This property and the whole staff were awesome! They were so kind and courteous to say the least. Their smiles were so warm and they were always kind enough to greet us each time we encountered them. The rooms were impeccably clean and maintained that way throughout our stay. We will definitely call this place home again upon our return. Thank you again to the whole staff who took part in creating a beautiful experience! Cheers!

Good stay
Staff was fantastic
The staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel was very clean, and my room was decorated in a modern, pleasant way. I would imagine in the summer, a stay would be perfect, but the problem for me was that on this cold winter night, I was very cold in my room, and without extra blankets, or any change from attempts at turning up the room thermostat. Also problematic; I couldn’t turn the big TV screen pictures off, so that I could have darkness in order to sleep. I picked up the room phone and tried to call downstairs with the “care line,” to ask about the TV and an extra blanket, but no one answered. I also tried housekeeping for an extra blanket, but no one answered at that time, of about 8:00pm. Being in a light, cold room caused me to have difficulty falling to sleep. These were the reasons for deducted stars. Otherwise, the hotel was in a good location and fairly priced.
Great Location We loved our stay!
Great location, great service, staff were nice and complimentary, hotel rooms are much smaller than appear online elevators are extremely slow restaurant was AMAZING!! Get a bigger room if you like space but this hotel was !!
Beautifully kept Hotel. New renovations and great upkeep.
For a last minute reservation, it was a great experience
Recent Business Stay
I wished they had a sewing kit available, but they did not. The heat in my room did not work well. They moved me into another room which was fine. I love how it was clean.
Wonderful staff! Very friendly! Great location and close to so much!
Clean room and Friendly staff
Best location ever
Cancelled booking whilst on 8 hour flight
This was a booking placed back in November for January with a pay on arrival option. When we arrived after an 8 hour flight were told there was an issue with payment and they cancelled booked at 3pm (flight didn’t arrive until 7pm that evening). Had same card to be processed upon arrival, checked and there were no attempts made with card issuer. Was left with no alternative options at the start of our holiday and had to find accommodation elsewhere. Manager was extremely rude with no professionalism or empathy. Very poor reflection of the brand and very unlikely to use Double tree at Hilton again.
The snacks at the front desk are mad expensive so just go to the cvs next door. The people at the front desk are super nice and kind:)
Staff were very helpful
I had an amazing stay!
Loved this hotel. Close to everything.
It was perfect. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.
Clean and comfortable. Could use a bathroom door
Clean and comfortable. One issue was the bathroom door--the barn-type sliding style that doesn't really close and provides all the privacy of holding a napkin in front of you. Really, not every new and trendy idea should be adopted. No fan in the BR either, meaning, anything serious to be done, find a restaurant.
New York
Loved my stay. Close to everything but away enough to get away from the crowd. Broadway just straight down the street. Shopping the other way. Great service and nice rooms. When busy though the elevator is slow.
Location, cleanliness No Lobby
Behind the air conditioning there was a huge hole two fingers wide that let in a horrible cold wind, even with the heater turned on at maximum heat the room was super cold, we were cold all night.
Property was extremely close to public transportation and eateries.
Large comfortable room Centrally located. Only downside is there isn't a hotel lobby. But tradeoff was worth it
Great hotel and great location! Only negative was the parking situation, but it didn’t ruin the trip by any means
Okay for the cost.
The bad: The room was a lot smaller than expected, thought the bed was going to be bigger. The room wasn’t big enough for two with two cases each, we had to spread the cases across the room. The lifts were slow as there are only two, so a little wait at times. The reception area was small and busy. The pros: location - opposite Rockefeller centre and super close to Times Square and Central Park. Cookies in arrival and throughout the stay.
Upon arrival, the waiting area was so small and unorganized, the elevators were filthy, hallways to guest rooms were cluttered with actual garbage bags full of trash, at around 1030 pm laundry and cleaning carts blocked hallways and guests were forced to try and slide by them to pass, the rooms are so small two people are not comfortable to relax, multiple random and pulled out wiring and electrical devices laying the the floor of guest room, dirty bandaid in the corner of the shower, shower door did not close and water leaked from the shower onto the floor of the bathroom. No storage whatsoever. Desk chair was broken and legs were visibly cracked.
My Review on my Stay at the Doubletree Hotel
I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Marriott in New York for my birthday celebration on New Year’s Day, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. First, the elevator service was terrible, with long wait times that made getting to and from my room quite frustrating. The issues didn’t stop there—my room’s bathroom had multiple problems. The sink was leaking from the pipes, and the toilet made continuous noise after flushing, which only stopped after I had to fiddle with it. While the cleanliness of the room was excellent, and the hospitality from the staff was commendable, the overall experience left me disappointed. I had specifically requested a room with a view of the city, but the room I received did not meet my expectations. To make matters worse, some of my makeup and hair accessories were damaged due to water leakage in the drawer beneath the sink where I had stored my belongings. As someone who was excited to celebrate a special occasion, I hoped for a seamless and enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, the issues with the room and facilities overshadowed what should have been a memorable trip. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously to improve the guest experience in the future.
Amazing Staff!
We had a wonderful stay here. First, the staff is just amazing. I'm a stickler for good service, and I must say that this group of people are kind, helpful, and lovely. We stayed here the weekend before Christmas and it was super crowded and chaotic with NYPD blocking streets. The bellman and front desk gentlemen were even willing to bring my luggage down the street when 51st was closed. I just can't praise their service enough. Other positives include, great location, good condition, and clean.
The only negative which is a big one- the pullout sofa is terrible to sleep on. Please get new mattresses or sofa’s!!
Overall good service
Very bad experience
We had a great stay! Will definitely stay again! The only cons to this place were the elevator wait times, and it was very hard to get a Lyft or Uber to the area. We stayed for Christmas so that was definitely a factor for both.
Unfortunately, my stay was far from satisfactory due to several issues that disrupted my ability to rest and enjoy my time. 1. Room Not as Booked: I specifically paid for a city view room, but the room assigned to me was not as described. Despite repeatedly going back and forth from the 1st floor to the 26th floor to request the correct room, the issue remained unresolved for two nights. 2. Facilities Not Functioning: The initial room I stayed in had a non-working TV and phone. Although maintenance was sent to address the problems, this caused further inconvenience as I had just arrived from travel and needed to rest. 3. Uncomfortable Room Transfer: On the third night, I was finally transferred to another room. However, the sink in this room was clogged, and the room had a foul smell. I did not request another transfer because it was too much of a hassle to keep packing and moving my belongings. These issues completely fell short of the standards I expected from your hotel, especially considering the cost of my booking. The inconvenience of dealing with unresolved problems and the lack of proper rest during my stay made this experience highly disappointing.
Staff were wonderful
We booked and paid this hotel specifically for the City View! Unfortunately instead we got to stare into the office building windows across the street no view. The hotel reception said they couldn't refund us the money that we paid for the city view because we booked through a 3rd party and not them. Expedia! I contacted Expedia 3 times and all three times was told they couldn't reach the hotel and they would have their 'team' get back to me. Christmas time is the most wonderful time of the year to visit NYC and the view can be breathtaking but it wasn't on this trip. The hotel room was small but it's NYC so that's to be expected. The rooms were not cleaned well. I smelt urine which was probably around the floor of the toilet. No idea how long it's been since it was last mopped? The shower door leaked and soaked the floor. We asked for a blanket upon arrival and never got one. We also asked for extra towels and was finally delivered them around 6:30am as we were sound asleep. I will never book through Expedia again because we literally got ripped off and no-one cares. NYC during Christmas was magical last time I visited. I stayed at The Jewel right next door and had a huge view of Radio City which made my stay all the more magical. I know what I paid for at Doubletree and it could have been just as magical but it wasn't because we got ripped off! Chose wisely!
The Absolute Perfect Location
We were here for 4 nights for the week of Christmas. There is no better location to see the Magic of NYC during Christmas than from this hotel. Just steps away from the tree at Rockefeller center. We walked to every major landmark you can dream of. We will be back for sure.
We had a terrible view into someones apartments next door. There was no water pressure and the towles felt like sandpaper. Our reservation was under a different number than we had and no on but me could find where we had prepaid.
The lack of privacy in the bathroom was an issue for me. Replace that glass in the door. We also lived out of the suitcase, one drawer is not enough space. The service and friendly associates saved our stay.
Location was perfect!
The location is next to Rockefeller Center (Christmas Tree and Ice Rink) American Girl, St. Patrick's which was perfect for our crew. Part of our family enjoys a morning ice skate trip while the remainder of our family sleeps in. We had a suite which was perfect to accommodate our family of four in tiny NY hotel rooms. We also enjoyed the welcome cookies!
The staff was SO helpful and friendly - Naya and Tamia made helpful suggestions and were always there with a smile. The bellman wrestled our parties luggage (9 bags) from temporary storage to the lobby and was very gracious. Can’t wait to go back next year!
This property was surprisingly modern and very well kept! The closeness to major landmarks was phenomenal (Rockefeller Center, radio city, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, fifth Avenue and alot of other places)!!!!!!!! I would definitely stay here again on my return visit to New York!
NOISE 703
Absolutely horrendous room 703 … it is so loud. Could not sleep. The front lobby said it was gonna be a little noise but not like this. Would never recommend staying here. Christmas sleep ruined
This property was conveniently located steps from the Rockefeller Center Tree, Radio City Music Hall and St. Patrick's cathedral. Short walking distance to all the shops on 5th Ave and Grand Central Station. Disappointed with the "city view" room... We were literally looking into the building across the street. Do not pay extra for this option... There is no city view. Other than that, great location. Safe. Comfy beds. Would absolutely stay here again, especially at Christmas!
Excellent service and venue.
Great place to stay right in the heart of NY city. Quick walk to Rockefeller center, Saint Patrick’s, radio city. Not far from time square or Central Park
New experience for me in NYC
Booked it really late and was hesitant since it was available and other hotels I had stayed at during the Christmas season were not. The lobby is REALLY small but considering it is NYC, that did not bother me. The room was clean, but small. Not the smallest I've stayed in while visiting NYC. It was fine for my grand son and me. There really wasn't a place to sit but a small bench at the end of the bed so to relax you had to be on the bed. The bathroom was small but worked. The room was clean and the new linens daily. The bed was very comfortable, Couldn't beat the location as it was wonderful. Our window looked out over St. Patrick's and it was a partial view room. Hotel is right across from Rockerfeller Plaza so super convenient to everything. Would I stay there again? Yes, if there were only two of us.
Clean property and great restaurant. Close to everything
The should explain before booking how they charge when you arrive.
There is no parking available so you have to find your own and then walk to the hotel. This made loading and unloading challenging. Wouldn’t stay here again because of the parking situation.
Staff is great, but overwhelmed/under staffed.
Did not get the room that I reserved even after waiting half a day to get a room. They did store our luggage so we could leave which was convenient but given a queen room without a view instead of a king with partial view. Only room available with a king bed was on a low floor no view and handicapped accessible. We took it as our only option but the person at the sink took a shower with you because there was no way to stop the water. No extra bathmats or towels were provided until I asked for extra. So your socks got wet every time you walked into the bathroom. They did give us breakfast voucher after I asked about our inconvenience but no further action has been forth coming on their part. I also asked for water in our room and it was also not provided. The location is great and bed was decent.
Beds could be much better
Within walking distance for literally everything!
I had to wait an extra hour after check in time to get a room, once I got the room they gave me the wrong one. I went downstairs again to let them know I booked a king size and both front desk employees we like that is a king size as if they didn’t believe me. So the lady had me elk to another room just to show me what a king size bed looks like, I told her my bed is so much smaller than that she still questioned me so I had to walk her to my room and show her and she just said “ok wait here I’ll bring you new keys” waiting in the hallway outside of the room for a couple mins and they other guy came he just handed me the keys didn’t tell me we were moving to a different floor or what room number no one apologized for it. There were other guest complaining about their rooms too and the employees response to everything was just so bad and unprofessional. DONT STAY ON 6th or 7th floor you can literally hear everything from the busy restaurant on the 7th floor and the public restrooms on the 6th floor. I guess the best thing was being close to rockerfeller and the nice lady who checked us out with the cute Christmas sweater.
Hotel was great!
I was thrilled to be greeted by a smile and friendly front desk staff in the midst of a very crowded and chaotic lobby area. (The lobby is VERY small, as would be expected in NYC, during the busy Christmas season.) We were offered early check-in if we were willing to stay in an accessible room rather than a standard. We agreed, and were pleased with the room with one exception, which was not mentioned at any point during the room offer: the room was on the 2nd floor, and directly outside the window was scaffolding, and a pallet of concrete, complete with several construction workers. They were literally eye level with us, directly outside the window. While we did not pay for a view, we did not expect our private space to feel so open. We closed the blackout curtains and that helped with the visual aspect, but this crew began mixing concrete right outside our window around 7am both mornings. They woke us up and there was no going back to sleep with the hammering, mixing, and loud conversations. This would've been helpful information when being asked about a room swap. The early check-in wasn't a favor so much as placing us in a room that would've been unsuitable.
Across the street from Radio City Music Hall where we were going to see the Rockettes. This is a compact hotel with not much room in the lobby and the rooms are a good size for our one night stay. Our only problem during this stay was that the TV in our room was not connected to any kind of service. We let the front desk know once but nothing happened. This was not a big deal for us as we did not plan on hanging around in our room. this location is ideal if you are heading to specific sites so look it up as it may be ideal.
This hotel is perfectly located! Rockerfeller center, radio city music hall, Central Park, shopping and more. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. That being said in our room the shower leaked all over the floor because the doors don’t close properly and our coffee maker didn’t work. Also, the room service from the hotel restaurant was quick but consistently incorrect. We did not receive one order that was accurate.
Across street from radio city music hall. Walkable to rockefeller plaza lights tree etc. King suite very small. Pull out sofa was a horrible sleeping exp. Check in was over 1 hour late. Shower did not drain.
Clean and modern
.
The location in (or very close to) Rockefeller Center was excellent. It's maybe a couple hundred yards from Radio City Music Hall. The staff was very polite and helpful. No complaints there. My complaint is the size of our room. The rooms are tiny; nothing as described online. The giant TV on the wall hangs very close to the queen size bed. Some odd maneuvering is required if you have to sleep on the far side of the bed. It would've been fine - albeit tight - for one occupant, but for two people, the space is minimal. We also had to request room service and fresh towels. The rooms are far overpriced for what you get.
We have stayed at thisbhotel before as it is convenient and has a really good location. Staff is very friendly
Great
Everyone was really nice and I loved that only had to go out and walk 30 steps to view the tree lighting on Wednesday!!
The room was clean, I recommend a king size room for a longer stay. It’s literally right in the middle of Rockefeller Plaza which was perfect for our Christmasy stay. There isn’t much of a lobby but that didn’t bother us. We liked that the lobby has snacks/drinks you can buy. The staff was very nice and helpful. Lastly the restaurant on the 7th floor is delicious and has a beautiful view. Very VERY happy with our stay.
Excellent location! Very nice staff
Great Location would definitely stay again
Excellent location , staff are amazing! Perfect location for Christmas show to see Rockets . Fantastic restaurant but there is no parking lot for cars . Plenty of parking garages .
Convenient and clean! The elevator is a bit slow but other than that we don’t have any complaints
Short visit NYC
The ladies at the front were very nice checking in. The guy at the desk when I checked out was less than helpful. He refused to print the bill. He told me it will be e-mailed to me. Close to a week after the visit I have not seen the bill. The room was small, and clean. Good location mid-town.
Functional obsolescence.
There are no electrical outlets near any mirrors in the room. No outlets in the bathroom, nor any near a mirror in the bedroom area. The outlets attached to the couch did not work.
My daughter had a blast!!!
Very friendly reception. Clean room in an excellent location.
Won’t be back
No washcloths in my room, no chair in the room so couldn’t use the table to easily, one cup for coffee and had to keep washing it, two creamer cups for coffee. Very stingy and definitely needs to allow more in room accommodations for the coffee bar. Very dissatisfied especially since I had just left Doubletree in Nanuet NY that offered exceptional service.
Great place
Thin walls so
Poor
Average
The bed sheets felt like sandpaper and the elevators were incredibly slow. The alarm clock also randomly went off at 3am on my third night.
Great location, great staff and very clean.
This was our first visit to NYC and we wanted to be in the heart of it all to make the most of our time. This hotel definitely delivered. It was the perfect location and was a walkable distance to so many spots like Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, Central Park, Times Square, Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, etc. The hotel was clean, the room was updated, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel.
Had generators running outside our window at 1am -3am, called front desk and they said there was nothing they could do
For $500/night you would expect that: Your room would be cleaned, in 5 days they cleaned once. An elevator that doesn't take 5 minutes for every use, there is no service elevator, so staff is using to load and unload. A shower that doesn't flood. Even if you hold the door shut it is still a mess. When discussed with staff, they said, yes we get complaints, but not enough to do anything about it. and they would not fix it. We used all towels to mop up. Oh, did I mention that they didn't clean daily?, They also didn't bring towels or replace coffee used. When ordering a car they had a service that didn't know how to get to the Stanton Island Ferry. Missed start time! Had food delivered but front desk couldn't be bothered to let us know it had arrived. There is no lobby and rooms are tiny, even by NYC styandards. The two stars are for location only, which is excellent, but there are many better options. Don't say here !
Wait time to long for elevators. Showers leak. Rooms small
Incómodo. Poco espacio. Paredes delgadas. Mucho ruido.
Loved everything about it !! Close to all my favorite stores
The location is perfect for exploring New York, but the hotel left a lot to be desired. Check-in staff seemed generally uninterested. The rooms are small, slightly worse for wear, and super noisy! I was on the third floor and barely slept as staff were constantly accessing the housekeeping cupboard throughout the night, and then the air con/fridge kept kicking in every hour in an excessively noisy way. Other floors might be better, but the third floor isn't the one!
I had a broken arm and they upgraded me to an accessibility room without having to ask. Front desk was always super nice.
It was ok
Room was extremely small for an upgraded purchase. Most of the outlets in the room didn’t work, furniture was falling apart. Smell throughout the hotel and elevator was similar to that of sewage
Great stay and location
Really convenient location, a 2 min walk to 5th avenue and 12 min walk to Central Park! Broadway and Times Square is a 15 min walk away. Magnolia bakery and halal guys are also around the corner. Room is quite spacious and very clean. My only gripe is that hotel slippers are not provided. Other than that it was a great hotel to stay at and I highly recommend it!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel looks amazing and was very clean. The staff was very helpful aswell. It’s only a few minute walk to time square.
The room was regular. bed was uncomfortable. I paid 1600 for 2 nights definitely not worth that. They put us on the 2nd floor. So our city view was not a city view. The breakfast was decent. I had to ask for their famous cookies if not they would have never offered it. They had them hidden under the desk. All in all never would stay here again
Adequate for our needs
The room was a little small. The bed was supposed to be a queen, but it was more like a full but it was comfortable. Service at the check-in desk was professional and courteous and efficient.
Rooms are too small. No room in the closet. To small
This hotel should be rated no higher than two stars, if not lower. The lobby feels extremely outdated. Although I was apparently given an upgrade, the room was terrible, dark, dirty, and with old furniture. I've noticed that when booking through Expedia, you often get assigned the worst rooms. Mine was on the 7th floor, by the restaurant, the hallway was dingy, dirty, and loud. It was also right next to the kitchen, which caused a lot of noise late at night and early in the morning. The front desk lady was rude and unprofessional. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in NYC.
Room was on a floor where a lot of laundry deliveries are made so was noisy most of the stay.
Excellent property—very small room but clean, comfy, and convenient!
It's a great location! We stayed here to see a show at Radio City Music Hall and it was amazingly close. We loved how close it was to food options at Rockefeller and shopping as well. Would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved our stay here! Such a convenient location to all that is nearby and a few subway stations in walking distance. The rooms are small so be mindful of that with luggages.
