Lovely stay
Lovely stay! Only negative is that it’s right next to the train line - can be a bit loud between 5am and 11pm but I quickly got used to it. The train station is a 2 minute walk away, brilliant convenience for exploring the city! Thank you so much for a lovey stay
Excellent
Very good friendly stuff Very clean and tidy But place faraway from down town Thank you for stuff
The drainage system is not good enough. And there is no independent washroom for the room.
It's a hostel with a tiny room. A bed, table, TV and a fan. Oh boy it was hot but it was nicely located and I had fun at the irish bar next door. I'll def stay here again :)
wii very good and Barthroom and toilet Kommen not comfotable
Value for your money
With price in mind, it is an okay hotel. Relatively good communication with city and staff is friendly, but they speak only spanish.
The area is very nice, but there is a train that pass through every half and hour until pretty late... and the bathroom sound also much. The room is very simple but clean and ok. Parking is about a block away.
Many discomforting reasons of Fonda Chavarria: 1) Disturbance of sound of trains on the Railway Track for every 30 minutes for hiurs together. 2) No attached bathroom nor attached toilet which is to be shared by 8 Roommates simultaneously. 3) Very far and remote from many city attractions. 4) Taxi fare is very expensive. 5) Not much frequency of availability of Taxis. 4) No Metro and No bus station nearby. 5) No hotel or restaurant nearby. The nearest McDonalds is 1.6 KM away from the hotel made me and my 11 year old daughter to walk almost 6.4KM everyday to eat our lunch and dinner. The only consolation is the cheap price of €47 per single day occupation. I prefer never to visit this hotel again in my life.
The staff were very friendly and super helpful. I enjoyed their company.
Trainspotting
If you want to sleep, do not stay here! The train line runs beside the hostel (although it feels like it is running through the hostel, everything shakes). All of the doors squeak and the floors creak. 30 minute train ride to Barcelona city centre.
Should be a sweaty train station.....
If you enjoy the sounds of trains constantly running right outside your window then this place is for you. That is if the incredibly hot rooms don't keep you up all night. The restaurant/bar that is advertised to be on premises in never open and the only door leading to it from the rooms is locked 100% of the time. Didn't see staff the whole time we were there. The only good thing is that it is located close to transit to get to Barcelona quite easily but not enough to outweigh the bad. Would not book this hotel again even at this price
Nice place for short stay.
I enjoyed my stay here, but there were a few difficulties. The hotel is located right next to the train tracks, which is very convenient but also very loud, so bring ear plugs. The bathrooms are shared by the floor, but they were always very clean and I never had to wait very long to use them. Checking in was a little difficult, we were not sure which buzzer to use to alert the hotel we had arrived, and had to ring multiple times before we were let in. The proprietors of the hotel were very nice and helpful, but knowing a bit of Spanish will go a long way. Overall, my partner and I enjoyed staying in Fonda Charvarria. The area of Sant Joan Despi was beautiful and we enjoyed the escape from conventional Barcelona tourism.
Basic accommodation, clean.Inconvenient sharing shower and toilet facilties, but value for money.
Very noisy
I choose this hotel because there was no choice left. this hotel is far from downtown, but close from a train station. Price is kind of cheap, but very very much noisy. It was like trains pass just next me during all night, and I could hear every sound of other person staying next room. Because the hotel is very old, locker of the room was very loose. So I will never recommend this room for single women. it didn't seem to be a safe place. /a ramshackle hotel/
nice small hotel
Small but nice place, first night there's railway construction work most of night, next night is all quiet.
There was a town festival. You can walk down to a little pedestrian street for coffee and/or tapas and hang with the locals. A blast.
no restaurant and no bar
Only one good point is simply cheap!!! It has no restaurant and bar (always closed and no service), i.e. hotels.com information is incorrect. Bathroom is shared.

Knock the door for 15 minutes door closed
I was doing a checking, they don’t have my reservation, didn’t offer any solution. The guy who opens the door after 15 minutes come with inappropriate (shirtless ) wasn't friendly...
