I had a fantastic stay at Eendracht Hotel. The staff was first class, friendly and helpful. I forgot my headphones in the room safe and they kept it for me to pick up on my way back to the airport.

Ideal stay

Probably the best hotel stay I've ever enjoyed. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The cooked-to-order breakfast was always perfect. The hotel itself is very comfortable with pleasant and tasteful decor. Close (but not too close) to central Stellenbosch and the University, we were able to walk to anything we were looking for.

Cheap and there is a reason why

We arrived quite early in the day to be met by quite rude and unhelpful staff. We were told our room was actually in the self catering house which was a few roads away, so we had to come back to the main place to check in and then drive to the other house. The room was small and basic, with mould in the bathroom. There is also a lack of sound proofing, as the rooms are basically bedrooms in a house and we were woken early by children running up and down the house hall. Wouldn't recommend.

Beautiful area

The hotel was very accommodating and the hosts were extremely helpful. Centrally located with comfortable large room. Only recommendation is to have more outlets for charging cell phones/tablets that fit international adaptors.

I loved the out of time decorations, the cheminée and the wonderful and healthy breakfast!

Overall a pleasant stay in this well positioned hotel. One complaint: to tell me the key to my safety drawer does not work, is not good enough. It should be fixed.

It's an architectural gem (and there are many) in the middle of Stellenbosch with a unique history written on the back of the breakfast menu. The breakfasts are first rate: tempting fruit and cereals, local cheeses, freshly baked muffins, splendid cold-cuts and a hot 'traditional' breakfast with eggs, bacon, mini-boerewors,grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, artisan bread.

I cannot say enough of this beautiful boutique hotel. I have stayed there quite a couple of times during this year. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly.

We had a delightful stay at the lovely Eendracht hotel. The staff were friendly and hospitable, the room clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the breakfast delicious and satisfying. The hotel is perfectly situated near the center of town with easy waking distance to restauarants and shops and a great base for wine touring in the area. Would absolutely stay here again on a future visit and strongly recommend others do the same!

Great hotel in Stellenbosch

This is a great hotel to use whilst in town. The management and staff are always able and willing to assist, whilst a relaxing stay can be expected.

Nice hotel and good location

Hotel is charming and room is very nice and quaint. However, breakfast is mediocre. Hotel lacks all personal touch and check in at night is not welcoming and back of hotel is very dark is your arrive late and for the first time.

Quaint and comfortable

We travelled to Stellenbosch for a friend's wedding in a local vineyard and wanted somewhere central so we could explore the town a little. This hotel was ideal, everything was right on our doorstep. We found a great bar (Craft) just around the corner that offers beer tastings and good food, lots of boutique stores and a fabulous wine bar that offers tastings of wine from the local vineyards. Reception at the hotel was very friendly, recommended a restaurant, and sorted an adaptor plug for us. The room was large and comfortable with decent toiletries and hairdryer. The in-room safe was old fashioned lock and key and not big enough for a laptop. The food at breakfast was good enough although I did notice a few flies on the muffins, so maybe they should be covered up. All in all, a good stay.

Historic hotel in center of town

This was our second stay at the Eendracht. Everything was perfect for us: convenient location in central Stellenbosch, comfortable rooms, very nice staff, and delicious breakfast.

Very Disappointed with Expedia

Showed up with a written Expedia Confirmation in-hand in a strange city and foreign country & was told that the hotel was full & they did not have a room for me and my wife because Expedia had inexplicably cancelled our reservation. Hotel provided written proof. If one can't rely on a written Expedia Confirmation, how can one do business with Expedia??? Very upsetting & disappointing. There are many options in booking hotels---why would a person use Expedia after this experience?

A lovely hotel in the historic style of this part of Cape Town. The room was very clean and great value for money. The bathroom was small but the shower was good. The breakfast was fantastic and the location could not have been better (the bars/restaurants were 1 minute walk away). The parking at the the rear of the hotel seemed secure, being off the road. The staff were professional and very friendly. Good advice was given on everything we asked. We would most definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

Wonderful stay

I have stayed at Eendrag on two separate occasions and both of my stays have been very good. the rooms are big and clean and the staff friendly. The hotel is within easy walking distance of many restaurants and shops and sightseeing in the town.

Great hotel in great location

We stayed for a couple of nights in January 2016. The hotel is located in the heart of the town but on a quiet street. It is a lovely, friendly hotel with cute rooms, verandas, a small garden and various quiet spaces to relax. The bathroom was stunning with a great shower. The only negative was the plunge pool which was really dirty and full of leaves - a shame because the temperature was really hot and it would have great to cool off in the pool.

Our second stay here. Hotel is a gem, beautiful facility, friendly staff, great location. We had a nice family room with a view of the pool and tree lined street. Very quiet and peaceful. Would stay here again.

Charming classic B & B

Great location and well-run. Rooms are a bit small (typical of old hotels), but efficiently laid-out and very nicely updated. Sound insulation is so-so, and a group of loud Texans across the hall sounded like they were in our room. I blame the idiotic Texans more than the hotel though...boorish as always...

A lovely surprise

It was a great getaway. While the outside of the hotel tends to give misguided impression of what to expect from the rooms, the rooms are indeed excellent and comfortable. Great hospitality from the staff and the personalised thank you at the end of my stay was a great touch

So easy to walk right into town with all the lovely shops and restaurants. The hotel is well run and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. I guess there are larger hotels with larger facilities but the Eendract is great value for money.

Stellenbosch - in town rather than a vineyard

Hotel was excellent - we wanted to stay in Stellenbosch itself rather than in one of the many vineyards. Accommodation is very good for a 3* and can't fault location, as it's a 2 minute walk into the main town thoroughfare. Very enjoyable!

Felt like a B&B, although nicer than many. Fabulous location, near restaurants, shops, and attractive neighborhoods. The staff was outstanding; they are really efficient. Got a booking for us into a first-class restaurant that supposedly had no availability, when I called.

I stayed in the Eendracht hotel for a week during a recent visit to the university. Basically, everything in the hotel was excellent: the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable (with air conditioning), and breakfast arrangements were fine. The hotel is a few minutes walking away from the touristy parts of town. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful--when I was not feeling well one evening and didn't feel like going out for dinner, the hotel staff prepared a light meal. On the whole, I'm very positive and would definitely stay here again.

A gem

Truly great staff: professional, warm, and helpful. The place is Dutch Cape beautiful and makes you feel right at home. Perfect location in downtown Stellenbosch, yet a 100m or so from the noisier parts. Will stay again.
