The resort is good but I expected more.

This property was beautiful, very clean, safe, and all the staff was awesome. The premier club was well worth the upgrade. It was like our own private location to hang out with the group we traveled with. The club had food and top shelf alcohol available. Several pools and bars to visits. I would definitely return to this property and country if I was solely thinking of the resort and beautiful weather. I must advise you to be prepared for long lines at customs. We waited 2.5 hours in the heat and the people the previous day had a 4 hour wait.

Property is a laid back resort. Need more activities and better food.

The staff was friendly & attentive. However, the hotel's musical amenities only caters to the Spanish culture and no ther culture. People of other cultures were observed sitting around and not able enjoying the musical amenities due to a language barrier.

The buffet staff is not the best. From the greeters, food and service it almost made for a poor experience. Otherwise, all other staff members are great, the hotel is clean and the pool area is always fun.

This property is huge. I love that they have a seafood restaurant (Oceana) near the beach. It’s beautiful in the evening. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Didn’t get to enjoy the spa services because of the pricing. A couple’s massage was $500USD. Aside from that, the pool was clean and cool (not cold at all). The beach was just ok. They do however have plenty of chairs, cabanas and even swings at the beach. Also, the bar service and good options were amazing. I highly recommend staying here. It is about a 30min drive from old city but nothing a taxi can’t fix. I would definitely stay here again.

The worst resort I have been to. The only restaurants that had quality food was Portofino. All other ones were mediocre with poor service. There was a day it took an hour for our food to come (including the appetizers). The drinks would also take forever to come. Oceans would be the one to take awhile and at times served dishes without all listed parts of the menu. Also, a lot of the tables there are not balanced. Breakfast was terrible. There was a morning we had to fight to keep our table cause someone was trying to take it and server took awhile to get our coffee and other drinks and omelet. It needs more variety and it would be better for customers to order omelet on their own or increase number of staff during busy hours. It's a small resort. You have to take shuttle to get to the beach and Oceana restaurant. They said shuttle would be quick but there were times we waited for awhile for one to come. The beach is small and super murky. It was like New Jersey beaches, not at all what I would anticipate from Colombia given its beautiful beaches else where (Isla grande and baru). However, it was calm and I still enjoyed it. Staff is not friendly, and don't greet guests even with a simple good morning. There were very little activities at the resort compared to other ones we have been at, and often it seemed that they would only do the activities upon a members request. Those leading the activities did not seem very enthusiastic. There was flooding in our room as well.

My stay exceeded my expectations, they have Excellent customer service, from the arrival at check in, the boy greeted us with some hand towels and then took the suitcases, super attentive, Carlos at check in made us feel super special, Yeimi who accompanied us to get ready comfortable until it arrives until they gave us the room, all the waiters and waitresses, the bartenders and those who bring you the drinks, excellent service, the room service guy was super friendly, very grateful for the service of Ronald who was our waiter at our special birthday dinner in Portofino, Antonio the manager Very attentive, Mike in animation, Ivan Torres manager always very attentive and attentive to clients... and many more that I don't remember their names made our stay wonderful.. Good food and drink like the installation.. recommended and I know I will return..10/10

This property is incredibly stunning. My husband and I had an amazing time celebrating his birthday. The food from all three restaurants and the buffet was excellent. I appreciate that this resort is conveniently located not too far from Wall City. However, it definitely needs a nightclub, as the entertainment options are lacking. Overall, we had a fantastic stay, but adding nightlife would elevate the experience.

I really enjoyed my stay at Dreams Karibana, the staff always made us feel welcome and were always kind and attentive. The food was also really good at all of the restaurants. I would totally recommend.

Best avoided

We previously stayed in a Preferred Suite in February. I'm not sure if there has been a change in general management or catering management, but the two visits provided totally different experiences. The room is advertised as having a "Kitchenette". It doesn't. It has a Nespresso coffee machine. The room is also advertised as having an "upgraded minibar". On speaking with staff here, the upgrade is a packet of M and M's, a half bottle of cheap rum and some Pringles. Except the Pringles are apparently rationed and they have run out of their allocation today, so there are none! We did get them on the first day, so that was good! The biggest, but by far not the only concern, is the quality of the food, which we would describe as awful. This ranges from room service, pool service, the buffet and at Portofino. The poolside food was particularly bad, chicken that had clearly seen the frier several times and a veggie burger that bore no resemblance to any veggie burger, ever! Housekeeping is hit and miss, not always provided unless a call to reception is made which is usually followed by a two hour wait. The last time we were here, Portofino was our go to restaurant, this time the food is average at best and inedible at worst. The Preferred Lounge is worth highlighting as being something it's not! Previously, there was a decent selection of finger food and snacks, enough to make it worth the trip. This time, there was a plate or two of nts and some pastries.

From time there to the time we left it wasn’t as described we arranged for pick up at airport nobody showed up and lied about it and the staff there wasn’t helpful at all and they played me I paid for a ocean front Junior suite room they gave me a view and said we can change u to another room went to the other room and it was a oven front but not a junior suite so you still charging me for both ocean front and junior suite. They didn’t care they didint budge horrible experience.

Only bad thing I have to say about the property is that you can smell mildew in the hallway, the hallway walking to the rooms my sheets in my room smelt like mildew as well.

The resort is a beautiful destination, featuring a stunning golf course and direct access to the beach. They offered nightly entertainment in the lobby, and the all-inclusive package was convenient and enjoyable. While the food was decent, there is room for improvement in this area. However, the staff was exceptionally friendly and provided outstanding service throughout our stay. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Colombia.

The property is okay. It is a bit of a drive from the airport and there is no available transportation. I was able to get a van for my large party. There was also an issue where I was quoted a particular price to pay at property through expedia but they charged me twice as much on the property with no accommodation despite evidence via chat. The food lacked A LOT. Either things were plain, salads were warm, or it was simply not good. There lacked a variety of options for food as well, which was unfortunate. The pool area servers and service was what we enjoyed the most. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the fast food at the pool was probably the best option. Several of my party members ended up with diarrhea from the food here. The only other thing I enjoyed was the room service. It was speedy, edible, and comes with the stay. The entertainment is practically non-existent during the day. The dance show is okay, the silent party at night was for sure cool. The biggest no no for me during this trip was the lack of AC in the resort. It is simply too hot during this time of the year and there are not enough fans and no AC in the elevators. The rooms are lukewarm on a good day, and the space really could use additional fans in strategic areas because relying on the breeze to cool patrons is not sufficient. All in all, if the food were better and we weren't sweating, it would have been much more enjoyable.

This property would’ve been 10/10 if the restaurants on the resort were good. The only good spot that had food was the buffet and they weren’t even open every night. The breakfast wasn’t all that up to par. But the entertainment??? THERE WAS NONE this resort is so beautiful and they had no entertainment by the pool, no energy at all and the dj played the same songs. I really wish the food and entertainment was better. If you want great entertainment please go off the resort ! My stay was an overall 7.5/10 because of the lack of entertainment and lack of food choices.

The property had great ambiance and not too busy. The views from our balcony was quit pleasing. There was a variety of fruits at the breakfast buffet. The room was grand and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The beach was excellent! We would definitely return!

This was a nice resort. Clean properly with pleasant staff. The dining options and menus were limited base on my expectations, additionally the beach was some distance away although transportation is provided to and from throughout the day. I did not like the amenities at the beach as they were mostly fo members who own properties in the area so i did not feel like a preferred guest.

This property should’ve included golfing in your stay. It also had power outages a few times during the day on several days. They can have more activities on property and even a tour guide for the area on property. Pool on beach was amazing pool on property needs to be cleaned daily. The halls smelled of mildew. 3/10 on all inclusive properties I’ve been to. Can’t go on private beach at night. The only thing i love was the Cartagena breakfast and off the resort very fun

Wonderfull resort in cartagena! Rooms were spacious and very clean. Was there for four nights. Nothing but high praise for the staff and the preffered staff(which i would highly reccomend you upgrade too) and great excursion option. I would also reccomend doing the cartagena private city tour option. Will defenitely be back!

The cleaning crew went through my bags and my sisters bags. I was in room 631 she was in 632. The cleaning crew Broke my luggage zipper, used my restoom and did not flush the feces 😞 other than that everything else was fine.

Not only did I expect bed bugs, the food was always cold, no night life & are unable to accommodate good tequila. It was only available for purchase which makes no sense because it was an all inclusive resort.

This hotel wasn’t far from the airport, it was clean the employees were nice and accommodating there was a lot of different food options and beverages. I’d definitely go back!

Dining food was great. Staff were awesome. Cleaning of the room itself was good but don't look like my balcony been clean in months. I stayed on the 5th floor, and you could smell and see the mildew.

VIP was really non existent. I would never pay extra for it again. There was no distinction between who had it and who didn’t. No wrist bands or anything. The preferred lounge didn’t have much in it. The concierge in the preferred lounge wasn’t any help with anything. All they kept telling us was push 0 on the phone. The room wasn’t fully turned over when it was assigned to us. So there were no towels, no garbage can. Took 24 hours to get a garbage can despite asking numerous times via in person at the preferred lounge, via WhatsApp and dialing 0. They kept giving us a small amount of towels. Food was only good at the Italian restaurant really and the omelettes and fruit at breakfast. Drinks were great. Resort is small. Entertainment is not that good.

The property was ok. The property need to work on keeping the premises clean in commom areas. At night the lobby tables are full of empty drink glasses all over the table.The food was delicious compared to most resorts. The food does take while to cook at some restaurants, but its worth the wait. The nighly entertainment needs improvement. The singers are singing too long and its not a variety of genres. Its just one type of music. The singers should be hitting multiple genres.of music throughout their set. All in all its a decent hotel.

Terrible food sorry

My only drawback would be the dining. The general buffet was okay and the seafood option was okay as well, my wife did enjoy the fish option but my steak option wasn’t the best piece of beef and a little undercooked. The Italian restaurant was my favorite. Ate there twice during my stay and the food options that you get poolside was tasty. Outside of my dining hang-ups the resort overall was a good experience and the staff was very helpful and attentive.

This is a nice property aesthetically. They advertise 6 restaurants. This is deceptive because they are counting bars as restaurants. Only 2 restaurants have AC and the food is the exact same everyday. Limited food options. Staff members are nice but communication is limited because very few of them speak English. It was clean but if food choices and having ac in common areas is important... then find another place to stay. Everyone in our party also got some stomach bug and got travelers diarrhea .

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The property is about 25 mins from the center of the city but accessible via taxi easily. The accommodations were ideal for a Sun-Fri stay as it was not too busy at the restaurants and pools. Much like the other reviews, the food for mediocre but edible. Most items just needed salt which were on the tables at the restaurant. The dress code is different online than when you get to the resort as well as one of the restaurants so be sure to ask. There is also a different website to find out about info happening at the resort that you will only know about if you ask about things like daily activities or room service. Overall, we’d do it again.

Overall we had an amazing stay. We paid for preferred but felt like we could have saved some money as there was no real distinction. There was a preferred lounge and pool area but everyone seemed to use the spaces. The buffet was ok. It was very small and limited but, considering the size of the resort, it makes sense. I was disappointed with the food at the restaurants. I preferred the room service food over the restaurants. 5 stars to room service. The food came hot and fast. This is the best room service experience in an all inclusive resort that I've experienced. Everyone was friendly, the staff was all welcoming. It was a beautiful property. I would recommend fixing the beach up some more.

Subpar Experience

The property is very small compared to other Hyatt resorts. There is only one fine dining restaurant which was Portofino and the food was average. The resort is very quiet and the beach is terrible. The sand and water are both is brown, and they haven’t cared enough to clean the debris that has washed up on the land. We will not be returning to this property.

Amazing experience

Overall, we had a good stay. We had great service from the staff in the VIP Lounge, Pool, and Restaurants. Drinks at the pool were very good! The hotel itself is nice but there is a little bit of wear and tear. The only issue I encountered was when I tried to use the spa discount. Apparently, the discount can’t be used for a spa package but no one explained that to us upon arrival. So, keep that in mind!

Resort is beautiful.

My room did not have hot water had to call them multiple times to come get the water hot. The room smelled like mildew. The bathroom door was broken. The liquor was terrible. They didn’t come and clean the room multiple days and didn’t restock the mini fridge. I would never recommend this place.

The property was a perfect distance from the airport it allowed me to relax and enjoy my vacation.
