I liked it and will definitely stay again. Good common area, breakfast and laundry conveniently available. My room had a bit of cigarette smell, only noticed when first entering the room.
Super
Nice hotel great location
Excellent breakfast, clean and nice.
Great location, easy to walk to all the main sites. The hostel was clean, with good facilities and friendly staff.
great place to stay in Madrid we used the kitchen every day
Great location, reasonable price!
The location was excelent. The breakfast was good. the room was VERY tiny.
Not too bad but not good
Bathrooms are small but clean. Water was hot which was nice. Triple room was clean and quiet.
I like the kitchen area where you could make tea or coffee and store your food in the fridge if you didn’t buy the breakfast for 8 eur each, I’m vegetarian so we just bought cereal and milk and store it in the fridge, shared bathrooms were clean and bed was comfy. I would stay here again as it was walkable to everywhere and 203 bus stops at Atocha station from the airport and it was 0.7 mile walk from there
excellent location , convenient, very clean , nice people
We need the common area open the whole night.
Thank you
Lovely helpful staff, clean room and bathroom, walking distance from everything we wanted to do.
I had a great stay at Far Home Atocha. It offers modern amenities and it is an ideal location with easy access to the city's main attractions and public transport.
This place is very well located close to many tourist places and the Chueca, Atocha train station , Metro. What I did not like was the lack of information I book a triple room with a person close to be 80 yeass old The information by Expedia or the property confused the customers. I was under the impression that the room did have a private bathroom for over 900 dlls having a triple room with a share bathroom and shared toilet I consider is overprice otherwise if you are willing to share bathroom and toilet it's a good place to stay. Front desk is nice and helpful.
Las habitaciones son algo pequeñas para 4 personas, pero muy buena ubicación.
Not what I expected from the pictures provided. First ever hostel that I’ve stayed in where the lockers in the room don’t automatically lock, you need to bring your own lock. Luggage storage before check in is nice, however the check in staff seemed unorganized. Bathroom doors are weird as they don’t feel like they fully close. Nice area but questionable hostel.
I spent two weeks in Spain at the very best hotels. Let me tell you that the interactions I had in this hotel were by far worth more than the thousands of dollars I spent at the other hotels. The very best memories of my Spain trip were made in this humble hotels and meeting the people I did and having laughs and getting to know their culture. Thank you.
Muy amables todos
Very good location. Staff very friendly.
Todo bien! Recomendado!
The people in the from desk are excellent
Close to tons of activities yet quiet and safe for a solo female traveler!
Very good
Siendo un hostal, se agradecería que hubiera mejor señalización para los servicios como los aseos,...
I like girl in the front desk. She is so nice when I check in and check out👍
Very happy overall
Nice clean and comfortable accommodation. Great location.very helpful staff at reception. We were pleasantly surprised as we could not get hotel to respond to emails prior to arrival but unsure if fault was with them or virtual assistant on hotel.com app
Easy location , walkable . Nice neighbors. At hotel guest traveling from everywhere. I will be back and recomendable to all my friends.
The hostel is within walking distance to most places. The staff are very friendly. I will be staying here again when I return to Madrid.
Above everything, friendly staff. I will be back!
To noisy and bad front desk service
Excelente ubicación.
VERY NOISY AREA FOR SHRAED ROOMS. I swtiched to a private room because I couldnt sleep... There was also an elderly man who was sick the whole time and would go to the reception have the AC turned off while it was 30degrees in the room (and of course you couldnt open the window because it would stink gas from the main street below and too noisy, oh yeah and theres no option for direct guest control of the AC). He was coughing and spitting all overand talking to himself; clearly not the right clientele for a hostel. Breakfast is very akward with the lady serving judging you each you want to grab something else to eat.. Dont expect much for 8EUR. Kitchen is sold as a dream, only a microwave and a tabletopoven, limited chilling lounge space and seating. Should be advertised as without a kitchen. Excellent location and very clean otherwise...
We stayed for just one night in a private room and it was perfect. Definitely would stay for longer and would come back and stay in the girls dormitory area with some friends!
Clean property and excellent location.
great location and price for the amount of time we spent there…great buffet breakfast and good vibes
Well cared for hostal. Loved the common areas and courtyard. Air conditioning could be a bit better in the dormitories. Ladder to upper bunk not easy (even for an agile person)
.
very nice and cozy
Perfect hotel
Nothing bad to say, everything was nice, super clean, the location was perfect, the staff really friendly, very organized, i love it so much i reccomend it!!!
Conveniently situated, walking distance to Km 0, Prado Museum, Atocha Train station. Warm and welcome atmosphere. I had a private room on the first floor, my only complaint is that the patio was right next door so it was loud on the weekend.
Easy check in. All three employees that I interacted with were very friendly. Good clean communal bathrooms and there were sheets comforter on the bed as well as a locker for each person. Rather than having to rent a padlock for 3 euros or buy one for 7, they allowed me to store my bag in the front closet during the day for free. All around a great stay
Great location. Twin room was comfortable and just the right size. Only 2 toilet stalls and 1 working shower stall for the whole floor though. Still would recommend.
Very happy with the private room, staff were very kind and helpful.
Very convenient for my needs
Very nice staff. Ended up in a room with six beds but only had two other people stay with me.
Cerca del metro. Habitaciones limpias. Me quedaría otra vez.
They were an excellent service. The location is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms and amenities are clean.
Rooms and bathrooms were clean, staff was friendly
10/10
Clean, nice.
Nice and affordable
Great location! We had the 2 bedroom suite to accommodate our family of five and it had two bathrooms plus a small kitchenette with sink and small fridge. There are very few windows and some rooms may only have a window to the atrium. This was fine for us because we spent our days exploring. My only suggestion is that they need much better interior lighting given lack of windows and natural light. So rooms are dimly lit but otherwise have a nice and modern feel to them. Rooftop pool was a neat addition although we didn’t use given it was a little cool during our early April visit. Staff was very professional, friendly and spoke English. They communicate to you ahead of time in WhatsApp so make sure to have that on your phone. All in all I would stay here again if at a reasonable price.
Price and location are great. Keep in mind this is a Hostel. As far as Hostels go its A Its about a 15 minute walk from the train station (Uphill). Every "main" attraction is within a 20m walk. My wife and I walk a lot so this was not an issue. We had a private dorm with shared bathrooms. The bathrooms are pretty jammed but again, its a hostel. They were clean and that was important. My only recommendation is that you bring ear plugs. For the most part things were very quiet, however someone who snores so loudly (you could hear it walls away from a stair case) made one night pretty rough. Outside of that, no complaints. Laundry was easy and was 7 euroes to do a full load.
CONVENIENT IN HEART OF MADRID
Great location, close to public transport. Nice atmosphere. Very good breakfast. Helpful staff
.
Nice neighborhood
I loved everything!
Muy limpio y moderno, pero un moderno fino no vulgar. Me gusto mucho la atención al público, sobre todo de las chicas.
Great spot
Pros 1. Good location with lot of dining options 2. Close to metro station 3. Nice common area to cook ur own meals Cons None
Hotel like stay at hostel prices!
My single room was fantastic! I loved that my room was very close to the shared bathroom (which was very clean too)
The room was spacious and clean and location was amazing, staff extremely friendly
Cleanliness, service, great location
Excellent location everything around price very good everything
Friendly
Nice atmosphere.
Everyone is friendly, cheap and amazing area to be at
Great location and very friendly helpful staff
Great location, atmosphere and rooms. Very friendly and competent staff.
Small but comfortable
There were some problems with maintenance and housekeeping but the people were so nice that they made the problems look minor.
Great location, clean rooms and friendly front staffs!
Very goog magnifica atention, todo muy limpio y el personal exelente
Excellent
The best hostel i stayed so far... very clean.. good air-conditioned rooms.. very central
The staff showed me the best places to see with the limited time I had here. I was able drop my bags off before check in so I didn’t have to lug them around all day
THE NGHT MANAGER WAS SO DRUNK HE COULDN'T EVEN CHECK ME IN.
Location if excellent - central and within walking distance of most A-list things. Cleanliness is IMMACULATE.
It was clean and staff was nice. I stayed in women only 6 people sharing the room. The moldy smell of shower was very strong and it was hard to stay in the room without a window opened. I reported the issue to a staff and she said they can't do much about it because it is coming from pipes. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so I had to leave the door open after a shower. I could see mold on shower walls. Other than that it was good.
Bad place for sharing bedroom
if you snore forget about sharing bedroom. The other people in the room will bother you all night, especially Spaniard which has no education or tolerance. The bathroom is quite small and uncomfortable. You don’t have any place to put your clothes inside. The mattress is quite hard and uncomfortable and there is no effective regulation for temperature in bedroom. Too hot in middle of January makes no sense. I won’t repeat for sure, especially for the intolerant people when sharing bedroom. Bad overall experience.
The location was great- not far from the train station and walking distance to the main attractions. The decor is hip and homey at once, excellent accommodations for cooking with a grocery store nearby. My teenaged daughters and I felt very safe here.
The place is in excellent conditions, very kind people, clean, good breakfast. Excellent location in the middle of Madrid downtown, close to the subway and main train station. There were only 2 negative items: - the bed sheets had 2 old blood drops - the shower was really small and one morning they had problem with the hot water so I had to shower with freezing water, however they fix it quickly. Despite of those 2 things, it was a great deal thinking about the cost vs the benefit.
I would of liked a bathroom that was single so you didn't have to share while using. Same for the shower.
Overall good hostel. Very clean. Quiet and well kept. Not much of a kitchen for personal use.
The hostel located not in the street, not very easy to be found without indicating. However, the staff is very friendly, the space of shared dorm is big that everyone can pickup their own staff easily 👍 One more point, they have dryer in every bathroom, not need to ask, no need to borrow, it’s so convenient especially for girls 👍👍
Hostal is in a great location, clean and comfy room.
We stayed in a double room and had a shared bathroom. The room was not huge but sufficient and worth what we paid for it. The only issue we had was the shared ladies bathroom. There were two showers on our floor but only one was lockable. The other was just in the open and any one that opened the door from the hall could have seen in. We arent use to staying at hostels so we arent sure if this is normal. If we were to stay again we would get a room with a private bathroom.
Only for one night, but not expensive and very clean.
Nice hostel for the price
This was (as should be expected with hostels) a no-frills basic room. They have different types of rooms, but ours was a 3 bed with private bathroom with shower. It was small but clean; front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable but not luxurious in any way. They stored our bags after checkout for free until 2 pm and would have stored them for 24 hrs for a small fee. The wifi worked well but we were only there 1 weeknight. The location is great--15 min walk from Atocha station, 5 min walk to Plaza Mayor, and 8-10 min walk to Puerta del Sol. We didn't opt to pay for breakfast but it was an option.
Best hostel I've stayed in
I stayed for one night at Far Home Hostel. I arrived late at night and left early in the morning to catch a flight, so I didn't spend much time at the hostel. But I found the place to be clean and the bed was quite comfy. I chose the room with three beds. The room was equipped with air conditioning, lockers, and a TV. When you check in, the staff will give you a bed sheet and you have to pay $10 euro cash deposit. You should bring your own towels and hygienic products because it cost extra if you were to get them from the hostel. The transportation from the hostel to the airport is convenient. You can walk to Atocha station and take the train C1 directly, or you can walk to Sol station and take the train C4, transfer at the Nuevo Ministro station to the C1 line. Once you get to T4 of the Madrid airport, you can go to the arrival level and take the shuttle bus to other terminals. The entire journey takes about 1 hour (including walking/transferring/waiting time) and cost ~5 euro. Overall, this is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in and I would highly recommend it to travelers who are looking for a clean and inexpensive accomodation in Madrid.
Fantastic private rooms
Very enjoyable stay in a private double room at far home atocha. The room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent private bathroom. The hostel is in a fantastic location very close to the metro and surrounded by great bars ans resturants. The staff were very helpful and made our stay a pleasant one. I would highly recommend this hostel and would stay again.
Very nice, quiet, and comfy place in a safe area.
Passing through Madrid on the way to a weekend in Segovia I just needed a clean, safe place to sleep and this fit the bill. I will note, I was so side tracked with Madrid's beauty that I walked past the hostel as I didn't find it to be well marked - but it does have a visible street number plaque. Anyway, upon check-in they were super helpful and kind and offered to print off my train tickets for me. I stayed in a 3 bed women only dorm and it was perfect for me. The bathrooms are down the hall a bit and were very clean. My only complaint is the area in the shower room to change is quite small (make sure to bring the bag the front desk gives you to store your towel and clothes in, so they don't get wet while showering). It was also very quiet. I don't know if it was due to good insulation or if the people on our floor (2nd) were just really respectful. But it was always quiet. The internet and AC worked great, the beds were very comfy and the linens were clean. The entire property was so clean I was comfortable to walk around barefoot. The common areas are spacious and nice and there's even a nice outside area if you wish to smoke or enjoy Madrid's blazing sun. After reading other reviews I decided to skip out on the breakfast and learned from my roommate it wasn't a good deal. They do have a fridge so you can purchase milk, fruit, yogurt...whatever you want and store it there. Keep in mind, that stores open after 930 and most cafes open at 8 or later.
Perfect for what we needed
One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in - my boyfriend and I had a private room, so it really felt more like a hotel. The common areas were lovely too. It's too bad we only had one night in Madrid and had to leave before breakfast the next morning :(
Nice place but quirky
Clean, modern, hot water, wifi, kitchen all fine. Good location. Nice in-house programs. Bathrooms/showers located somewhat weirdly. Bedrooms match picture but no hooks, tables, chairs, shelves. 12 too many in a bedroom.
Great location and immaculate- cannot fault it
Was brilliant fab facilities clean and close to everything. Breakfast also consisted of cereal breads pastries meat cheese and yogurt. Shower gel in the showers already and great aircon. We got airport express bus to atocha rebfe for €5 then 15 minute walk up calle de atocha and hostel on the right.
would go back
Beds were very comfortable, everything was clean! The people who work there are all very accommodating.
The room itself was quite nice. Window, bunk beds, AC. The common area was cool. The bathroom wasn't great though, pretty far from the room and a bit dirty. Nowhere to put your clothes/towels while showering, and you have to constantly push the button to make the shower work. They also make you rent towels from the front desk to 2 euros. Also for some reason you have to log into the Wi-Fi with Facebook? And the Wi-Fi password is long. It was frustrating. I'd recommend paying $10 more for another hostel with more amenities included. I also stayed in Diezmadrid which is a block away and much nicer.
great location
