I’ve stayed in Hilton branded hotels numerous times, so know what to expect in terms of brand standards. The hotel is in an excellent location, the staff were polite and friendly and the room attendant was thorough. What let the hotel down is the lift service which was terrible. For a hotel with 44 floors, all 3 lifts should always be in service; when there is a fault, the lift contractor should have a strict contractual SLA in place for repair. Guests lost a lot of time just waiting around on the lifts. I was on the 37th floor and so taking the stairs wasn't an option unless there was an evacuation. Also having no complimentary bottled water in the room was a surprise.
Good
Very nice place to stay, good location in the Financial District. Rooms seem fairly small, but okay for a person traveling alone. Elevators are painfully slow.
Only two elevators were in service and we constantly waited 10-15 minutes to catch a ride up or down. Not really possible to carry our bags up 30 flights of stairs.
Elevators were still a mess as as of February 2025. Staff was nice and room was clean though. And price was decent as well.
Awesome stay in a great location. Staff was amazing.
I would stay again
The elevator situation is still horrible, you gotta wait way too long for it to come. The TV remote control wasn’t responsive half the time. The shower drainage wasn’t good, water kept pooling up. The front desk staff could have been a lot nicer. I have interacted with much nicer staff at small B&Bs and motels. Only good thing was that they did housekeeping on my second day of stay, without any request.
Good place
Terrible stay. Three elevators for almost 50 floors worth of guest rooms and one was broken. We were forced to walk down 40 flights of stairs twice over the course of our trip (SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, arguably the busiest tourist days of the week). Elevators can take up to 25 minutes to show up and when they do, they are jam packed because it seems the entire building is also waiting a very long time forcing you to give up and take the stairs. The staircases are slippery and steep which was also extremely dangerous. I left NYC with a pulled muscle in my leg due to being forced to walk down 40 flights of stairs with my heavy luggage in order to make it to the airport in time. Staff is well aware of these problems and gives us nothing but attitude about it and one mentioned “I didn’t make the elevator” so yea, they give zero cares in the world and even when you write reviews they respond with stock template responses that they cut and paste from a customer service handbook. I’d rate this negative 100 out of 10.
Nice area
Great hotel & friendly staff.Only downside is their elevator system.
They have 44 floors and one working elevator. I would avoid this hotel unless you don’t mind waiting 10 mins to get from your room to the ground and vice versa.
Great stay
Perfect location and room!
Staff was very nice before my stay and during. Vinetta and Hopton were great.
Hotel is very nice. Only issue I have is the wait time for elevator upon check in is long and it isn't on lobby floor so it's a little uncomfortable.
The elevators don’t work.
The elevator didn't work all 3 days I was here. Had to walk up and down 22 stories every day. Other option was to wait for the remaining single elevator serving a 30 story building, which would be 20-30 min of waiting.
Good experience, only downside was elevator which was a long wait consistently
The elevators are limited.
It is centrally located to the downtown area with a lot of options
The wait times for the elevators are completely unacceptable.
Start feeding for my children.
Nice spot
Elevators are slow
Near to the ferry, big winds at night . Loud noise at sight . Others is fine . Will be here again .
Very clean
Did not the elevator wait way to long had to plan ahead for the elevator wait time!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for the price
The hotel is simple with all the basic amenities like gym, a lobby with snacks and a restaurant in the first floor. Rooms are not noise proof so you will hear your neighbor if they are not quiet. However, the hotel is well priced and you will not be disappointed if you are looking for a good place to sleep comfortably.
I’ll be completely blunt and honest the hotel service was not bad at all, it was just the limited amount of elevators that were available. There are only 2 out of 3 elevators available and the third one is primarily reserved for staff! Given this building has 40 floors, that’s a very small quantity especially given the size of the elevators themselves is quite small. Something to consider before booking, especially if you have your room booked on the upper levels!
Hotel is fine, elevators are terrible
The hotel is fine, but the elevator situation is terrible. The hotel is 44 floors, with 3 small elevators. During my stay, I never saw all 3 in service at once. This created huge wait times for the elevator. We would typically wait 5-10 minutes in the lobby for the elevator, and every time we left our room, we ended up taking the stairs to leave (17 flights) as the elevators were always full and we couldn't get on. If someone struggles with mobility issues, this hotel would not be a good choice.
Place is nice, plenty of restaurants to chooses. Dislike when you sleep it is loud sounds like a there turf hanging the building that’s the sound of it. Is hard to sleep when you light sleep.
Really enjoyed our stay in the double tree Hilton. Service was great and the location was even better. Clean and safe.
Un lugar muy accesible y todo muy bueno. Regreso .
The elevator time on Sunday- the day we checked out- was extremely long. we waited over 30 mins to get on the elevator to leave. the stairs were not an easy option because we were on the 33rd floor. not everyone can walk over 30 flights of stairs to exit. this is a dangerous fire hazard and a huge inconvenience to wait for 1 elevator. this needs improvement for sure. I was told it was over 200 check outs on Sunday February 16 so a huge amount of people waiting and using the elevators.
The elevators are not moving while you stay lol
Quality place to live
Great place and wondeful staff !
Get those elevators to work!!!
I liked the location. The room is a little rundown and you need to set off some time to wait for the elevator, on check out day it took 20 minutes to get a elevator.
Recently stayed a night at this hotel and upon arrival was greeted with a long check in line and long line for the elevators. The staff was kind and rooms were clean, but the lack of elevators are enough to make me not stay there again and to not recommend. With over 40 floors and 3 elevators, getting on an elevator or to even stop at your floor is a struggle. Never in my life have I witnessed such a process to get a hotel elevator and I frequently travel for work. I feel bad for the poor staff getting between floors because it’s a nightmare. My boyfriend and I ended up walking down 30 floors on our way out since we waited over 10 minutes for an elevator and nothing…feel bad for anyone with luggage, small children, the elderly or anyone with a health condition because good luck.
What everyone says about the elevators is legit. You will wait. I got room on lowest floor possible just because of the reviews and it worked out well. Did get charged extra because I linked to my Hilton honors? But it was taken care of and I was reimbursed. Other than that… clean, people were friendly and liked location.
Elevators are slow at peak times.
The staff were very helpful and understanding.
Parking is so far away so be prepared for a nice long walk with your luggage because there is no valet. Also the elevator down button was not working on my floor. The elevator passed us several times before I finally hit the up button and it came. Also, the shower glass door was not clean. Good location though.
It was a nice place to stay for a short trip. The fridge didn’t work and that was kind of annoying, but it was super close to two subway entrances. Staff was friendly and check in was super quick and easy. It is really far from things though, so just be mindful of that other than that the hotel itself is great
Very clean and everyone was very friendly definitely coming back 😊
Great affordable option downtown
.
The staff had a lot of hidden rules and fees that were not listed on their website. The staff was rude and was not professional at all.
For our first time to NY this was a nice place to stay
There was trash in my room when I came in. It looked like someone had drunk the water bottle that was meant to be left for me and it was near empty laid out on the floor. Some of the hand towels had brown spots. And the sheets had grains of dirt
elevator is big problem, need wait 20 mins
Comfortable
Great hotel in a great location!
It was a great location and very quiet. Got great sleeps despite being in NYC. The elevator was a real problem. Sometimes we waited for the elevator for 15 minutes.
I went here for my 21st birthday! It was a great stay. The bar/ristorante on the first floor was wonderful they even gave me free birthday shots and the staff was great. Across from the hotel there is a place called Toro Loco 10/10 go before 6pm for their $12 tacos and drinks for $10 it was great. I will say that the elevator does take time to get you but just plan for the wait or use the stairs if you don’t mind walking. For checkout MAKE SURE TO PLAN TO LEAVE AT LEAST 30/40 minutes before if you have luggage. The elevator took 30 minutes or so to get us but we understand there are 44 floors and everyone is checking out at the same time. I don’t really mind as I knew this from other reviews but yes recommend and will be back there soon.
Our stay was good the only issue was waiting on elevators.
The stay was great and so was the location- only 1-3 minutes away from various train stations. The hotel is in between The South Street Seaport and Battery Park. There are many great eating spots. The only thing that was a drag was the hotel elevator because of the long wait, especially if the room is on a high floor. There were only 2 elevators working and on the morning of check-out, I waited 30 minutes for an elevator from the 37th floor. During that time, 2 carts stopped at my floor for pick up but no one was picked up from how packed they were.
The service provided was excellent
Solid for a short stay in NYC
Convenient location, updated rooms; great price.
The room was clean and well maintained
All ok
Great place
Only con is the elevator.
Rooms are so small for 2 double queen size beds with 4 people!
Overall stay was good, would give 5 stars if you didnt have to wait so long for the elevator.
Great place.
Excellent location if you prefer to get away from the rush and noise of midtown. Very conveniently located and friendly front desk staff
Excellent
Have been to Manhattan 5 times this was the best hotel out the 5 trips everything you need to enjoy your trip you will find here only issue is the wait on the elevators going to have to wait on them
I loved it
Loved that I was greeted with a warm cookie when checking in. The elevators were a pain though as they would often take forever. I also only got hot water in my shower one night, the rest of the nights it took about 5 mins to warm up and even then it just got warm and not hot, which was really tough in the January winter! The room was decent, though the nightstands were full of dust. Cleaning people respected the Do Not Disturb sign and did not come in to clean-which I appreciated. Hotel it close to bars, coffee shops and the charging bull! Perfect place to stay.
X
All great except the elevator
Most everything is great about this hotel with the exception of the elevator service. I love the quiet location, reasonable price, and easy access to many subway lines. The Italian restaurant at street level is quite good. Ask for a room on lower levels if you're willing to take the stairs. Elevator waits can seem endless.
Excellent
Close to subway and comfortable hotel
The location of the hotel is fantastic. You can reach the subway in 1 minute. The rooms are comfortable and the staff polite. The elevator situation is a bit chaotic because they have just 3 working elevators for all those rooms, but we were lucky and didn’t need to wait much. Reception is in the second floor and I recommend to just walk through the stairs on the left hand side if you can to avoid waiting for the elevator. We could see the empire state from our room which was surprising.
Everything was great except having to regularly wait 10 mins for an elevator. Being on the 24th floor does not make the stairs a viable option if you have bad knees!
The staff are amazing! And the rooms are so comfortable! Such a nice hotel!
Everything is great except LIFT (elevator) waiting time. Every time there is a line for the elevator. Waited for around 15 mins one evening to get to my floor.
15 To 25 minutes waiting in line for an elevator is not acceptable ... cashier in the restaurant was very rude.
Staff was helpful! Elevator well, ugh! Too long of a wait! Restaurant was very good, but pricy!! Heater extremely noisy. Sounded like mice scratching, yuk! I would definitely return!
Great little place
I've been here quite a few times and have only one complaint, the elevators. You have to wait a while for them.
Super Place to stay in Downtown NYC..
I’ve stayed here before and the services remained excellent. I’ll do it again..
never back again
Very comfortable.
The elevators suck
They need a better lift system. Only 3 for 66 floors and 1 was not working was a bit disappointing.
NO PARKING SO I LEFT HOTEL AND WENF HOME
I stay everytime in Belgrade and am never disappointed!
It was great
1 elevator - long wait times - room was ready late
This was a good stay for my friend and I. There are things that could be better for example the sound between the rooms was really poor. Walls are paper thin. Check in was smooth however I wasn’t offered my arrival essentials nor was I asked about my Hilton membership which had they’d done I would’ve been offered them. I did appreciate their efficiency in adding my guest to the reservation. Nice convenient space, the elevator issue wasn’t as bad as people had let on, and the rooms were clean. One suggestion is that the daily cleaning could be at a more appropriate time.
Elevators could be better.
Hotel was nice and clean, staff was helpful and friendly. The parking isn’t great, but I mean… welcome to NYC. Love being close to Battery Park.
It was a good stay our only problem was the heater in room worked poorly and we called for service and it never got done
.
Great value and everything you need!Plus cookies!
Cookies are awesome. Hotel is amazing value for price. The staff are awesome and very helpful. Hotel has everything you need and cleaning staff does a great job too! It’s a great hotel when your company is on a cost cutting mission. Elevators can be a bit of a wait sometime.
Everything was great! The only downside would be the wait at the elevator but the stairs were always an option
