Fabulous modern apartment behind an old fashioned tiny door leading into a beautiful courtyard. Smart technology meant no key needed and amazing air con on hot days. Very well located within walking distance of the cathedral and great places to stop for a coffee and food. Communication was friendly and efficient and check in quick. The bed is really comfy. We will definitely stay again and happy to recommend

The check in was in a different location than what the hotel address listed. Yes it’s on the same street a bit further down but very confusing. They were communicating with us about when we will check in etc but never did they mention that the check in is in a different location. We were not the only ones confused. Otherwise the stay was good

The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful. Check out was at 11am but someone knocked on it ur door at 9:30 asking about check out. I was trying to get dressed but my boyfriend was still sleeping. This was quite rude in my opinion. Also the cleaning people were very loud and rude. My boyfriend wasn’t feeling well so we wanted to be able too sleep a little longer instead the cleaning person gave him an attitude about sleeping that late. We are on vacation so what time we wake up is not anyone’s business nor should it be an issue for staff. Great area but you need to walk to Duomo. Not too much in the immediate area. Recommend to not knock on doors before check out time. Seems like the only concern is flipping the room to make more money.

We enjoyed our one night stay. The property is lovely. It was easy to check-in across the street. We were walked across the street and shown how to unlock the doors. The duplex was spacious with a separate loft upstairs and kitchen with a table. We appreciate the AC on this hot July day.

The Duomo Smart Suites was a nice place for a family, with a separate private loft for the kids, it had a semi equipped kitchen with refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, a table with 3 chairs. In the room apart from the bed was a sofa, TV. After checkout, we were able to store our luggages for few hours in the office until it was time for us to depart. The bad thing about the place was the bathroom floor was very very dirty and very grimey and it needs major scrubbing.

⸻ My experience started with the check-in process, which was less than ideal. I maintained ongoing communication with the hotel regarding my flight details, including a delay. As soon as I got into the Uber from the airport, I informed the hotel of my updated arrival time—8:39 PM. At exactly 8:57 PM, I sent another message to let them know I had arrived. By 8:59 PM, I was at the hotel door. Upon entering, a staff member asked me to follow him upstairs for check-in. After taking a seat, he logged into his laptop, asked for our passports, and then informed me there would be a $20 late check-in fee. I was surprised, as I had clearly arrived at 8:59 PM. All of this is documented via our WhatsApp messages and should also be visible on the hotel’s security cameras. Despite my timely arrival and continuous updates, I was still charged the fee. As for the property itself—it was okay. However, the bathroom had a very strong, unpleasant odor, and we were not provided with basic toiletries like shampoo or conditioner

The only issue was after two showers the water went cold. There were 4 of us so…….. but everything else was great and the staff was very helpful.

Overall experience was great from checkin to a freak accident that occurred. Staff was responsive and helpful. Beds were comfy and location was reasonable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Great communication as power cut on the first night and the rooms was lovely but only thing is shutters wouldn’t close completely on one window so let light in. Great location near to a metro station, the courtyard area was lovely but felt quite noisy as was near to apartments

Disappointing handling of an old reservation

I had an old reservation with a specific room type confirmed well in advance. Upon arrival, I was told that the room was no longer available at that rate because Expedia hadn’t updated the pricing or room details. The only option offered to me was to decline the reservation—no alternatives, no real solution and got a smaller room. This showed a lack of responsibility from both the hotel and the booking platform. If you accept early bookings, you should honor what was confirmed or offer an equivalent option. This situation negatively impacted my trip and it wasn’t a nice surpise when you have everything planed in a busy week in Milan. Otherwise, the location is good, nice and clean.

Very clean room, great interior design with marble steps. Very spacious and quiet. Water pressure was amazing in the shower.

Great location not too far off from the main centre in Milan. Good transport links as a result. The room looked in good condition. All the usual modcons like aircon and heating. The floor seemed like it was underfloor heating too. Overall, a good solid stay that my only negative was the pillows meaning sleeping wasn’t as comfortable.

This property was located walking distance (10 mins) to the Duomo square. It is along a side road opposite a supermarket and a cafe, so easy to get snacks and morning breakfast. When we arrived rang the door bell which opened in a court. Didn't appear to be a formal Reception area. An email was sent about completing ur details. Then a person was waiting in the courtyard, showed you how to open the doors. As it's a private residential block those with suitcases were asked to carry them across so there was no noise. Got to room, it was nice, basic, bed was comfortable, high ceilings.It's not sound proof. Recommend for a short stay, as you should be out sightseeing.

Very central location . Great choice of restaurants & bars. Suggest avoiding ground floor as rather dark. Room had poor lighting, no reading in bed! No shelves, just a high clothes rail. Amused by the wooden sticks instead of teaspoons.

First, the hotel isn't anything like the picture advertised. On the first night we lost power.The room was also freezing and the contact for our suite didn't reply until later the next day. we also were close to entrace and could hear people coming and leaving

Ran out of toilet paper; called manager and he didn't care; said would bring more tomorrow; no front desk at property; TV is a joke, about 17" and on side table so tough to watch while in bed; they don't clean room each day; no bolt or chain lock for door; can't roll suitcase, must carry over the grounds; door to courtyard is 5" tall, so easy to hit head; no cooling unit or thermostat in room so cannot control the temperature; no nite table on one side of bed; shower drains slow; no shelves in shower to put bottles/soap on; manager didn't reply to my emails

While we loved the location and the furnishings inside the unit were nice, we found several issues during our short stay. Our primary issue was the AC that was not working, which left the entire unit feeling warm and damp. We attempted to open a window to cool down the unit but due to its location on the ground floor, we quickly closed them due to the bugs. It should also be noted that only the bedroom has a high window, which does leave the other rooms to be fairly dark without natural light. Lastly, we found the several messages and phone calls before our stay to be a bit too much. We had similar check ins at other cities, without having to be contacted numerous times. We appreciate that the staff wants to have specific check in times and make sure there are no issues, but there are more professional and passive ways to remain in contact.

I was impressed with our room! It’s at least 18 foot ceiling if not higher reminiscent of castles hundreds of years ago! Of course it’s renovated with wood floors, white paint. The fixtures and very tall windows appear of the same era. Very pleasant. We had the room with a king size bed and a queen size bed on the mezzanine floor. There is a kitchenette. The shower cubicle did have black deposits at the upper walls and leaking. It’s 3 big steps on marble stairs to get up to the bathroom- no railing to hold on to going down. The Duomo is about 10 minutes walk, grocery is down the street. After the shower gets repaired I would give this 5 stars! You do have to be quiet as this is a residential area, you will have to carry your suitcase across the courtyard. The air conditioner works great

The property is very clean and the rooms are very spacious. The only issue we had was that we were asked to pay 20 Euros on arrival, since we checked in late (after 9.00 PM). This was not indicated anywhere on their website. And since we had a long day and journey, we were in no mood to argue and just paid the 20 Euros. Please read the terms and conditions on Duomo Smart Suites website.

Good location. Nice property. Good sized room/ bathroom- loved the shower!! If you love to walk - plenty to see. Friendly and helpful host met us on arrival. We got let down return taxi to train station as it was raining! Taxi a no show!! No other taxi in sight- had to run in the rain with luggage to cathedral to find one!! Otherwise happy with our stay. Enjoyed the city. 3 night stay. Would recommend.

A beautiful property in walking distance from the Duomo with plenty of dining options within 5 minutes and a supermarket across the street. Lovely room, friendly welcome and off a main road so pretty quiet. We stayed here because we really enjoyed reading the reviews and replies but are so glad we srayed for our Milan trip. Thank you.

A great location to access all you would want to visit in Milano! Staff was attentive and always Available. Parking was a bit of a walk - but most wouldn’t need a car anyway! Amenities were awesome in our room. Even a clothes steamer too. Wonderful stay. Would stay again.

Very close to the center so can walk no longer than 10 minutes. Very quiet and safe location for young families. Room had good facilities.

We got to suites late, and paid 20 euros for someone to let us in. The room was a good size and clean, but the air conditioning did not work, the safe would not open, the toilet seat was loose and there were very few hangers for our clothes. We called for help with the a/c but no response. It had been 92* outside so without it, sleeping was almost impossible. Supermarket was close by as was the metro but without a check in desk, no way to ask questions or arrange a taxi. We stayed 2 nights but no one came to clean the room or bring fresh towels. All in all very disappointed.

Good location. Clean. Near several coffee shops and a supermarket. AC in room did not cool it down. They said it had just been fixed. In room safe did not work. Sump pump allowed shower water to drain onto the bathroom floor. One night was quiet. The second was very noisy even though there are signs all over the grounds reminding people to observe quiet.

Would not recommend

We stayed in a Deluxe apartment at Duomo Smart Suites. The location of this accommodation was the best thing about it. The rooms are tired, damaged and not very clean. The shower was filthy, bed sheets had holes in them. We were only provided a single top sheet as bedding and a single pillow each. The cleaning products or air fresheners used here were also very over powering - not good if you get headaches from strong artificial smells. Overall very basic and I wouldn’t recommend. We did consider looking for another place to stay but as we were only staying for 2 nights it wasnt bad enough to warrant the hassle of moving.

The place is clean and convenience. It's about 10 minutes walk to Duomo di Milano. And it's close to subway station as well.

Pass on this - not worth the hassle

Owner was incredibly rude and check in was unnecessarily complicated and difficult. Luggage cannot be carried over the cobblestones. Owner barged into our room, no introduction, began aggressively yelling loudly asking how many people we were and how many rooms we had. Then began getting into a loud aggressive argument gesturing wildly. We felt unsafe. Alternatively, he should have said hello and introduced himself and then inquired about any questions he may have.

Hotel is made in residence apartment, there is no professional staffs or something, you have to carry your languages on hand cant drag on wheels because residents may not like that noise, no body is there for any assistance, i had run here and there for taxi on streets, however price is high just like other professional hotels. not recommending.

Room was not clean, bathroom was dirty, was told we couldn’t make noise due to residents but was Woken up every morning by noisy residents. Staff was not friendly just kept talking about money. Said we didn’t pay when we had receipts to show we paid. Very inconvenient- out of the way from the main area. Would not recommend would not go back.

The property need maintenance.

If felt safe & secure. It seemed a little more challenging to connect with a person to get the information to get into the property, but we finally got through. There were many restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

Warning. If you don't like completing all your passport information for you and other people online and paying for the place online, all before you show up, please do not stay here. I travel around the world and never have had to type in my passport info online. Place did not have internet working. Called Hans ( 39 388 727 67 58 a supposed Caretaker) several times. 1st call he picked up and said he would look into the Internet issue and would call me back. Never called back and did not answer his cell phone again. Called Antonio ( 39 333 912 05 74, a supposed Co-Host) who did not pick up, but sent me an email that the office was closed for the day. They have all kinds of rules like not pulling your bags in the courtyard and keeping quite in the area. Before you consider staying here you should call Antonio and Hans to make sure you have a better experience then we did during this stay. Luckily, we only stayed for one night. Stay in a hotel where you can get some consideration for any issues you may have.

Good location, close to the train station, and a close walk to the Duomo Cathedral. It’s also close to good restaurants and a small Grocery store is also nearby. Location is very nice. Room is a good size, staff was friendly. The only thing is that near the entrance, they tell you to carry your luggage as the cobblestones would ruin your luggage, and to prevent disturbing others, so something to keep in mind, especially if you have a lot of luggage. They also process payment through tap, and usually my bank would only allow tap transactions around $200 per day, but they also had an option to pay online, which I did. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely come stay here again when we go to Milan.

Good property but had the following issues that made my overall experience pretty below average. 1) There were mosquitoes in the room and even after requesting (and getting confirmation from the staff member who checked us in), he did not drop the mosquito repellent until I had to remind at 10 pm again. 2) The bathroom had no body lotion 3) The bathroom sink was clogged 4) There was a comforter in the room but no sheets to use in case of warm weather.

Imited hot water, no tv remote and nobody is on duty to come to the room in the evening if you have an issue.

Clean and quiet, good location.

Our plans changed and we needed to find a hotel in Milan on one night's notice. We were very fortunate to find Duomo Smart Suites. The host Hans was incredibly helpful. He went out of his way to ensure our pleasant stay and recommended a place for us to eat dinner and get breakfast in the morning. He ordered taxis for us. He was super helpful! The space was larger than we have experienced in Europe. The bed was very comfortable. Our only disappointment was that the photo of the site showed a beautiful courtyard, but, due to agreement with property owners we were unable to sit and enjoy the space. We specifically chose the site because of the courtyard. However, for a one night stay, it was a wonderful place.

Location was great. Hans was friendly and helpful. The main room was clean, welcoming and comfortable. The toilet seat was horrible!! Poorly attached and wobbly. No hand soap in the dispenser. And moldy black crud in the front corner of the shower

Very quiet, spacious rooms with a soothing rainfall shower in the bathroom. Very secure building. Staff friendly and helpful. We were able to drop our luggage off prior to check-in, which saved lugging it around Milan. Within a short walk to the Duomo and the Metro system. Highly recommend this property

I booked this property expecting (as advertised) 2BR/2BA Suite. In a hotel like facility. What we were given was a partially upgraded (bath) old set of odd rooms in some sort of broken up apartment building. You entered into a bedroom which you had to walk through to get to a room that barely fit the second bed. There was no sitting area in this odd space. Peeling paint, broken window sashes, broken toilet seat plus no outdoor space. absolutely no talking or noise allowed in the courtyard shown in photos. Decent location. But I do not recommend this place.

Location was good and check in and out was very easy. The staff was responsive and friendly. Since the location also houses residence there, it was very quiet and nice. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Duomo Smart Suites. Hans was the ultimate host and extremely helpful. He stored our bags when we arrived before checkin, took time to ensure we had the proper codes to access our room, answered all our questions patiently and made sure our stay was comfortable. The room exceeded our expectations. The bathroom was spacious, with a huge sink, rainfall shower and excellent water pressure. Water and coffee were included in the price we paid. The room offered a separate sitting area and two closets, and the entire space was very clean. This hotel is tucked away down a side street so very quiet. It does share a courtyard with home owners, so noise in the courtyard is prohibited, which we appreciated. The Duomo and Galleria were a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, along with access to public transportation, pharmacy and a Carrefour right down the street. Great experience all around.

A large wooden door opens up to two courtyards with wisteria… beautiful setting. Generally quiet, although some apartment owners were noisy in the evening. No one had picked up my emails regarding needing hypo-allergenic bedding, but the team quickly replaced the pillows and duvet. Bathroom tap didn’t have particularly good pressure but the shower was great. Lovely place to stay.

We had just traveled for 15 hours to get here and arrived before check-in but they were able to hold our luggage and use a bathroom. Our room was very private. More like an apartment on the ground floor of a very quiet courtyard. We slept great!! Were able to walk over to il Duomo easily. It was very modern and clean.

Nice and Quite

Loved this place. The best thing about it is the location, super close to the Duomo and walkable to most of the city center. About the hotel, clean and nice bathroom. It is a quiet hotel so you need to be quite in courtyard and in the hotel itself. It is just a small part of a residential building. So some people might not enjoy that. Personally I didn't mind.

The property is conveniently located within 10 minutes walk to the Duomo, many stores and restaurants. There are metro, tram and bus stops within less than 5 minutes walk. The property manager Hans was easily accessible, very responsive to requests and willing to help. My family and I will definitely come back to Duomo Smart Suites next time we visit Milan.
