The staff was very friendly and professional. The area around was beautiful. We had a pool which we shared with only one unit and an amazing view! Unfortunately, the room was quite outdated, and some things didn’t work the best. When we requested anything, it took a very unusual long time to get it or we would need to ask again after an hour or two. The food was great! We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner.
Fantastic stay We come every year Perfect
Nice hotel and beach area. Very clean and spacious inside. Breakfast was nice but didn't enjoy the evening buffet which comes with the booking if you want it or not. Drinks and restaurant food in the hotel very expensive. However there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby if you don't like an evening buffet or expensive drinks or meals.
Elounda Bay Palace
The resort is truly five star and my stay included half board and was quite good. My ocean view suite was spacious and well appointed and maintained. The private sand beaches are quite nice there are four of them. The resort is very large with plenty of dining options which they provide a 30 euro discount. Had dinner at the Peruvian/Japenese restaurant and it was great. The service was very excellent overall, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The lobby is dated and would truly benefit from a contemporary refresh, first impressions are important. There are very nice water sport offerings for an extra charge but reasonable. The gym is very nice there are a few, and you have quite a few pools to chose from. The location is paradise with sweeping views of the see and mountains. Upgrading your room is well worth it. Highly recommend for a relaxing time in Eastern Crete. A taxi into town Agios Nikolaus is 15 euros and 15 minutes. The town is very charming with plenty to do, shopping, dinning and bars.
Great location, first class service. Good food (excellent buffet). Everything well thought out. We really enjoyed our stay and we would be happy to go back.
Very pretty resort, with very beautiful private beach/pools/bars on the water and nice restarants, in a quiet and secluded yet very well connected spot next to the cute towns of Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. Good food options for breakfast and dinner (did half board). My only negative comment is that, being a luxury 5 star hotel, they need to offer complimentary water to their guests, considering how hot is the weather. Also, I found the way they hid minibar menu pricing quite malicious, it was literally hidden in a different drawer than the minibar and found it by chance (in other luxury resorts I’ve been, it’s always been free). Besides, water was so overpriced and well above the price capped by the Greek government (maybe they think tourists don’t know?!). Again, this is minor, but got annoyed, as I felt deceived.
Dated and shabby property. Needs update in rooms and common spaces. Food was just ok or average. Coffee not very good. Beach water had garbage washing up. Our room was complimentary updated when we arrived and some of the staff were very kind.
Fantastic Stay
It was a fantastic three day stay over the Easter period.
Very peaceful place with a nice private beach. Great for relaxing
We loved it! Amazing grounds, food, beach. Staff.
It’s a very pretty hotel. It is run professionally. It is in a great location with a very picturesque private beach. Drinks and food is pricey for Greece. The personnel were very friendly. Rooms are getting a bit old but everything was clean and in working order. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone considering to stay in this part of Crete.
Wonderful sraff who made me feels so at home.
The hotel doesn’t match with the value of the money paid for it, the rooms are very small.
This hotel does not meet standards for 5* hotel. Nature, beach, sea are wonderful. Hotel itself is old and has not been invested in it or renovated. We had to change room 4 times in 5 days. Staff at reception was really bad and unfriendly with exception of Yannis and Maria who were both very nice and professional. First staff at reception gave us a room with 15C inside and told us that room temperature can not be adjusted. We paid for a room for 3 people. This first room she gave us was extremely small. I asked to give as a room where we could adjust room temperature and she was not honest and told us that they dont have it( not true later we found).I would say it was eco room not a standard one. We were freezing there and requested to change a room and then they gave is a room where it was 30C and told us itwas sunny room. It was very disappointing. It is a shame that management does not invest at all in this hotel because nature and hotel are wonderful. Not having functioning AC is simply not acceptable for 5* hotel. Even third room which was the best we had experience that chair broke on balcony and bathroom door was not working so we had to use another room for one night. Food was amazing. Staff in main restaurant was wonderful. It was very clean. Cleaning lady was coming twice and cleaning. I would say that part was exceptional. I loved nature, food, location. But management and reception staff with exception of 2 people I mentioned before was really disappontimg.
Great staff. Very responsive. Great food. Very beautiful.
Beautiful property with an amazing and quiet beach. Perfect setting and the breakfast buffet was excellent.
Excellent Experience - We Will Be Back!
Excellent service, friendly staff, great location right on the beach with incredible views and a wonderful spa.
Amazing location with private sandy beach and water sports. There were no upgrades the evening we arrived but We received a wonderful upgrade the next day. We opted for half-board (breakfast and dinner) inclusive option since we were traveling with the kids, and were very happy with both. One surprise was that we had to pay for water and tea at dinner after piling up lamb and steaks, felt a little cheap 😂. Overall a wonderful experience
Beautiful property with very professional and super friendly staff. Excellent food and resto options. Nice private beaches. Really perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Hotel a bit isolated from the rest of the island
Less than 5 star
The staff are lovely and very professional. However this is definitely NOT a 5 star hotel - no Idea how it gets that rating - the gardens were lovely but the beaches were often filled with cigarette butts and not cleaned - one day there was so much garbage floating around the sea, we call and asked them to clean up the bay. The food for the morning buffet and evening buffet was less than Ok. Very poor quality . The poor staff there are overworked and do their absolute best and are sweet - the the place is very tired looking. The other objection we had was that they kept having private corporate parties so That we were not able to access the bars or a restaurant several times during our stay. Plus then we get the noise from their parties - The food at rhe a la cartw restaurants was good but pricey .
It was our first time in Crete. We absolutely loved this place. Rooms were clean and comfortable, you had access to beach, pool, sports amenities and delicious dining. The staff here is phenomenal. Always making sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your vacation. Will most likely be returning 😊
Great green territory. Private sea with lovely shadow trees along it. Seasports.
Goos facilities overall and the private beaches were ideal
Excellent location, very friendly and professional staff, rooms cleaning two times a day, private beach. Very relaxing. And Agios Nikolaos within 10 min of drive if you need some action.
We loved in bay that it was in and the hotel was within walking distance of the town.
utstanding aervice
Superlative professional and friendly service.
Expedia once again let me down. I use the app for Everything and I expect the app to do the communicating. Not only did the app not alert the hotel- but, like a fool in the middle of the night at 1 am after being lost for an hour and half bc there is no signage in lights on a totally black hilly road- bc Elounda doesn't advertise in lights. The one night cost was worth 150 euro not 275 euro. Though everyone was kind- communication between Expedia and property was zero. Finally at about 1 am I got an email that I had to waste 40 min of my time downloading email confirmations & forwarding on. I am unlikely to return to this property. I was so excited to stay there.
We chose to stay at Elounda to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday. The rooms were wonderful. We had 4 interconnecting rooms with balconies and really good facilities. We chose a half board package which allowed us to take breakfast and dinner on site. The food was good and a reasonable choice was available in all of the restaurants. It became clear that many of the guests were regulars and returned to Elounda each year to enjoy the facilities. I can fully understand why. The beaches are clean and the hotel offers an excellent option for family holidays.
Rather run down hotel, restaurant service is organized chaos. Was very surprised it was part of the Leading Hotels of the World with a 5 star rating. If you are used to luxury, don’t go there.
Our best hotel in Greece
This hotel was absolutely excellent. I was a little taken back that the taxi ride was €110 one way. Once we got to the hotel it was worth every euro. We had a beautiful room facing the ocean everything about the room was Great Especially the view facing the ocean. The only thing better than the room was the food offerings. My wife is vegan and they made sure every meal she had all the large selection and she couldn’t believe the variety involved. Each night was a different celebration so there was no repetition in the dinner or the breakfast. This beach is the best beach we’ve experienced in our month-long stay in Greece. Powder sand beach, low winds , Plenty of area to find shade. The beach chairs were great and the water was crystal clear very low waves. We cried when we had to leave this hotel the experience was so good. If you are looking for the perfect hotel on Crete this is the location and the hotel you could not do better if you had to.
Beautiful beach, elegant resort, excellent food in the buffet, very pleasant staff, pretty gardens, coffee machine in room, nice little touches throughout - fresh roses in room, waiter push button call from sun loungers.
Elounda Bay
Excellent holiday in a magical place
was just great from any perspective.
Hotel was great, food offer is extremely generous and good. you are forced to pay for water as they not offer tap water. in addition the WiFi is very weak and was impossible to connect. Taxi offered by the hotel is 40% higher then regular price
Great setting in the beach . Rooms were dated , half board option was restricted to dinner buffet only so not worth going half board . No entertainment in the evening even in peak season. One night they had Greek night which was 65op. WiFi is dreadful so bring your own
Perfect place for a family holiday
The setting is exquisite and it is a perfect venue for a one week holiday with more than enough to do. The beaches and sea are fabulous, food in the buffet and lunch time restaurants is really excellent. There is a sushi restaurant that offered super expensive food that wasn’t very good, but otherwise great. They messed up one of our room bookings (forgot about one of our sons) but eventually sorted it all out. Strongly recommend for family holiday - we were 7 and it worked well for everyone
The staff are excellent, and make everybody feel part of something special.
Nice beach and pool. Queen bed is actually 2 singles pushed together. So if you are sleeping in the middle 9f two mattresses it gets very uncomfortable. So not a good night sleep at all
The hotel caters to all your needs. Good facilities and water sports available. Very close to the quaint town of Elounta and Spinalonga island. The negative is as it is a 5* hotel extras can be expensive. I enjoyed my holiday in this tranquil, picturesque place.
Excellent service and a beautiful location, would highly recommend.
A single member of Bar staff hitting my girlfriend not cool ...,
Relaxing Hotel
A very good hotel. Good staff and a very calm vibe. A little lost in the 80s in terms of style and appeals to an older crowd or those wanting to totally relax. Not crowded when we went and made us slow down. Service caters for you doing nothing at all but relaxing. A few niggles re plastic in the seas of the coves, the half board food being a little monotonous and water sports not being able to do sailing lessons for our family together but nothing major
The location was perfect - easy walk into the little town of Elounda. On site facilities very good and the staff were really lovely.
Wonderful setting, super friendly staff. Good spa though very pricey, great breakfast and several ok+ restaurants on site. The mark up of wine prices is totally exaggerated (4-5 times supermarket price for identical bottles). Spacious, nice room but overall rather dated.
Ultimate Luxury
Absolutely fabulous from arrival.....we were the very first guests at the start of the season and were made to feel like a King and Queen. We have stayed in similar quality hotels in Elounda and this was far superior in every sense. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay extremely pleasurable and memorable and we look forward to visiting you again in the future. We are seasoned travellers especially to Crete as our son lives in Heraklion and this was our best stay ever.
Pretty good... 3.5 star @ 5 star prices
Ok The Hôtel on the whole was pretty good although a 3.5 star with 5 star prices imo . We paid for the most basic room (mountain view) and that is what we got so fair enough.. note to management Angeliki should be washing pots and not dealing with customers in jet bar !! I think she has had a personality bypass (not just one day.. every day) also the golf buggy driver that looks like mr Bean was very rude... having said that all other staff were very good friendly and professional. beach Was great :) you could probably get a adult only area would be good idea. Situation of the hotel is fantastic only a 10 min walk into Elounda. And on the way are shops where you can buy cheap water etc (instead of £2 in minibar ) we did get fresh flowers in the room and a bottle of wine on arrival which was a nice touch. Dinner in what we affectionately referred to as “the cantina” was acceptable at best (staff were very good) but chef needs to try and decide what food items work well together ! As in beef wellington was great but very odd things to go with it ... we found it odd that in Greece there was no Greek food (ie moussaka kleftiko kopo lamb Slovaki ) the Thassala restaurant was very good and definitely 5 star and worth the extra money..
Great Hotel
I can recommend this hotel. It's in a great location with really helpful staff. We went sea kayaking which was perfect from the hotel beach.
BEAUTIFUL!!
The most beautiful Hotel we have ever seen! Professional and friendly staff!
A beautiful resort and an incredible staff. Second year in a row with you, my room was not as nice as the one that I had last year but your staff, a few of them imparticular, made our stay at EBP unforgettable and very enjoyable. We added a night & were there a total of 3 this year, went many places in Crete but saved the best for last & stayed at EBP our 3 final nights in Crete. Such a beautiful island and such incredibly kind locals in the towns here as well as at your resort.
Wonderful stay at Elounda Bay!
Staff were amazing, friendly and hospitable. Resort was gorgeous. Food was spectacular and plentiful at the buffet. Location was far from port but we cannot afford to fly in on a private helicopter, for which they have a landing pad. Staff treat all guests as if they could afford it however. Lovely place and worth the drive from Chania. Or better to land in Heraklion.
Family friendly resort
This was our first time in Elounda so we were excited about our upcoming stay. This is a resort hotel and yes it's a beautiful place just not for us. It's more of a family resort as there's nothing for couple's like us not traveling w children to do. If you choose their included dinner buffet there are kids running around everywhere. If you rather go to their other restaurants instead of the buffet you get 30 euros credit each but reservations are a most. We tried that & I can tell you that they are not needed, the restaurant was empty as most guest go to the buffet. At the Japanese restaurant the 60 euros credit you get doesn't get you much plates are very small and quite pricey. We asked if there was a town nearby with restaurants and hopefully other things for us to do but they don't reccomend it. Of course they rather keep you in the resort. Thankfully we went anyway and just a 10 min drive we found what was a great little fishing village, great restaurants and cute shops!! There also is the town of Agios Nickolos about a 30 min drive much bigger a lot more restaurants and shops. Agian I'm not saying it's bad all I'm saying is that it's a family resort, very quite and I don't reccomend it for couples. We would have much rather stayed in town and the restaurant "The Ferryman" that was reccomended by local shop owners did not disappoint!!
Beautiful location, superb hotel
We had a fantastic stay at the Elounda Bay Palace. Excellent facilities, attentive/ pleasant staff, and a well planned resort. Hotel is in close proximity to local stores where stocks of water etc can be purchased. Great environment for families, the private beaches are well kept and not too crowded. Dining facilities give variety. Buffet dinner in the main restaurant each evening was well prepared, and breakfast was a wide choice of local and international dishes. How could they improve? Provision of complimentary water for all guests! Overall, a highly recommended choice. Would be happy to stay there again.
Grand resort, superb amenities, yet a bit oldish
At first, we got a room with a non working AC and it took too much time (almost 24 hours) until they agreed to change our room. This was a bad start to our vacation. However, after that everything was really great! The private beach is out of this world! The pools and restaurants are great as well as all other public areas. A grand hotel indeed! The decor is a bit oldish for our taste but then again, nothing that you can’t see in the pictures when making a reservation, so no surprise in that
Beautiful location and great staff. Food at buffet could be better. Staff at Sail up bar are fantastic.
Luxury stay in prime position
We were looked after by the efficient, professional and friendly staff. Everything had been thought of to ensure we were comfortable and informed in the luxiourious surroundings.
Fantastic location, staff were excellent
It was a really good break. The beach was excellent and the location picturesque. The only issue we had was that there was no water in the room or the hotel unless you paid for it (inflated prices). We missed coffee making facilities in the room. The air conditioning was not enough at nights due to the heat. Those were the only negatives. The staff could not do enough to make our stay memorable. This included the front desk and the restaurant staff. The food was really good. It was a wonderful break.
Quite simply, great property with great people.
Quite simply, great property with great people.
Elounda bay
The property is great. I was told that we will receive a $100 spa credit but was told at the property it is $50.00 for two services. The refused to honor it. We did request a wake up call and they never called.
Nice hotel , nice facilities & staff for exercise &water sports . Good breakfast but very Average dinner buffet . Very small room & expensive but pleasing spa.
bad experience
stuff wasn’t helpful at all they did a lot of mistakes
Great location, very nice beach, hotel staff very nice and polite, the food was good. I found it expensive, they need to renovate the rooms, and buy new tvs. I order a coffee from room service and they charged me 21 euros. 6 euro for the coffee and 15 euros room charge. Plus the tip, 25 euro for a coffee.
Good hotel, rooms need a little bit of attention.
Overall a good stay. Early season so hotel still gearing up for peak.
Good location with private beaches
good but anything that extra is too expensive, if you want to practice this sort of price you need the quality of the food irreproachable well that was far from it.
your own little paradise
lovely private beaches, beautiful scenery, and add to that rooms with everything we could wish for....except for tea and coffee making facilities, but you only have to phone reception and kettle and cups are provided...nice little shops close by if room service is too much fuss...lovely restaurants down in Elounda, Olivas is great! nice buffets provided in the hotel for breakfast and evening meal. Thalassa fish restaurant on site is nice for a treat but expensive. cocktails in the piano bar or the sail bar are lovely... really all good!
It is a good option
I enjoyed my stay their. The only remark is that everything there is chargeable and expensive like the water activities, room coffee and water...
DO NOT STAY HERE
We stayed here with the family. My wife is pregnant and we also brought our 18 month old. The private bungalows we booked with a pool were not cleaned; ac didn’t work; phone didn’t work; refrigerator didn’t work so milk for baby went bad. Hotel staff laughed when we complained. We had four rooms in all and no one cared. The gym only opens after 10am s forget the morning workout and steam / sauna only open 2 hrs a day. Staff is rude and rooms smell like sewer. DO NOT STAY HERE if you are accustomed to luxury accommodations—this is not a leading hotel of the world. Its leading in terrible service, rude staff, and disappointing accommodations.
Very disappointing stay.

Upgrade made our anniversary very special.
We were given an upgrade when we arrived to a deluxe suite (room 105) which was a wonderful surprise. The suite itself was very spacious with two double bathrooms, a large seating area and balcony with views to the sea beyond. The mini fridge was replenished regularly and the bed was very comfortable. The beach area is wonderful with clear, blue sea and a sandy beach. The swimming pool is very large, whcih is great for doing lengths. The breakfast and evening buffet were execptional. The food was freshly cooked and there was plenty of choice. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for an excellent break.
Perfect for couples and families
The hotel is like a small village on its own. A quite oasis with several shops, restaurants, bars and beautiful sea views. Great for a romantic getaway but also family friendly with playgrounds and kids pools etc. There is are onsite water sports activities you can book including scuba diving with very friendly staff. The rooms can do with some updating and the buffet is good but nothing to rave about. Overall very happy with our stay and hope to come back some time.
Great hotel
Great hotel, everyone very friendly. We stayed in a bungalow with our own garden. Very close to beach and pool. Walkable distance to Elounda or you can take a bus or taxi.
Disappointing honeymoon, no sea view
It's not that this place is bad, it's just that it is not good. Here you are just a number. We paid a lot of money to celebrate our honeymoon here and nothing was special about it. We also paid more to have a sea view bungalow, and only got a view of bushes and a roof!! Everything here is also really expensive and the food mediocre. The staff wouldn't even help us to find a clean table for two when we arrived for breakfast and dinner -- three times this happened!! I suppose this could be good for families that just want a compact holiday, but it was so disappointing for our honeymoon. I wish we hadn't stayed here.
2 star room at a 5 star resort
Disappointing room and disappointing response to my voiced concerned. Ants in the room, bed so used it was slanted to roll right out of bed, there was a hole under the sink that would allow any rodent to enter directly into the room, and the shower flooded the toilet room every time it was used. The room was surface cleaned but certainly not maintained. Example- the door to the shower/toilet room had a horrible squeak- the person that brought us to the room heard it and said she would report it and have someone fix it today. We came back from our swim and then dinner and still no fix. My mom fixed it using oils from a hair treatment. So the next afternoon when the workman finally came- he saw it was fixed. After one night I went to the front desk and voiced my concerns with the room- I was given a shrug and immediately told they were fully committed. The resort is beautiful, many pools, restaurants and bars to choose from and great location. Service was more mixed than should be for an all inclusive 5 star resort. We spoke to their quality assurance person upon check out and were informed that our room was a traditional Greek holiday bungalow that many people enjoy it. This implies that "my room choice" was the problem. On an up note- the sommelier was top notch and Georgia in the sail bar was superb.
Excellent location/ very polite and friendly staff
Excellent view, perfect beach, TERRIBLE FOOD
Excellent location, close to the beach. Did not met our expectations. The food was like 3-star hotel. Dissapointing!! Not recommended
Beautiful hotel right on a private beach
Had a fantastic few days at Elounda Bay Palace. The staff were amongst the most friendliest, helpful staff i have ever met. Everyone greets you with a smile and goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The food was fantastic in all their restaurants and very reasonably priced. The activities on offer were varied and something to suit everyone. The pool/beach area was spacious, quiet and private. You did not feel crowded at all. The pool was only a few meters from the beach and there were plenty of pool/beach staff around making it a safe place for children swim. The room was pleasant. Extremely clean and a fair size. Would definitely return here again.
Nice hotel for relaxation and tranquility
Nice small private beach, hotel is well located. The staff is great and the food is good also
we were up graded to elounda beach hotel free of charge give me quotr for october2016 for the above hotel half board
Beautiful location right on the beach
Lovely gardens lead down to gorgeous flood lagoon style beach with submerged lighting that makes the sea glow turquoise at night. Friendly helpful staff. Plentiful food, reasonable wine list and prices. Overall a very relaxing holiday in a beautiful location. Thorough recommend the Elounda bay palace
Idyllic Cretan Hotel in Ideal Location
As one might expect all extras in this 5 star hotel are a little expensive. Having said this the hotel is beautifully positioned near Elounda in its own extensive grounds and has a number of private beaches for swimming and sunbathing. The staff are excellent and make the stay at Elounda Bay Palace. Food is self service from a large buffet and the menu varied throughout our 2 week stay. The meals were first class, beautifully cooked ( some items to order) and the fruit and vegetables were very fresh. With its multiple restaurants and bars and other facilities it is not necessary to leave the hotel complex to enjoy your stay. The hotel facilities and services information was not readily available in our room but could be found by making inquiries of the staff. Overall we enjoyed a very happy and relaxing 2 week holiday.
Great luxury hotel with private beaches and pools
Lovely autumn sun break at this fabulous hotel. Staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. We were lucky to be upgraded to a villa, so had our own garden and access to a private pool. Room could have done with a lick of paint, but very clean and comfortable. As we were full board, we ate at the hotel's buffet, which was varied and good quality with no limits on quantity - breakfast very good. Able to access restaurants at next door Elounda beach, so he good meal out there one evening and also at the excellent Ariadne restaurant in the hotel. Gym small, but well equipped.
25 weeding
Very good service.good location.nice stuff.need to improv the design of the room and add elxetery.add nice jkuzi in the good zone of the souna.very good beach with hot watter outside.very good value.
The photos on line, are not what you get, it said queen size bed in every room, I had 2 singles pushed together, very poor, also the toilet had a slated door, you could not help but hear ever noise your partner was making, very embarrassing, for both of us, has we have only been together for two months. Also your information says 30mins from airport, on transfer I sat on the bus for 45mins then two hours, to get to hotel,,, all the above spoiled the holiday for us. The food and resort was great
Great location and facilities, lovely staff
We stayed two nights at this lovely hotel. The surroundings are lovely - nice pools, private beaches with comfy sunchairs, and everything is so clean and well kept. No need to bring own beach towels as hotel provides those which is nice. Lots of different restaurants. As we stayed only two nights we only tried the evening buffet as it was included in our hotel rate. I am not a big fan of buffets but I have to say this was the best buffet I have tried - lots of options, both meat and vegetarian, fresh salads, lots of desserts. All really nice quality (did not taste like "mass produced" as some buffets). Breakfast was also nice and lots to choose from. Rooms are nice and comfortable - and spotlessly clean - but have some items (eg. paintings, telly) that make them look dated. Cleaners made sure throughout our stay that everything was good and even came to ask in the evening if we need more towels or extra cleaning - top service! Also the location is perfect if you wish to explore Elounda village as it is only about 10 minute walk away. However, what really makes this hotel is the staff - everyone from waiters to receptionists to pool staff and cleaners and porters were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful place to stay!
Elounda Bay palace - amazing vacation
Amazing hotel, worth the ride from the airport. Great service, with a smile, lovely food and very good restaurants. Definitely worth it.
All togather, an excelant hotel!
We arrived off season (second week of september) and we got upgraded to a better room than what we paid for. Overall an excelent location, staff and rooms. Breakfast is rich, dinner changes every night, kitchen staff are great. The eating area is mostly outside (and when i say mostly, i mean 99 of it) so if it's a hot seeson, get a fan or something to cool you down as there are no fans or ACs. But that is about everything bad i can say about our expirience. Tip 1: the smoking area is locates in a more ventilated area (no fans, just seems to be more windy). Tip 2: at dinner, you pay for drinks, so be ready to bring your own, or pay the price (not too much, but it is kind of annoying). Bottom line, I would go back to Bay Palace every year.
VERY GOOD AND COMFORTING HOTEL
THE TOTAL EXPERIANCE WAS VERY GOOD. THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND VARIFY. THE STUFF WERE VERY HELPFULL. THE HAIR DRYER IN THE ROOM IS GOOD ONLY FOR DRYING THE HAIR. NOT FOR GIRLS/WOMEN. THERE IS A PROBLEMS OF ANTS IN THE ROOM. THE HOTEL IS FAR FROM THE AIRPORT AND IT COST 100 EURO TO GET THERE. I BELIVE THAT THIS SERVICE THE HOTEL CAN PROVIDE ESPCIALY WHEN WE WERE A FAMILY AND WE NEEDED 2 TAXI GO AND BACK SO IT COST 400 EURO ONLY THE TRANSPORTATION. WE WERE UPGRADED TO A BUNGALO WITH A SHARING POOL AND IT WAE EXCELLENT.
Nice hotel
The main asset of the hotel is its staff, always happy to help and ready to fulfil guests' requests. Our stay was really great, the hotel has lot of restaurants and entertainment facilities ( nice gym, various lounges, sauna etc). It is also positioned very good so that you can visit the small villages around, Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, Spinalonga etc. , if you have a car.
Make sure to be accurate about # of people in the room
It's a beautiful hotel. I'd say it's more for family. We booked one room for 3 people (2 single be and one sofa bed) but when we got there the hotel made us pay extra 80 euro a night. They claimed that we made reservations for 2 not 3. (They charge per person not per room). That was very frustrating. However, we contacted Hotels.com and they refunded us the extra 80 euro a night we were charged.
paradise by the beach
This hotel resort can only be descibed in one word WOW..!!!! Excellent vacation and the hotel stay was amazing and the staff couldnt do enough to make you feel welcome and at home...My whole time was spent on the property as there was no reason to go antwhere else with all my needs met and exceeded..The one of many restaurants on the property were world class and had dinner at their restaurant called Thalassa and what views and food was amazing...Cannot recommend enough and my thanks to staff Nikos,Irini and Smaracka for their great service..definatley on my list to stay at again next year..Thank You
Perfect Getaway
This by far was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Elounda is a small bay with a lot of nice hotels in the area. Elounda Beach was so spectacular. Breakfast and Dinner were included. The quality of the food was great and the service spectacular. You have to pay for drinks and lunches. Gregory checked us in and looked after us very well helping us with a few last minute requests for our honeymoon. The grounds were very big and you could use both hotels that are linked together. Pools looked really nice but we were beach people. Great beach beds with cushions available for everyone. I would definitely come back to this place again. Thanks,
Lovely room only a stones throw from the beach
Hotel was lovely stunning surroundings and scenery! Drinks and food were a bit pricey but that comes with the territory you expect to pay a bit more while you in such a lovely place! Over all I was very impressed!!
Beach location, suitable for families
We reserved and paid for two "superior" rooms with sea view for 3 adults. First night, we were given a bungalow, with one king bed and a sofa bed. For the second and third nights, one of the rooms had no sea view. clearly the hotel did not honour the reservation agreement and we did not get what we paid for. Staff worked hard to convince us that the bungalow was an "upgrade", and would not accept that this is not what we wanted (and paid for), which was even more annoying. 'Superior " rooms looked old and tired. In one of the rooms, we found a huge cockroach in the bathroom. Seawater was not clean.
Very happy and relaxed
We had a fabulous time, the staff were so friendly and helpful. My wife had an injury to her foot and couldn't get to the restaurant from the room, originally they organised transport, the next day they moved us to a room that was a lot closer. Everywhere on the complex the staff always had a smile, the bar staff, water sports and restaurant staff. The food was very nice, unfortunately to nice.
Very luxurious hotel with private beach
We didn't actually stay at the Elounda Bay Palace; we arrived there on 4th May for 7 days only to be told that due to bad weather over the previous weeks, the planned maintenance had not been completed, so we were put up at the Elounda Beach next door - under same Management. [Expedia hadn't warned us of this until after we'd actually arrived; this despite other guests from UK telling us they'd been notified 7-10 days before departure] We were told we were being upgraded, but then after 4 days they moved us again, citing a problem with our air conditioning (which we hadn't noticed or complained about) so we went onto the top floor into a Suite (2 rooms, each 15 ft square). Even more comfortable. Would certainly come again
INCREDIBLE!!!!
I wish there were more than 5 stars to award this resort. They earned excellence in every category. If you are looking for a romantic getaway where you will be pampered, this will exceed your expectations. Lunch and drinks with your meal(s) add up quickly, but it is worth it. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay phenomenal.
Great hotel, great location
Great location and spacious grounds. Good choice of restaurants although some yet to open ( we were early in season )
Beautiful hotel by the beach
Staff are exceptional. For an inlusive hotel (half board dinner and breakfast) we were really impressed with the fact there was an ala carte menu and waiter service at dinner. The main hotel is lovely and in a beautiful position. The rooms were also nice but we had problems with the air con. Apparently all the rooms are set to the same level centrally, however ours didn't seem to cool! All in all though a very relaxing break, and the staff made it.
Early season stay in Crete
We were upgraded due to the resort only partially opening on our day of arrival. It is of a very high standard in all areas. We felt like we were on a dessert island. Half board buffet style breakfast and dinner was excellent.
