The room, unfortunately, got downgraded from what I've booked a week before my stay. Was promised to refund but haven't done it yet

Spacious room but not so clean, old equipment. Breakfast was good with variety of food. But overall just average hotel, I won’t come back again.

Its a resort but not quite, over priced food. Hard to get to city from the resort and room had no hot water and not very clean. Needs a major upgrade

A run down place.

1 night at Duyong Marina Resort

We stayed for a night at the Chalet Serambi. Externally the facilities looks okay but inside were terrible. Our room was poorly maintained, aircond unit was noisy, the bedsheet was not clean, iron is broken, in summary the facilities need to be upgraded and refurbished. Not worth of 5 star hotel.

The interior is not well maintained. Furniture is OLD. Lighting is soo good...

We stayed 2 nights at the resort, it was low season so not many other guests for a rather large looking resort. The hotel staff were friendly but many didn’t speak English and not accustomed to servicing international travellers. The room was ok but bathroom was really rundown and not very clean. The overall resort is old and could use a refresh.

Generally good but not really satisfy with the condition of the bath room.look old and rusty at certain part of the sink.

Good place. Nice environment. Great food. Room is great but need to check on certain equipment which is quite old and not function.

Can get lost at night..

The room is spacious. But during hot day, it will take some times for the air conditioning to cool the entire room.

WORST HOTEL EVER. THE ROOM IS SUPER DUSTY. DO NOT TRUST THE PICTURE. THEY EVEN HAVE FINGERPRINTS ON THE SLIDING DOOR. THE SWITCH IS BROKEN. THE AIRCOND TOOK SO LONG TO COOL. THE ROOM SERVICE FOOD IS ALSO TERRIBLE. NOT SATISFY FROM THE BEGINNING. WE ARRIVED 1 HOUR EARLY (2PM), THEY SAID THE HOTEL IS FULL. NEED TO WAIT 3PM. NO EARLY CHECK IN ALLOWED. SHARP 3 PM I WAITED AT THE RECEPTION, AND SAW THEY KEY IS ALREADY THERE (PERHAPS ALREADY THERE 15 MINS EARLIER) BUT NO ONE CARE TO CALL ME. THE HOTEL IS OLD AND NEED TO BE RESTORE. 100% NOT SAME AS PER PICTURE. PICTURE DO LIE! ANGRY & UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER OVER HERE. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR COME BACK! WORSE!

The toilet was terribly dirty

My room 2801..need to do something with clogged pipe in shower.. The rest, perfect.. I like nasi dagang terengganu the best

The room conditions were not clean including the surroundings. The wood bees and mosquitoes became the unwanted visitors of the room. The food was terrible. It is definitely not a 3 stars.

Cleanliness of surrounding areas and chalets is not well kept chalets are poorly maintained and appearance not well look after.

The property was well laid out with big rooms and parking. However the rooms were dirty, had cockroaches, mildew, rotting wood panels, dust ... it was simply terrible for a 3 or 4 star rating. We had to change rooms once, air con didnt work and the next room’s aircon gave up the next day. Its a crying shame as the place was well appointed but i suspect standard maintenance and operating procedures has gone to pots. Not recommended absolutely.

We have been here before 17th March 2018 and book the same type of room. 1/. However, this visit, surprisingly we didn’t get the same type of room. Previous is bigger and now smaller. 2/. Checked with frontdesk, our previous room has been downgraded without actually notified us. Frontdesk told us, our current room is a bit expensive due to the view. 3/. We requested for the same room and been told all booked. 4/. Called Frontdesk requesting for Duty Manager that nite, 27th Dec 2018 and not available. Called again and surprisingly he is not aware about the issue. 5/. I’ve told him the issue and since the whole rooms have been booked, i’m requesting for free breakfast for 2 but denied. 6/. Instead he offer me a free dinner only for 1. There are 4 of us. Doesn’t make any senses 7/. Later he called me back, and been told, previously is not downgraded but the room has been upgraded. 8/. I’ve told him, can you pls upgraded our room if you have available room and i’ll pay the differences 9/. Yes, there are available room and he can’t upgrade our room because of can’t cancel the current booking and i need to make a new booking. Sigh

Nice chalet & view but the only thing that dissapointing is our hot water not functioning.

There are few lamps are not functioning, Sliding door arent smooth, ive struggled to open n closed it. Toilet bowl cover arent clean. N I would like to request a tax invoice.

Pleasant view. Calming place

Checked in at 10. Greeted well. Sent to room by buggy (3 minutes ride). Room 703 (upstairs). Kingsize bed, 2 single sofa, 2 sinks, shower and bathtub, a fridge, flat TV, aircond, iron and board, new sejadah and kiblat arrow and a very nice verandah. But bathtub has no plunger (hence cant use, already requested but not delivered) and fridge not working, aircond working but kinda old. Room was great and spacious, but yes has lots of "debu" at head of bed and mould in the shower area. But otherwise it was okey. Good cold and warm shower. Bed was comfy. TV has common national channel but very clear. Has a big playground and pool (5feet and children) and gym. View was superb. Breakfast was okey, but filling and delish enough for me and my family. Overall very good stay but it could do with continuous maintenance. Place looks a bit rundown with poor maintenance.

I enjoyed the quietness, the cleanliness and spacious room. Room was very well traditionally decorated.I would be more than happy to stay here again in the near future.

Overall it was good. has a beautiful view, close to the city center but the toilet cleanliness is not satisfactory.

Horrible Hotel and Never Never try it

The Picture is Super much difference from the picture. the hotel is really old, full with dust, spider webs, bath tub is yellow in color and toilet is Dirt too, lots of mosquitos and lizards, Aircon is super old&noise plus dripping of water. I have booked 6 rooms for 2 nights, all the 6 rooms are the same. After i checked in, and i have check out immediately, so you can imaging how worst it is. i cant get back any refund and end up i have to spend more and book another hotel for 6 rooms.

Nice view

i've stay at this hotel on 5 -6 August 2018. The check in very fast, the shuttle bus is ok provide u made early arrangement with the resort and breakfast is ok. But in term of room cleanliness, it is just so-so. the bath tub is dirty, sink is also not very clean and the aircond is not function well. But overall stay is ok.

the place is a bit run down, need maintenance and proper professional to run the place. breakfast selection and coffee selection need to be improve.room lights and shower head to look into.bath tub is dark and dirty.very dusty room .the av system is there but we need to bring own cd.....what the point in having a good sound system but cannot play.

toilet flush is stuck, call several times but they just pump using sink pump. tv just 1 channel ok. mini bar fridge is broken. dont expect wifi since they not provide. but others is ok. privacy sorrounding, room is spacious.

Comfortable and with nice view. Not far from town and airport. Maintenance of some of the facilities could be improved.

Dusty, dirty and completely abandoned. Almost no staff. No fridge and no safety box in the room. A big waste of money.

The marina is so beautiful but room was different from what have been displayed on the advertisement websites. To add, I got a room with poor maintenance; the air-conditioner was terrible, TV with no signals and the bed was so uncomfortable. Not really worth my stay.

The room facilities do not clean, dusk everywhere, dirty toilet and not function well.

A mistake stay

Checked in 2 April 2018. Nobody at the lobby to greet guests and help unload luggage. During check in, I noticed there were ants on the welcome drink table and informed the receptionist and her reply was "it is not in the tea jug, right?". When I looked around and saw the wood panels falling off, I knew this was not going to be a pleasant stay. Our room was a wooden chalet. Wood is nice as it gives that resort feeling. Spacious but smell stuffy. Several main light bulbs were dead. The bathtub is full of dead bugs and insect dungs. Water stains adorn the walls. Obviously the room had not been used for some time. Took my daughter to the pool. The water looked a bit cloudy and she refused to swim. So we ended up walking around the empty resort complex. Only a few units occupied. Bumped into a European lady with her 2 kids - she gave me a baffaled look. I am sorry for you too lady. When I told my friend, a long time resident of Kuala Terenggau, of my stay at DMR he just laughed. My wife and I are very dissappointed. Definitely not worth the RM399 we paid for. The place should be nice, just need a bit more care.

Overall review

The hotel view, interior and facilities are good. But during our stay in mid march the weather was too hot the seaview room was too hot during the day. The garden view rooms have mosquitoes problem, they need to do something about that.

Hotel beautiful and nice to stay next time. Only locations far from town. Food need improvement and more variety. overall is good for stay here.

Never fail to satisfy

Nice chalet-type room though the furniture and furnishings are already dated. Pity the high-end Bose hifi is no longer functional

not worth it for expensive place

the place can be great..we arrived about 1+plus pm they told us to come back by 3pm it was quiet place but the chalet is not maintained well..we booked 2 nights but we have to moved our from the place next day and find other hotel as the place is flooded with water drops from the aircon our food wasted as the fridge is not working, we are lossing 1 night stay and spoiling our holiday

Hotel is basic, but need A LOT of maintenance (example: painting,cushions on seats from rest, bedroom and pool) NO service at pool at all! took a while to get some towels. Cleanliness HAS to improve (bathroom, room, bed linen, etc) Restaurante very basic and only one option. Overall not value for money

Great for total relaxation retreat

Very quiet and peacefull. Rooms are large, very cosy, nice decor with big verandah. Good resort for weekend getaway

Don't spoil your mood upon stay...Just avoid

Well, i booked this property because of its pics on Hotels.com, but dear friends please do not go for this resort. The condition is ok only, once you check in then all the issues will start, air cond not cooling, mosquitoes, lizards, ants and so on. The worst part was when they cut the water supply at night around 11.00 pm without prior intimation and when asked said its maintenance work going on and will be no water until 3.00 am. So you cannot use basin, toilet and so on, Imagine how?. Location is only ok because of the sea backwater there and nearby there is nothing. You will be served with limited items of breakfast with no quality. WiFi service is very poor with low speed. I will recommend not to go for this property unless you want to spoil your mood.

Quiet and relaxing stay for health tourism

This was a return stay for 2 nights. My wife, son and I had what we wanted a quiet rest and relaxing stay as my wife was just recovering from knee joint arthritis treatment. The buggy service was excellent and prompt each time we called for their service to commute around the resort. The breakfast selection was tasteful, a mixed of local and continental breakfast. Then the resort location was central and easy access to main roads where we visited nearby the city.

Disappointing

Unfortunately during our stay the pool area was still under construction and unable to be used. The gondola that usually transported guests from the resort to town was also not operating. While these issues were unfortunate, and most likely associated with the time of year of our stay, the most disappointing aspect to our stay was the appalling service in the restaurant. The cumulation of these issues meant that we reduced our stay from 5 to 2 nights.

Overall is good but swimming pool is on renovation. So nothing much to do. Cannot access to the beach. Only viewing. Room stated beach view but is not really good

Need improvement for its Hardware

Poor experience. The rooms is not in good condition. Construction site is just next to my room and they work until 19:30, very noisy. Lots of mosquitoes around and even inside the room as there are a huge gap in the bottom of the room door. Electrical black out twice during my stay. Swimming pool is under maintenance. Jacuzzi in the hotel is really horrible. The water is yellow and looks like mud water. It is not worth to for its price. Suggest you to find another hotel in the downtown.
