point du bout.
I probably should have done my research. This place has no pool, though there is a small beach nearby with no bathroom facilities. There was not always someone at the reception desk.
Olivia was a great host. Very helpful. Right on the water with nice views and good restaurants
Fort Savane was conveniently located close to the port, many restaurants and points of interest. We found the staff very helpful and pleasant when we asked for assistance. Would stay there again and recommend to others.
Great location. Helpful staff. We brought earplugs as it can get noisy as it is next to a big park. Waterfront is steps away.
Realy comfortable hotel. Its walking distance from everything in the city. Customer service was great.
The location is in a lively area, right in the center of Fort de France. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The reception is closed during the night, but there is a phone number available to call the staff anytime, if needed. The free WiFi connection is good, but with some interruptions. The room is spacious and has a nice park view. The bed is large and comfortable. There is tea and coffee maker in the room. There are only French-speaking channels available on TV.
Location is ideal. Cleanliness of bathroom can be better (bathroom shower wall needs to be regrouted). Bathroom decor can be improved (no artwork or accent pieces). No floor mats or rugs. Coffee was excellent. I stayed in room called bogota.
Great Customer Service. Jennifer at the front desk was very courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful.
Great location. Electricity went out first night - no air conditioning. No screens in the windows so they couldn’t be left open for air circulation.
It was cool right next to the waterfront a lot of food near by
good hotel, mediocre service
Clean and comfort room, great location. Bathroom door was loose, and fell near us. we tried to complain but no one addressed. We returned from our cruise and asked to keep our luggage for a day, we received a harsh no.
Location was ideal for getting to know Fort-de-France. close to shopping, ferry terminals, on bus routes & a huge municipal park. Rooms were minimal but functional. Air conditioning worked very well. But repairs were not up-to-date. Ex: 2 out of the 3 rooms I was assigned to, the safe did not work. Probably not reported but an important amenity missed.
If someone is looking for a quiet area i would not recommend staying in this area on weekends because of the out doors activities. There was a folk activity happening and lasted until 1am. Made it a little difficult to sleep. However, i loved it as i went to visited but went back to my apartment at 12am. The place is very lively on weekends. On the other hand the moment i stepped through the door i was happy. Gave the option of an elevator which was a plus for me as i had bags. The young lady at reception was very polite and she spoke English so was not difficult at all. The room was very clean and beautiful. Did not want to leave and wished i could have stayed longer. I did recommend this place to all my friends as we normally use the other hotel next door which is not half of this one. Thank you Fort Savanne i really love this place and will be back Regards Happy guest
Very clean and comfortable ..wonderful staff
Convenient
I've stayed in this hotel in many occasions, and every time, the experience was excellent. The room, the staff and the quietness. The only downside would be that they don't provide breakfast in the premises.
Its location is convenient, close to everything ( restaurants, buses, ferries, taxis). Also, it's not your usual hotel, with reception, big lobby with tenants traffic. It's more quiet and discreet.
Great location, easy to walk to many attractions. Lots of restaurants, and shopping nearby. Front desk staff were very helpful, and polite. The rooms are a bit smaller, and it is a bit older property. Overall, a enjoyable stay.
Basic but vlean. Major steeet construction outside window
Some guests were chatting and smoking heavily next to office. You could smell it even in our room. Apart from that, the receptionist was very welcoming, but we didn't see her again until our departure. So if you have any enquiries, you have to figure it out on your own. The office sign said from 11am until 9pm but nobody came until much later as the lights finally were on, but the office door stayed locked! Overall it was ok
Nice hotel, great location
I really enjoyed my stay at Fort Savane, this summer. The room was clean and spacious. The location is excellent, you are close to everything. Also, the stuff is very helpful and nice. I would definitely book again for my next trip to Fort-de-France.
I liked that the property was so close to everything. Very easy to get to point du bout which has a lovely beach cove
Tres Bien
This is a very good place to stay if you have no expectations on added amenities or service. Bare bone hospitality in downtown Fort de France at a good rate.
Great service, comfortable room and great views
Quick check-in, receptionist asked me if I wanted a map of the island and pointed out suitable vegetarian restaurants, bureau de change and other points of interest. Great service!! Room and bathroom looked newly refurbished, and were clean and comfortable.
Really neat quaint little lobby. There were what looked like lipstick stains on the bed sheets and check in was slightly unprofessional. The guy asked if He could buy cigarettes off me. All the other staff were great.
The view overlooking the open Savannah and the side view of the sea coast/broad walk. The central location to the shops, bus and ATMs. it is very quiet, properly working elevator, I had a concern about a stairwell but i was shown where it is. I was on the second floor. Cable television could be offered to the non-English speaking clientele like myself so the television was useless to me.
Good location and good English. The staff is helpful and tourist information is useful. It is also very good to have cooking utensils, plates, spoons and forks prepared. But the cleaning process is late in afternoon.
Excellent service, the front desk personnel even called us to make sure we would make it. We were late because of a flight delay.
Great city centre location, clean, lots of information for travelers, restaurants, activities. Appreciated Being able to speak English and yet try French. No complaints.
Excellent location right next to park, walking distance to ferries. Park is noisy at night with music. Hotel is very clean, has kitchen, helpful staff who speak English. Walk to express bus to airport, restaurants, library.
The receptionist's were very helpful and greeted us warmly each time we saw them. The location was central to restaurants and waterfront with many options for walking tours or just people watching.
Each member of the staff we interacted with was so friendly and helpful, and the location was a perfect base to reach downtown’s tourist attractions if you only have a short stay. The only downsides are that the hotel seems like maybe it’s in need of a renovation, because it smelled like fragrance sprays were being used to cover up musty smells, but that’s probably to be expected right near the water for a low price. Overall, I recommend for a brief stay!
Great place
It eased in a good location and staff was friendly.
This is a perfect location across the street from the main park and the bayfront promenade and the ferries that drop you at the beaches ten minutes across the bay. All best shops and restaurants very close by. Clean modern tiled studios with kitchen and dining nook and modern shower barhroom. This is not a hotel lobby and amenities place. It is a studio apartment buulding in a great location. No restaurant. Staff is one office lady and some maids. All very pleasant and helpful. Will arrange restaurant reservations and car services for you. If you want a great base this is it. If you want a lot if services, go next door.
Attempted renovation with odd quirks, mold smell, damp common areas
The staff is very nice good hospitality. The hotel is in a great area. I wish the TV had cable. However everything else was good enough. Will come back.
Great location
Good all around. Lack of carparking or assistance to find some was only issue. Amazing location. Very central.
The property is worn out. It smells terribly, the conditioning system works loudly. If you open the window, you literally can’t sleep. I have a recording of a guy with a leaves blower working at 5 in the morning. Music and crowd until 2a m each night. The reception is closed between 9 pm and 9 am. The only good thing about this hotel is a convenient location.
Great location, stay was fine.
The best thing about this is the location, as it right in the heart of FDF, so you can walk around to visit all the local landmarks like the Fort and the library, and there are lots of yummy food kiosks in the park right across the street from the hotel. It is not located on the ground floor so there is just a door that leads to an elevator that takes you up to the check in on the 2nd floor. Check in was fast and efficient. The office/check in is only open during certain hours so we left our keys in the mailbox since we left before it opened. The room and the hotel were fine, not spectacular, but certainly fine for an overnight stay. The shower tends to spray water on the floor since there is just a partial glass panel and no door. Not a big deal...just a bit annoying and slippery when wet. We were thankful for the good a/c.
The property is at the convenient location. You can walk around the park, street and the ferry dock. The place is nice and clean. The staff are so helpful. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. The only complain we have is the noise from the ocean front was very loud until late night. If you are the type of people who love to entertain until late night, this room will be good for you. if you need to sleep early, you may have problem with is. We could not sleep almost all night.
being this my first time in Martinique, wasn't too bad. The hotel location is excellent in the middle of the city. The property get confused with the surroing buildings and is not as expected in a regular hotel, a lobby, a unloading area and and a garden. The hotel is basically a bed and ..... There's no restaurant in the property, but the surroundings have some places to lunch and dinner. Breakfast is hard to get in the early hours. The ladyon the front desk, did all in her hands to have a good stay. REMEMNBER TO BRING A POWER ADAPTER, here's everything 220Vac. but the room was nice and clean, no english TV, but was K, wi-fi was super and cleanliness was superb. very nice to walk around the harbor city and the surroundings
Everything top notch.
Nice place too stay. Was hoping the food in town would have been better.
Very nice staff, extremely helpful! Great location, close to the ferry for access to other parts of the island. Comfy room as well!
Very confusing check in and check out
Arrived there and was informed that there was no room for me and my son . Waited to have someone from t hotel to take us to another hotel but front deck couldnt get in touch w t driver . The person found a room at last in t hotel originally booked . Room smelled like cigarettes from previous guests . Dinner reservation at t reataurant close to hotel was not made and restaurant was sold out but we were not notified by email by front desk so went there and was not able to eat. Returned to t hotel found a sticky note on t door confirming taxi at 5:45 am to t airport . Waited until 6:15 and no taxis . Went to a near by hotel , no one is sight ran around t hood desperately looking for a taxi from t street ( no taxis available when called a taxi company and tried to speak as much french as possible to be understood) . Finally found one and rushed to airport . Horrible experience !!!!
Great Location
Near shops, ferries, busses, taxi stands, restaurants and coffee/sandwich shops. Ten minute walk to market and supermarket. Very friendly and helpful staff.
good price
Sub-par service, great location
The hotel was in a great location - right on the water, around several different sights & activities. The hotel was fine, however the reception is only there between 9am and 9pm during the week and 11am-9pm on weekends. As we arrived prior to this time, we had to walk around with our bags until someone could let us into the hotel. Additionally, the door to our bathroom was broken. We had requested to have it fixed or switch rooms but they did not do either. We had also asked for reception to order us a cab for early the next morning as our flight was at 8AM. We were told that they ordered one but it never arrived - since reception does not work before 9AM we were unable to get another cab and had to ask random people on the street to call a cab for us.
Amazing hotel
This was a very nice hotel which is in close proximity to fort St Louis and the ferry terminal (which takes you to let Trois Ilets) and cruise ship berth. The staff are very helpful and friendly and if you don't speak French don't worry they speak English.
My trip was great. We enjoyed eating at the Oasis Grille. We even got a look at the school band practicing in the park near our hotel.
Noisy, you can hear noise in the next room. No parking, we parked in the garage that closes for the night , that is ok if you do not have to catch the early plain and do not speak French , hotel should provided at least suggestion for parking
Great location, but beware of reception hours
We were advised by Expedia that the reception was open from 9am-9pm daily. This is NOT correct. We arrived just after 9am following a cruise, and had to wait until 11am for the reception to open (it was a Saturday). We called the hotel number and they said they would get someone to come and let us in (even though it was outside of reception hours). Even then, no-one arrived until 11.25am. A bit frustrating... but aside from that, it was a pleasant stay. There's a free computer for guest use, and the staff (fluent in English) are super helpful with anything you need (including booking a taxi for 5.30am the day of check out). Comfortable but basic rooms, with a TV (all in French) and cozy bed. Safe in the closet. Huge bathroom with THE best shower of my entire trip to the Caribbean. Love that all the rooms are named after capital cities around the world. Oh, and the location is fantastic.
GREAT LOCATION AND VERY COURTEOUS STAFF
Excellent location right across the park of Fort Savane. Great Coast View and walk right over where the cruises coat... A few inconveniences to look forward into: 1. Parking is extremely hard to find due to Tourism Area 2. No Gym but you can walk, jog, run etc... at the park or the cruises coast right literally across the street from the hotel. 3. No breakfast, but there is a whole lot of restaurant right downstairs. 4. Last but not least: your U.S. eletronic plugs will work; cause Their outlets inserts are totally different from ours. See pics below Apart from that the hotel is excellent
Great location
2 night stay in this Very modern, clean and comfortable room. Ice machine had no ice though. Would definitely recommend!!!!!!!
Noisy despite double glazing
Very convenient for central FDF. Basic business hotel with no frills. Double glazing keeps ordinary street noise out, but frantically loud bass beat from amplifiers 100 yards away on the waterfront went on most evenings we were there, and all through the night on Saturday. This was not the hotel's fault, of course, but it spoiled our stay. Otherwise everything was fine. Receptionist was very helpful.
Good Hotel in Fort de france
Excellent choice if you on the ferry Express Des Isles. Easy walk. Also nice rooms, and easy to walk outside to good food.
Great room, poor internet
It is a great location and the room was very comfortable. My stay was great for the most part, my only issue was that the internet signal did not reach the whole room and I was there on business so it wasn't easy to get my work done, I needed to sit next to the room door to have better signal.
Great room with huge bathroom but floor grout was black with dirt.
Good Location
We were welcomed warmly and the check in was simple. The lady at reception was very helpful in showing us on a map where various activities and restaurants were located. Choose a room overlooking the park.
Conveniently located. Check in quick and efficient
Overnight stay. Perfectly located for transit to ferry.
Very convenient location and great price for the location. Everything was in great condition and would highly recommend!
Old facade, new hotel.
Old facade, brand new accommodations and service. Very helpful and friendly. Right down town opposite the fort and beginning of the boulevard.
Overall we had a good stay. The hotel is very quiet although its in a busy area. There are lots of places to shop and eat nearby...whenever they are open.
Great until the water stopped working
Perfect location on the main square, pretty interior, clean and updated modern rooms, comfortable bed. But... We had an 8am flight so we got up at 5am to shower and pack. One of us had showered the day before without problems. But in the morning, the water dripped and trickled and then shut off completely. Even the toilet wouldn't flush. We could not take showers and could not complain to hotel staff since their reception is closed until 9am. Bad ending to our otherwise nice stay.
Awesome
Modern, clean, awesome location, super service Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days here.
Good Central Location
Hotel has a good central location. Much of the downtown area is closed on the weekend. Rooms are clean and basic. The studio has a well stocked kitchen for light meals or just chilling your drinks. Good for a couple of nights if you don't want to stay out at a beach resort.
nice hotel close to all activities.
The hotel is on a nice location across from the park. To get to the beach the ferry is 2 blocks away. There is no phone in the room, the receptionist leaves at 9pm and comes back at 9am. If there is an emergency you are stuck. Bring your own adapter if you need to connect your phone and other appliances. The other barrier that I found is the language, they barely understand English. I loved how clean Port of France was. The hotel is in a great location. There is always some kind of activity near by.
Great Hotel!
This is a great hotel.
Clean and convenient
It's not as charming as L'Imperatrice two doors down, but the rooms are clean with stronger wifi, and the presence of both a fridge and a (good) espresso machine are a difference maker, especially given how early things close in Fort de France and how few businesses are open generally around holidays and through the low season. The reception was friendly and helpful, though the setting is impersonal. The views of the Savane are similar to those of L'Imperatrice and parking can be difficult for both.
Location
The Fort Savane is an old fashioned hotel with no outstanding views from the windows. The internal décor had been bought up to date. However the location is great, 60 feet to main esplanade and a park across the street. Easy walking to restaurants, shops, bus and ferry terminal. The room had a small kitchen with a fridge, coffee maker and all the utensils required for minor cooking but was missing a toaster. The internet connections were very good. If you need to stay in Fort du France at a reasonable cost rather than the beach the hotel is a good choice.
Great location
This place is right in the town near restaurant and shopping . The parking is on the street. The hotel is clean and they provide wifi which is very good . At 4 am the street are clean which the noise is loud and annoying which a lot of people I spoke with encounter this problem but I never had this issue while stating at ''tis hotel. The staff is very helpful , kind and friendly . If for some reason your flight will be coming in late please contact the hotel directly so you can make arrangement to get your keys because after certain hours the staff leave. Overall I would say I really enjoy my state here and would definitely come back and recommend it to my friends
met my simple needs
I guess the most important things for me were: clean, comfortable, modern. Everything works: water, lights, air conditioning and wifi; no troubles. The AC is especially crucial as it's so hot and humid there; it was powerful enough to get my room a bit too cold, so that's perfect. The two people behind the desk knew english better than almost anybody else I met on my whole trip. Usually I could get by situations with my clumsy French, but when I was really puzzled, I could talk to them later. Very friendly and helpful. You must park your rental car on the street! The parking costs more than €1/hour, during weekday mornings and some afternoons, but I often ignored it and never got a ticket. Street level restaurants are OK, but restaurants on the 2nd floor - on any block - are quality. Often these seem to be the owners' residential apartments.
This hotel is very clean and quiet.
The hotel is in an excellent location by the beautiful park Savane and fort and extremely close to restaurants, the ferries and shopping ,also steps away from the shared taxi terminal next to the ferries. The hotel has double windows which is fabulous blocking any noise from the street
Great Hotel, friendly staff.
Amazing staff, Jay definitely took care of us. The hotel is located in the heart of the city and close to everything.
Nice Hotel in City Center
The hotel has a perfect location near the Savanne park and the tourist attractions in Fort de France. If you want to walk around and shop during your trip, this is the perfect base of operations. I had a car and was easily able to navigate to the beaches and national park in the North part of the island, as well as back to the Trois Islet and Le Diamant areas to enjoy some time on the water.
If cruising out of Fort de France , I would recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, located close to cruise port.
Comfortable place by the tourist sites in FDF
The room was clean and comfortable and had a clean, modern bathroom. A comfortable and convenient place to stay in Fort-de-France (where we spent a night before an early morning flight).
Very nice, modern and clean. Great service, loved the personnel who also spoke english :-). Wifi worked perfectly - the only minus is that there are exclusively French TV Channels.
Fort Savane | Hotel in Fort-de-France | Travala.com
Great location to the ferry port. Our suite had a kitchen with great space and separate bedroom and bathroom. Lovely and clean and great views of the park and carnival while we were there. Staff we super helpful and friendly. Will definitely book here again when we come back.
