The hotel was amazing, the staff were incredible!! But I guess we're not made for big cities, Dallas is just not a nice place to visit. Had to drive to Carrollton to have a good dining experience.
Front desk staff was wonderful. Room was fairly clean, could have used sweeping but overall good. It felt too industrial and not comfortable with wood floors and a big column in the middle of the room. Valet was a nightmare. Not only was the street in front of the hotel difficult to navigate, but the valet was unorganized, short-staffed, and frustraing.
Staff was super helpful
Hotel was great, rooms were comfortable and clean. But People were noisy in hallways smoking weed at night, and there’s homeless people sleeping right outside the hotel.
My first time staying there and my last.
The air conditioner was not working. I called the front desk and they sent a repair man but it just worked for awhile😞. The room was very uncomfortable with NO carpet just naked concrete floor. It’s very old hotel with tall ceilings that need repair and paint job. The breakfast was good and staff was friendly in the dining room.
Meh
The hotel was okay, i hasn't expecting the valet parking (which was the only parking) to be 45 dollars though. The service was good the staff was very friendly but for the price I definitely wouldn't stay again
Rooms were nice. Staff were very unhelpful, they charged me $800 I had to call my bank and have them fix those errors. Downtown Dallas was dirty and homeless people at every corner. Do not stay here.
Close to many food stores
The hotel was mostly great. The one thing that was not so good was the floors in the room. They were very squeaky and noisy. It was hard to not wake up my wife when I got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night. Other than that, it was very clean and comfy. The tv could have been a little bigger but ok.
Great stay.
Hotel staff was friendly, property and room were very clean. I was very appreciative that I was able to check in significantly early so I wouldn’t have to be stuck waiting in the lobby or wandering around the city until the check in time. Hotel is a walkable distance from restaurants but there are lots of homeless people around the city.
Everyone was great. Good selection for breakfast everyday. Not the Perfect location due to all the homeless people. Last night at 130 as we pulled in there was 4 gun shots within 100 yards of use
While the rooms were nice the upfront staff were just very off putting talking on the phone with AirPods just moody. The valet wasn’t properly marked for the hotel, with there being multiple properties close offering valet having YOURS marked properly would’ve been a godsend.
Must have been maintenance issues for ants in parking as we got ants in our vehicle - ALOT of ants.
It was a good experience.
The interior of the hotel was clean. The valet staff very friendly and hardworking. The rooms were very clean and huge. Have to be careful getting to the elevator for Fairfield. It appears the hotel shares a lobby with another hotel so there is two different elevators. They explained which elevators to go to but it was confusing. There was a little noise outside that woke me up two times in the night. Not sure what the noise was. Looking out window I could not figure it out. Driving up to this hotel you will be a little uncomfortable as the surrounding area appears to be homeless camps. The city needs to do something about this. Every street around this area was homeless people. Buy snacks before going there. $3.00 for candy bar. $5.00 for coke. Outrageous pricing. But, I’m not walking down the road for cheaper when every street has homeless people everywhere. Hotel exterior looks old as well. As I said, the hotel interior was decent and rooms were surprisingly huge, clean and very comfortable. Was the right price for the conference center.
The staff were great. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choices. Rooms are spacious. The hallways have squeaky wood floors. The hotel location is convenient for downtown but the homeless people camping below the window and laying on the sidewalks makes you feel sad and not safe to walk outside.
Everything was great inside the property
Area surrounding hotel was not too safe. A lot of homeless in the area. Walking to nearby restaurants is a challenge unless in large groups.
Smell good, the bedroom was spacious and clean. I loved that breakfast is included. Pool and gym was good. Just a lot of homeless people around the areas outside the hotel.
It was neato.
Great Stay downtown
I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very comfortable and spacious. I really liked that there was no carpet (I have allergies). I was extremely clean and breakfast was really good as well.
It literally had homeless living right outside our window. We had to keep the curtains closed to not see them all laying right across The steeef
😊
Does not have a parking.. have to pay for parking.. alot of homeless people all around.. and they try to charge out of your card days later
Good hotel
Well where do I start the staff were very nice but when we got to our room it smelled really bad and on top of that when I showered I found hair in the tub.
Nice
It was very clean and beds were comfortable, though I don't like the homeless all around the hotel, other then that it was nice.
Pleasant location..
We went for Fan-Demic comic convention. It was conveniently located. Staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast selection. Will stay again!
Thumbs up
The building is well air conditioned and the bed is comfortable and I slept very well on it. Snacks are a bit expensive but breakfast is free and delicious.
Not Good!
Our stay began well. AC did not work well. Biggest problem… when we checked out, Valet could not locate keys. He was very remorseful and was frantic, but our keys are gone. On the key ring were two key fobs, home keys, work keys, etc… I realized we booked through Hotels.com but the Fairfield manager was dismissive to our problem since we booked through a third party. Never again! Now we are having to do all the leg work to get replacements , re key doors, etc… The least you could do is comp our stay.
Flexible…
Super…thanks for being flexible… the attendant stayed up late and waited for us till we arrived after 1:30 am…due long hours of delay d airplane departure and taxing into the hub.. Thanks
Great
Clean roooms, nice staff.
Good hotel for downtown.
Room was large and clean for the four of us. Very modern looking space. Bathroom door is one of those barn door slider. Very interesting. The only downside was that the hotel had this very strong smell. Reminded me of moth balls. The smell traveled with us back home. We washed everything when we got back and the smell was gone. We ended up doing valet parking next door to the hotel since there was very limited parking with the hotel and we definitely werent going to do street parking with all the homeless around. This is downtown so we knew what we were getting into.
Okay but not
The hotel was great inside but unfortunately we had two issues. 1st issue when we arrived we were told there was no parking available the valet was full. But we could self park in a day charge lot with no attendent. Second was that this hotel is on the edge of downtown and the surrounding area was a little less than desirable.
My bedding had blood on it and i had to call down for new bedding. Kinda of made me think they didn’t clean the bed. Other than that I enjoyed my stay!
Great hotel, wonderful staff and fantastic location to go to the convention center!
Good hotel and closed to downtown Dallas.
Toilet seat had no cover and towels were right above on a wire shelf so if toilet was flushed after towels were placed they were dirty again. Tub was stopped up when water was ran and the spout and handles were loose. Chairs were dirty with white stuff on them. They did give a new room after we call the front desk that was better.
Alot of homeless people around the building. You still have to pay for parking. Ive been to other cities and did not have to pay for parking downtown hotels. The floor is old and creeks/cracking every step. Woke my husband up alot.
The hotel room was very spacious and clean.
Good value
the entrance is not visible
Nice but not great
Sketchy and old smelled like moth balls. Homeless camp outside. Staff was nice.
Area around it was sketchy and the floors creak everywhere, other than that its good. Room was clean, staff was nice, and it was an easy check in/check out.
Beautiful hotel, bad location.
Hotel was very nice and staff was amazing. Only down side of staying here is, there is a large amount of homeless encampments across the street and pretty much every where you look from the property. They seem to hang around for the dumpsters, digging pillows and food out of there. I like to walk to where I’m going and have walked past them multiple times and besides the normal pandering, they weren’t an issue. But it’s not what you want to see or walk out to from your hotel.
Thank you
given to key cards that didn’t work twice at check in setting the tone for the stay. property had a smell
When I arrived to check in valet was closed and full. Had to park around the corner. Immediately felt unsafe, homeless, intoxicated people wondering sitting on corner, smelled of weed. Parking was pay by app. App didn’t work wouldn’t load and let me enter information. As this was the only place to park, it was 10 pm and I didn’t feel safe driving to find something else. I parked and entered the hotel. Staff was great. Room was nice. Could hear people outside until early hrs of the morning. Had ticket on car in parking but at least my car was still there. Was able to share screen shot that app didn’t work and paid for parking without the 80 ticket
When we arrived the hotel didn’t have any parking our room bathroom had the shower faucet and shower head not attached to the wall the floors creak the hotel itself is in a sketchy location a lot of homeless people and people down stairs smoking marijuana but out bed was comfy but wouldn’t stay again !
Parking is horribles dont have that many spaces availability you need to park far way. The fixing isus is irritated.
I was forced to pay Valet parking because they only have an outside 3rd party parking lot two streets away. They charged me a room deposit for each night instead of a set deposit, and there was no microwave in my room. Security took cash and my license and followed me into my room all to use a wine opener and confessed he smelled a neighbor guest on my floor smoking Crack. When I complained, the night manager tried to get security to make me leave. This is so unacceptable and wrong. I shouldn't have to deal with so much inconvenience and trouble.
I could not fault the staff, all of them were so nice and accommodating.
Property was older & “tired”.
Great staff - friendly and helpful!
Close to convention center, farmers market and downtown Dallas area. Safe but lots of homeless around this area.
Not worth the money
First floor room, loud and feels like a prison cell. AC wasn’t on when we got in and the room was muggy. The tv Apps didn’t work so cable TV was it.
Very incredible and beautiful room.
great customer service
Your customer service at the desk and Security are a great asset to your business. They we're the best - very personable and kind. Don't find this very often any more.. The only issue we had was the wooden floor was so loud/ creaked loudly when walked on. . The room was clean though.
Stayed here for Birthday party after checking out they charged my card for a valet service that I didn’t use!!! Then wouldn’t give me a credit for.
Customer service was great. Close to the convention center. Breakfast had a lot of options. Parking is kinda a nightmare and there were a lot of homeless people around our vehicles.
One of the most important things to know is that this property doesn't include parking. They have valet parking (for $30/night), but when I arrived (on a Sunday night), the lot was full and I had to find metered parking. That meant I had to be up by 7am to go down and feed the meter. And if you're not planning to drive, you'll need to feed the meter every few hours. The room was large, but drafty and cold. And mine was right next to the elevator on one side and night construction on the other. All in all, a complete fail for me, except walkable location into the city.
Review
The lobby of this hotel seems a little strange when you walk in, but the rooms are super cool and unique. The staff are extremely friendly, I had to change rooms due to lack of heat and they were so helpful with the process.
Room had concrete floors, very loud. Homeless ppl everywhere, wouldn’t recommend walking alone or after dark. City was very dirty.
Heavy Chemical smell in the hallways, Heat in the room was not adjustable to any great degree, Television was micro-small, earliest that we could get into room was for a 2.30 check-in. Just an overall unpleasant experience.
Approached by homeless prior to getting out of car. Valet was "full" with spaces clearly still available. Maintenance called for non-working TV. But they never came to room.
Room wasn’t what was advertised on the website and valet was full so had to park in a random spot
If you’re going to take reservations YOU SHOUKD HAVE APPROPRIATE PARKING! Guests should NOT have to park BEHIND the building in a parking lot full of homeless people! Completely unacceptable to have “full parking “ for guests who have reservations!!!
Had a weird smell in the halls.
Very run down, need a renovation. Floors in rooms are hard-wood and amplify sound from the hallway. Not a comfortable stay at all.
Everyone was very friendly. We were there for a race and they had snacks and drinks set out each day. Very nice!
This is truly unique property with an "industrial"/loft vibe. The staff is very friendly and helpful - and the breakfast was fabulous. Our only concern was parking. Please be aware that the hotel valet quickly fills, and then you're on your own to find open paid parking elsewhere. The hotel lot was full the entire weekend and many of us parked in a paid open-air lot around the corner. About a half dozen cars had their windows busted the same night when we parked. There is ZERO security (not even cameras) and there was broken windshield glass already on the lot the day we arrived. Had we known this, we would have researched ahead of time for more secure covered parking. It would have been worth the research and even a longer walk for peace of mind.
The rooms and halls smell like insecticide/moth balls. It’s terrible and smells like the hotel guests are being fumigated. Also the valet lot is very small and was full all weekend leaving the majority of the hotel guests to park in expensive surface lots full of broken glass from all of the car break ins/thefts. The staff was great though as was the breakfast, but the smell and parking will keep us from coming back.
Good
Excellent Services
The stuff was so rude. I asked for a room with a best view and the lady told me that she can’t do that cause we did the reservation over the app not direct with them. That’s my first time that I heard that and was disappointed that to me.
Loved the pillows and bed
Breakfast was fantastic. Parking was in a small, uncovered lot across the street for $30. This seemd a bit excessive, but the valets were excellent.
Love the location
The rooms were very nice. It was a really pretty place. Breakfast was really good for hotel food too. Was pretty impressed by that
It's an older building but nicely updated and the free breakfast was better than most
We have stayed here twice and probably won’t again due to the lack of parking. We end up having to park on the street with meters Because the valet is always full.
WiFi didn’t work in my room. They need to have a better selection of breakfast options.
My truck was stolen. The Manager was rude and refused to assist us. I will tell everyone I know not to stay here and I will never stay here again. Horrible experience. The Hotel should do their best to ensure the people staying with them are safe and their belongings are protected.
I didn’t like how every time I ran the sink in the bathroom that it smelled like rotten eggs! Mattress was super comfortable! Breakfast was awesome. Valet service, although pricey is super convenient and the guys were super friendly. Overall and great stay and would recommend!
Strong chemical smells
The entire floor smelt strongly of rubber and construction. The ceiling was not finished. Do not recommend if you are sensitive to smells. They should notify guests that the hotel is not finished and smells of chemicals.
Just fine.
hotel was outdated. Area was a bit sketchy. Overall my room was clean and staff was nice.
Please don’t stay here. It’s in the middle of homeless people and halfway house . It’s not consider downtown for the price per night.
Great stay.
It was exactly as picture on the inside of the hotel & it was nice. Didn’t expect to see so many homeless people outside living around the hotel, but rental car was safe still!
not a safe neighborhood for family
Baldwin Vacation
The chemical smell that lingered throughout the stay is the reason the hotel did not get high marks. The rooms were spacious, the parking was a bit of a nightmare, the breakfast was good, lots of space for everyone to sit, the pool was clean the staff was helpful and friendly. However, when I brought the smell to the attention of the front desk they acted like they were unaware of it. There is a lot of air blowing on the main floor. Step off the elevator on any of the other floors and you will be able to immediately smell what I mean.
Great staff! Valet parking
The hotel staff is very helpful, especially Brett. I had to change rooms because of a chemical odor on 5th floor. I was immediately moved. The hotel is a little old
No parking.
Habitacion amplia. se nota que esta en remodelación. Tenía un poco de olor de pintura , para pasar la noche ok El desayuno básico pero resuelve . Está ok.
Our experience at this hotel started off poorly due to the valet service. Upon arrival, the valet staff was extremely disrespectful, which was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the surrounding area felt unsafe, with homeless individuals just a street over. When we addressed our concerns with the front desk, the staff member was unhelpful and dismissive. Shockingly, during a follow-up call about the valet issue, the front desk agent hung up on us. This lack of professionalism and hospitality was incredibly frustrating and left a sour taste for the rest of our stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a welcoming or secure environment.
