Likely my last stay here
Firstly, I appreciate times are changing in Turkey with regards smoking, but it seems the hotel has always been relaxed about it. This time however I received a fine for "evidence of smoking" and that the room would require “enhanced cleaning”. Which seems to consist purely of the existence of a packet of cigarettes. The next thing that happened this visit was I invited someone over to the hotel. A Turkish person. This person has visited me every time I have been to the hotel and never had any issues. On this visit however after going to the room we received a knock on the door only to be confronted by someone from the hotel late at night demanding ID on the basis that “they didn’t know if she was an escort”. She isn’t an escort of any kind. When checking out I questioned both these situations with whom turned out to be the manager. I was stonewalled on both issues, payment was demanded repeatedly, and apparently the ID check was “because they need to know who is in the hotel” because it’s no different to been asked for Id at check in which isn’t what was said at the time at all. Not impressed.
Great place to stay
The hotel was fine, our room was a bit old, with a weird layout and could use a refurbishment, but I do get the sense that this is the case for many of the large hotels in Istanbul. The hotel had a roof terrace that looked great, although we did not have time to visit. The gym was the best hotel gym I have ever seen - really spacious and well equipped. It even had a reformer bed.
Stayed for 4 nights in a junior suite. Room would not go below 24.5 degrees celsius and we were told there was only one temperature for all the rooms. Single lady travelling with 2 small children and even though we complained every day and received reassurances that it would be resolved nothing happened, we just felt ignored. We complained again when checking out which resulted in the team not helping us to the taxi with our bags. Very poor from such a premium brand
Unbelievable hotel, location, staff, rooms, views, everything was great
Bathroom was leaked Cupboard door was not working properly Bed was not comfortable I won't prefer this hotel Not good experience May be this room was bad
I'll be back
I have stayed at the Doubletree Moda a number of times over the past 5 years. This time, for the first time, I have been disappointed. I know the economy is rubbish however at a Doubletree I expect the service to be consistent. A few things: 1. Dragging a broken suitcase up the driveway and the valet was chatting to someone and did not assist. 2. Lunch in your bar/restaurant. Ordered and waited over 30 minutes for meal while people around us were served, ate and in fact left while we were still waiting. In case you were wondering I went up twice to chase our meal and my friend once. Despite this, I will still stay at Doubletree because it is a wonderful property and everyone has a bad day.
Excellent all around
Close to everywhere, amazing staff and rooms, highly recommended
Barakat and Welina reception staff Cooperative and excellent management
Double Tree Hilton Istanbul
Pretty good hotel for price (paid ) & location Great ocean view's , high up
Great family vacation! Highly recommended. Thank you for everything!
Tavsiye etmiyorum.
Very convenient
Highly recommended
Great location, clean room, friendly staff, professional service
Worst stay in Istanbul so far
Amongst our more than 10 trips to Istanbul so far, this was our worst experience to date by far. The staff were not friendly. The room was tiny. They did not change our towels during cleaning, and they did not replace the amenities we used (they did not replace the coffee and tea bags that we used, they left the dirty spoons for the next day, etc.)
This is our 3rd time staying here this time the hotel has been rundown the bathrooms are old and moldy in the shower areas mold spots on and around the bathtub, getting in the shower is a big task, broken bed (they needed to change it ) fridge not working TV not working carpets are stained and dirty will NOT stay there again.
Hotel and the rooms are great. It’s quiet at night. The highlight is the breakfast buffet! It is out of this world, everything is gourmet and delicious. Definitely get the breakfast option during your stay here. Crew is very friendly and helpful. They welcome you with warm cookies when you check in.
Breakfast was really nice and staff’s approach.
Average
Good location but average hotel and an overall disappointing stay. Restaurant food was average and overpriced for what it was. Key cards slow to work in elevators so missed required floor on occasion as too quick to set off. Experience with staff was mixed. Some very helpful and friendly, others appeared to have an unfriendly attitude, almost as if it was too much trouble to assist a paying guest. Very strange attitude for the service industry. Would not choose to return.
Very good
Just one night but an excellent stay. Hotel room very generously sized and supremely comfortable. Only problems are nit-picking: shower / bath getting a bit long in the tooth and could do with some maintenance. Minutes from ferries and the metro.
Worst Hilton in the world
Thanks
Room was way too small , there was nowhere to empty our luggage , our clothes stayed on the floor , no table or chair to sit down and eat , tv was not working all the time and the shower door did not stop the water from escaping, we had to put all kinds of towels on the floor to stop the flooding, expect to pay 50 euros for 2 drinks at the bar ! The room you get is not what they show you !
Beautiful property with great staff
I’ll be back :)
My favorite feature was the pool. It’s small but wasn’t full anytime I was there. It’s in a great location.
Great location. Parking is an issue. Nice clean property with good staff.
Breakfast flies party
Good hotel, but a little tired. It turns out that you should ask for a non-smoking room specifically. My room had an unpleasant smell, but they moved me to a non-smoking floor and even upgraded me. The breakfast is delicious… it's even popular with flies as there are a lot of them, big and small :)
We stayed in a corner room. The price is higher than the other rooms! But the room has a cooling problem. The air conditioner does not cool those windows. It is impossible to stay in the room during the day in summer. There was an air conditioning system that did not fall below 85F, and we called a technician because we could not stay in the room. You can keep it in winter but do not choose these rooms in summer. The room was old and dirty, the shower was broken, and it was a sloppy hotel.
Great!
Everything was good. Service, Reception, restaurant and the guys in the entrance.
I would stay here again.
Up to date and clean room. Friendly and attentive staff.
Great Marmara Sea view and near metro station
Excellent Location and great hotel with motivated and superb staff.
Great location on the Asian side. Easy access to boats, subway, all transportation. The views from water facing rooms are amazing. The hotel is now a little dated, can use an upgrade. New towels would be nice. And the hotel needs to have luggage racks. Every year I stay here and ask for a luggage rack to open my suitcase on; not a great experience to keep suitcase on the floor with all your clothes; but they do not have it.
Very noisy
Friendly staff and great location.
* Staff are consistently not smiling or looking at guests * They busy complaining about work or on their phone * Bathtubs are to high and dangerous. Need walk in showers. I had to go to fitness center to shower unsafe in room * Beautiful facility and great brand but the staff :(
Service was excellent, concierge, chef and front desk staff were knowledgeable and provided excellent services. Room was clean, comfortable bed. Hotel breakfast was amazing. Chef Recep even accomodated my special request for a drink to help with my cold/congestion. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Excellent location. Easy walk to Kadikoy and Moda, to the metro or the ferry.
The staff was really nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean and quiet. Breakfast was also very good.
Perfect location and beautiful room. The service was impeccable.
Very friendly working pool
Everything was very good
Location of the Hotel is very good. Nice and friendly staff.
Poor customer service
The air conditioner of the room was not working and it was neither fixed or my room changed well into second day of my stay. This resulted in having to stay/sleep in a room at 30 degrees Celsius. The concern is customer service or lack thereof where they did not show seriousness to fix the issue.
The rooftop restaurant is a hidden gem with spectacular views of Istanbul skylines and there’s even a small outdoor pool. Walk to ferries, metro, shopping and the lively markets, pubs, live music venues of dynamic and bohemian Kadıköy and Moda. Staff is always extremely polite and helpful. Beds are comfortable and room service is excellent.
renovation needed!
I stayed in room 823. This room is very old and worn out. Definitely needs updating and not worth what I paid for.
Indoor Swimming pool and sauna was closed.
We ordered some food to the room it wasn’t good enough
As usual, staff is always kind and helpful.
Very Convinently Located.... Clean And Quiet
Waste of time and money
Hotel was very good, but I couldn’t get my hilton points although I am an Hilton Hhonors member because I booked through Hotels.com and the price would have been the same if I had directly contacted the Hilton HHonors. Wase of time and money
It’s good location
Not really a 5 star.
Not really a 5 star. Murat at front desk was not professional and mistreated us when we landed on a late flight and arrived at 1 am, last thing you want is a bad welcome, that too to an apparent 5 star hotel. Giving higher reviews only because of others - Balkan is a great conceirge staff. Duvet had stains and pillows were ripped but Cilek at front and cleaning staff were professional and helped address right away.
Close to many restaurants and shopping area
The stay was perfect very relaxing and the hotel team was very accommodating. The addressed our needs Everytime no matter how early or late it was.
Awsome stay Lovely view
Friendly and very helpful staff. The location is perfect, fantastic neighbourhood with endless restaurants, cafes and bars. The hotel is near many transportation options, convenient for exploring the rest of Istanbul.
it was a bad exprience
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The best thing about the hotel was without question Mr İsmail Jamal (Jim) at the concierge. His fluency in English has been exemplary in my interaction with the local folks, even among those whose job called for a good command of English. He also was very knowledgeable about the historical sites and the best way to get to them, eateries with your favorite foods, etc. But, aside from all that, he seemed to get a real satisfaction from helping the guests. We do not recall ever seeing him without his characteristic smile. The hotel met all the desired features on our list. But, there
Very nice hotel overall. Just a couple of things to be improved: the elevators are too slow and if you want to use the stairs they are actually locked ...
Stay on the Asian side of Istanbul
This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the sea. The rooms are spacious and lovely. We had a great sleep and woke up to a beautiful view. The breakfast was terrific.
Bad Nights
This hotel has two great things, one is the location and the other is the good and respectful staff, but unfortunately everything else is old and bad, from the old mattress to the air conditioner and the broken bathroom to the bed that made noise when I moved. I will not go to that hotel again.
Great amenities, location and rooftop pool. Would definitely stay again.
Great location for walking to places to shop Or eat. Food at hotel is great, service was great as well. Made it very easy for an American traveler.
I can’t say enough about this hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely enjoyed every minute is it. The hotel is located in a perfect location. There is a site right behind the hotel with everything one would need, shopping, dinning, caffès. Staff was beyond amazing. Truly a 5 star experience. Thank you Hilton
I don’t recommend this hotel for those how are coming for spending time looking for the attractions of Istanbul it’s far from everything, also the rooms are hot and A/C is not good at all
Room was quiet and bed was super comfortable. Breakfast could have been better with more choice.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress must be very old and needs to be replaced. As for the cost of imported drinks, they were unbelievable expensive; well exceeding the price one pays in New York’s best known hotel bars. What a robbery!!!
They put us in a cab and said it was520 liras to the IST airport. The cab driver try to trick us to pay more and charged750 liras. Didnt have a meter and credit card machine. If we didnt say no he was going to charge us 1100 for another route. There was hardly any trafic and he lied about it. Be careful with lousy transportation the hotel provides it is a con game to rip off the customers
Pros : We stayed in the junior suite and the view was beautiful. The location is great. The concierge was great at recommending restaurants . Cons : My son slept on the extra bed provided and was very badly bitten by bedbugs. It has been such a terrible experience for our holiday. The electricity kept tripping in the room and we were with no power for more than 2 hours in-spite of repeated calls to the front desk. Eventually we ourselves had to look for the electricity box and switched it back on ourselves. Not what I expected from DoubleTree .
Concierge is excellent at recommending restaurants in walk dist and small cab, gives great advice to enjoy local ferries and public transport. Excellent helpful guy JEM really made stay happier.
The hotel is good, settled quickly, the view from the window is excellent, in general, everything is fine
We loved the stay in every way
The staff were extremely nice and polite and willing to make our stay as good as possible in every way. The concierge was outstanding in giving us all the best sight seeing info and at helping out with any questions we had. I am going there again for sure :-) Very nice spa with topnotch sauna, pool and massage.
Wonderful views from sea facing rooms and rooftop restaurant. Spacious and well equipped. Area is in the middle of restaurants and nightlife, seaside promenade. Great hotel option to visit old Istanbul but stay in a neighborhood that is not yet ‘touristy’ but local. Small and large ferries at all times of the day to visit old city and other destinations on the other shore.
I stayed from May 31 till June 3, 2023. First, Thanks to the staff supervisor for upgrading the small room (624) city view to the spacious deluxe sea view room (203) for free. Room 624 was tiny and had a "Junkyard's view" rather than a city view. The first thing I discovered was the broken power outlet in the bathroom. Not a big deal; I used the hair dryer outside the bathroom. The following day, I had a lighting problem. The lights in the bathroom stopped working. I tried to call the reception, but it was giving a busy tone. Reaching number 59 didn't work as well. Eventually, I went downstairs and told the front desk people about the issue. I waited for more than 15 minutes, and no one showed up. I had to go down again and use the F word and inform them the light in the bathroom was not working. It took them another 10 minutes to get me a technician to rest the power. He apologized and explained that the power fluctuation happened and caused the issue. I showed him the broken power outlet in the bathroom. He promised to get it fixed in one hour, which never happened. The pictures of the hotel are way better than the actual physical status. The hotel felt gray. The glass around the tree at the back door was dirty. The entrance was nothing close to the images on Expedia. Plants of the front door looked dusty. Even with the free upgrade, I felt I had paid too much. The last time I was in Istanbul, I used Titanic Port. That was indeed five stars hotel. Also, V bad internet
I wasn't informed about car parking fee on my arrival which caused some misunderstanding with the front desk during checkout
Staff were all outstanding, especially Cem Manglay who helped me find a private Tour Guide for my stay. The room and view of the Bosporus was also very nice.
Very good hotel very clean &location of the hotel in excellent area Recommended 👍
Great location, room was very comfortable, views were amazing, staff was very helpful. Walking distance to Ferry and Bazar. 5 STARS
the location is good but the cleaning is very bad, i staid for 6 days no one bothered to vacuumed the room or even the corridor outside the room
the service was very good
All around excellent place. Location, service, and people are all great. It would be my address away from home.
The perfect location for the area
.
Only one negative thing to say
I've stayed at this hotel no less than 7 times over the years. Always love it. Staff are helpful and kind. Place is spotless. And it's in a great spot. My only negative comment would be those dang bathtubs. If you are an older person (I use that term loosely) they are incredibly difficult to navigate. I went so far as to use the shower facilities in the spa rather than attempt the ingress and egress. Yes that is just me, perhaps others don't have this issue BUT anyone of a "certain age" that has knee, hips or similar issues may wish to look at another hotel.
Hotel is strategic to the shopping area and convenient for commuting
Nice location, convenient to ferry. Rooms are spacious and staff is friendly. Thanks a lot!
The staff was nice people and always helping and I have nothing negative to say
Every thing is good location waise everything good .
Property and view are great. Breakfast might be improved. Generally was great
Smoking and non-smoking
Make sure that when you book it is a non-smoking or smoking floor. In my case, I don't like the smell of cigarettes, and unfortunately, when I did my reservation none of that was specified so I had to deal with the smell of smoke at night. When I asked to relocate us they didn't have the same room I paid for. Everything else was very good. I will stay there again the Asian side is way better than the European side based on my experience.
The staff was amazing
I liked the location very much, but the room with its living equipment was poor
We really appreciate the awesome and comfortable beds in this hotel.
Excellent hotel. Beautiful pool terrace and overall excellent service. 5 minute walk to metro and pier.
Towels are too old to be used basically worn out. Mattress is not comfortable. Breakfast was far from average Turkish cuisine.
When we arrived our room not ready they offer us an other room ( smooking room) we dont acceoted they give us more than 2 hours in labby we beenin air plane for 12 hours...th

Not quite what it used to be...
Looks like age is getting to this hotel. It is still the only real choice in Kadikoy, but it is slipping in quality. The bathroom smelled like mold and or bad water. The big shower head over the jacuzzi tub looked pretty rusty in color. If you stay there, ask for an upper floor. The lower floors will give a bit of street and parking lot noise. Breakfast is overpriced, but the gym is good. The air system makes a bit of noise and doesn't really go to a low flow... In sum, ok for a quick one and walking distance to wherever you need in Kadikoy and Moda.
