Great service
Convenient, clean, nice.
Excellent and will recommend again
Great room and then after falling asleep a housekeeper started vacuming the room next door which woke us up.
Easy check in
Friendly staff
The carpet is plain and simple filthy - just outrageously filthy. Please change it!! Old property - needs TLC pretty much all over. The garage parking is a challenge - no elevator on one side thus have to drag ALL your luggage.
No body wash, no soap spiders crawling on towels rust everywhere
Room smelled really bad like mildew. We had to open the patio door to freshen up the room. I did let front desk know but all I got was a sorry but no accommodation. The room was pretty run down for the cost of the nightly stay. There is no microwave in the room and only one communal microwave in the lobby. Also, you have to pay $30 a night for unsecured parking. Horrible stay overall.
This is not the room i wanted! I paid for 1 king bed and im getting 2 queen beds! We are a couple and this doesnt work for us!! Theyre all booked from 2 3 weeks ago, and I have booked my room for 2 3 weeks!!! I am very unpleasant and will contact you guys as soon as possible
I didn't have the greatest experience. I have expressed by concerns to doubletree directly.
We enjoy staying here beds are comfortable and room is really clean.
Durty room, stained bathtub, questionable clean sheets. The room smelled bad and the carpet in asection of the room was dampen. The lobby was okay and clean but as soon as we got to the room floor the carpet is old and durty, and bad smell greet us as soon as the elevator doors open.
the heater in the room doesn't work... it is too cold on 90 degree... the phone charger doesn't work... poor room lights... the jacosy pump doesn't work and I choose this hotel to enjoy the hot tub .....
The Staff was really great.
Great accommodations! Will visit again.
Very nice
Homeless people in lobby sleeping. Room was nasty dirty. Wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. Staff was completely rude and made no attempt to resolve the issue. Did not offer a different room or anything. Dont stay here.
The rooms carpet was stained and dirty. Throughout the night we were awake because of the freeway traffic, it was extremely loud.
I had an extremely disappointing stay at this hotel. Upon entering my room, I noticed hair everywhere—on the bed, in the bathroom, and even on the furniture. It was clear the cleaning standards were not up to par. The towels provided were another issue; they turned yellow in the water, which was both unsettling and unsanitary. Adding to the discomfort, there was visible mold and rust in several areas, including the bathroom and air vents. It gave the room an overall neglected and unhygienic feel. To top it off, the entire hotel felt outdated, with worn-out decor and furniture that looked like it hadn’t been replaced or maintained in years. For the price I paid, I expected far better conditions. I would not recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.
20 years ago hotel circle was a great place to stay. Now this hotel is run down decaying and for the same price you could say someplace else in a nicer hotel. This hotel would be 49.95 room just a few years ago. Complete garbage
Ok
The hotel it’s self was nice. The issue was the parking, the garage was so small and tight and doesn’t even connect to a hotel entrance. Not to mention the extra charge to park your vehicle in this garage. My husband has a handicap and the two spaces at the front were always occupied and not necessarily by anyone with a license plate or plaque.
Not friendly staff
The entire hotel smelled like smoke & weed. The rooms smell like they’ve been smoke in. The tub wouldn’t drain the water while showering which felt gross when showering. They have a $33 a DAY parking. I’ve never stayed in a Hotel that was already expensive charge for parking PER DAY. the $200 deposit was gone just with parking and a bunch of other “fees”. A total of $800 for a cigarette dirty smelling hotel was absolutely ridiculous. Take your money somewhere else.
Clean
This hotel need a bulldozer. The windows are single pane and transmit sound like crazy. On top of the price they charge 32 dollars a day to park on property for $80 more that we paid Expedia and hotel parking you could stay in a state of art new hotel with no parking fee I blame Expedia for not disclosing that hotel’s policy on their web sight
Disappointed
Upon checking in at the hotel, we notice that the front desk staff was rude and not helpful when asking questions regarding our stay.
Love this hotel! It’s so close to everything
Really enjoyed our stay but there waa no fresh coffee available unless you went to the cafe and paid for it.
I’ve had positive experiences with DoubleTree before, but my recent stay was extremely disappointing. I checked in on Saturday just 15 minutes after check-in and was given a noisy room where the elevator sounds were constant. I requested a room change, and while the staff moved me the next day, things only worsened from there. After moving rooms, I accidentally left my headphones behind. I contacted the hotel on Sunday, but was told I’d have to wait until Monday to confirm if they were in Lost and Found. On Monday, I received confirmation they were found, but was informed I’d have to pay for shipping to have them returned. I was still onsite at the time, and I don’t understand why I wasn’t notified when the headphones were first found. I spoke to the director, who explained that the Lost and Found team only works weekdays, yet the headphones were supposedly returned to Lost and Found over the weekend. I was also told if I didn’t want to pay shipping, someone else could pick them up, but I had no one available to do so. I feel completely dissatisfied and unfairly charged. I expected better service from a well-known brand, and this experience has soured my perception of DoubleTree. I am requesting that my headphones be returned to me at no charge for shipping, given the circumstances. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
We needed a last minute stay in San Diego and I was able to book a 3 night stay with no problem. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice clean room as well which is always appreciated. Will definitely stay here again if we visit San Diego!!
Decide to park on the street instead of paying for not supervised parking. Had my gas cap stolen.
Over charging
clean hotel and good bed
Smelly, Hot and Run Down
Our floor had a weird smell as soon as you got off the elevator. The ac in our room didn’t work properly. The room was run down stained carpet missing patch and damage to the wall outside of the bathroom. Left the hotel at 7am and returned around 3:30 to 4pm and house keeping hadn’t cleaned the room yet.
The hotel is old and dirty !
The carpet, bedding and mattress were filthy and need replacement. Also the was a dank fowl odor in the hallways of several floors.
Was Bamboozled
Bought a delux king size room was given two queens and there’s nothing else they could do for me not refund me part of my money for having the better room and no other options in making it right. There was hair on the floor of bathroom
I booked this hotel to greet my son as he arrived back from deployment. The first night of the stay my daughter was awakened by a bed bug crawling on top of the sheet by her face. She saved the bug and gave it to management. I was not offered a discount or refund for this major inconvenience but I was moved to a large room. However, given that bed bugs can cause physical damage and if they travel back to my home it will be an expensive undertaking to remediate. I’m very disappointed!
I enjoyed the setup of the suite and it's outdoor areas
Homeless people walking around the parking structure and no secuirty and no responsibility if your car gets broken into
Bathtub was pooling water and in the morning would be filled with black mold floating around in water that had come back up into the tub. Room smelled like sulfur or sewage throughout the day especially strong when entering the room. Was denied a king size room that was paid for - understanding the policy - it’s still not reasonable to be charged for a less quality room and less sleep
Too many issues with the room
Friendly staff, clean rooms, housekeeping staff was great. I had a problem with the air conditioner reported to front desk maintenance/engineering department quick to respond fix the issue quickly.
We left early
It was an absolute disgusting place Hilton has lowered their standards
Except for lobby, hotel in dustier, chipped paint, dirty carpet, etc.
Location was close to everywhere we wanted to visit like zoo and sesame place.
Good hotel. The parking is not good.
We stayed for 2 nights. We stayed on the second floor. You can hear car noise, but not too bad. Midnight we were woken up to water dripping from the ceiling to our restroom tub, the room upstairs left their tub running. Didn't move us to a new room until the next morning. We moved to the 5th floor. You can hear everyone's sliding door and an annoying beeping noise all night long! Place was clean and the cookies were good.
We stayed in the family suite, the blanket that was on the bunk bed have hairs not just one but a lot.
Good
Staff was nice at check in they were friendly and knowledgeable . The cookies were good and pool area was nice. Once we got to our room we smelled a mildew Oder that was unbearable. First thing we tried doing was airing it out but none of the windows were accessible to open up so we could air it out. We also went into the pool and went to ask for towels there was a long line of people checking in when we asked for some towels to the manager looking over the receptionists she provided no assistance. We’ll also stayed with some friends and they also had a problem with stench in the room.
The stay was great, the staff was very helpful. The parking is horrible, especially with an oversize vehicle. But otherwise, I have no complaints.
Parking was difficult and not many ADA spaces available.
Please save your money and do not stay here. The staff is nice, but the property conditions are terrible. Broken ironing board and hair dryer. Some electric outlets don’t work. The whole room (aside the lobby) looks run down. Motel 6 down the street would’ve been better, cheaper and free parking versus paying $33 a night. I booked through Expedia and now I understand why they charge you a full night regardless. Wouldn’t be surprised if more people cancel once they check into their rooms and ask to leave because of the poor conditions.
Place had bugs and dirty room
The parking lot elevator seemed poorly maintained. We used the elevator when we arrived and there was some very questionable noises when it was operating to the point we did not want to go inside it again. We noticed that it was not operating the day of our departure so hopefully someone is going to call to get it serviced.
Quiet
The towels were all stained it seemed like and the carpet was noticeabley stained and gross
Parking garage only supports vehicles under 6” tall - parking for larger vehicles is quite a walk to entrance. Carpets frayed and stained - the entire room needs to renovated and updated with new items
Enjoyed our stay!
Great location
Rooms are hit and miss, entrance is a disaster, parking is tight and the staff are very odd, rude and argumentative. Stay here if you’re trying to save a buck, otherwise look elsewhere. I travel to SD about 3 times a year, I would not stay here again.
The hotel is old and smells funny. We had 3 rooms and all 3 rooms were hot and semi clean. The showers trickle out and the parking garage is a mess put they charge $30 a day for parking
Everything was a great smooth process. No complaints!
Easy check in and the staff is awesome!
The property was generally nice. Bed, hot water in shower and quite location were the positives. You get cookies when you check in but are charged $3 for a bottle of water. The hot tub was broken my entire stay ( one of the top reasons I choose this location over others with free breakfast). Cost was to high for what you receive. Lobby was always hot (restaurant and bar also hot).
Air conditioner was broken in my room. There where gnats in the room. The separate bedroom that had bunkbeds smelled like a kid peed in the corner, and the elevator was broken to the parking lot, which made it very difficult to carry my luggage.
Meh, could have been cleaner.
This property doesn't offer free breakfast, but does offer a very expensive version of the free breakfast you get at any best Western or other hotel offering free breakfast. Even a coffee was $3 and $22 for adult and $13 for kids. But again, just a low quality breakfast buffet. It's run down and we didn't even get a cleaning for stay over, so trash and such wasn't taken out. Had to ask for cups etc since they don't clean between days. The pool was nice, the beds were comfy. Parking costly and a VERY TIGHT SQUEEZE. It was the worst, but I won't go back.
Great customer service, hospitality, and care.
I was a little bummed that the Jacuzzi was closed and we had to switch room because our room smelled like smoke. So our second view wasn’t as nice as the first, but overall the beds were comfortable, and the staff is nice.
Sdaztrip
Nice hotel and location for easy access to freeways. Only downfall is daily parking fee.
Property needs some TLC, airflow in rooms is poor. Lots of strong smells of THC and musty in rooms. No fridge in room. Staff were very kind.
Beautiful pool/picnicking area. Spacious lobby. Well situated restaurant for breakfast. Responsive staff - fulfilled our request within minutes of asking. Staff also helped to correct my error in stating original dates.
It’s a good spot if you are on a budget and are looking for something still nice. The biggest inconvenience is the parking. My partner has a pickup truck and he was not able to park in the structure because it’s so tight. They do have oversized parking but its limited. However they let us park on a red curb like spot after my partner explained the parking issue. We were able to do this during our whole stay so we appreciate they accommodated us in that aspect. Welcome cookie is good!! Staff is nice and it smells nice when you walk in the lobby. The hotel bathroom had a few woman hairs and there was a bit of dust on the lamps but it was fine nothing crazy like the other reviews. Probably wouldn’t come back though.
Disgusting
It was pretty disgusting. Our room was so dirty and dusty. Stained carpets and filthy floors. I feel uncomfortable sleeping there.
First I booked a regular room and got a wheelchair accessible room. I called and they said my 3rd party booked that and to call them. My 3rd party called and they still did not compensate me. My restroom floor had dirt spots like the didn’t and don’t mop the floor. I took a Clorox wipe and it came up so it was stiff tracked on the floor and they don’t clean the floor properly. The white towels are dingy with concerning stains. I wiped down my room when I arrived but housekeeping came and wiped behind me the next day and left a trail of filth. I think they’re using the same towels to clean different rooms because there was stringy hair left all over my sink and on the restroom floor. My hair is a kinky curly, I didn’t have extensions so who blonde stringy hair all over my room? Never again!
This is an average hotel with prices above its quality.
I expected better from The Doubletree as they are a Hilton entity. The beds are not comfortable. Never ever have I ever had to pay for parking nightly when i stay in hotels. Never again.
O
The fact that it was not like motel and equipment/room was modern not old or outdated like some hotels in downtown san diego
Parking nor Breakfast included
The hotel was good for the most part. We didn’t have issues that other reviewers did but we did miss two major details. Parking is an additional cost, $33 per night at the time of this writing. This is also my fault for not properly researching, but I’m writing this to warn others like myself who assumed a continental breakfast would be complimentary. Not only is it pricey but it’s also a basic breakfast. Outside of those two things, the hotel was fine. I had a 4 night stay and housekeeping only cleaned our room once. I don’t understand how that happens especially when we were out of the room all day every day. The walls were a bit thin if that’s a concern.
Room smelled. Much of the rest of the property smelled, e.g. the gym. Particularly disappointed that the hotel charges for parking - it was in the fine print when I booked, but not obvious; and when I asked if I needed to register the license plate of the rental at the front desk the concierge gave me a yellow slip with "$33 / day" in small print, while neglecting to mention it.
Nasty place. As soon as we entered the room, everyone got a strong scent of mold. The scent was so strong that it was obvious for all of us but obviously, we failed to spot the location. We told the front desk about it and they said there is nothing they can do because room is fully booked which may be true but I found it very hard to believe because we book for Thursday and Friday, 2 nights, which is not the weekend and it was the last week of August which is not the prime summer vacation time but I can't prove anything on my end. The most disgusting part of the stay was that it was the last day when we were packing our stuff and making sure that we did not leave anything behind.. and then we spotted the big mold on the lower end of the bed sheet!!!! We asked the room to be cleaned after first night but obviously bed sheet was not changed or cleaned. Because of the name Hilton, we had some sort of expectation but never going to stay every again.
Worth the stay and good location for San Diego area.
Great price , friendly staff , great location
Not enough Parking if you have a full size truck. Tight exits in Parking structure. The landscaping crew up early morning with bloweres at 7am. Not people friendly at all.
The room was very outdated and had not been maintained well. The tub had rust, the wallpaper was coming off, the vent in the bathroom had a thick layer of dust. Was not what I was expecting.
The staff was horrible. They charged for everything but the location was great and it was a safe place to stay. I wouldn’t stay again but for the 1st time taking my babies on A hotel staying was affordable and they were comfortable!
I didn't get a welcome greeting or offered room service. However, I was surprised by daily parking fee. Don't waste your time & don't keep fancy items displayed. My wife's dress was stolen from the bathroom. It was a Rare and hand made Red dress from Mexico.
The one and ONLY complaint, the parking. It was not very efficient for bigger vehicles
would not stay again, there was a weird smell
Needs to be renovated badly and the alarm clock went off 3 o’clock in the morning waking me and my family up.
.
The beds were comftarble how ever the room smell really bad and we had to deal with a damage bathroom door . Room service was interesting . As I was taking the kids to the pool the front desk lady and the person taking the food were making uncomfortable comments about the guest receiving the room service . Little did they know that the room service was for my husband and my kids . I normally don’t make comments but these individuals almost took our drinks and food among them. They made commemts about how much it was spent in room service and making assumptions about the payments . The room service had already being charged on my card and we were probably profile for our color . Very poor service .
One of the reasons for booking this location was due to the site saying breakfast was included. When we had breakfast it was $22 per person(5) and they told me it wasnt included. Hotel did nothing to try and fix the situation they simply said contact Expedia
Not worth the price. Party hotel.
We stayed for 3x nights for work / an event I had to attend nearby. The rooms were OK. It was a good size for the king suite, however I don't think it was worth the price. All in, I paid over $300/night. Our tooms had a lingering smell of cigarettes and even some burns on the carpet. The water pressure was horrible and a terrible smell came up from the pipes occasionally. We had new neighbors nightly that were up yelling, cursing & partying. It was awful. I complained to the front desk after the first night of lost sleep, who told me that they were checking out so it would be better. Unfortunately, more rowdy guests arrived and the problem repeated itself. Staff were all friendly but overall our experience was sadly mediocre. I won't stay here again.

Beautiful
Nice and comfortable
