Nice hotel with spa good food nice stuff
The spa does it for mw. More convenient choice than some of the popular options. great water
I had a 4-night stay and used all the facilities they offer. The exterior of hotel is a bit outdated as well as the SPA centre, but all other areas including the rooms are full renovated, extremely clean and well maintained. I have also used some of the chargeable treatments such as Salt Cave, massage, mud treatment and all was good, hygienic and served by friendly staff. Buffet breakfast was also good with many options to chose from. The food served at the Bistro was also good. Overall, nice experience and I would like to return in warmer and greener month
Overcrowded spa and out-of-date gym
Not very happy with the hotel overall. The spa was always overcrowded. Some staff were nice but some were not. The gym equipment is out of date, the running machine made my back pain as it could count off the impact of my steps, which never happened to me. Very very old running machine. The gym mat was very dirty and old.
Schöne Zimmer, sauber, freundliches Personal, wir hatten eine tolle Zeit
Great service all around! Friendly staff!
Great place to stay and perfect if you want a quite getaway on a separate island
Wonderful stay
Had an amazing stay at this hotel with my daughter in-law. The staff were so friendly our room was lovely and clean and up to date. The spa services and pools were wonderful to utilise after a day site seeing. I would highly recommend this hotel, if I return to Budapest I will stay again.
Lovely and quiet place to stay, but within 10 minutes from downtown.
Cannot fault Ensana Thermal. The surroundings are perfectly tranquil, serene and picturesque, and if you’re looking for a thorough relaxation experience, you’ll hit the jackpot here. We were bereft to leave, I’ve never enjoyed a hotel so much in my life. Already cannot wait to return.
Loved this hotel on an island in the Danube river - beautiful parkland so a really peaceful spot and natural spa under the island with the hotel having several pools of varying temperatures - wonderful- going back after Christmas
Amazing SPA hotel
Super
Nice hotel and spa Not very friendly staff at reception
Good accommodation, and roomy. Staff not very informative. Signage lacking. Easier to find way around building coming from outside, rather than inside.
Ensana Thermal Margaret island has helpful and friendly staff and good relaxation facilities and treatments. Also, Margaret island itself Energy is lovely. It has nice walking, biking, and running paths; forested areas, gardens, a few ancient ruins, and more!
Excellent Hotel
Lovely interior, modern, clean, excellent breakfast and spa, recommended
Quiet,,, on the shores of the Danube, nice grounds. Outdoor pool disappointing smaller than photographs portrait. Room cleaned to variable standards. Buffet breakfast excellent , however needs to be arranged different. Difficult to access at peak times , but of a scrum.
Good place to stay, just that is not convenient to go downtown, you’ll have to use bus 26, and metro. The island is nice, If you have a car is excellent. We called Bolt and Uber . Around 6-7000 Forints one way to the Wheel. Thermal bath is excellent, also the breakfast is excellent.
Nice stay
Excellent breakfast and service. The only complaint is about the WIFI. Most of the time network was nonexistent in the room or balcony.

Perfect
Totally loved this hotel. We had read so many reviews complaining about miserable staff (miserable Hungarians in general) and poor service, but this was not our experience. The staff at the hotel and indeed everyone we met in Budapest were absolutely lovely. The rooms are massive, the breakfast superb, spa facilities incredible. Margaret Island is beautiful with fountain displays, floodlit gardens and a great range of places to eat. The 26 bus takes you to tram and metro stations and you are in the city centre in a matter of minutes. I honestly have nothing negative to say about the hotel, the staff, teh food, the island or Budapest
Nothing .over rated over priced. Parking is a bad joke.Rooms dated, carpet dirty Ac noisy toelette seat loose filthy balcony maintenance washing Ac filter in my shower what I have to clean.......
Amazing hotel, I will go back for sure!
Wonderfull hoyel, good service, friendly staff
Location, the access to the location, and the spa amenities. Margaret Island is a great location for a city break.
Revitalizing experience
Highly recommend Ensana Thermal Margaret Island for a revitalizing stay in Budapest! The hotel is beautifully situated on the serene Margaret Island, offering stunning views of the lush gardens and the Danube River. The rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished, providing ultimate comfort. The staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive to every need.
Once the changed staff at front desk my experience changed! On prior check in was the opposite - They had bad unfriendly person at arrival who gave me stinky rooms and not offered upgrade. Glad they fixed issues after my complaint report reflecting disappointment
Perfect stay
Fab stay in a great hotel. Bit of a walk to the debate but we knew that and the walk is lovely through park land
Great hotel
We stayed at Ensana Thermal Margaret Island for a night 4 family trip to Budapest with our 6 and 8 year old children. The hotel is situated on the north of Margaret Island, which is in the Northern area of Budapest. The Ensana Thermal is a lovely modern hotel, we were welcomed by a friendly reception team who took our bags and stored them for us until our room was ready. Our family room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed; separate room with sofa bed, desk and toilet for kids. Large bedroom with king size bed, large bathroom, lots of storage. Fridge/ mini bar, kettle, nespresso machine, toiletries, hair dryer, robes and slippers. The balcony was large too, with table & chairs and sunbeds. The only negative was that the balcony needed a good sweep, there was lots of dust and cigarette buts on there. The spa area to the hotel was great, it contains an outdoor pool with sunbathing terrace, indoor swimming pool, spa pool, thermal pool, sauna, steam room and aroma room. The children were welcome in the pools, but it’s worth nothing these are relaxing pools, so not for games and splashing etc. If that’s what they want, the Palatinus Strand outdoor pools are on Margaret Island and only a 10-15 min walk away. Breakfast was served buffet style, in a large and light restaurant with options to sit in or outside. The staff were attentive and helpful. There was a good selection of food to choose from to suit all tastes.
Nice hotel in heart of Budapest
Nice spot, great breakfast buffet and thermal baths
Absolutely amazing experience. Great staff. Great amenities. Great room. Fantastic view.
Beutituful place. Nice condition in SPA.
Absolutely amazing. Great experience.
Perfect spot for relaxation and renewal in the heart of Budapest
Excellent spot in Margitsziget
I really like this hotel. Excellent staff, good rooms and tasty breakfast
Recommend for Business and family trip in budapest
Very large and various breakfast. Swimming pool of 18/20mtr with 3 lines to swim. Parking on site (to pay). However the smile from staff at the reception is an option!
Winter Break
Hotel was great lovely location pools were really warm. only downside was the food was not served hot ours came out just warm we did point this out to management. yo may consider getting budapest go app really handy for bus and tram trips off the island . traffic busy on bridges
Excelent
Great stay!
Really nice place, unfortunately only one of the elevators was working, and it was sort of crowded at peak times. Hopefully elevators will be working as per design. The wellness facilities are just great, great, great …
Just been refurbed
Disappointing
Previously we had a more spacious room, but did not object too much as we were still facing the Danube. Bathroom was too small for us and disappointingly the shower gel and hand wash dispensers were not refilled. Top of window there was a spider’s web full of old flies, net curtain had a dead moth and table lamp had cobwebs and dust on the top. Breakfast was up to usual food standard as was the Baroka Bar.
Three days in Buda
Was very nice and comfortable stay. Dining options were limited, especially for the indoor restaurants. Breakfast was excellent.
Overall a good mony/value hotel. Great shower and location is decent in daytime but at night its limited due to public transportation schedule. Air conditioner was not the best and on high speed made a terrible noise. Also the usb sockets didn't work. room cleaning could have been a lot better and the bed is not as comfortable as one would expect from a resort hotel
Beautiful location. The pools were fantastic and the track around the island was ideal for running.
Everything was incredible! Thermal baths, food, clean facility, kind servir in dining room. My only disappointment was the massage treatments. I was disappointed in their courtesy and that they offered 42 minutes when i paid for 50, 50 minuted is already not much. The option of 60 minutes would of been nice.
The hotel is set in a beautiful island park with lush vegetation and clean air. The spa is top class. The views of the Danube river and the Budapest hills are fantastic. And you can easily reach the center of Budapest.
all was good
Very relaxing experience the suite was stunning.
We will be back
Excellent service and friendly staff.
This hotel is a very nice place to stay. Very nice rooms , beautiful views and an extremely friendly staff.
This is a lovely hotel with delightful amenities, especially the thermal baths and pools. Unfortunately it is located rather far from tourist attractions so taxis or car rental are recommended.
Yup
The spa was a massive plus, we used it everyday, very clean and tidy rooms, food good in hotel, staff polite and helpful.
Excellent hotel
Clean and beautiful room with great view. Courteous and professional staff. Excellent amenities. Highly recommended!
We had a few problems with our room safe and toilet seat broken food in hotel ok. Location excellent to explore but just found hotel to be ok nothing to take me back
Pros Swimming pool, thermal baths, sauna and steam rooms are fantastic and you don't need to pay for these facilities which saves you going to one in the city centre Location is very quiet and Margaret Island is very peaceful Margaret Island has running track going round which is great for runners Staff very friendly Plenty of choice for breakfast Rooms lovely and well kept Robe and slippers supplied for when you want to go to the pool Restaurant and bar were not outrageously expensive and very reasonable for a drink All rooms have balconies with views over the river Cons Location is quite a distant from most tourist spots meaning you have to walk or catch transport Evening meal has a lot of choice but was luke warm One of the two lifts was out of order for the whole time we were there meaning we had to constantly wait for it Smoking area was right by the front door meaning you had to walk through a haze of smoke at times Overall though I would use this hotel again
Very nice, clean and friendly stuff.
The spa pools are amazing. There are extensive clinics and massages and therapies available on-site. The buffet breakfast and dinner leave nothing to be desired. Top quality, many choices, helpful staff. Budpest is now my first choice for travel holiday and Ensana Thermal my first consideration for hotel bookings there.
fine hotel good spa & facilities very friendly staff
Amazing
I am very disappointed with my check in. I had requested and had confirmation from you for a king bed via WhatsApp and you gave me a twin room. I am pregnant and you have no therapies available for me and do not write anything about it in the website. The lady at the spa yesterday said I can do a facial but no appointments available for two days. Very disappointed o am paying for something I cannot use and when I asked for early check out your reservations department said I will be fully charged
Great thermal baths, client oriented, friendly staff
Love the thermal water and the rooms and the food are amazing
They control the A/C, not the guests.
Although it has a great location and it has many amenities, I was not thrilled about false advertisement of having A/C in the room. They had the individual rooms A/C units turned off and even though is was a little cold outside, inside the rooms was hot. I complained at the desk and the staff coldly told me to just open the window of the room. A thing that I hate doing because of bugs and the smell of cigarettes. I paid for a service and I was denied of it during my stay. Not cool at all.
Hotel outside needs to be update
this is a great hotel in a fantastic location. food was excellent (although a little expensive), and the surroundings are lovely for walks along the islands many paths and parks. there's lots to do on the island, including sports and entertainment. you can even hire bikes and buggies from the hotel -although it's not cheap. I didn't use any of the Spa facilities but from what I saw, they looked to be excellent -2 indoor pools, and a smaller outdoor pool (the latter used mainly for cooling down rather than exercise)...I had an upper floor, Buda side aspect which was very quiet and you see the sunset...I imagine a lower floor room on the Pest side (facing the main entrance and access road) would not be as pleasurable . There is an amazing rain shower in the bathroom and a fridge/minibar so everything you need - I had a Premier Plus double room. Finally, if you're here for the Sziget Festival as I was, it's an easy 40 minute walk to the festival entrance.
The location on Margaret Island is fantastic as is the thermal spa.
Very relaxing holiday to stay in Ensana hotel. I have booked 2 room for this trip with family but I haven’t received my vip benefits but I got it on the last night of staying after I emailed to hotel manager. The staff are friendly but sometimes they can be very cold and no smiles. I specifically like the breakfast buffet restaurant and there’s a waiter asked us for room number. He was polite and friendly. The hotel needs more staff like him. We enjoyed all the facilities in this hotel and loved the atmosphere on Margaret Island. We shall come again in the near future.
I absolutely loved my stay there. The hotel staff are so friendly and kind and were really helpful. The same can be said for the on site cafe! I have a nut allergy and when I informed the waiter he was kind enough to verify with the chef whether there was any nuts in my dessert before serving it to me. I was really mindblown. I also had an amazing Thai massage and had an amazing time at the baths. Overall it was an awesome experience and I will definitely be back!
It is a 1960s era Soviet architecture hotel “resort” with a natural spring spa and wellness facility. Limited upgrades such as partial A/C that still remains inadequate cannot hide the socialist realism designed for another era. Margaret Island is a unique property from the pre-Communist era glory sadly fallen into disrepair and limited redevelopment to attract a higher class of tourists still fail in favor of backpackers overrunning the Island during summer festivals. Lacking proper resource, long term vision and execution makes property worth a 1/2 day visit for demanding visitors interested in exploring yet another hot spring bath in a city full of them. Really limited buffet styled dining sold at a premium price completes this sad experience as a last resort. The full restaurant in the nearby twin hotel was closed during my stay probably just as well. Capable front desk staff diligence cannot save this place from its 2/5 rating.
The property had great pools. The area around the hotel was very beautiful and walkable. The staff were friendly and helpful
Location is excellent. Margit Island is wonderful with his first grade parks. The hotel is in the middle of a reshaping process. Possibly becose of this a heavy burned smell fils the air of most hotel places. The esthetics of the newly reshaped rooms is not at the level expected from a 4 star hotel. Maybe 3. Furniture and floors are bland. The breakfast was good to excellent, but some of the foods where of a lower quality, especially cold cuts and local porc specialitys
Great Hotel in Budapest
Excellent place to stay while in Budapest. Walking distance to public transportation and excellent spa and baths!
All good except for a faulty shower
Was nice except with faulty shower burnt my body twice!
Short trip
Hotel was well placed to access both sides of city. It catered for all family types. Staff were helpful. Spa area a bit far ftom centre of hotel but offered a number of facilities.
The hotel is located on the beautiful Margaret Island (Margitsziget), which gives it a unique sense of tranquility and a huge park around it. Rooms, staff and food are really good. The only downside is that the hotel's free Internet was a bit choppy at times. Also note, as of 2/16/22, the image of the pool shown as the main image is from an adjacent hotel (the Grand). The swimming pool at this hotel is smaller but still OK. Overall, the hotel brings great value to travellers.
This is our go to hotel in Budapest. You are on an island in the middle of the great Danube river and in a very cherished spot of Hungarian history. The surrounding walk ways, trees, and gardens make it feel almost like a sanitarium. The new Ensana ownership hasn’t put much effort or money into improving the guest rooms. The upper executive rooms are still unavailable due to the lack of renovation and the room amenities are spartan.
Excellent in every way
Everything was perfect. Fantastic wellness.
Everything was perfect. All services were on very high level. The wellness zone is fantastic. It is not the first time for us staying in this hotel, and we will come here again.
Amazing hotel
Very nice hotel clean and well decorated Quietly located in private island this hotel has very modern facilities and affordable price for 4 stars I will come back next time I would like to visit Budapest and I highly recommend
Great hotel in heart of Budapest
Very nice hotel on an island in the hear of Budapest. Rooms comfortable, big enough, with nice bathroom, walk-in shower, also balcony was there. Breakfast is very good, lots of choices. Didn't go to the spa and pool area, so cannot comment on that. Overall very nice hotel, with lots of parking available, but not for free, about 7 EUR / night.
Friendly staff clean excellent facilities I will be staying here again the only thing I was disappointed with was the the restaurant the food was pre cooked buffet.
Wonderful hotel for a family vacation
Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location. Great access to the parks and buses to get back into the other areas of Buda and Pest.

A winner! Gorgeous location and thermal delights
This was our 10th visit to the hotel over the last 15 years and it really does seem to maintain or even improve its standards every time we visit. They really do get the concept of maintenance and everything seems so well run from a staff point of view. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and courteous and breakfast is excellent. The thermal pools are lovely and the steam/sauna facilities are particularly pleasant. Best of all, you're away from it all on beautiful Margitsziget, while at the same time easily connected to both Buda and Pest with the frequent No. 26 buses that pass by several times every hour. Simply put, this is a winner in every respect.
