The staff are exceptional. The rooms Are quiet and spacious. The views are really beautiful.

Canceled reservation

I canceled my reservation. Did not stay there. Please refund my $180.60. Fitgers canceled my reservation without problem. Why are you not refunding?! I will be very reluctant to use HOTELS.COM. in the future.

location is good and valet service is a help to us. 3 steps in many of the rooms should be shared with people making reservations so they are aware. Lighting on first step down is okay but at night, it doesn't go on when you reach the edge of the steps to go down.

Went there with my girlfriend for a little getaway. It’s a cozy little hotel. With restaurants and stores connected.

Decorated beautifully for Christmas! We frequent Duluth and the Northshore often but had never stayed at Fitgers. It was perfect and we’ll definitely be back.

It was the perfect place for a getaway. Great location, wonderful room, comfortable bed, terrific view of Lake Superior.

We really liked Fitgers Inn!

Fitgers Inn - good and bad. It is a unique and interesting hotel with a lot of options for lunch, dinner, drinks and some shopping. Our room was very nice. Front desk and valet teams were great! Downsides: The walls of our room were very thin or whatnot and we were woke up by our neighbors who came in later and were a bit loud (not excessive but the thin walls seemed to be more of the problem). Breakfast - there is only one place to get breakfast in the entire facility (the Boat House) and while it was not even half full, we were turned away. They had allowed a large group in and said they couldn't handle us unless we had a reservation - which really makes no sense. Very disappointing as we did not really want to drive all looking for a breakfast spot.

We loved our stay here! We came out all the way from California and were only staying the weekend. They have a free shuttle that takes you anywhere you need to go around Duluth. We were only going to the zoo. When we had to leave to go back home their shuttle service did not start yet but they were able to set up a cab to come pick us up. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, we had a great view of the lake! If there was ever a need to go back, I would definitely stay here again.

Nice reception from the staff at check in. The common areas have become very tired. A refresh is in order. The common areas a very very dimly lit. Need some more light. Far too dark and gloomy. Room condition was fine however the TV was on the same wall as the headboard (but opposite the sofa). I want to watch from the bed, not the sofa. Switch the TV position with the sofa

It was a interesting historical building.

Was in for a quick one-night stay - checking in late and leaving early. Check-in was a breeze, room clean. Modern bathrooms which I always appreciate. The convenient parking garage behind the property made that part easy as well. Fitgers is always a great option, with character, if you are staying in Duluth!

We had a good stay. Great location. Very nice property. The only problem we had were, we stopped in at 11 am and are room wasn't ready. We expected that. But they said they would expedite the cleaning. We stopped back at around 4 and the room still wasn't ready. Also the HVAC units are very old and the one in our room was noisy and the thermostat did not appear to work. We just shut it if and we were comfortable.

The ambiance is great. Truly a historic gem. This hotel offers everything. Right on the shore, bars, restaurants inside and outside, a variety of shopping in the complex. Very pet friendly. Highly recommended.

Great old Historic Hotel right on Lake Superior. Walking distance to great restaurants nearby and also restaurants and shopping under one roof at the hotel.

They were fully booked when we got there!! They did not have a room for us!!! We had to pay to stay at a different hotel WE NEED A FULL REFUND!!!!

Fitgers was fantastic! The building was very cool with lots to do in the surrounding area. Bonus points for high ceilings and a pillow menu!

We have stayed at this property over and over… that in its self speaks quality. The view of Lake Superior from the lake view rooms is amazing! The street side rooms are great too, with most having 2 queen size beds and also a pull out couch. These rooms have plenty of space. There aveda products are wonderful and so appreciated. Thanks again for a great stay.

A Wonderful Stay

Lovely historical hotel with all the modern amenities. It was such a nice break from all those soulless modern cookie cutter hotels with no character. We received a warm welcome from Dustin. The room was beautiful overlooking Lake Superior. The bathroom had a hand held shower, which is always appreciated, as my wife has long hair, and she absolutely hates the fixed rain showers. Wonderful stay. Chris, the valet was wonderful and very helpful. We would visit again. Duluth is beautiful, with friendly people.

My only negative is the shower water was constantly too cold. We had to take cold showers throughout the weekend. Not sure if it's just because it's an old building? It wasn't just our room either. My brother-in-law, Aunt, and Uncle's room were all the same. Otherwise, we had a fantastic stay!

Perfect location.

It's an old building that they have done a good job to make nice looking. Self parking is a chore. You have to walk all the way thru the mall to get to the ramp. The room was overtaken by the king bed, very cramped feel. We had an end unit which gave us a view up the Lake Superior shoreline and a rear-view window to see Canal Park and the Lift Bridge and all of Lake Superior. The shower head looks good, but the handheld sprayer did not function well at all. The toilet flush was louder than the F16 jets we were there to see at the Duluth Air Show. It also sprayed water on the lid. All in all it was nice to experience, but I doubt we'll stay there again considering the price and our experience.

Enjoyed my time spent at this hotel! Love the access right to the water and all the food/shopping that is available. Also it’s not super close to the bridge but I kinda liked the quietness and that it’s still connected/have access to the board walk.

Shuttle drivers were fantastic! Check in staff wad a 10!

Loved I was able to go grab a few unique beverages from the local store within the building. However, the facility was very dirty. Scuff marks everywhere; Cobwebs in the windowsill; tons of dust to the point I needed to get a Benadryl (thank goodness the front desk had some, but I paid for them. Under the furniture wasn’t vacuumed in a very long time nor were the 20’ curtains & walls. Beautiful hotel; just needs a cleanly type A person to get it back to a 5 star hotel.

Excellent night in Duluth—great view from our window, staff were amazing, The Boathouse Club had a fabulous brunch!

I did not find the hair dryer in the room. It was likely available upon request, but I was too tired to look for it.

Very convenient to have hotel attached to the mall with shops/restaurants. Enjoyed the history available on the old brewery. Nice stay!

The old style buidings

The hotel had several shops, options for eating, and also different types of beverages. Upon arrival valet was almost instant and no wait time to check in.

Going above n beyond, mentioned we were here bc of a 80th Birthday n a chilled bottle of Champagne was n the room.

The room was comfortably decorated smd comfortable. Staff accommodated us with early check in with ease.

Had a very good stay. Coffee was a little weak and Continental breakfast could have been better. Service Was excellent! Wish discount at the Boathouse was automatic as we forgot to present coupon twice. Great historic location.

Lovely historical ambiance. Staff were friendly, attentive. Love all the old photos, Fitger’s brewing pictures and memorabilia. And the Lake Superior Views - magnificent!

It felt very much like going back in time. Perfect view of the sunrise over Lake Superior and theres a lot of little shops and restaurants in the same building! A convenient stairway right down to the lake as well. Had an amazing time eating and looking out onto the lake. Right by the best bakery in duluth and downtown.

Lakefront views, very good coffee available at front desk. Historic building with display of items from its past. I didn't like that the breakfast dining facility wouldn't let me bring my coffee into their dining area (the hotel coffee was much better than what they served in the breakfast dining facility).

We return to this facility often and have consistently enjoyed exceptional hospitality. This trip was to celebrate an early Valentine's Day.

Three friends having a weekend away from home to catch up and celebrate friendship. Chose the Fitger for location and price, love it for the decor, style and lovely staff. The ceiling in our room is 14, maybe 16 feet high! I’ve never seen curtains that long. Great sitting area in room 15 but the lobby and breakfast room WITH A WONDERFUL VIEW OF THE LAKE were also lovely areas to gather. Connected to the shops and walkable to downtown, easy walk along the lake paved path to canal park, too. Check in was easy and valet parking was super convenient. Front desk staff when we checked in were so friendly and helpful! Such a nice stay, I look forward to coming back
