The complementary Happy time was till 7:00 pm however all the snacks were done by 6:00 and no refills were provided😦
Staff was great. Although the hotels.com listing showed free parking, parking is actually $15/day. Room smelled like mildew and the bathroom wallpaper was peeling. Also pool area was in poor condition with rust and mildew smell and i think the pool chemicals were not quite right as the water was very cloudy. That was dissapointing because thw indoor pool was the reason we chose this hotel over others in the area.
We were surprised there was a parking fee now. Usually when you stay in the Arboretum area you can avoid that versus staying downtown. Other than that the busser at breakfast this morning was so friendly and upbeat! She deserves 5 stars!
Firstly, what I enjoyed the most and only thing was the bartender. She was helpful and nice and best person on the property. Checking in, took forever cause it seemed as if no one worked there. Was about a 3in gap under the front door leading to the hall, safety concern. The ac needs to be looked at, couldn’t cool the room. Lastly the window to outside opens and the safety latch is broke. And held on by a wire string that was on its last leg. Only stayed couple nights but will pick a different place next time I’m in the area.
Love the breakfast
Enjoyed our night, it was clean and comfortable, we had a peaceful night.
Nice hotel in a good area
Not a bad property… BUT I would not stay here again. The sink in the bathroom did not drain properly. Did not have king bed as requested. The furniture was stained, although it didn’t appear dirty. Then there was a surprise about having to pay for my parking when I arrived at 11 PM. Was not expecting that and did not see it in the description.
Great place but need better pillows
Greatly enjoy the spaciousness of the hotel and rooms. Only problem was the qualifying the bed pillows. Each flattened to almost nothing to support your head. Even 2 did not provide support.
Great place. Evening social event aka 2 drinks and snacks is wonderful concept.
Weekend Bliss
Love the area. Perfect getaway
We got some sort of bites or rash from either the hot tub or the bed. Thinking it was more the hot tub as the water was green. The hotel front desk said it was because the color of the tile but it even smelled algae like. All three of us ended up with what could be a rash or bites.
The place was clean, quiet and safe, plus they allowed my dog.
Parking cost not included. At a residential site? Not a good selling point. Hotel needs updating. Elevators antiquated. Took 30 minutes for water to drain from tub. No sound proofing between rooms. Heard guests in next room swearing at each other all night and dogs barking. Pool was green and smelled! Furniture in room was dirty!
The place was not clean, and was long overdue for a renovation. Mold in the bathroom and water damage. Spray painted toilet with the paint chipping. The toilet seat itself was gross. The floors were not clean at all. The uncleanliness was uncomfortable. Also they charged an extra $50 at check in that they stated would be refunded at checkout, but a week later has yet to be refunded. Staff was tolerable but not at all friendly. Also had to pay for parking in a parking lot that was not even close to full… needless to say the embassy used to be a place to be but it is now not. Will not be returning, and am sad that it’s the place I chose to spend the night on my wedding night.
Hot water in the bathroom wasn’t working. I took 2 cold showers while I was there. Not happy at all.
Swimming pool and tub in dire neglect.
The air condition broke and everyone left the hotel because it got extremely hot. The front desk staff was overwhelmed by the situation and didn’t really have a plan to help everybody.
The breakfast buffet was great! Staff accommodated a late checkout which was also great. The complimentary drinks and snack were a lovely surprise as well.
Elevators were faulty. Carpet needs replacing. Need more waffle machines in breakfast area.

Thinking about not coming back to this hotel again
Bed and sofa bed are very uncomfortable
The booking from Hotels.com states free parking and we had to pay for parking. I would have stayed somewhere else where parking is free.
We were there for 3 days. The hotel was very nice. The staff very helpful. They brought up the blanket and pillows very quickly when we asked. The text to us everyday was a nice touch. Wish the happy hour snacks were a little classier than chips and crackers.
We have stayed here many times over the last 5 years. The facilities have really deteriorated with no signs of repair.
Ok experience but not up to Embassy standards.
Staff are welcoming and helpful. But this Embassy is not keeping up with ALL THE OTHER Embassy Suites. Pool area is awful - ceiling is dripping some kind of water into the pool and hot tub. The water is green. Breakfast is really weak. Hot food is only ordered by counter so you no longer see what is available. Have to keep asking for more bacon or hashbrowns which is inconvenient. Orange juice is super diluted - more like just water. We had two room 321 and 322. They were aged but clean. Beds were nice. The rooms were didn’t cool down enough to our liking but it was 103 for the highs outside. For the price that we paid - we should have chosen one of the other Embassy Suites or the Drury Plaza which is comparable. Good luck.
The only thing that I did not like is the 15.00 for self parking!!
broken toilet
Nasty showers
Mold in showers
It was okay
Our stay was wonderful. The staff was hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay.
Check in was super easy ladies at the front desk were extremely friendly and courteous. Happy hour was fantastic. Room was clean with a little mold in the bathtub. Water pressure was low, air conditioning did not get cool, Poole was a dark green and so was the hot tub however, both were still open for use.
Beautiful hotel, great location!
My family had to leave Houston due to no power after a Hurricane. The room we got had a living room and a bedroom that was very comfortable and became a great home away from home while we could not be in ours. The breakfast and lobby were also very nice, and complimentary drinks for all customers were a nice treat. Upon arrival we actually got a room with a very off putting odor, but the front desk switched us no questions asked! I really dislike complaining about things like that so it was nice that I was heard and believed.
This property needs a complete renovation. It feels dirty and rundown. Our room had furniture that looked like it was purchased at scratch and dent sale. The mold on the bathroom ceiling is a health issue. We couldn’t take a bath and had to take showers because the plug was broken/missing. Breakfast was ok, but we had to sit at a booth that had all of vinyl worn off of the benches. There is no way to properly clean the benches when the vinyl has exposed the cloth underneath. At checkout, the manager was taking a couple on a tour and didn’t even acknowledge that I was there trying to checkout. He left with no other staff member at the counter to help me. After waiting about 10 minutes, someone finally came out of an office to help.
Discouraged Hotel Stay
Hotel has No Free parking. Even though the App says it does. We were fined because all parking has to be paid for. Check the Taxes for room because there are a lot more now. Main areas was Hot and humid. Only One elevator was working. Pool went out after first night. It wasn’t that great this time. We have been here before just not sure if we would stay again.
Great stay
Super nice staff, willing to accommodate situationally
Just Okay
The hotel and room were clean but in need of repairs. Only one elevator was working, making the wait longer than necessary. The breakfast buffet was well done - lots of food options and great service.
OK if the location is desired
Rooms are large but everything a bit dated and dark. Generous happy hour and lovely cooked to order breakfast. Note surprise parking cost despite empty parking lots all around and on site
Very very old hotel…
Very old hotel. Old sheets. Old towels. Old building. Everything is old. Rooms smell old. Sorry, but definitely not your typical Embassy Suites experience :(
Old and dated. Dark rooms. Noisy air-conditioning
The property needs maintenance.
this hotel was very dirty, smelly, wifi was horrible and the hot tub was cold. i specifically picked this place because it had a hot tub. i even called before i booked the stay, to make sure it was working and was assured there were no issues. very disappointed in my stay at this place
Charged for parking, front desk not helpful. Bartender closed bar early was rude didnt want to be there.
*
I was surprised they charged for parking
Pull out sofa was old and saggy. Mattress size was only half the size of pull out. My kids were very uncomfortable. There was also old carpet smell in room. Needed some fresh smell. Service was great.
Facility definitely needs improvement in rooms. Only one elevator worked. Location good but building needs upgrade
Loved our stay!! Clean, quiet and comfortable in pretty setting. We’ll go back!!
Not Good!!
Not the usual Embassy that we are accustomed to. The worst we have ever encountered.
Free parking has changed. Now self serve $10 per night Great breakfast. Go back to free parking
Horrible
They put me in a handicap room, unexpected fees, elevator broken last five years
Shower non functional; telephone did not work; bathtub drain did not drain; only one towel and washcloth and since phone did not work we had to go to front desk to request a second; info we received said there was a shuttle to the airport but there was not; info we received said the restaurant was open Sunday and Monday night- it was not. We have stayed at dozens of Embassy Suites and this was, by far, the worst.
Way Overdue for Upgrades
I travel to Austin a fair amount and stay at all the Embassy Suites. This one by FAR is the most outdated. Will not stay again until remodeled. Only one elevator works and the rest of the place is dark and dingy. No bugs or anything like that, just tremendously outdated. Free breakfast is good and so is the happy hour. Even serve full size beers during that...however, seems like about the only time the bar is open. Room was clean but seemed like water damage in various places. Bathroom was the worst part of the room. Needs complete demo and start over. Staff was real nice thought.
When my husband and two boys went to check in, they were told that the elevators weren't working and offered a room on the 4th floor. We are still trying to negotiate a refund. Very unhappy.
The couch bed had wires stabbing my daughter n looked felt extremelt old n uncomfomfortable
They came through when we couldn't find anywhere else to stay. Very accommodating and nice.
No compensation
We enjoyed our stay. The only complaint i had is that the elevators were down for our entire stay so we had tto use the stairs and we were on the 5th floor. We assumed the hotel would offer some type of compensation for the inconvience but we got nothing. It would be nice if the hotel reached out to me with some type of compensation possibly a free nights stay as we frequently visit the austin area.
Sadly...stay away
This hotel was in bad shape: both elevators out of order, dirty swimming pool, janitor's equipment strewn about, leaking roof, and a staff that, while friendly, was not especially competent.
Staff was helpful
Very nice place
There was an issue with the temperature of the shower water one day. The staff was very kind and helpful. It was fully taken care of by the next day. The staff also let me store bags for a little bit after check out for me to walk around before airline departure. 45-59 minute walk to Q2 Austin FC Stadium.
Loved our stay. Only bummer was that out of two elevators, one was broken so long elevator wait times. I wouldn’t step foot in the pool. Very cloudy and murky. Other than that, it was lovely and breakfast was delicious and you get two free drink coupons for their happy hour.
It was a great location. There was a movie theatre close enough to walk to and also a Mexican restaurant next door that we could walk to. They also had a very nice breakfast area and plenty of seating. This used to be a very nice place to stay but it has fallen on hard times. Air conditioning was not available, the indoor pool was cold as ice and it looked dirty. Hot tub was very hot, and the suite we stayed in was old and some of the fixtures didn't work. The houskeeping staff spoke no English, and it was not easy communicating with them. The prices were high and since I booked this hotel on Expedia, I was told that I needed to contact Expedia to see if they would help me. I stayed during the Easter break to visit my grandchildren so I stayed because I didnt know if I could book another hotel. I stayed and paid for three nights.
The room was unbearable as we had no AC, sheets that didn’t fit the beds, 1 towel, and no Wi-Fi and 1 working elevator for the entire building. The location was perfect, and the little dog park area was great but boy this place is a disaster.
No AC
NO AC
Upon arrival, the night shift front desk attendant was very friendly. Breakfast had a great selection and the attendants were quick with service. The cocktail hour was a nice touch for 2 tired parents with 3 little ones. Simple, easy food selection even the kids could snack on. Also the front desk staff was helpful in pointing out attractions to do as a family. We were just at an embassy in Chicago and they were getting updates so I did ask the front desk about this and they will be getting renovated as well. I will never give a hotel a lower review on facilities unless unbearable and poor customer service. I will say I do hope they work on the pool maintenance. The pool was an ice bath. And I noticed a ceiling very dark and discolored (I don’t want to say mold because I am not an expert). We just started selecting embassy suited because of the additional perks for the kids but sadly the pool was not swim-able. We made the best of it and hung out in the hot tub. The access to an outdoor area was also great on a warm day. Location was great to get on the highway and not far from downtown. We thought this area would be a little more walkable but we had transportation so it wasn’t the end of the world.
The property is in really rough shape. Stains all over the walls and carpet, didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while, there was a dirty washcloth in the shower so I know that at least that hadn’t been clean. Pull out sofa was super uncomfortable and that was from kids that sleep on pull out sofas everywhere we go. Torn wallpaper, musty smell, constant shortage of towels, pool area was gross but at least they were using chlorine because it was burning our eyes even though we were outside of the pool watching the kids. Only one elevator worked so we took the stairs the whole time because it would take forever. And it was still $250/night. Breakfast was good though and the staff was super friendly.
Breakfast was great. The property could use some serious maintenance to give it a more up to date feel (starting with the broken elevator). Very inconvenient that my room was not ready at the time of check-in, especially for a property with this brand’s standards.
Checked in on Tuesday elevator is not working checked out Monday. Elevator still not working.
We were shorted a couple of towels. There were 4!of us staying-2!adults and 2 children but were given only 3 towels. Also, it would be nice to have had scrambled eggs in a serve your self fashion as a opposed to having to wait for the chef to make them. I can see waiting for specialty omelets but not for scrambled eggs.
The floor was wet in the entrance of the room.
1 of the 2 elevators worked. Pool was filthy, layer of sludge on top of water. Hot tub had a layer of dirty foam on top. Shower had mold in cracks and corners and rust from top to bottom of shower edge.
I enjoyed the free drink Happy Hour and the breakfast was pretty ok. The workers there seemed genuine and hard working. However, the hotel is run down and 1 star at best. One elevator was broken and the other was very slow. I took the stairs from the 5th floor many times. This place needs a serious renovation. The pool looked dirty. Does any audit the star ratings on Expedia? I'd be shocked if anyone could prove to me how this place earned its merit. It looks like the last time it was anywhere near mediocre was 1994. I will not stay at an Embassy Suites again because of this experience.
upon entering the building you can feel the environment is relaxing with all the real plants placed throughout the hotel. gives a real zen feeling. Definitely would stay here again
The hotel was convenient everything was close too eating areas and shopping!!
Room was dirty cereals on the floor , two towels only , sofa bed was broken and when you sit on the sofa you sink , the furniture was so dirty . When you open Faucet water gushes from under the sink
We had an awful time here. We stayed two nights, 4 adults. They put us in a one room king suite even though we had booked a double. Contacted the property and they had no doubles available. They did offer us a one night refund which was okay but on our first night we were stuck next to some very loud young girls. They refused to turn off their music and they were up most of the night. Staffing didn’t do anything about it. Also with 4 adults, we only got 2 towels and one pillow in the pull out couch. I asked for more and they just took the same two towels and brought two more. Overall, the only good thing about this place was the breakfast.
Excellent breakfast options! We enjoyed the happy hour also. Had a few drinks before leaving for a concert!! Front desk lady was very kind. I recommend staying at Embassy suites! We stayed in Dallas, and now Austin! Both met our expectations! You just can't beat made to order omelettes, hot cakes, sausage and other varieties of breakfast options! Very good!!
Only 1 working elevator in a large hotel
Bad elevator
Room was ok but only one elevator was working and it was extremely slow.
Elevators were not working- service was horrible me clean towels
Not again at this location
One elevator only, working slowly for a sold out hotel. Looks like housekeeping under staff, no room till 3 pm. Staff was ok but condition of hotel was not up to par with other embassy suite. Looks like there was lack of management
Customer Service and cleanliness were terrible. Found bed bugs and no one cared when we complained. Very rude front desk lady. Very disappointed because I stayed at Embassy Suites By Hilton at different locations and they were very good, but this location was very bad. I hope the hotel management will be aware of who they will assign to help at the front desk.
The front desk employees were nice. The room was very clean, and spacious! The build your own omelette station was really good as was the rest of the breakfast!
Lobby area and curb appeal was nice. Learned facility was under construction upon check in. Only one working elevator. Also, air conditioning did not work in our room which made for an uncomfortable stay with two small children. Rubber stripping lined on bathroom floor to prevent water from running out of shower. Stripping was peeled and water was all over the bathroom floor. Room did not meet my family expectations for staying at Embassy Suites.
Beautiful facility, I enjoyed every moment of my stay!
Our room was large and comfortable. It’s an older hotel but appeared clean. The breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately, half the elevator capacity was disabled in our area and we typically had waits of 5 minutes for elevator service.
Love the indoor pool & hot tub. Would like to see the indoor pool a bit warmer in the winter. Great place to take the kids. Love happy hour & the breakfast.
Worst hotel stay
Terrible experience!! The first room we were given had a broken toilet that was overflowing within minutes of arrival. We were loved to a second room that didn’t have hot water and horribly loud clanging AC. So we got moved to a third room within 4 hours of checkin. The elevators were so slow that it took 10 minutes every time you used it. The hotel as a whole looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 80s. The front desk was nice and did what they could to accommodate for all the mishaps but it wasn’t enough to make it right. Will not be returning here.
Hotel needs upgrade on rooms and elevators too slow too slow. Only one working and it took me one time over 20 min just to go down to lobby.
Everything was very nice except only one elevator was working and it was extremely slow. I also noticed the same piece of paper trash was in the elevator all day and into the late evening. Everything else was good.
Great made to order free breakfasts. Beautiful atrium. However the property needs much more maintenance and attention to detail. The door handle on the inside of the bathroom door in the pool area was broken and not repaired over five days. Plates were left on tables in the elevator area for days without being removed. One of the two elevators was out of service and had been so for some time. Getting up and down was very very slow. Desk personnel were frequently gone.
Fix your 2nd elevator
Was amazing my first time at an embassy suites and will definitely visit again. The front end receptionists were friendly and amazing! All around it made me a loyal customer to the brand. However, issues that need to be addressed! Fix the 2nd elevator having one takes forever. Because of the elevator issue I missed the complimentary drinks by two minutes and the bartender on duty refused to accept my ticket, which was annoying. But other than that I truly enjoyed the experience.
Worn Out
While the hotel looks great on the outside, the inside is storybook 1980's/early 90's.The common areas are okay, but only one elevator for six floors! The hotel rooms were terrible - I had to move 2x - once because the AC did not work; then a running toilet. Rooms were dark, musty with low popcorn ceilings. Much better alternatives nearby.
Great place to stay.
This is our go-to hotel when we visit family in Austin because of convenience and location. Great breakfast buffet in the mornings, and although an older hotel, the rooms are clean. The stay this time was great except for one small detail...only one of the elevators worked, and it was terribly slow. Minor detail...unless you need to be somewhere.
The staff is super friendly and informative. The facility is clean but need to be updated. Only one elevator was working but it is super slow and the hot tub wasn’t working either. I wish the bathroom was updated as well. However I thought it was a good deal, friendly staff and clean facilities.
Not Worth The Price
VERY OUTDATED!! Room was not clean missing items in room. Unstaffed and while staff was nice did not acknowledge issues. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioners are so loud in room it smells musty. Stained furniture. The best thing about breakfast was omelette station. However day two food ordered and never brought to our table so we left. The other food was semi hot. Everyone who works there was very nice. We had four people in our room only 2 towels and 1 was cloth. I asked for another room because this one was missing minibar that was paid for and it looked like the room was still in process of being cleaned and stocked. I was told there are no rooms available to switch us. I had to ask three times for mini bar items. We asked for towels again as well. Pool and hot tub were disgusting. They both had a dirty fill you could clearly see. This hotel needs a major deep clean and remodel. If not a remodel a deep clean and more upkeep. One elevator broken and one that was so slow it barely moves. This is the worst Embassy we have ever stayed at.
Rooms were very clean and well kept. However broken elevator, nasty pool and hot tub was cold. Breakfast and happy hour was nice though.
I chose this hotel for the disability shower for my husband who uses a wheelchair. The staff members were super helpful. Jordan helped me check in and pay for my parking. The other staff members were great, too. I did not like paying for parking. The parking info should be clear before a guest submits an online reservation. The microwave in the disability room could be higher, perhaps on the counter.
