We had a lovely stay at Epchris House, which is lovely old Victorian house in a lovely location, walking distance from the centre. Lovely hosts, exceptional breakfast and the home made cakes were such a treat! We would definitely recommend this B&B. Thanks for welcoming us with our dog who also enjoyed his stay!

Fab stay

Friendly welcoming hosts. Smooth check-in process. Provided useful information about the area and local eateries upon arrival. Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Excellent breakfast provided with a great selection for all needs. Would definitely recommend and stay again 😊. Dog friendly too.

Needed the sash window fixing as was making a noise all night with the wind.

Wonderful!!

Fantastic little gem! We stayed in the Garden Suite which was ideal for us and our two dogs. Cath was friendly and very informative. Accommodation was great. Bed really comfortable, kitchen & bathroom had all the amenities needed. Loved the morning delivery of our first course of breakfast in a lovely hamper with granola, yoghurt, compote and a lovely orange juice. The cooked breakfast was brilliant too. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

Such a lovely place to stay. Cath and her staff were amazing, so friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely beautiful stay. A wonderful property, friendly staff who were not imposing. The food was just glorious. Ample space in the room; we really appreciated all of the extra special touches. We will be visiting again - it was such a treat!

Lovely room and breakfast

Great friendly staff, very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The breakfast was lovely with lots of options with a lovely view and terrace. Very good location for the local area.

Short break

Lovely hosts. Excellent breakfast. Nice garden area to enjoy a drink and some sunshine. Quite a hill to climb which was fine for us but anyone physically challenged might find it difficult.

Very friendly service, everything was kept lovely and clean. Also there was a great selection of gluten free options for breakfast. We very much enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again!

Attentive host, enjoyed stay, just s little overpr

Was made to feel very welcome, attentive host,. Accessible room outside which worked well. Good accessible bathroom. Although room generally quite small to accommodate wheelchair but managed. Overall good stay but perhaps s little overpriced. ,,

Really friendly welcome from owner Nicky. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Immaculately clean and well maintained bedroom and ensuite shower room with beautiful quality furniture and furnishings. Fresh milk in room fridge for tea and coffee. Delicious breakfast with loads of choice. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The hotel is uphill from the town but it's not too bad a walk, the room was lovely spacious and clean, the bathroom is a little small but sufficient for a few day stay. The outdoor pool is lovely on a hot day after a walk up from town 😊.

A lovely place to relax, a short walk to town

We enjoyed our stay here. Very attractive b and b with lovely garden, terrace where you can have breakfast with your dog,and swimming pool. The pool is great and we had it all to ourselves on the afternoon we arrived. Very dog friendly with mat and water bowl provided. I would have scored comfort higher but we had the twin room which was not as large as the others and was very hot, not having the large opening windows of other rooms. Each room has a fan, which is a thoughtful touch on summer nights, but I did feel hot and found the bed on the hard side for my liking.The shower room is good but compact. Might be bigger in other rooms. It's all very well kept and is very quiet. We barely heard the adjoining guests at all and the fridge in the room was very useful.

We arrived early but this was not a problem as our rooms were ready. Nicky was very welcoming. Everything was clean and of a high standard. The gardens were lovely with a pool, free range chickens, goats, and a lovely view. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Easy walk down into town - not so easy coming back but just take it slowly or get a taxi! We all had a lovely stay in this friendly hotel.

The swimming pool was excellent, we had it to ourselves! Pool towels were provided with a deposit of £5 each. The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice!

We enjoyed the lovely garden. We spent an hour sunbathing by the pool which was lovely and private. This hotel was an easy walk to the centre.

Great location within 15 minutes walk to harbour. Clean and comfortable room. Good choice at breakfast. Friendly staff. Beautiful garden around property with plenty of outdoor seating. Parking available on site. We would definitely return if visiting area again.

Friendly staff . Good breakfast . Great base for exploring the area

Booked a room with King size bed, so slightly higher rate but the room and facilities were excellent. Light, spacious and airy room as was the rest of the property. A little walk uphill from town, but that is our preference. Scenic, sea view, route down to town is probably 20 minutes max.

Hidden gem in Ilfracombe

We stayed for three nights with two dogs and were made to feel very welcome. We had a large room overlooking the lovely garden and there was dog walking nearby. We would certainly go back.

Very nice B&B good location just a short walk to town. Service was good and my gluten free diet was well catered for. This was the first time in my many travels that I have had a choice of soya yogurt well done!

Quaint fishingvillage/holiday stay

It is a 1700 period house, grand and stately but very modern finishes. The owners personally greet you and we heard another couple making subsequent bookings, repeat visits. A short walk into town and out of the bustle of the holiday makers and traffic jams.

Wonderful place to stay but note no wifi in room

Very nice place to stay with really nice owners and a gorgeous garden. The only thing to note is that the wifi did not work in our room (we were told it would work in the shared sitting room but we did not try it there). Otherwise, our stay was wonderful!

Lovely hotel close to everything

A wonderful place to stay if you’re after a quiet relaxed retreat. Lovely hotel and grounds are gorgeous. Staff are so attentive, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Very much a ‘ homely’ feel and impeccably clean. A lovely walk into Ilfracombe so no taxis required. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

A really good choice

A great place to stay, easy walk in to town which has some lovely cafes and restaurants. Friendly welcome, efficient and informative with maps, taxi firms etc. Lovely room with great bath, lots of hot water and really appreciated the bottle of water and fresh milk in the fridge. Really nice breakfast.

Really impressed by the care and consideration from the owners and staff to guests. Super breakfast choices. Room immaculate. Loved the extra wildlife in the garden.

All round lovely stay

I stayed two nights here and wished it had been longer.The staff were genuinely warm and helpful,the manager greeted me in person even though I arrived very late in the evening and showed me the new born baby goat in the garden the following morning.The hotel is lovely,clean but characterful with a stunning garden and view from the top of the hill.Breakfast was very nice ,served by a delightful member of staff. The room was very pretty with thoughtful touches,water and tea to hand.I would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly and accommodating

Very helpful about things on in the area. We were given free tickets to see a live show one evening. Any problems with maintenance were attended to promptly.

Stayed here with my best man the night before the wedding. Nicky was fantastic and could not have been any more helpful. Especially letting us stay in study after checked out as was still writing my speech. Highly recommend

Lovely guesthouse within walking distance of all

Lovely room and friendly staff. Within walking distance of everything. Only negative, shower was either lukewarm or boiling hot and kept changing temperature. No other complaints, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

An ideal intimate friendly B & B

Both of the hosts and the staff were very welcoming/friendly and had time to chat, like old friends. The hotel is situated in a nice quite part of Ilfracombe within a few minutes walk of the town. The room we had was large, spacious and well appointed with plenty of storage space for clothes. Plenty of safe on site parking spaces, an outdoor pool and lovely gardens. The breakfast was brilliant, a vast array of well cooked food as well as cereals, fruit etc; really set you up for the day. As Ilfracombe is ideal for exploring the North Devon coast, we'd definately stay here again.
