Quaint hotel perfectly located.

I had a lovely stay here The front of reception staff were exceptionally helpful and lovely. The rooms were good and i enjoyed the balconies. The location is really good. The breakfast was really good too with a large option of Italian pastries.

My husband and I greatly adored Etna Suites, it was charming, qauint and lovely.

This is a beautiful old palace converted into suites. Even though the entrance may look unappealing, just a very tall dark door, which leads to an internal patio and another door you must enter with a code, once inside, it's like you steppe into a Time Machine. Very high ceilings with an 1800 construction and modern decor. It was a great surprise. And don't let me get started with the beautiful, unique smell of the shower gel, which will leave you wanting to import it to your country!!

Location is great to walk around Catania. Hotel is a bit difficult to find and is quite old of course. Room was clean and tub was new. Water was warm but not hot making a jacuzzi tub have less value. The staff was very nice and the breakfast good. I would say to stay here if you want a great location. We paid for parking around the corner and it was reasonable and secure.

Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel. Really well situated and just across the road from the airport bus. And a beautiful park. On a busy shopping street (but with none of the noise, at least not in our room which was on the second floor and facing into a courtyard). Breakfast was lovely with a good choice, high ceilings and nice features. Comfy bed. Would recommend. Only downside is that there is no lift so be prepared to carry luggage up the stairs.

I’ve stayed at many properties in Catania but this is among the best. The staff is very helpful. The room was huge and bath comes with amenities. Daily housekeeping. And right on via Etna so shops and cafes are just downstairs but the hotel provides a great breakfast in a beautiful room overlooking the Bellini gardens. I can’t say enough about how nice this place is. There is no elevator if mobility is an issue but the staff speaks good english if that’s important to you. I will definitely stay here again.

The location is pretty accessible to transportation and walkable to some of the tourist attractions.

heavily perfumed room!

Nice B&B located in a desirable area of Catania (near important sites to see). The room was heavily perfumed in spite of requesting no perfumes due to allergies. The B&B offered a very nice breakfast spread. The room and amenities were comfortable but difficult to enjoy due to the perfume.

Mosquitos galore

The location and old world charm of this place was excellent. However, that’s where it stopped. The bathroom was pretty dirty and there were an extreme amount of mosquitoes in the room. We killed about 20 of them ourselves and it made for a very uncomfortable sleeping experience.

Etna suits is the highlight of our trip when comes to accomodation not only the location rather every thing in the property was placed correctly and conveniently. The staff is friendly and professional from Melania who received us to Marcello how served breakfast what a clean meticulous gentleman to Alfredo who patiently answered all our questions. Keep up the good work folks and thanks for your hospitality my fear it is a lost art. A special note to the folks who kept our room clean and tidy. A big thank you. To us there is no Sicily without Etna suits.

Loved it and Alfredo at the reception was great! The breakfast was good and well presented , the server was great as well! I really loved the place and wanted to extend for two more nights , 10/2 to 10/4 but it was no availability. I will really recommend this place. My room was at a very convinownt placement easy to reach. Thank you Etnea Family for making my stay lovable!

Great location. Quiet yet loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Only a 15 minute stroll down the mostly pedestrianised street to the main square.

Perfect location and right across from a beautiful park. My room was huge with 2 nice balconies and also very clean. The bed was big and comfy and the AC worked really well. The staff was super nice and helpful. Lastly the breakfast was great for a hotel breakfast. I had a wonderful stay.

The was overall great and the people extremely kind! The down points are: the place was on multiple floors and no elevators so be aware if you have a huge heavy luggage! The room was clean but you see the building is old and the paint was coming off the floor in the shower and the water was coming out of the door all over our floor.

The host was very gracious, the location wonderful, and the room spotless.

This property needs to make it VERY clear that it doesn’t have an elevator. I chose this hotel because of all of the EXCELLENT reviews, but honestly, I don’t know how it is possible. The location was good, the room was ok, although I had to sanitize the AC remote control before using it, it was filthy. Their key system is outdated, there are so many gates, doors and different keys to each one. But the major drawback are really the stairs you have to go up and down with your luggage, help is not readily available. And, the entrance from the street and the stairs inside the building are DIRTY. I understand it’s a historic building, but the marble stairs and the entrance could be (and need to be) power washed. The filth gives a really bad impression when you first arrive. I can’t comment on the breakfast because I had an early flight and left before it started. But, in my opinion the place is overrated on Expedia and it’s misleading. It’s not a place I would recommend at all.

Is a basic hotel! Is over rated! Entrances is dirty and sketchy, no elevator has to carry your own luggage! bed was confortable! Bathroom old dated, window facing garbage cans noise of the garbage bins in the night! Lady in front desk not friendly! Location some stores and restaurants

Hotel was perfect location close to everything and many shops and restaurants. Alfredo was very great communicating and helpful. Alibus stop across the street. Wonderful breakfast and room for family of 5. Great stay!

Funky sectioned room which was okay but the ‘smoker’ smell was intense. Not the cleanest property I stayed in but it was perfectly adequate.

We recently stayed at Etna Suites while on vacation and I was very impressed with the room, service and access to the main city center of Catania. The staff are super helpful with whatever questions you may throw at them and they have great recommendations for things to see and great restaurants within walking distance. We did not have an opportunity to try the breakfast as we were busy with day tours throughout Sicily however based on all the other service, I imagine it has to be great as well. A few things that really impressed me, the rooms are very clean, updated and modern and the beds are super comfortable. Also, they have a very secure location so if safety is a top priority, highly recommend Etna Suites. You actually have to go thru several secure doors as well as two doors that require keys before you land in bed. Super secure! I will definitely stay here again next time we come back to Catania which for me, can't come soon enough!

Very nice

The property is situated on Via Etna, opposite the beautiful Villa Bellini gardens. A quiet, property with a plentiful breakfast. It was perfect for our needs.

Really enjoyable and relaxing stay. The accommodation was decorated and fitted out to a very high standard. The room and bathroom were beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. The accommodation was very well located within the city. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast provided was very nice. The air conditioning was very good and silent for sleeping. I would recommend the accommodation and would stay there again if returning to Catania.

The room was not as advertised- they advertised the room as being a luxury upscale suite with a city view, it was far from that. If I could give Etna Suites a 0 rating I would. The walls were extremely dirty, no city view, and ants running around on the floor. I booked a week stay, but chose to leave after one night due to the condition of the room and the lack of cleanliness. The staff on the other hand were very nice.

Mini three day break, location of hotel is central to everything you want to visit, staff help and give good local information of things to see and do greatly helped our time in Catania, very easy to get to and from airport as bus stops outside would highly recommend this hotel.

The stay was great as was the staff. There was only one problem: the wi-fi internet connection kept cutting out, probably due to the thick wall of the building. --MW

I expected it to be Nicer. It was a Jr Suite for 4 people and the main bed was good but the two twins were unbelievable small for my son and on top of each other. The neighborhood was ok but felt a bit unsafe. I did not get good clarity on how to check in. I had no cell svs and when I arrived I had no way of knowing how to get into the big Grey beaten up doors but I was a able to follow someone in and then I had to yell up the steps to the check in counter to get anyone to let me in. The desk person yelled down a code which was hard to understand multiple times. I felt unwelcome and like I was bothering the desk person. I later saw two other customers trying to get in just like us , with no info on door codes etc. Very unclear and difficult.

Great location with nice staff and wonderful breakfast. Room was quiet, clean and updated. Front street entrance and stairways could be better maintained as it doesn’t reflect the hotel’s cleanliness and charm.

Communication in advance with What's App was excellent. The room was charming. The breakfast was really good. We were a bit confused how to get into and out of the building and there were no staff when we checked in. The instructions for getting in were very clear but it was definitely a process. Mostly non-americans staying there, so great for a more authentic experience. Great central location.

Quite basic, service was a bit disappointing

Good location, easy enough to find. The room was fine, rather basic, but service wasn’t great. The person at breakfast looked annoyed at my presence (I was the last one there must’ve been a slow morning) and kept looking over my shoulder. The reception likewise didn’t seem too friendly. Overall was an OK experience, but was expecting more to be honest from the reviews.

The suite had 2 lovely sized bedrooms and a well appointed bathroom. The outside was very off putting at 1st as it looked abandoned but once you knew the code and were inside it was a lovely building. There were a number of steps to climb.

The staff were amazing with communicating about how to check in when I arrived really late at night. It’s close to everything we wanted to see & very walkable. There are no elevators & we had large suitcases so that was a challenge. On Expedia it says they have room service & a laundry room, but they do not. Breakfast is 1euro per person per day there’s a tourist fee. Overall it was a nice stay.

I have stayed here on two separate occasions. The second time I stayed in the comfort double room which faced the street. It does get noisy in the early morning, so make sure you have earplugs. Not much that the facility can do about this...

Etna Suite is very clean, quiet, and opposite Villa Bellini. Walkable to the main area of the historical centre - about 20 minutes. Breakfast is terrific. Sebastiano was very helpful and waited past reception closing when my plane was late getting into Catania. All in all I highly recommend this property.

There is no lyft, the receptionist leaves at 7 pm and doesn’t return until 7am which meant i had no help getting my very heavy suitcase down the stairs, because I had to leave for an early flight, and I almost tumbled down the stairs very inconvenient. Also, no hotel shuttle to airport. Room was very clean and cute. It’s just an uncomfortable stay with no one in charge during the night and the ordeal in the morning.
