Beyond Disappointing and Unsatisfactory
Extremely overpriced and overrated. Thought we would be in the hotel among other guests. Instead at check in we were told we would be in their other building. We lugged five suitcases down what seemed like a never ending hallway. It took nearly twenty minutes to get to our room in the other building. The room was the size of a closet, so small we had to check our ski bags… there was barely any room to walk. Anytime we called room service for anything we were told why? Don’t you already have that? The restaurants they pride themselves on within the hotel are reservation only so the convenience of having everything on site doesn’t apply unless thoroughly planned ahead of time. When we checked out, we told their team about our dissatisfaction and were given a small espresso as consolation.
Not indicated that the standard rooms are in another building connected by long, steep tunnel…. Long walk in dark tunnel with steep inclines and multiple turns
Excellent hotel in Zurich.
Stayed here for 5 days with the family. Excellent hotel. But, you’ll enjoy all the amenities a lot more if you come here as a couple.
Wonderful stay.. Reaching out to the Hotel if walking or using public transport can be challenging in the winter conditions
Wonderful staff and best place to overnight in Zurich not far from airport or city
Large beautiful Hotel. The room was amazing and very well decorated. The staff was exceptional and very accommodating. The location was beautiful but far away from city center and required transportation to arrive at numerous local sights.
First of all, let me say that Five Zürich is a beautiful hotel with a fantastic and friendly staff! The service here is top-notch, and everyone goes out of their way to help and ensure your stay is comfortable. The main building is stylish, modern, and luxurious, making it a pleasant place to unwind. However, a word of caution for those booking a cheaper room: if you reserve one of the more affordable options, be aware that it’s not in the same building as the main hotel. The room will be in what they call the "east wing," but in reality, it’s a separate building that you need to access via a somewhat eerie tunnel. You have to walk about 150-200 meters, which can feel a bit unsettling, especially late at night. The building used to be an apartment complex and has been converted into hotel rooms. While this may sound quirky, it’s not the most ideal setup. Our room in the east wing lacked basic things like windows that open, and it had a lingering smell of cigarettes. The place felt a bit like an afterthought, especially with so many conference-goers coming and going. Honestly, we couldn’t spend the night there. The room was just not up to the standard we were expecting. When we approached the front desk, the staff was incredibly understanding and offered to upgrade us to a room in the main building right away. They even gave us a discount for the inconvenience, which we really appreciated. The upgraded room was exactly what we had hoped for!
Perfect Stay.
Beautiful setting away from all the noise. Very modern and clean. Excellent, friendly staff. Great bar. Loved it! Would definitely stay here again.
Definitely not 5 stars....
luxury
The property is amazing, has a unique theme, and the facilities and services are great. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and caring. The front desk agent Maria was so friendly, caring, and helpful. She takes a good care of the residents and following up with them to ensure their satisfaction. She is considered the winning card for any company wish to succeed. We highly recommend the resort, it’s one of its kind.
Very cool Vibe, great Staff
Not much within walking distance. Some staff were great. Some so so. East Wing is a very long walk to pool and restaurants. Very good value though and would stay again. Pool is very nice. Gym not so much. Serious weight lifters will be very disappointed. Breakfast buffet crazy expensive. Overall facility is very clean, modern, well maintained.
Nice
Pool was great but room was dusty. Toilets were way too low and sink unpractical. Parking for chf30 should be free!
Loved it been here 2 times and it's beautiful!!! The pool area outside is beautiful. So nice and relaxing. We will be back for sure!
Staff was very accommodating. Area is somewhat isolated but we enjoyed that.
First off, let me start by saying this is a beautiful hotel; the staff were very nice & accommodating; we were upgraded to a suite on arrival. The food was very good; with several options. My biggest issue was the hotel wasn’t convenient to anything and you have to take a taxi/uber every where you go; unless you want to walk several miles each way. I inquired about shuttle service (to airport, and to an event we were going to) and was immediately told “you’ll have to get a taxi.” I have no issues with getting a taxi-uber, but it’s 20-40 CHF every time/both ways when you get one & adds up quickly. (Of note, you can also take train/trolly - if you know how to use them, but this was our first trip to Zurich and we wasn’t sure how it worked.) For these reasons, we will stay somewhere more centrally located next trip. But, if you want a quiet hotel, away from hustle of town -then this would be a great hotel!
Best hotel in zurich
Amazing hotel, no words to describe how nice the staff is. Just amazing
Only reason I’m leaving anything less than 5 stars is because when you book the east wing as they call it, it’s not even in the same building as the main glamorous hotel. You have to walk through an extremely long underground tunnel to a totally opposite hotel. Not convenient if you’re wanting to use the spa or restaurants or bar. The rooms are extremely tiny. No room for suitcases.
Very nice stay
Great overapl
On word: EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING
An amazing find
What a great hotel - very funky and modern
Excellent service
It is very long way to rech your room under ground Room is very small Room service is very poor and not helpful.
Horrible el paso Por el túnel
did not like the tunnel to east wing. felt like a "budget" extention. not luxury
The absolute BEST of the best, the ambience, the service, the staff was amazing. Will be back my next time in Zurich.
Be AWARE OF!!!!!!! This part is not 5 Stars hotel!! -the “Amazing room” is not part of main building and not a 5 star hotel part. It’s separate building that you walk 5 minutes in a crappy tunnel. -you have to use the East entrance which open up in a not so nice street. -Rooms are very very small. No space for luggages. Bad design of the room. Too much unnecessary furniture. -Bathroom is so small. No room at all to put your make up bag anywhere, just on top of fucet. -if you taller than 6’ you have to bend your head to shower. - Lazy, in professional management. -front desk manager is rude and lacks of management skills. -they ruined our Christmas dinner by reserving on one of the restaurant at the hotel but when we got there at our reservation time, the restaurant was closed. We had to figure out what to do while everything was closed. So got a very very low quality and expensive food from the bar. -they didn’t brought our luggage till we call them an hour later. -the only nice thing was the Spa and pool which you have to walk through cold tunnel for 5 minutes to get there. So one more time you pay for 5 star hotel but it’s a scam and put you in a building and room with 3 star quality condition. I would not recommend it to anybody.
Not good enough
We paid 3.000 DKK per night and the aircon did not work. we told them 3 times and then they moved us to a new room, but it was the same. Bad, and i don’t want to pay the full amount
Top Class
Amazing hotel, rooms and amenities! Top class!
The property was in a good location and was a cool looking place. The "East Wing" denomination for the room was deceiving as the building is shaped with an east and west side, but the "East Wing" was a different building altogether. The rooms did not have adequate storage for me to even unpack my suitcase. Wont stay in that building again and may not stay in the hotel again.
Luxury rooms
Staff was great.
Polite staffs, great in everything
450£ deposit + room charge for 1 night
The hotel is very nice however they charged us 450£ as a deposit for a 1 night stay, then charged us for the room + incidentals. After 3 days we still did not get our deposit back. I have emailed and called and no one answers. This is the largest deposit a hotel has ever taken. Absolutely ridiculous to run a business like this. Unacceptable.
Its ok
Amazing hotel, catered to my needs with helping me when I have an injury. Will be back to stay again. Thanks team.
The place was out of our way. The room was very small and we had to go thru a very long tunnel to reach our room. It was not very desirable.
They don't clean the room on time also every thing is on extra. The reception is not corporate and friendly .bad experience. This is my second time in the hotel and last time .don't recommend other people to come here
Hotel has great facilities with the good views of the forest. A bit far Probably had the best pasta in the whole Europe in one of the lounge restaurants.
The picture of hotel is great, but the hotel ad new building next to it and you have to go inside the tunnel from old building to the new one it makes it difficult ,the good thing was the staff and service was great.
Nice family trip
Overall, we had a very nice trip. The atmosphere and decor were very nice, and the food was good. The hotel staff were all really wonderful. The location is away from other things, so plan on having to go a distance to eat or plan on eating at the hotel. There was some wear-and-tear in the room (e.g., chipped doors), which was surprising for such a nice, new hotel, but might speak more to the typical clientele, which I assume is more of a party crowd. We decided on this hotel solely because it had a pool, and our toddler loves to swim. We did not find out until we went to use the pool that it is for 16+. We looked on both hotels.com and the hotel website prior to booking and it did not state that anywhere. They are accommodating to children swimming from 10-12 in the morning, but it is important to know if you are going with a family. The location is very accessible with public transportation if you are willing to walk up a slight hill for about 8-10 minutes. We used it to get to-and-from the downtown and the airport, and it was very easy.
NOT A 5 star hotel, be careful
I was charged twice and i had to call them more than 10 times to get a refund and i just got a sorry as an apology. The amount was more than 1200 euros. I tried to order in dining but the dining employee who took my order was in Dubai and i was in zurich and never get the order and was charged. The reason was because the person who was supposed to be working in kitchen didnt show up because he was sick!!! 5 star hotel huh? Carpets are full of stains. I was in an XL suite Reception never answers Overall i would give this hotel Zero star if i could…

Great views of the city
Hotel is far from town. Shuttle only works Wed-Sun 5pm-9pm. Hotel is clean, but the staff & Customer Service is horrendous! Had 4 incidents which were so unprofessional. 1 incident was, I booked the stay through Expedia and paid for breakfast to be included, when checking out I see there is a charge of $110 for breakfast. I asked them what that was and the reception said; “the breakfast that you ate”. I told her I had prepaid for it through Expedia. She said well I don’t see that on my end, plus you paid super cheap for the room already, what we typically charge And what you paid is a big difference, the least you can do is pay for the breakfast. I told her that’s not my problem that Expedia had this rate posted for their hotel, they can take it up with them. I asked her again to take off the charge for breakfast, she gives me an attitude and says prove it that you paid for breakfast. I showed her the itinerary. She looked at my phone for a while then finally said; FINE. Another incident was a receptionist told us the last shuttle left at 5pm & their won’t be anymore that day and we need to find our own ride to town. We walk outside & the shuttle driver asks if we need a ride! Would not stay again just for the bad customer service and lack of communication the staff has between each other, they all give you miss information and when you ask for clarity they give attitudes and mention you know we are a high end hotel, as if you don’t have a right to ask.
Best new hotel in Zurich
The hotel was brand new and spotless. Rooms are very big and comfy and the service is spectacular. Special thanks to Panaiotis on the reception who made our stay very special and was always there and helpful. We will definitely stay there every time we are in zurich!
