Overall an excellent stay 👌
I liked how walkable it was. The pool area was lively and the entertainment was very enjoyable. The performers were very talented. The room was large and well-designed. The staff was friendly.
Service was good and the restaurants exceeded expectations. Buffet was alright, and beach was nice. Beach towels were unavailable at times, so secure them early.
Needs some TLC and more cleanliness
No complaints
One of the best beaches around - upgraded room and had a really nice experience. Staff are very friendly and relaxed. There are times when you want a drink or a plate cleared but you are on vacation so should chill :) if you have small kids (under 3) - we do - there’s no French restaurant access because kids club does not take them. We’ve been to a few Dreams elsewhere and there tend to be more kid activities in and around the pool rather than just kids club. We wanted a family vacation together and were ok with that but advising for other families with young kids. Overall we leave tanned, relaxed (as you can be with 2 and 7 year old kids), and with great memories.
Our stay at Dreams Dominicus was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted “Welcome Home” with warm smiles and exceptional service that set the tone for our entire vacation. The staff were attentive and Helpful. A special shoutout to our butler “Carlos Alfonso” who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Whether it was arranging special dinners, surprising us with thoughtful touches in our room, or simply being available for any request, their dedication to making our stay memorable was truly remarkable. Equally impressive was the luggage and car attendants, specifically “Maximo” They handled our belongings with the utmost care and efficiency, making our arrival and departure seamless and stress-free. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist with anything we needed made us feel incredibly welcome. The resort itself is a paradise. The pristine beach, luxurious accommodations, and top-notch amenities provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. Every detail, from the beautifully landscaped grounds to the exquisite dining options, was meticulously maintained and exceeded our expectations. Conclusion Dreams Dominicus is a gem, and the staff's attentiveness and helpfulness truly set it apart. We can't wait to return and experience this slice of heaven once again. Highly recommended!

This resort had a clean and a beautiful beach. This is the place to be if you want a clear and clean blue beach!!! The resort was clean and staff was friendly. It felt very safe. Very close to catalina island. We were able to hire snorkeling and scuba diving services right from the resort. The place had multiple food options and quite a few full bars scattered across the resort.
Everything was well maintained . Staff very professional . Real high end hotel experience. Loved every minute of my stay. I am happy with the money spent . Got a good luxury experience .
The staff are friendly and helpful. The spa is great. The food was very good.
Our butler Carlos was friendly, sincere and provided great service. He answered all of our questions and provided great tips. Excellent job!
This was a fun and safe property. Everyone was so kind and helpful. We had a great time.
Breathtaking views, phenomenal service, paradise!
3* quality, 5* prices
The overall hotel is nice, and the beach front is incredible. The rooms are comfortable but pretty average. However the food was really sub par and just felt like the first time cheapest ingredients were being used, and the staff constantly harass you trying to sell you things outside of the all-inclusive package. All-in-all I'd say this hotel is fine, but it's giving me 3* quality for 5* prices.
Our butler Gustavo was AMAZING!! We have never had that kind of service before! And he was a wonderful human being as well. Also our Bali bed service with Rudy and Ronelky was top notch! They were amazing! We would definitely come back!
Wow
The grounds of this resort are stunning. Cleanliness, pools, beach, gym, buffet restaurant and overall service were incredible. The beach/ocean has to be the cleanest and best in Dominican. During the second half of the week the resort was at capacity (during QC and U.S. university/college spring break) and in no way felt congested. The family suites are on the opposite side of the road from the main resort. This at first was a surprise, but turned out to be a very pleasant one as it was so peaceful there at night and had a great view over the resort in the evening light hours. Overall travel to resort took about 45 mins but was worth the extra 20 mins compared to Punta Cana resorts. Main pool bar staff Marcelo and Claudio were very nice and also good with kids. Gustavo was assigned as our “butler”. Nothing is too much for him. We were amazed at his willingness to make our trip the best it could possibly be as well as his contagious positivity and his presence. This extra effort made a great week an amazing one.
The beach is beautiful...
Long ride from the airport
It was amazing. Food and top shelf alcohol was great. The room and the amenities- all was great. We will come back again.
Great resort
Exceptional and will book again 🙂
It's a lovely resort and a great vacation at Dreams. Even though - it was not a huge selection of food, it was very good. The only thing is that sometimes it was a bit noisy late at night.
The beach was beautiful. Edwin was wonderful and super helpful. After reading the reviews about gastrointestinal issues, my family and I were super careful about what we were eating and making sure to wash our hands after touching anything at buffets or common areas. However, 2 out of 4 of us got food poisoning. It must have been from the pina coladas at one bar since that is the only thing my daughter and husband consumed that was the same. There is no one over seeing food handling here, and no cook or person handling food wear gloves ever or checks the temperatures of the food. As a medical professional, the food situation is just not safe. I should have went with my gut and booked another resort after reading all the GI issue reviews.
The property was satisfactory; however, there were numerous solicitations for additional services, reminiscent of the promotions encountered in Las Vegas concerning strip club visits. With family members present, we found ourselves avoiding eye contact with any individuals holding pamphlets. It became quite bothersome to navigate away from those promoting non-inclusive services or attempting to sell additional offerings at the resort, which was advertised as all-inclusive but did not fully meet that standard. Consequently, we will seek alternative vacation options for our family. The environment appeared to cater more to single guests, as wearing less clothing seemed to attract more attention from the staff.
During our stay, we were consistently impressed by the hospitality. Every single person we encountered was always polite, attentive, and ready to help with any request. While I remember the names of some staff members, like M and L, I want to emphasize that, in general, every staff member we interacted with truly deserves recognition for their excellent service. The entire team contributed to making our experience unforgettable, and we are truly grateful for their kindness and professionalism. Additionally, the Christmas special menu was excellent. The dishes were thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and a true highlight of our stay. It was a wonderful festive experience.
Edwin mejia, de estados unidos, excelente servicio todo estuvo 1A
We loved our family stay at the Dreams dominicus. The staff was always available and friendly. The areas are well kept. Me and family had a pool outside of our door which was convenient with the kids. The variety of food was good but needs improvement.
The food wasn’t that great but that’s okay because everything else was AMAZING
This is an amazing place to spend time with family or friends. Safe and friendly environment. Staff is very attentive, food and drinks are good enough, the hotel facilities are gorgeous, and the beach is a piece of heaven!
Propert layout was not properly explained by expediaa
A great resort and staff
Staff is very friendly and happy to help. The resort is nice, clean, and easy to navigate. I enjoyed my stay very much. The resort had a nice beach area and the pools were great. I recommend the resort.
Me gusto mucho 😌
I think it’s a bit misleading you say you are 20 mins from airport when in fact it is one hour. Most people I’m betting fly on and out of punta cana Nice place! Great staff. Gustavo our concierge truly excellent and helped with everything
This resort was spectacular! The service, the staff, the food, the atmosphere - all exceptional. I will be returning when I visit again.
The bell boys Mauricio excellent…nikka gave us a very welcomed tour… Nairobi on the pool gave us a super nice service..my drinks all the time on point.. Gustavo our mayordomo was our right hand taking care of us.. the food super good and very nice experience having a preference service…thank you!!
Very safe
The hotel was in very good condition and very clean , the staff was very friendly but definitely the shows were not what I expect it . They need more training. Also I was expecting to see their culture and never happened . Another thing were the juices . I was expecting natural juices for a 5 start hotel not powder juices. They tasted bad .
No good
We stayed at the resort 4 nights on a family vacation. The staff was always welcoming and polite. We especially enjoyed the beach which is fairly shallow for a long stretch of beach (almost sandbar style) that was waist deep. The waters here are very calm and no major waves. Loved the activities throughout the day and shows during the night. As far as food goes we enjoyed the preferred restaurant Flying Fish and the pizzeria dedicated to that area. The other on property restaurants also had really great meals that were a good portion size and left you feeling satisfied. We had snacks at the Coco cafe which was a great way to fill in between if you didn’t want a whole meal. Let’s talk drinks too!! They had bottled water at every bar and made it easy to stay hydrated while having fun. I can say that from all the drinks we tried there wasn’t one that missed the mark and the attendants at the bar know exactly what they are doing. I assure you we kept going back for more each time.
Thank you Melania and Erick and all staff.I recently had a wonderful stay at a resort that truly exceeded my expectations. Overall, the experience was great, with clean and modern spaces that made for a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any needs we had. Our room in the Preferred Club was incredibly spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of activities. The buffet was absolutely delicious, offering a wide variety of food choices that were both flavorful and fresh. I found myself enjoying the buffet more than the food from the actual restaurants. The cleanliness of the buffet area was also impressive, making it a pleasant place to dine. However, there were a couple of downsides worth mentioning. During check-in, our rooms were not ready despite arriving right at 3 PM. We ended up waiting until closer to 6 PM to get settled in, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, the Preferred Beach Area felt rather small; it seemed like every guest had access to the Preferred Club, leading to a shortage of beach chairs. We arrived at the beach by 10 AM, but all the seats were "reserved" by other guests, even though there was a clear sign stating this was not permitted. To secure a spot the next day, I had to wake up at 5 AM and reserve our seats, which was less than ideal. Despite these minor inconveniences, our stay was enjoyable, and I would recommend the resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
Pros: No mosquitos :) The buffet is good. Staff are so nice The beach is nice The daily activities like yoga and nightly shows are great The crowd is very international The view of forest was nice. Cons: Not enough chairs by the beach with shade. Unless you get premium The room needed TLC, maybe two night stands and two chairs for a room with two beds. Phone wasn’t working. Curtain was hanging. Reservation department, so bad! We needed a minor change to our reservation and it took them 4 days to pick up the phone. Also on checkout they told me that we had not paid for my son as an extra guest and when I showed them the receipt that I have they said it doesn’t specify the age! Well I don’t think I paid 200 extra per day for a 3 year old! Then they said Expedia has not paid them yet! And they wanted to see proof that I have paid Expedia which I did! We also got some emails to upgrade our room by betting on a price before arrival that I didn’t like and didn’t do. Notes: 1.Book a ride going to the hotel. we got an uber and we got lost 2.I booked the place because I thought they had a teen club, I don’t think they do, but there were lots of teens and they had beach volley. If your kid is into that 3.There is an app for hotel info and that is convenient but we needed to make reservations for dinner one night and no one not even the app informed us! 4.We did premium one day, as we wanted to be by the beach all day to get shade. Even that you have to go early.
Quick family getaway
This hotel can truly have the potential of being a 5 star hotel BUT unfortunately that was not the case for us. We booked this hotel last minute for a quick family getaway before returning to the states. Upon check in, we were told we needed to pay an extra $110 because our son appeared as an infant on the reservation (he is 12 and that information was done correctly during booking) which I will continue to dispute with Hotels.com as they were not able to help me resolve this issue. They were supposed to provide us with a roll-in bed which never appeared in our room. Secondly, the staff was not attentive or kind at all. Every drink or meal that was served was not done with kindness which is upsetting because everyone should be greeted with a smile during this time of year. A smile can go a long way! The drinks were not good, in fact, some of them were being refilled with other brands which is quite common in all-inclusive resorts but truly unfair. The food was good and many options were available throughout the entire day. Lastly, our rental car was crashed by one of the employees. They did help us clean up the yellow scratches but luckily, insurance covers those type of incidents. The best part about this property is the beach. One of the prettiest beaches I have seen in DR. Beautiful clear water with no seaweed with extremely relaxing and calm waters. So, although it was not our best experience, I can see why the reviews aren't as bad and why people recommend this place
Excellent hotel
Wonderful! It was so nice from the staff to the food. The beach was amazing!
Poor service from staff, food quality is bad and resulted in my family getting food poisoning after 2 days of eating there. Overall the service, the food quality and the preferred package experience was poor and below average. Definitely not what we expected from Hyatt hotel, We stayed at Hyatt Ziva in Cancun last year and the experience was amazing compared to this Hyatt hotel which is way below average.
Nice property, generally clean, lots of activities, nice beach area. Goos food. Overall good experience. Our butler, Gustavo, made our stay amazing with daily check-ins and helping us with anything that we needed. Would be nice if fitness center was bigger and more attention to dusting and sweeping the equipment and floor. Did not appreciate the upselling from the moment we checked in. We were already in Preferred with a butler. We did not need someone asking us to buy a timeshare every day or constantly asking us to schedule the spa.
The hotel is great, food is very good. The staff is very friendly.
great stay
Beautiful resort, delicious food, wonderful staff very attentive to details.
Booked this property with high hopes of getting world class facilities.. we were wrong after we had reached at the property. Welcome was not great. Folks at the front desk were on selling spree, they tried to sell different stay options obviously at extra charge :( Food options were limited and doesn’t really caters as they say ‘world cafe’.. we couldn’t find many Asian, South Asian, Indian cuisine options. Rooms were dated and so were the bathrooms. They don't even have smart tv’s in the room. Not sure if they were smart tv’s, atleast I was not able to get through YouTube or Netflix etc.
The bartending staff and the licals made it very clear that we werent welcome there. The club desires would bot serve us and made sure all the locals were taken care of. They seemed to have noregard to those that were also paying to stay there. 11 countries and 39 states and this was the most racial experience i have ever encountered
Everyone was wonderful. Very friendly and attentive
Let me just say absolutely everything was perfect. The staff were extremely nice. The food was good and everything was very convenient. We definitely come back.
We had a lovely time. Great resort. Very good for family. Nice beach. Clean swimming pool. Entertainment all day long. The mayordomo/butler Edwin was excellent.
We stay at this property every year - 5 years so far. Love the facility and the staff and service. We also get great upgrades here because we are Expedia member and because of the fact that we visit every year.
It was a great property. Food was amazing, staff were friendly and accommodating.
Great stay, lovely and helpful Highly recommend
Great beach, location and staff
We were welcome with an smile, both Juan and Francisco made the arrival and departure a pleasure. Excellent customer service, polite and courtesy. Angela and Brian at the buffet were prompt to help us with coffee, juice and everything else. Our concierge Karina was extremely helpful attending to all our needs including finding a taxi for us to take us to the airport. She was professional, courteous and always smiling. She made our visit a breeze and would come back soon.
Gustavo Luis was great. He decorated my husbands room for his bday and was attentive
Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful
Resort was good, quiet. I felt like the entertainment staff was lacking, not much for activities. The disco was horribly loud - like you need ear protection. The disco was in my building so sleeping was interrupted. There were staff constantly trying to sell spa treatments and romantic dinners. It became annoying. The Butler we had was Gustavo and he was good. The butlers should be able to dress more comfortable for the weather. Our friend spent the entire week sick in bed, was very sick to the point of needing medical assistance, her Butler was Erick and he was AMAZING!! I will also say that they need more seating at the pool and shade, it was too hot at the pool to enjoy. I will also say the drink section was limited, this was my 8th trip to the DR and other resorts have a much better drink selection and more ala cart restaurants to choose from. Over all I would consider returning but only because the beach/ocean was the best we have experienced. I traveled with a group of 12 and we all had fun because we had each other, otherwise it might have been a little boring.
All good thanks
Very good experience
The resort is not huge so it’s easy to get around. The beach is beautiful. The preferred club seemed to have a lot more benefits for those than without. Dreams has a good allergy policy in place which was reassuring when travelling with severe allergies. Food was good! Travel from airport to resort was not provided and we did not know until we landed in Punta Cana, and that was uncomfortable. We had Karina, an Expedia rep, and she was very helpful and always available through WhatsApp texting.
Love it
This has been by far the most amazing vacation ever! Our butler Gustavo is hands down the best!
The beaches in La Romana are lovely! The internet at Dreams Dominicus La Romana was great. The pools were filthy - particles, plastic and garbage floating and on the ground of the pool. Our upgrade to Preferred afforded no benefits - not worth it and nothing like the Preferred area in other Dreams/Secrets/Breathless properties. Our 2 room tropical view room had a view of a fire extinguisher from the balconies. The food was tasteless, overdone or underdone, congealed, very poor quality. The staff was rude and dismissive. Overall, STAY AWAY!!!
Gustavo es un buen empleado
the place was sooo beautiful!!!!
awesome
Everything excellent
What an experience. Highly recommended.
We liked the friendliness of the staff. Maybe back off a little bit on the pushing the extra things you have there…i.e. spa, dinner for two, and vendors in the evening.
Great beach, resort was very good
Clean and safe also they employees are nice helpful.
The resort was great, but what really made the trip was how out of his way our butler went for us to make the trip super memorable. Gustavo went and placed 3 dozen roses in the room in a pattern for my wife's bday while i snuck her out of the room, and that kind of customer service is beyond amazing. His easy going nature and follow through made the trip, and we'll definitely be going back there while he works there.
Definitely worth the upgrade to perferred program
Emil was very helpful. Also the lady at reception. However, the shaded areas on the beach are limited and the seats around the pools.
Overall the resort was very good, however we did have a few issues that need a mention. 1. The wi-fi is poor, the strength of the signal is not good, you can get no service while at the beach and that where most people hang out. 2. French Restaurant. When we booked at dreams la romana, their was no mention of needing long pants to enter one of the restaurants, I had with me smart shorts and dress polos and dress button down shirts, but they still would not let me enter into the restaurant, this needs to be changed to dress code smart. 3. The resort needs to stop guests putting towels out on sun lounges and leaving for the day, we saw many lounges with towels on them all day and nobody use them.
Everything was great! Highly recommend
The staffs were suppers, except for dthe one working the from bar at night,on Saturday 9/21/2024, whoever were the bartender after 10 pm need some customers care clase, also on 9/22/2024, same bar around 10 pm,a bartender name yisell,,basically was trying to pick a fight with us
Excellent
Excellent service in all areas
The beach is beautiful, no seaweed in sight. However, the manner in which the buffet tables are set up is unsanitary. There are placemats that are reused in between guest seatings all day long. The silverware is placed directly on top of the placemats. If someone sneezes, coughs or hasn't washed their hands all of that bacteria is on the placemats. If you wipe your mouth on the fabric napkin you then also place it on the placemat. I witnessed how they prepare the tables in between guests, the placemats are lifted so that the table gets wiped and then the same placemats are replaced back onto the table. Other resorts that I have traveled to have fabric tablecloths that are replaced after each guest seating. If you want to avoid the expense and maintenance of fabric tablecloths then just get rid of those placemats and use a clean fabric napkin and place the silverware on top of the clean napkin. Every morning around 9:30 am the front desk calls your room to ask you if you need anything. If you like to sleep in you are awakened by this call. I requested for the calls to stop but that didn't stop them from calling every morning. Finally I just disconnected the phone. The Beach Party is not included even though your trip is all inclusive there is a $30 per person fee to attend. The Majestic Resorts have never charged to attend their Beach Party. This was a big disappointment and very few people attended the Beach Party including ourselves.
The staff were wonderful. We upgraded to Preferred Club and it was well worth its value, specially the club meals and drinks. A special thank you to Angel, Jose Luis, and their manager for an exceptional experience.
beautiful amazing clean property. wonderful staff.
All of it was superb! We been to a lot of DR all inclusive and this one hands down did as promised. Amazing beach/ water! No sea weed which is always a problem for us. Food was always great! Top shelf liquor is a plus!
Breakfast was terrible, no bacon, scarce ham and cheese. Very understaffed. Omelette stations line was long, cooks too slow…
Me gustó mucho
Everything was perfect
Q
The best Part of this resort was a beach all the rest was a crap. We got food poising from eating fish and sea food in the resort on the third day of our 9 nights stay. My son has not really recovered from it till the end of the stay. I had stomach issues all my stay. The food choices were limited and the same every single day. Entertainment was limited as well. We were also accused for something in our reservation we were not responsible about. The staff was very aggressive to get their money, at first making false accusations. It left a bad taste in our mouth. They really ruined our vacation. After paying additional 2K, the cost of the vacation that we had, became too high for the amenities that they offer. I feel they are money hungry, stay away.
Beach and hotel areas were excellent.
Beautiful, clean
The rating for this property is incorrect. There was broken glass embedded in the carpet in my room and I stepped on some of the glass as well, which indicated the proper. The room was not clean properly. I am seeking reimbursement for the stay.
Beautiful resort with the best beach in DR. Awesome service, excellent food. Absolutely no complaints!
I liked the kindness of all the people who work there, without exception. Always ready to help or give you any information you need. The nightly shows were spectacular, so much fun to watch.
Dreams Dominicus La Romana - All Inclusive | Hotel in San Rafael del Yuma | Travala.com
This hotel is frustrating. Despite being advertised as all-inclusive, their constant attempts to upsell are bothersome. We were even charged $160 for a bottle of wine without our explicit knowledge, which feels like a scam. While the location is convenient and the French restaurant is good, the overall experience leaves us with the distinct impression that they are constantly trying to deceive their guests.
