Poor experience overall

I stayed over the busy new year period; but, for the price charged for the room snd my stay, the experience felt more like a factory or a busy airport than a 5* premium hotel. This was not a 5* experience. The bedroom had been cleaned before arrival but not checked - I discovered damaged curtains and the body-wash bottle was empty in the shower. It took an age for my luggage to be brought to the room. The front desk clerk at check out was mechanical in her attitude. Poor experience overall - lacked any personal touch.

Weekend getaway

Really spacious and comfortable room. We have stayed many times as good choice of food and entertainment options on site and nearby. No need to drive anywhere once parked.

I would like to give a big thankyou to all the hard working staff members that help make this hotel run. The restaurant staff, the house keeping staff the engineering staff the maintenance staff, all such hard working people. I would like to mention one name Mr Aye Min, this young man was so helpful and kind. Everyday he would check on the room, to see if we needed anything. He did a great job cleaning our room. It's just made our stay comfortable. Now let's get to the food,,,, absolutely average, breakfast was nice, as you would find in all hotels. Lunch and dinner where Big disappointment. I stayed for 10nights and I could honestly say I only enjoyed the food for 4 nights. The chef wasn't very approachable because I saw him having a discussion with a German customer who was also complaining about the food, the chef was very rude with the way he responded. The kids club, the Waterpark I would give 10/10.

Avoid!

Food selection is poor throughout the day. All inclusive package runs from noon to midnight only. Icing on the cake: would not let us bring a nanny during daytime unless we paid for her access (as if she would use the pool, beach, etc). Manager threatened to call police over this. I have never felt so unwelcome at any hotel.

I had taken a all inclusive plan for this stay. The drinks were not premium. Asked for a banana for the baby, one oytlet said go to another, another said go to another. Asked for ginger ale at the bar, said it is over and need to get it from another bar.

Overall good hotel, with some strong downsides.

All the beers you will drink here will be hot, you can’t get an ice bucket with the beers, even by paying about 100 usd per day for each family member on the so called all inclusive package - it is all inclusive with no food options in the pool or bars. Also, people o. The bar does not know the ingredient quantities for the drinks, which means you get a different flavor on each drink. You can’t get a beer, drink or even soft drink before noon time. This means you will get up early to try to get a chair by the pool or beach and till noon you can’t have drinks for the usd 100 (the so called all inclusive). So enjoy your time on one of the strongest hot areas of the planet without drinks till noon.

Not a 4-5 star hotel

The hotel is okay if you are just looking for a cheap getaway, but from a 4-5 star hotel I expected better things. The quality and choice of food and drink was really poor. If I had known then I wouldn’t have paid for all inclusive as it was a massive waste of money. All the bars and entertainment close early too which was disappointing. It wasn’t dirty but I wouldn’t say the hotel was entirely clean either. Table service is slow at all food times and plates/cutlery still wet and felt unhygienic.

Food quality was poor at breakfast & dinner and limited options. Restaurants staff aren’t professional.

We opt for the 'all-inclusive' package, however, was very disappointing. Very limited options for drink and eat. Also, the food offered was average. I would not recommend.

the hotel is huge and nice to stay in, my only feedback was regarding the breakfast as it was not as it should be! the pool temperatures was controlled while the water at the kids water park was extremally cold!

Great property for families and kids while retaining adult only areas for guests who don’t come with kids. Good sized rooms, excellent staff and plenty of activities for everyone. This resort is my and my family’s top 2 destinations in UAE. However, there are a few small issues that I noticed. I got the impression that some (very few) facilities are struggling due to their age and with the huge influx of guests. Toilets near the pool and Pirate ship splash pad were clogged one day. Splash pad showed signs of wear and tear. Kids club has limited options and also needs a refresh. Breakfast options for vegetarians was limited. But these are very small issues and overall the resort facilities and staff are amazing, among the best I have experienced in UAE. Highly recommended!

The property is outdated and few amenities inside the rooms. Our bidet in our room is rusty and we are so scared to use it. The TV was an outdated one, the air conditioning was too noisy as well. Didn’t sleep well and the pillows in our room are not that good it flattens all the time. The buffet if you are on a all inclusive has fewer selections, same set of appetizers everyday no fruits such as blueberries, and other berries. Better to choose the ultra inclusive which u can eat everything. I was so totally disappointed since it was our first time here. It did not met my expectations at all since it was nice on the picture.

Large resort with good family options

A big resort with lots of beachfront and plenty to keep the kids occupied. Rooms are okay with good space and all the basics. However the Hilton TV system is terrible and when it actually loaded we were unable to connect any devices to it from the built-in Hilton menu. If you've got a Samsung TV remote at home, bring it with you and simply use the Screen Mirroring built into the actual TV OS. Each night we had to register with the front desk about noise complaints for the guests upstairs and although this can happen anywhere, a good hotel knows how to respond quickly to resolve the situation for guests. Here we had no luck and the front desk didn't do anything and was very disappointing. So lots of good with the trip, but unfortunately lots of bad and wouldn't stay there again (given so many competing options next door and nearby).

Excellent, is the only word I can say about our stay in the resort. Facilities are nice and elegant, family friendly, rooms comfy and clean, food tasty with many options and the best part...genuine kind and nice people taking care of any guest request. Plus the Colombian singers at night time doing and extraordinary job !!!

Started off really rough but after a day, we made our stay exciting. Thank you very much.

Booked through hotels.com with breakfast, nobody offered us the bite standard packages due to that. In the last day of my staying I noticed I would pay much less with the all inclusive packages that are offered to guests, but I had no information. Resort is full so you do not get a personal treatment. The amenities are nice and great quality. However, I felt I so ended more than the value I got as I did not have any packages.

Even you upgrade, you will not get what you paid for You need to “fight” for your rights Food is terrible and not fresh. Hotel doesn’t worth 5 stars for sure and it one of my worse experiences.

We loved our stay at DoubleTree. The family had a lot of fun. The check-in was easy and quick. Finding the rooms was a little complicated, but one of the staff helped us out. The rooms were massive, totally worth it. Everything was pretty much up to the mark. I had 2 issues though. The light and shower situations were a little too complicated. I felt like I needed some instruction as it took a while to figure out. The property was amazing. There's a lot of activities to do for all ages. The water park was the highlight. The kids and adults enjoyed it alike. The breakfast was amazing. There was a lot of variety to choose from. The staff was very helpful and the live stations were abuzz. The checkout process was very simple and quick as well. All-in-all, an amazing experience. Will certainly go back again

I liked the hotel and its good location. Facilities are convenient. However, it was too much crowded! Most of other guests were on All-Inclusive package and plenty of families and tourists (mainly from East Europe), which made the environment everywhere noisy and crowded!

Cleaning not up to standard

Amazed to come and find 3 dirty towels, stained with blood, as we check in. Unbelievable. The hotel is understaffed for the amount of guests they have. During breakfast, 2 mugs were dirty also. The pool and beach facilities are great, but those 2 main things about cleaning makes me not want to come again

40th birthday staycation

Overall experience was great. The facilities are good and the pools are amazing. I would like to give special thanks to Rohit from reception, Vino from Marjan restaurant and Irfan from concierge for making my stay extra special. I want to also thank the housekeeping for adding a little birthday decoration upon my check in. Would love to be back again.

Property could not manage the volume of the quests: 1. No towels at the pool for 4 days if you come at 10.00am 2. Food orders at the pool take approx 1h to get it 3. Dining options are poor, both restaurants were fully booked for 4 days even prior our arrival to the resort. 4. Buffet dining is very very average quality food 5. Breakfast offering is very limited and not worth the money. 6. Arrived at 15.00 the room was not ready. Overall quite disappointed with my stay, was staying in this resort 6times and this one was very disappointing.

Not a 5 star experience

Whilst the facilities are good, service and the overall quality of food and bev are substandard for a 5 star. Housekeeping is poor and don’t react. House cleaning put 3 towels in a room 2 days in a row even after highlighting it. Eating in the restaurant is not good. Tables aren’t cleaned timeously and getting any form of drinks service is a challenge. Many cool drinks are flat with no gas and cocktails are not made correctly. Food quality overall is on a 3 star level. Was told to wait 1 hour for a plate of fries as the hotel was busy serving brunch. Seems not all guests are treated the same. On checkout not all our stuff was collected from the room and eventually needed to go back myself to collect.

Check in experience

We decided to go on weekdays to avoid crowds and we're surprised to see the queue at Check-in. All check in staff are trainees and took forever for each guest. We finally managed to check in around 4.15 pm after being in line for an hour, and then they tell us our room was still being sanitised and would take another hour! So by the time we got to the room and got our luggage, it was 6pm. It was like we changed and got to the pool but everything closed within 10 minutes. Highly disappointed. The entire day wasted for my super excited kids! At that time the Check in lady told us that we would be able to get a late check out if we asked on the last day. Sadly, on the last day, the same lady refused saying they needed the rooms as expecting weekend crowds. Very disappointed.

Good feedback

The stay was good .. Ram from the Pool areas.. one server and another life-quart were really the amazing supportive people.. Overall, the facility was too crowded though the Covid restrictions were in place but could be more cleaner

Comfortable

Very friendly polite and efficient staff.. we had some issues with electricity and air-conditioning in our room - it was promptly attended to and set right. The Italian restaurant (Vespa) on the property was very good : served excellent food and wine! Breakfast buffet was elaborate, had great variety of good food :) Wish, they would expand the in-room dining menu as well… it was very limited, and not so great in taste also.

The property was great, no issues and it was clean. However, the lobby, the buffet restaurant were extremely crowded. At time, there were more than 200 in the lobby. It was very loud with children running up and down the lobby, balloons popping, children screaming.........it was very hectic. The buffet was just as loud and crowded. If you looking for a quiet location, this is not/not your place.

Great Staycations before Ramadan 2021

Had fantastic staycations. Staffs are friendly and helpful esp. David (Waiter from Lounge Bar). Comment only is there is no free wifi in the room but in public areas, there is accessible to wifi.

The Resort only has open shower facility...

We booked half board, Breakfast was good with lots of varities, dinner food was terrible as food combinations were lacking authenticity, Room was nice spacious, we booked king bed with sea view n balcony. Most disappointing things were, there is no shower or changing facility for whole resort except rooms and all pool temp were bit hot for starting summer. So think twice if you plan to stay longer after checkout.

I would recommend any one that thinking on a hotel in RAK to chose any expect this one, 1- towels is torn 2- tissue box is empty 3 - dust all over 4- floor not cleaned well Poor management reaction (assist manager) to complaint , even no sorry ! 5 Try to enter room while your family inside ! 6- no sign fir don’t disturb only by asking to have one ! Poor security for monitoring people who is not wearing mask !!!! People walking around without mask !!

Our first room was noisy,we asked for a quieter room and we were moved without any problem. Lovely resort plenty of room, friendly staff. Very comfortable beds. Staff constantly cleaning.

Location near beach was good. Rooms were not clean, stains on sofa and chair, sink drainage blocked, bath tub water drainage blocked , overall not good value for money. Too crowded in period of pandemic,

Nice location, great beach. They should do a better job of contactless check ins. They touch passports and credit cards without gloves and don’t disinfect them upon returning.

Good place for kids, they have enjoyed. But the service wasnt up to the expectations. There was a wedding on the pool, the music was very loud and kids couldnt sleep in the room. Called front desk multiple times asking them to reeuce the volume with no action from their side. Even with basic items like towels, water, shqmpoo and others, it takes ages and multiple calls to get served.

Views offered were fantastic. Location was too remote, too far away from other civilisation. Getting housekeeping to answer the phone was an impossible chore. Not a single time was the phone answered. You have to go through the reception to get someone! Little offered by way of restaurant choices (esp. with the remote locality of the hotel). Had booked and paid for a deluxe kingsize room with a balcony and sea view but was given a standard room instead.

Dissapointed

The room was given to us was not good although i paid 200$ per night. The room was small and there was a motor near the room running all night and we couldn t sleep. The breakfast was normal and it took them 45 minuite to bring us the food.

Was not as per my expectation , feel just name is big but cant give more rating and not to sugest aginst what we paid..room service on peak days terrible not answering phone calls we need to go self and ask for it. Property looks old and not maintained well as per current time. We locked inside room due to old door lock facility for half an hour till engineering team comes and remove lock..No carpet in room..Just have pool for kids to do rides and beach side thats it...Not feel much amazing and No indian cuisine food was available as need to go near by al hamara mall and food court which was painfull again. AT HOTEL food is costly to order..Morning breakfast not so good to have it, suggest take low cost hotel nearby and do day time beach and pool activity as no one is checking at hotel are you guest or not...Rest ok ok..

Nice family vacation

I enjoyed my stay. It was a family vacation and we had a lot of fun. The beach is nice with a variety of water sports. The hotel was really busy with a lot of people not wearing face mask inside the hotel, I was really uncomfortable. The service was really nice and friendly. We only had room service for breakfast And one lunch. Breakfast wasn’t that good but it was a lot of food - worth it for the price. Lunch was really good.

Don’t go now! Too busy, no care, poor service!

This is a beautiful hotel but it was so busy that the staff actually couldn’t manage the customers. There were many many issues, our toilet broke 3xs in 2 days, staff were clearly exhausted and were rude, a fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and so my floor evacuated when we got downstairs, no one downstairs knew anything about it. Check is wasn’t supposed to be into 3pm but from 1pm onwards the foyer and driveway was swamped with soooo many people checking in, a huge line of cars down the road. Food was sturdily expensive. Social distancing and masks was not followed or enforced even though signage everywhere. A stunning place but incredibly disappointing service and standards.

My stay in the Double Tree by Hilton Resort & spa Marjan Island was terrible. First, it took more than one hour to check us in. Then the rooms were not clean. I paid for breakfast, the first day we went down to the breakfast restaurant and the food was not up to the Hilton standards. The second day we did not go for breakfast because they told us that we have to be in the restaurant at 8:00 AM which is too early for a family with kids on vacation. We did not have breakfast and they charged us for it.

A beautiful hotel resort - I’ll be back

I celebrated my birthday with my daughter and granddaughter and chose two nights a bit away from Dubai. We had two excellent clean rooms 1318 and 1319 with a fantastic view to pool and beach. Everything was perfect, super clean inviting pool and a very nice staff. I’m traveling 300 days per year and am spoiled but this hotel was a wonderful perfect experience. Lots of options for eating and drinking. Will definitely use this hotel for weekends away from our homes in Dubai.

Nice and comfortable stay

It was nice experience, we enjoyed the place despite the Coronavirus situation, I recommend it for couples and for families as it has different facilities suit all ages and families.

Very nice hotel but real issue with the restaurant. Restaurant food and service was not at all a 5 starts level!!!! Waiters don't speak English well so I had to keep asking them many times the same thing to get what I want. Price of the food when you add all taxes is too expensive.

the Hotel is great, from the pool and activities available untill the attention and kindness of the staff. what i suggest is to pay a little attention to the cleanliness of the rooms, stained armchairs and rugs, moldy bedding and pillows.

I told the reception it was a special occasion, she booked us one of the worst rooms they had with the tiniest balcony with NO SEA VIEW even though they made us pay for it. Horrible service

Can be much better

Guests in the room next to mine were shouting and having fun loudly at 2 am. there were probably 10 gathering on the room, without consideration for the COVID restriction. Security had to come twice to ask them to stop, while the security should have ask them to leave the room immediately. From the hotel, No call, no apologies and no gesture was made toward me for the inconvenience. The hotel facilities are amazing, room are extremely clean and comfortable.

Liked - beautiful beaches, great selection of restaurants, an open gym. Disliked - 1. very bad mold odor in room 3117. Brought it to the attention of the front desk. They could relocate me, but not my colleague who was in a room next to me (3116). Decided to stay. Had to keep the slider door open to let the room air out during the day and night. Very bad mold odor. 2. Service during the morning brunch was chaotic. Took over 15 min on the first day to finally wave down a server to get plates/cups/silverware and take orders. Food quality was good. Second day was more of the same. Had to wave down a server after 5 min to place orders. Orders took a long time. Food quality was good, service extremely lacking. Noticed other customers leaving and one in a heating argument with a manager about the lack of service. A trend that should be assessed. Not hard to improve, just need someone to review the process and manage it so other customers don't have a similar negative experience in what could easily be a fantastic experience.

lovely location, but chaotic, struggling with COVID-19 restrictions. Friendly service, but not great management - lack of beverages, poorly trained staff (not understanding food orders, making errors, etc). Friendly and a nice location - massive venue, so quite impersonal - would recommend a smaller hotel, with higher service levels instead...

Poor service and personal not trained

The room was not cleaned properly: We have found used gloves in the safe and hair on the room phone. Food was fine but the waiters were not trained properly and the dining experience was poor. We were in three: my main course was served first and my friends got the food half hour later. The table was not cleaned, the dessert was served with no cutlery: we had to call the waiters 3 times before getting the spoon and by the time they brought it the ice cream was melted. The guy who was serving the drink at the beach was throwing the lids of the bottles and the plastic on the sand: in front of us. When we asked him why he was doing that he replied that somebody would have come to collect the rubbish.

Staff were fantastic at this difficult time, clear and concise. The beach and facilities were great the only downside being the number of cigarette butts on the beach.

No respect for social distance

Great for a staycation with the family, especially during Covid. Social distancing around the pool and beach, lots to do and nice to feel like a human again.
