Very difficult to get in and out of parking
Parking was very limited and a long walk from the hotel.
Very nice hotel. Located in the center of Porto. Many dining and shopping options around
2 nights stay in Porto on our way to Northern Spain Hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly
Best location
Lovely hotel close to the centre but boy oh boy was the city busy. Lovely staff l, good parking. Breakfast expensive
The hotel is in a great area for exploring Porto, close to the metro station from the airport and not far from the key sights. Staff are friendly, breakfast was good, and room was very nice.
The hotel was clean with good location. I was disappointed from a staff member that saw us in the parking on the arrival and didn't suggest helping us with our big suit, When he specifically said there's no way from the parking to the hotel, When in fact there's an elevator... It's just for employees so he could have taken just the suite case...
Perfect center located
The center location is perfect to explore Porto All the spots are walking distance around.
Great location- great staff!
Really nice hotel! Wonderful helpful front desk staff! Stylish room! Cold AC. Located in a great part of town need restaurants. If you need to park you should call them first before you have to drive around. They have some parking around the corner. I enjoyed my stay there a lot!
Fantastic location, modern and large rooms!
A lovely hotel in an excellent location. Modern with large rooms, good breakfast, and staff were very helpful.
The staff at this hotel are superlative. The included breakfast fantastic
Perfect location for walking around the old part of town, while just away from the noise of the most trafficked and touristed areas. Would stay here again.
Wonderful Hotel
The hotel was beautiful, very well done. Everything was clean and updated with still keeping the charm of the historic building. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, we highly recommended.
10 minute walk from Trinidad Metro (direct from airport) plenty of dining options Small dark rooms (rooms need more lighting) traffic and pedestrian noise from street disturbed our sleep
Very clean, friendly and refreshing hotel!
staff and mgt experience make it a fail overall.
First the positives, This is a good boutique hotel in an area just off City Hall. Aside from my initial room having a bed that was far too soft with a visual indentation in the mattress, i was able to get switched to a room w a newer firmer mattress. Upon realizing i wasn’t given the gold level bottle of wine or opportunity to upgrade i approached the front desk. I was told it was my error for not telling her that i had VIP status, i was surprised as i have never mentioned this upon checking in to any other hotels. I was then told it was Hotels.com fault as they hadn’t received any notification. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that one wasn't available but they would reach out to me the next morning. No one ever did, even though i reminded the same front desk staff again the next day. This was a customer service FAIL!
Reception staff were great. Went above and beyond their duty to make sure all our needs were met. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms were immaculate. Bed super comfy. Superb bathroom.
Conveniently located walking distance to the historical centre/Ribiera district and super close to the metro. I had a huge corner room and breakfast was included. Front desk staff really friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
Hotel well positioned in the heart of Porto
Excellent location All staff very helpful as one came to my hire vehicle and set up my sat nav Clean and tidy Porto is a must to visit
My stay at Exe Almada Porto was truly delightful, with exceptional staff who made me feel welcomed and valued throughout. Their friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile stood out. The hotel's perfect location allowed me to explore Porto effortlessly, with Cedofeita and Santa Catarina just a short walk away. Proximity to the Duoro river and Ponte Luis added to its appeal, and Rua da Picaria, a culinary paradise, was only 2 minutes away, offering vibrant dining and nightlife options. Manager Francisco added a personal touch to our stay, even remembering our names and engaging with us. Cleanliness was a clear priority, with impeccably maintained rooms and common areas. The room facilities and amenities were excellent, meeting all our needs. Special praise goes to the daily cleaning service for maintaining pristine conditions. While my stay was overwhelmingly positive, there were a couple of minor issues, like a leaking shower and some untidiness in the breakfast area. These were promptly addressed. In conclusion, Exe Almada Porto offers a memorable and comfortable stay in Porto's heart. Exceptional service, a convenient location, and personal touches, including Francisco's warm hospitality, make it a standout choice. Despite minor issues, my overall experience was highly positive, and I'd gladly return in the future.
Central location and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. Rooms were very clean and quiet.
Warmly greeted. Room small, but super clean and comfortable. Walk to attractions not super close, but very manageable. Desk personnel very attentive and perseonabale.
Pleasant stay
Good location, very nice staff, nice breakfast, comfortable room
Friendly staff, very clean and well stocked breakfast. No drink making facilities in the room was the only disadvantage. Small gym on ground floor. Very close to Trindade and Aliados metro stations.
A lovely hotel for a break in a fabulous City
We were due o visit Porto and then Covid hit. Finally got around to it and chose this hotel on the basis of the reviews. I am glad I did. From the very friendly reception staff at the start of the stay through to their helpfulness at the end we loved this hotel. The rooms were the cleanest I have been in for such a long while; the corridors and reception were spotless as was the breakfast room and they remained so during our stay. Breakfast was a nice mix of continental with hot food available and a limitless supply of coffee. The hotel is situated a bit further in to the city centre from the banks of the Douro but this means it is quieter at night. Be prepared for a walk uphill but then again very few places in Porto don’t have this uphill walk!! Overall would thoroughly recommend
Good location
Very nice facility. Contemporary decor. Breakfast included was positive and was very good. Parking on site was available at a cost but appreciated. Her staff was very helpful and spoke English. It was unfortunately a bit far from the riverfront attractions than initially expected. But overall a very good stay.
2023 Portugal Vacations
Hotel has an excellent location. Rooms are small, but one can manage. The laundry list specifies that items delivered before 10:00AM, will be returned same day. However, we dropped items for laundry and front desk attendant wanted to add a 50% surcharge for same day service, even though we showed him the document where it clearly explains the rules. Needless to say, didn’t do it. Upon arrival, we were told thar buffet breakfast was 12€ and today, before we left and had breakfast, they charged us 15€ per person. When we claimed, front desk attendant said prices had changed. Seriously? The male front desk attendants were rude, while the ladies, one local and one Spanish were extremely friendly and helpful. So, service wise, I take points away.
The location, staff, breakfast, and other features of this property were excellent.
We stayed at this property to celebrate my brother in-law's 70th birthday in Porto. The service by the personnel was great and the room very nice. Up until checkout everything was fine, but then my sister in-law forgot a gift to our niece for her first born in the open safe deposit box in the room - a purple Chinese envelope containing US $500 in new 100 dollar bills. BTW same niece being the purchasing manager for the University in Casablanca, Morocco was the one who recommended your property. Despite checking our early at 10:30 in the morning and being around until 15:30 nobody brought to our attention that someone found the envelope in the room. Once the front desk was made aware of our error the room was checked and the envelope was found on the desk EMPTY. Despite several telephone calls with the management no resolution was offered, and only an apology was given. Despite us asking for a refund none was given. This is very poor management of the staff as surveillance cameras should show who exactly who entered the room between 10:30 and 15:30 when the empty envelope was discovered.
We had an excellent stay at Exe Almada Porto, the staff at reception, a delightful group of young and enthusiastic young ladies, did everything they could to satisfy any of our requests, with generosity, always with a smile. The hotel is great, very clean, in an excellent location, great places to eat around and at walkable distance from all the attractions. The only tiny disappointment was on our first day the room was not tidied up at almost 5 in the afternoon. We could understand they were very busy, we are near Easter, so the city has been taken over by tourists but it would have been nice to return to a tidied up bed. Apart from that perfect in every respect!
This hotel was simple but comfortable, great service and excellent location! The room was spacious for europe too!
Great location
When we come back to Porto, we will just look to book here. The location is excellent- a five minute walk from Trindade metro station (where the airport metro terminates) and around 10-15 minutes walk from the river front. Lots of restaurants around too. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is reasonably priced and offered gluten-free croissants and bread for my wife. Our room was a good size, comfortable and it had a good walk-in shower. Only negative was the bar area was not inviting to sit and relax at the end of the evening.
Brilliant hotel in the city centre. Quiet area but within walking distance of almost everything and if not the metro is a few minutes away. Staff are really friendly and always happy to help. Breakfast was very nice and even had gluten free options available. Recommend highly
Conveniently located in the heart of the city. Close to all public transit. Most tourist attractions are within walkable distance.
All staff was very friendly, and especially helpful to us! Room was comfy, and enough space for two people! Breakfast was very good!
Excellent experience.
Even after communication with the hotel before my visit, was offered two seperate beds instead of a king bed, as they were full. Told them that doesn't work for me , and then miraculously a room was available with a king bed. They did not have the sparkling wine and was told they will give it to me tomorrow as they were short staffed. Overall, not a great first impressions of they hotel. Would not rate it a 5 star.
Loved this hotel! It was beautiful, in a great location (everything was close by foot), the personnel was so friendly. Everything was very clean and even desinfected. The check in and check out was smooth and easy. It was also very quiet even if we were at street level. I would definetly recommend!
A wonderful stay in Porto
The hotel is in a fabulous location 1 block off of the Main Street in Porto and within walking distance of Sao Bento. The front desk young man was fabulous at check in giving us so much info on what to do in the city. The bed is comfortable and the room is quite nice. It does have a very small window. The breakfast was very good and worth the price. We would stay again!
Well designed, clean Hotel in the center of Porto, 1 min walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants. Good room service. Breakfast with a lot of pastries. The staff was a bit slow to process our check in. My room was a bit dark.
Extreamly friendly staff, that trys to accomodate your needs
Spotless hotel with a friendly service.
Check-in was great. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Hotel was spotless. Bedroom was slightly on the small side but there was adequate wardrobe space. Shower was great. We stayed on 5th floor and our room had a little balcony. Breakfast was very relaxing. Tables were well spaced out and breakfast room had nice relaxing background music. Hotel is an 8 minute walk from Clergios Tower and close to restaurants, bars and shops. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.
Great location and staff
Perfect location to base your Porto stay! Within walking distance to several main attractions, it was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Good size room, comfortable bed, and great shower. Some street noise but fairly quiet. Air conditioning!
Great place to stay in Porto
Very clean place conveniently located. Off Main Street. Walkable to most places, close to shopping and lots of excellent restaurants. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again
This was a great place to stay. Beautiful and modern hotel with great sized rooms. The location was perfect to the “happening” scene, staff always available to help, will definitely stay here again.
The hotel is well situated, being in easy walking distance of most major attractions. There are many good restaurants & bars in the area too. The staff are excellent & the reception staff greatly assisted my wife & I when our flight home was cancelled, juggling bookings around so that we could stay an extra two days in the same room. We would definitely stay there again.
Good location with restaurants nearby and not a far walk from anything.
Great spot in easy Porto location. Clean and quiet room. Someone else comment on the hallways smelling good and I thought that was odd until I stepped into the hallway. Lovely!
Excellent property, modern rooms, great water pressure in the shower. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Excellent staff and housekeeping services. Gym was easy to access, standard equipment was good. Front desk very helpful and efficient. Good European breakfast with some options for the US palate. I’ll come back to this hotel.
Elegant and quiet hotel close to everything
Charming room
Charming and clean hotel room, did not find it noisy at all from street (excellent sound proofing), included a safe and minibar with reasonable prices. Had a lovely balcony door that opens to the street. We didn’t have breakfast in hotel, but it’s a great location for many trendy bars and restaurants. Used the gym (you can book slots to use) - pretty limited weights (doesn’t have proper clips on it as well) and no cleaning equipment in gym - so could improve on that. Overall we loved our stay!
Lovely hotel, would happily return
Gorgeous room in a great location and the staff were lovely. I was able to leave my bag in storage when I checked out and the staff were very helpful when I tripped in the street and hurt my ankle, finding a bag of ice to put on it and pointing me in the direction of a pharmacy. As strange as this sounds, the corridors also smelt amazing! Really puts your stay off to a good start.
Great location but noisy hotel
This is a very nicely decorated hotel and the location could not be improved, it’s right in the best part of Porto for independent restaurants and bars. The staff were so helpful and polite. However, I wouldn’t be able to stay here again as I got very little sleep due to noise inside the hotel. The acoustics of the rooms - with laminate floors and very thin walls - meant to you could hear people in nearby rooms every time they walked around, talked, showered, played music. And despite using the “shhhh” sign on my door, the cleaners are extremely loud and play music and shout through the corridors in the mornings. Doors slam loudly. I travel regularly and this was one of the noisiest hotels I have stayed in. I came home tired after a 3 night stay.
The shape of the toilet
Clean, good location, but carry your own bag
Excellent location in a very walkable area, the room was spacious, and clean, with sound proof windows we couldn’t hear any noise from the busy neighborhood. Our welcome wine as Hotels.com gold members was waiting for us in our room and they even gave us a box of sweets. Our main concern was that we arrived from a road trip with a car and they offered no assistance with the luggage, I asked where I could park to unload and since the hotel is located in a narrow street the front desk agent told me to just park on the city parking down the street and bring my bags from there. I wouldn’t have booked there if I knew that was my only unloading option. I have just recovered from an injury… Sad there’s no assistance with luggage for such a nice hotel. Breakfast was 12euros/ person per day, we skipped it and had delicious breakfast in local bakeries, plenty around, even bars open at 0900 serve breakfast. We enjoyed the stay but wouldn’t stay there again if we bring a lot of luggage or come with our elderly parents.
Located near plenty of transportation options, within walking distance to many places to shop and eat. Very nice staff and well maintained property.
Great!
The staff during my stay was incredible! Sorry I didn’t take down their names. We had problems with a PCR test result that didn’t arrive. They kept on it all day until they resolved it for us!
Really modern finishes, great sized rooms. The gym could use a bit more free weights (my only minor suggested improvement). The location is very close to transit and not too far walking wise to the core southern area.
Bare in mind Porto is a small city, and as such small towns in Europe, the access street is very limiting, and there is no drive way to drop off luggage. Also, the property announces that they have a garage, which is one of the reasons I booked it. However, as I arrived from Lisboa with a rental car that I kept for my stay in Porto, the hotel staff informed me the garage was full. We had to park the car in a public garage, which is two blocks away (small blocks), so the luggage logistics (especially when leaving) can be a bit cumbersome. We did pay less for nightly parking outside of the hotel (roughly €3 less per day). The hotel is classified as a 4 star hotel. Do not expect US standard of stardom - it was a very nice hotel, very clean, but the room was quite bare. Very spacious for European standards, but basic features - AC, TV, small fridge and safe. We also got slippers. The mattress was the worse part of the whole experience; it was very uncomfortable for the price and star category. Still, given the cleanliness and space of the room, I recommend this property. If you are looking to be closer to the Ribeira, it’s about a good 20 minute walk, with lots of steep streets (to and from the Ribeira). Doable, but wear comfy shoes. Exe is located close to many restaurants and cafes, and there is a great laundromat just one street above. And lastly: do reserve a table at Cervejaria Brasão (just down the street from hotel) to have a great Francesinha experience.
This is a fantastic hotel. Very modern and very comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Staff were really helpful. There is also underground parking nearby if you are arriving by car. The only minor issue was that we were on the second floor and there was a little bit of noise from the street although the rooms are well insulated so it is not too loud. However, if you like a quiet night's sleep request a room on a higher floor.
Great location with friendly and helpful staff
Desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic. I was a little worried about street noise since we were in the bustling part of town but the windows must work really well for we heard no noise. Gteat stay; would come back.
A nice small hotel, very clean, very helpful and friendly staf with an excellent breakfast. Also, good location.
We were switched from this hotel to another hotel owned by the chain due to COVID. We were notified one week prior to our arrival of this change. The new hotel was 7 min walking distance and was a fine accommodation.
Great Hotel - superb location - very nice staff!
Fantastic hotel - great location - friendly and helpful staff - close to main locations
Very good stay
Excellent location. Friendly service and at an affordable price.I would recommend it to anyone.
the hotel is nice, the room size is good and cleanness. no hot water pot, no tea, no coffee... it has mini bar but have to pay!
Good stay
Enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Room size was fairly standard for European hotels (a bit on the small side), it was comfortable and well sound proofed. There was a good amount of closet space and counter space in the bathroom. Housekeeping was thorough. Hotel location was very convenient, easy walk to metro, train, and many sites. We didn't opt for the hotel breakfast, but did take advantage of the tea service. We just had to ask every day for additional tea.
Rooms are clean, staff was friendly, check in quite fast. In general we liked everything!
There is a massive building site next door and it’s on a very busy road junction.
ok Hotel But not great
The folks at the front desk didn’t know basic things like good places to eat or how to get to Douro Valley. The walls were dirty in our room and most rooms a noisy street. Breakfast was good though. We didn't really care for the area either but it was a 15 min walk to most things.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Really clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Staff very pleasant. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Fabulous location in gorgeous Porto
great location. Exceptional staff, friendly and helpful. very happy with the hotel.
Quick easy check in and very helpful staff Gave us an early check in with no problem
Overall a very lovely property close to many amenities..
Great location, efficiently run, would return.....
Lovely hotel fabulous staff
The staff were so helpful and gave us lots of travel tips. Nothing was too much trouble and the complimentary tea tray was great. The room was spotless and clean. Beds very comfortable. The room was at the street side and could be sometimes noisy but it was transient and not too disruptive. Would stay again definitely.
Excellent location, very close to main attractions.
Delightful stay in Porto!
Great location, helpful staff and good breakfast.
Good central location. Easy to walk to and from various sights.
Very helpful and welcoming staff and perfect central location
Money was taken from our room by the chambermaid. Yes, the chambermaid.
Clean and convenient
We stayed for 3 nights in August. I was worried the room would be noisy as it overlooked the road but it was so dark and quiet that we both slept like logs every night. I think it was because the walls of the hotel were so thick. It was about 25 minutes in an uber from the airport and close to lots of bars and restaurants. We didn’t gave breakfast included but there is a small supermarket nearby where we picked up bread rolls and pastries etc. You can request a kettle for the room if you want one. Clean room and bathroom etc. We loved Porto and would definitely go back.
Clean, good location, accessible
Great location. Walking distance to most sites.
Hash
Very good in all respect. The room was small in size compared to other similar hotels I have stayed in otherwise it would have been excellent. Would definitely stay there again and also recommend others to stay as it is very local to where the buzz is👍
Extremely well maintained and continually being cleaned. A great deal of pride goes into managing this hotel and it shows
A visit to remember
Lovely spacious room. Comfy big bed. Nice shower. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location within walking distance of everything.
location and that it was modern. I would have liked it to included breakfast
Central to all action, shopping, dining and many important landmarks. Rooms are outstanding as well the service.
Wonderful Base in Central Porto
Perfectly central location, lovely comfortable room with spacious and clean bathroom, helpful staff (english speaking). No complaints for the duration of my 7 night stay.
Hotel in a great location for touring Porto. Nice room. No parking and lots of roadworks along narrow streets made getting the car parked stressful.
The hotel was very nice. The only disappointment was the construction noise that started at 9AM and went on all day. We were on the first floor and it was very loud. Otherwise, the hotel was great.
Nice Hotel
Nice hotel. Nice people. Nice location. Unfortunately, Hotels.com shows this hotel has dry cleaning/laundry services AND laundry facilities however they do NOT have laundry facilities. Fortunately, there was a laundromat around the corner.
Really friendly staff at check in. They were incredibly helpful
Porto break
Excellent location, comfortable hotel with friendly service.
Great location. Room was a little on the small side. Very clean
Very nice place
