Location A Must!
Staff was very helpful and the restaurant provided a very nice breakfast. Loved the location.
PRICEY PARKING BUT EASY... GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICES NICE PEOPLE
Pricey add-ons abound !$$!$!
Outrageous-parking prices. Not enough lighting in bedroom. Wonderful beds with plenty of pillows. Great room but I felt there were excessive charges for everything. Unable to self park. $75 for “incidentals.” Breakfast additional.
Nice hotel with overpriced parking.
Hotel and location was great. Parking was ridiculously expensive.
The staff was friendly
Wonderful
Overall my family’s stay was wonderful. Check in was quick and easy even though it was extremely busy due to a football game earlier in the day. When we arrived I could not get valet parking because they over sold for the UT Austin game therefore I had to park in the Moody Bank parking garage and walk over to the hotel. The plus side of that was the cost was cheaper. The location of the hotel was very convenient to where we needed to be so we did not drive too much we walked around the city and took in the beautiful views and enjoyed the crisp breeze. Our room included a living room area and kitchenette separate from the bedroom. The bathroom was spacious with a shower/tub combo. I would only suggest a longer shower curtain liner because the floor will get wet no matter how many times you tuck the liner in the tub. Access to the elevator was easy and quick. We did not need housekeeping to replenish our room however they were available/visible if needed. I would highly recommend this hotel, however I would call to ask questions if you are needing clarification on anything.
This suite hotel is very comfortable and convenient. The stuffs are friendly. Thank you!
I had a wonderful stay! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and offered all the comforts I could ask for. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The amenities were top-notch, and the on-site dining was fantastic. The location was also perfect, conveniently close to the State Capital. Overall, my stay exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to visit again. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience!
Close proximity to the Capitol.
Very nice hotel and close to the capital building in downtown Austin. Easy walk to the Texas Book Festival. The only negative thing is there is no onsite parking available. You'll either have to use the hotel valet or self park in a nearby parking garage.
Nice hotel
Great hotel. Woke smelling some type of odor. But very clean and great people.
We never checked into this hotel and you have charged our AE and are not giving us back the money for credit. I will never use Hilton or hotels.com or Expedia again. Too bad. My husband and I are retiring and planning on traveling a lot
Our room had a leak that required a very loud air fan to try to dry out carpet. There was mold in our shower that we asked to get cleaned and they did not. We also had to ask after being gone for them to clean our room. They wiped down the bathroom but nothing else. Beds werent made and no restock of toilet paper or kleenex. Very dissatisfied this visit especially for the cost of the room for only 2 nights
Home away from home
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had a fabulous stay at the Double Tree. We even extended our stay by one extra day. Haven’t stayed at a Double Tree in years, and was pleasantly surprised. Will be making them my choice of hotels in the future.
Clean and friendly staff
Well managed, spacious room, maybe getting close to needing a refresh, but most convenient if you have business at the capital.
Good proximity
Transients everywhere!!!
Gian provided excellent service at check in and we were able to enjoy a great night after our wedding.
Had to pay for parking
Enjoyed having an onsite restaurant that served delicious food. Didn’t enjoy not knowing ahead of time it was valet parking. Also, valet was accessible ONLY through phone (which wasn’t explained thoroughly) so when we called using valet button on in room phone we left message only to learn they didn’t have any way of getting our message. Beautiful room layout!
Convenient location in Austin!
Very convenient location. Room was huge with all the amenities that we needed. Nice couch and 2 TVs. Bed was comfortable & the shower felt great. Easy to walk to 6th street area or all the way to the river. Our only complaint was some weird stains on the carpet and deteriorating toilet seat that could have been repaired.
Couldn't believe this was a Hilton property
Stayed at what they called the "Presidential Suite". The comforters had dirt stains on them, the hallway apparently had some major leak wherein they had blowers running to dry the mold riddled carpet. Absolutely ridiculous. This is a Hilton!???
location
The building itself was clean and well maintained, within walking distance of the capitol and UT. The fitness facility is small but was clean and functional. Before you get on the Peloton be sure it's live - despite being connected to the WiFi network it wasn't activated. Every day, I received a text message from the front desk asking if I were enjoying my stay and if there were anything else they could do for me. Every. Day. Parking is NON-EXISTENT unless you pay the ridiculous fee of $57/day for their onsite valet. They work almost only with an app and begin hounding you for full payment immediately after they've taken your car, regardless of how far away your checkout date is. When you want your car, you can only request it immediately, you can't put in a request at 8 am that says you'd like your car at 9:30. AND they text you asking for tips. The daily valet rate is consistent with other hotels in the area but it's excessive.
Expensive. Beds horribly hard. Breakfast bufffet ridiculous expensive and no warning of cost.
Parking fees
Place was nice. Extra parking fees were a surprise. Way to high.
Not fair to make travelers pay for Valet parking since we already pay for this five rated hotel! This sucks! Rather stay at your competitor who allows free parking. Is Austin run by political mafiousos?
.
First, I was given a room I couldn't get access to due to a large blower blocking the entrance. When I went back downstairs the maintenance guy heard me tell the concierge what the problem was and questioned why he gave me that room. Concierge said he wrote the wrong room number down....by 3 floors. Second, breakfast wasnt included. Ok, but $50 per person for breakfast buffet that wasnt all that?? Last, the a/c in the room was so loud that I'm sure my neighbor could hear my tv. Overall just wasnt impressed.
The propery was very clean and the staff was very nice and professional
Pro: We had a good stay at double tree. Walkable to the UT game. Con: peloton was not working- but fixed it by calling peloton helpline. Valet for two nights was $136.
Really nice hotel.
The Ut stadium is like a good 24 min walk. That's why we picked it. There's bikes always offering a ride to the stadium for like $50 so well worth it. Hotel is really nice and clean. Really nice staff at check in and even valet was all Sweet. They did not have extra pillow and blanket for the pull out couch. We called downstairs for one and even on game day for Texas Longhorns , they were able to service us really quick. Only downfall valet was full so we had to park at a garage nearby it wasn't too far. Rooms are so nice roomy and clean.
Your advertisements need to make it clear that you intend to charge $57/night for overnight parking. To me, this is not a reasonable charge when local parking rates are only $20/day. Your current practice is borderline deceptive.
hotel room was great, the only complaint was the smell of sewage in bathroom once we checked into our “cleaned” room. Very off putting smell that made it difficult to even want to use it at times, other than that the room was great and spacious.
Service could have been better. We did not get any help to set up sofa bed, or got any toiletries/ towels. Reason given was there’s only one person at the reception at that time.
Property is still under remodel but staff was awesome. Rooms are nice. Parking cost was a little high to me $60 a night but we were close enough to walk to the Capitol, Darrell K Royal Stadium- UT Campus and Blanton Museum of Art.
Did not have a remote for TV in the bedroom. The bath tub only worked as a shower. Very disappointing.
Multiple issues with the room itself; Electrical outlets that didn't work, lamps that didn't turn on, towel hooks that weren't secure to the wall. And the biggest issue is the valet parking. $55 per day, plus an extra fee for having an oversized vehicle. Only for them to park my truck 20 feet from the door, and if I requested my vehicle, I was given the key and went to the truck myself without the valet bringing it. $160 later my truck has bird feces on the hood and was left half on the curb one night.
Double Tree by Hilton in Austin was an ideal stay. It was conveniently located near great restaurants, tour and museum sites, and other attractions. The room was clean and spacious. Staff was attendant and professional. I highly recommend the hotel.
You pay for convenience!
Overall, our stay was pleasant. The bartender and concierge were very nice and helpful. The room was clean, the balcony was nice (albeit small), the location was perfect. There were only a few bad things, the ring around the shower head was broken off (reported to maintenance) but did not affect functionality. The beds were quite uncomfortable and not what we expected for a Hilton Hotel. The biggest issues we had were related to the parking and buffet. The parking attendants wrote down my number wrong so we were unable to have our vehicle ready for us with the app, and the app showed us staying longer than we were supposed to, and tried overcharging us. The buffet was good I am told (I did not eat it), however the pricing sign was turned backwards so those in my party who were eating, were unaware of the cost until after they had already made their plates. They all agreed that they would have rather gone to IHOP or Denny's for the cost of the meal coupled with such a small selection. While we will likely never stay at this hotel again, the location was the sole reason we booked it, and the location did not disappoint.
Everything was easy and accessible from the check-in to the check-out. The only suggestion would be to add some trash can arounf the front of the building like other buildings in the area. Wheres you may be pet friendly, there is no convenient location to dispose of our furry family members poop.
I recommend the property, very nice place to stay
Great experience
Excellent hotel in Central area
The staff was super friendly, dinning options were very convenient, and the pool was exceptional! Great home away from home or staycation option! We will be back!!
Great value
The hotel is ok, the room was very comfortable with kitchen and mini living room. The only parking option is valet parking. The hotel looks old but for the price is fine. I did not like the breakfast was expensive and very basic. Service was great
It was very dusty and the rooms were very hot
Hair covered blanket
It was great except for the blanket and sheet in the closet. It was covered in hair and the blanket was so uncomfortable.i called the front desk and we got a new blanket. It was very close to the Capitol. Also I had booked the wrong date and realized within minutes and had to pay an extra like $40 to change the date to the correct one. It was my fault but I still feel like they could have not charged me because I realized it so fast.
For what they charge it wasn’t worth it the room was not clean I wouldn’t stay there again
Clean and comfortable
It was ok
The hotel is dated needs renovating
Great property. Staff was very friendly.
Great stay
Great stay for great price for suite. Easy contactless check in and out
NA
Very good stay. Guest with pets should have a designated area that was the only thing I didn’t like but the stay was amazing
Great staff
Comfortable place to stay. Very nice and helpful staff. And clean.
Our room was not cleaned the first night of our stay. When I contacted the front desk about it, the clerk was very rude. However, I spoke to another associate the next morning and he was very kind and took care of the issue. The pool was out of order, breakfast was $25 per person and was cold with limited options. Upon checking out, there were others checking out that had complaints as well.
So, the last time I stayed here was about four to five years ago and it seemed pretty different this time and not in a good way. The room was uncomfortably hot, even with the AC set to the coldest setting (we did go in July, but still, it was too hot). The bathroom started emitting a sewage like smell by the morning of our second day that we couldn’t get rid of due to there being no exhaust fan. Also, the bathtub drain would not stay in place, which meant we couldn’t easily bathe our child. Lastly, but most bothersome was that my two year old found three pointy screws near the floor around the curtains in the sitting area. I believe they came out of the ceiling as they looked like the ones that were holding the curtains up. Thankfully, we watch our son like a hawk and snatched the screws away from him as quickly as he found them! Although all of the staff we encountered were very nice, I would not stay here again.
Waste of money
Unfortunately nothing was advertised on Hotels.com or actual website for hotel regarding the renovations. No pool. No food. No water for a few hours. Upcharge for valet because we don’t have a compact car even though no extra room was taken. Valet parking literally 10 steps right out the door and the valet guys kindly recommended to walk to our car several times so not sure why even a charge. Check out was a joke as the guy that was behind counter was too busy smiling and texting. Maybe this is what is meant by the saying “stay weird Austin” never will I stay here again.
Do not recommend
Shower pressure was minimal especially for cold water. Faucet in bathroom was leaking. My laundry bag went missing. I checked out early due to these issues and hit with a $75 early check out fee.
The rooms smell like mold, decor is very outdated. It’s walkable and safe but not a lot of dining options in the direct vicinity.
It would have been nice to know prior to checking in that there was no pool or restaurant and there are massive renovations being done on the property
There is no pool or restaurant. Everything is closed for remodel. This was not noted in the property description. We have nothing to do at the property. It feels old and dirty. It does not look as pictured online. Pictures and description are deceiving.
I really injoyed my stay. Everything was easy and the staff we're kind and very helpful.
.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable!
Overnight stay
Everything was great except the pool was closed for renovation. The fee for valent parking was way too much .
The rooms do not have fans so it gets too hot even if ac is at 65. It would be nice if it is mentioned that there is only valet parking at the time of booking, not when you reach there. You cannot park your car on street due to being in downtown. They charge 50$ per night for valet parking.
Room was great & so was the service :)
Conveniently located close to the capital and university and walkable to downtown. Undergoing some renovations, but nothing that impeded the stay.
Bar was under renovation and an elevator was broken leaving one elevator
Inside the building is good, but around the property is not safe and dirty!
Great place to stay, away from the chaos of 6th street but if you want to party you can
awesome room, great view friendly wtaff
Great/friendly front desk
Great!!
All good except internet
Nice hotel but be aware of the way they charge you
The hotel and rooms were lovely but 3 staff members dropped the ball and that is the reason for the 3 stars. I had 2 rooms but only 1 car yet I was charged for valet car service with both rooms. Upon check-in, I told the valet and the front desk I have only 1 car. Upon getting my emailed receipts, I noticed I was charged for valet twice. I called the hotel accountant, and instead of crediting me for the valet charge she ran a total room charge again. She claims she ran a credit for the wrong valet and the wrong room charges when she realized her error yet it’s day 6 and I still don’t have the credits. So while the hotel and rooms are nice, I caution you on the way they handle the financials. It is very frustrating.
Great Service and location.
Tacos in the restaurant were not really tacos, $61.00 for 3,tacos, a blt sandwich and a piece of cheesecake was high, plus a $10 tip. The breakfast buffet was lacking and we were never told there was a charge for it. When we got to the dining area the waiter said buffet or order from the menu- we assumed the buffet was free and there would be a charge for the menu, the buffet which was really not good was $45, we could have ordered from the menu for the same price and had what we wanted. Will not stay at DoubleTree again.
Glreat location.
Loved the location and rooms! Ready the renovation to be complete.
Great area
Will go back
They were recently renovated. Great space. Fair. Good experience
One night stay
It was great. A bit old but clean! Bar area is being remodeled.
Clean and comfy
The suite was roomy, clean, and comfortable. Would definately stay here again.
Nice place some construction work going on but all in all a nice stay
Room wasn't ready on arrival and had to wait. Phone in the room didn't work. Staff were nice however offered no discount for the delay or horrible check in. Place is clean and in good condition.
Nothing special about this place.
Under construction, waiter at breakfast was rude
One important thing to know is that Valet parking is the only option, from what I understand. It is $55 a night (with taxes). The hotel is LOVELY. The staff are courteous and very helpful. It is a very busy area of town but our room was quiet without any road sounds.
Dining and breakfast in room only due to renovation. Very inconvenient. Not enough staff. Asked to brink blanket for rollaway bed and was told to get it myself since hotel didn't have enough people available.
When it comes to hotels, I feel my expectations are quite reasonable: comfortable place to prepare for sleep, comfortable way to have breakfast, and in an upscale hotel, some way to relax with friends (also staying at the same hotel). I was caught off guard how thoroughly a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton managed to fail at all three expectations. Breakfast? Dining area is closed, the best you can have is food delivered to your room, so if you want to have another cup of coffee, or seconds, back to first floor you go. No cocktails or anything else facility-wise available to relax with friends either. Want to read or work in the evening? Too bad, the light fixtures in the room blink, two of them, without rhythm or reason. We tried to use the pool, and could not bring ourselves to partake - it has not been cleaned in a while. Dishwasher noise level makes it absolutely impossible to sleep with it working. On a positive side, the room was clean, and the personnel was friendly. But no matter what they did, they could not offset atrocious state of the facility itself. I cannot shed feeling that I was treated to essentially a Motel 6 experience in a notionally 4-star hotel by Hilton.
Large Suite room concept is very practical for families or people sharing a room. The hotel is in the process of upgrading certain areas which is long overdue
I just wish i didnt have to pay for valet parking if im already booked with them.they insisted they only had valet parking
Underwhelming experience
It was a mixed bag. Stayed with family for three nights. . The hotels location was great and the condition of the hotel / room were fantastic. -Service was a disappointment. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned after they failed to do on day 1. Front desk was very inconsistent and non responsive over phone. - Parking was super expensive through valet. Those who are staying over, consider street parking, as there is plenty as the paid public parking has no security detail. For the daily rate that is being charged, it is very limited in services and you are constantly having to pay for additional services.

Austin DoubleTree Capital Stay
I enjoyed the hotel's comfort, friendliness, and cleanliness. I didn't like that you had to pay for everything. Wi-Fi wasn't even free, so I had to use my hotspot from my phone. In addition, you have to pay for breakfast because it isn't complementary, which should be since you're paying for everything else. I would recommend it again, but I wish they would allow free Wi-Fi and breakfast. It would make it a 10/10 instead of an 8/10 in my book.
