Thought that a suite should have some form of outside space. Otherwise a great place and food was good but rich. Staff excellent.

A great hotel for a few days relaxation over Christmas.

This property said "excellent," from my arrival, where I was greeted by a friendly staff and assisted with my luggage - to checkout, which was handled with efficiency, professionalism and friendliness. The staff was exceptional - the room cleaners, restaurant staff, front desk, security and grounds people. Everyone offered assistance, suggestions on where to visit, and staff even created a special drink for me when I had a raspy throat. The environment was peaceful, each area of retreat offering a different experience. If you're looking for a space to wind down, to treat yourself (the nearby spa), to think, to walk - then this is the place.

Awesome stay, friendly staff

Was at the hotel for 4 nights for business. Great service. Great food. Nice places to gather for business discussions. Lovely grounds that are kept 100% prime. Graded my room to the first floor with outdoor sitting area- worth the extra! Staff was super friendly and helpful all day.

Very nice hotel but poor wifi for standard of hotel. Also swimming pool lacked access handrails making it difficult for some residents to use.

Wonderfully friendly staff, amazing location of hotel at the foot of a mountain, the most beautiful gardens, lovely spa and excellent eating options on the Terrace. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent here and look forward to a return visit in the future.

Disappointing

Beautiful place, with a great breakfast and very good service, but shower did not work. The water pressure on the shower was a trickle feed plus you could not adjust the trickle between hot and cold water. It was either boiling hot or ice cold. The technical staff only starts at 7:30 in the morning, which is well after I have left the hotel. Despite reporting the problem I never received any feedback why the shower was not working. It is my perception that the hotel was aware of the problem before I reported the shower not working.

It was an amazing stay. I loved my experience at the Spa...such tranquil atmosphere! The hotel staff was very friendly.

Murky pools

Lovely find, swimming pools a bit murky though. Some staff very friendly and helpful, some a bit aloof. Would however definitely stay again and make it one of my regular hotels when in the area.

Good value and comfortable stay

The hotel has recently been refurbished. The location is convenient to get to the Winelands and very good restaurants the area has to offer and has all the necessary amenities on hand. The rooms are clean and fresh and bathrooms a decent size with bath and shower. The breakfast is fantastic and the hotel has a very relaxed feel about it. We enjoyed the hotel and this is already our 3rd stay and recommend the hotel. The service can be slow at times but if your on holiday that should not be a problem. We will be returning.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Good room, ground floor garden room - very clean and comfortable. Small bar is sometimes noisy but other lounge areas are available. Good restaurants.

Lovely friendly hotel.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially with regard to the Handy Mobile Phone they provide for the use of guests - As we were visiting relatives we only ate a couple of the evening meals at the hotel, but they were excellent. The only downside for us (we are in our early 70s) was the lack of a second armchair in the room.

Erinvale comes highly recommended

This was my 3rd stay at Erinvale Hotel and Spa. I can highly recommend Erinvale for visitors to the area. Stunning setting and very friendly staff.

Nice Hotel but administration let them down.

Nice place but they got my booking wrong and sent me to the Lord Charles for the night, the rate was however not reduced so I lost all the way.

usual excellent service-refurbishment now completed and gardens look great sadly for us confusion over Suite booked has left us with sour taste having paid top price for a much lesser room than suite booked prices up 30+% to pay for it

The most professional reception

We had a problem with the rental car,they contacted the rental company, when the help was late they contacted the garage again,when technician was not able to solve the problem ,they continue the follow up. We could enjoy a splendid dinner at Vergelegen and when we came back all was fixed. Although different people in the reception were involved ,the information flow was perfect. Absolute great and professional service,so uncommon now a days

Great product that needs service to match

Great facility, area, setting, maintenance and mesmerizing. In short staff are not engaging enough in hotel guests, no warm welcome, no attention to detail and no fond farewell. Room was not cleaned properly for arrival and second day. Breakfast has no structure, host or even management presence to guide and welcome guests to breakfasts. Friendliest person on estate was the lady that sweeps and cleans the public areas and parking lot(probably outsourced) She even asked how our stay was and wished us safe travels. Not even reception staff on arrival or departure had this basic hospitality interaction with us.

No atmosphere or excitement . Two small dirty pools with hardly any chairs or other facilities and no service.Tv had very limited channels.Staff not very friendly.Will not return.

third year running have stayed here as excellent service throughout. Lovely hotel , great location.Will return next year. Only downside is the swimming pool which was dirty, the cleaning apparatus doesn't reach the extremes as hose is too short!

Very convenient for the garden route

In our experience none of the staff could have been more helpful. From helping to retrieve my binoculars left in Hoedsprit Avis car and getting them returned to Erinvale to the garden boys helping to change a flat tyre.

Luxurious Hotel

Oasis of luxury, comfort and excellence. Decor and gardens beautiful and immaculate. Breakfast buffet, picture perfect and delicious.

Excellent estate accommodation though the staff service was tardy. Staff entered the room uninvited, towel warmer didn't work, tea and coffee were not replenished and a functioning air conditioning remote control was not provided. Otherwise the amenities, cleanliness, food and upkeep of the estate was excellent.

Brilliant setting and has potential, poor service

Great buildings and superb setting. A pity that the staff seemed pretty disinterested and at times did not even bother to look up from their computers when waiting at reception to pay - someone next to them had to finish their phone call to attend to me. Also ate breakfast in the pub, after the normal restaurant had been used for a function the night before. No music in the background in the pub setting and everyone clueless about where the food was and no one to guide them. Lost of room for improvement with regards to the guest interaction. Rooms were spotless and well maintained but old furnishings now.
