The staff was very nice and professional. The restaurant and bar closed to early. When trying to call the restaurant to place a carryout order because I was checking out no one answered the phone. The wait for an elevator was very long most times. I only saw 2 out of the 4 elevators in use during my stay. The neighborhood was less than desirable. There waa a 7eleven conveniently across the street but it did not feel safe. Nor did the area when trying to find a restaurant in walking distance. Because the area is unsafe it wouls be nice if the hotel bar & restaurant offered later hours.
Hilton down
For hilton wqs horrible or the standards are horrible now. Very otdated meaning wallpaper peeling from walls tv kept going in and out, ive stayed in better motel 6 for work. I was told i could pay for valet cash at check-out out, come to find out they charged me at check in when i went to pay cash at check-out
Great property. Near by shops and restaurants. Awesome staff. Room was tidy and clean. Location is central for downtown.
Always the best
Nice and conveniently located hotel. We love how clean the room is and how accessible it is to the museums.
Parking charges, no staff service and dirty surroundings. Would not prefer downtown area next time.
Everything good except elevators taking long time
I wish it had better amenities. But hey can't really complain that is one way to keep the cost down
$300 as a security deposit is ridiculous. Also parking is $50 a day for guests will not come back to this hotel
Busy area, but convenient
The drinking glasses in the room were dirty. Still had lip stains on them. The windows were dirty. Overall, it was pretty quiet, and everything worked great. The Front Desk staff was also very friendly.
This was our 5th stay here. This is first time restroom had issues, sink clogged, shower head looked clogged and dirty, shower wall was dirty. Shower head was lose. On a positive note, staff were great like usual, bed was also very comfortable. Suitcase trolly was hard to locate. But ill return regardless. Its close to my sons apartment.
Very clean, accommodating staff, helpful staff, we are so happy because it is not crowded but peaceful
The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was very good.
No room service, not even for dining.
Over all good
The room was clean but small. We got 2 queen beds and one was against the wall pretty much which made it difficult to open curtains. Service was great. This is my third time staying at this location and I would stay again.
Front desk was not friendly and that was several times with different attendants.
Easy access to areas in Los Angeles
Real close to the Us Bank Tower, walkable distance, 7-11 across the street. Couldn’t ask for more
Staff is alway really friendly. Really enjoyed the service of the bartender and Manager. Very welcoming and professional.
.
Everything was super clean and the personal from the front counter janitor housekeeper and engineering was so friendly and I loved it !!!
The lobby was nice but, the hotel staff needs more training on how to handle different situations and to communicate with customers before moving them from one room to the other without letting them know. And locking them out. Without giving them a reason.
Good location . Service
it would be nice to have more restaurants options open earlier.
Not my underwear
The toilet kept backing up the entire stay. Nothing seemed to fix that issue, but that's not the biggest issue. The biggest issue we had was the day of our checkout. When we were packing our stuff and getting ready to leave I grabbed some underwear that were underneath the bed and I was handing them to my wife telling her here and she with a quick reply informed me that those underwear were not hers.At that point I threw the underwear down and washed my hands, but that in turn brings the bigger question as to whether or not the room was properly cleaned (i.e. clean sheets and blankets that we slept in were fresh or not)
Location is great when you need to be around DTLA. Staff is courteous and helpful. Hotel is nice and clean. Getting Uber rides from the hotel is quick and easy.
The hotel itself is quite nice. However, the area surrounding the property has a large homeless population. While I felt safe on the property, I would not feel safe walking in the vicinity. It was easy to get a ride share service, though.
Easy to find. Nice hotel with comfortable rooms/beds. Walkable to shopping.
Friendly staff with a nice clean and quiet room. They let us check in early without a fee.
.
Good
Staff was friendly and property close to World Series event
This hotel's location is very convenient if you want to stay in the downtown LA area. Right next to it is a plaza with Japanese restaurants and small shops! The front desk, Jen was very accommodating and allowed early check in, which I'm happy with as my parents were able to relax a little. I wish they could offer free breakfast with almost $200/night, other than that everything's great! Would love to stay here again!
Great experience!!!
None to share.
Jordan in the lobby bar was fantastic!
My stay
The room was outdated. The carpet did not look like it had been vacuumed or cleaned recently. The wall paper in the restroom was peeling off the wall.
Big fancy hotel in the heart of everything!!
Great stay and view
The view of the Japanese garden was amazing. I’ll only dock the hotel cause our restroom did not lock and room service took a little longer than usual.
I spend a nice stay in the resort
I loved the hotel itself. The area could be a little sketchy but that’s just LA, it was a lot safer than most areas. My only issue is the parking is expensive, and it is something you’d probably expect to be included with the hotel.
Great stay
Such a great hotel, felt comfy and nice. Booked it for CFG and it was super convenient, definitely staying here next year.
Overall the stay was good, but the area around the hotel is not appealing.
Getting charged $200 extra just to SELF park my car there wasn’t the only bad thing the hotel also only has 4 elevators so the line builds as everyone tries to get to there floor. If you thought you’ll just walk up the stairs to your floor you’re wrong because there are no stairs accessible to do that. Definitely will not be staying again.
Comfy stay
Was able to book here for Camp Flog Gnaw, & very glad we did! Not too far from dodger stadium & this hotel is just around the corner from little Tokyo! Beds were very comfy, & employees were very kind & helpful! Will be staying here again soon.
Perfect for the parade
Tired hotel.
No complaints, would stay again. Very friendly and helpful staff. Otherwise convenient but slightly pricey structured parking underneath the hotel.
The cleanliness
Not a relaxing night due to loud noises. For example, siren from outside the building, people slamming their doors, elevator that is under repair and I got electrocuted. Maybe we will try next time.
The hotel property and staff were great.
Was not great as expected from hotel like double tree
The staff and how quickly they respond to things is great. However, once you’re past the front lobby, you can see that the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. There were missing light fixture at the elevator, there were random cracks and broken pieces throughout the hotel. The bathroom in our room was very old and you can see the wallpaper peeling. It was small too so we were constantly bumping into the toilet just moving around. Definitely not made to have more than one person in the bathroom at a time. Wish they had airport transport but the area was right at Little Tokyo so you can good food to get around the area. Not the safest nor the cleanest but okay if you’re just staying for a couple to few days.
Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and entertainment
Asked for adjoining room with family when we booked room, told we got, but didn’t upon checkin. Room was dirty, carpet not vaccuumed, hard surfaces not wiped down and lacked ongoing maintenance. Hotel in general needed many many repairs. No hot water in room for showers, eventually remedied. Wasn’t given water bottles upon check in, when I asked about getting some I was told I had to be a Hilton honors member - which I am. Front desk attendants always rude and bothered when asked for help.
Awesome time!
The hotel was great, clean friendly staff. I really liked the garden, very relaxing.
Great stay
Walkable to little tokyo
Rooms need more cleaning and mattress was horrible
.
Clean well run hotel! Staff was friendly and professional. Bar area and restaurant were great! Price was reasonable. I will stay here again.
Friendly helpful staff
Great stay thank you!
Great stay! The staff was very friendly, the property was very clean, and the service was just amazing. Rooms are a bit dated but they were comfortable. Great stay!
King room for 2 was a triangular wedge; very uncomfortable. Table with 1 chair. I'm short, but the toilet was practically on the floor. Bathroom not very clean, neither hallways, etc. I reserved thru a travel service that claimed parking was $28.00 per night, but hotel charge $47.00; claiming that they don't go by travel services. Staff was nice, but hotel itself was disappointing for a Hilton brand.
Very quiet, safe & clean.
Very nice hotel! Check in was fast and easy. They even gave us complimentary cookies and waters. Hotel is right around the corner of so many restaurants and shops.
Overall the stay was good. Used self parking and unfortunately got to see a huge roach in the parking structure trying to get into vent which put me off and made me question if there were roaches inside. Luckily the inside was very clean as I would expect from Double Tree. It's downtown so seeing a roach outisde doesn't surprise me. The area around the hotel, let's just say I wouldn't feel safe walking at night but in the daytime it was fine. Little Tokyo was near and we walked there safely.
This place was mid
Happen to be there the same weekend as a bunch of college kids. Had to call the front desk around 3am or so after hours of kids drinking / partying in the hallways / elevator area. We had a corner room which initially seemed fine until we went to use the bathroom. Bathroom layout was wonky and door placement prohibited more than 1 person in the bathroom at a time.
Amazing visit
I travel a lot to Southern California, and if I am in the Los Angeles area, I will always stay at the Doubletree downtown. My checking as always was amazing, I got to the hotel pretty late, but Jenny made me feel welcome. The check in was speedy, and as always the cookie was delicious. Even though Diana M. was not in, she already knew of my visiting and had made arrangements to make me feel welcome. My king suite was clean, comfortable. Beds are amazing. Morning crew at the restaurant Marcos, Maria and everyone else are the great. Always feel I’m having coffee with friends when I come. Checking out was fast, and valet are courteous. I recommend the Doubletree Hotel Los Angeles downtown hands down great hotel.
Best view of downtown LA. Enjoyed my time there
Staff was not welcoming, washroom had mold water clog and not clean. Request for a Manager to call as they were not available. No call so far and it has been days.
I did not like they did not have room service
Good !
I like this hotel because it is close to my son’s place. I do feel safe in the hotel and I like the restaurant as well.
The room was nice, but the bathroom was a little dilapidated and dirty.
It is a great place to stay. Close to all the shops
my biggest complaint is the dead moth that was behind the couch, crumbs in between the couch cushions, and the dirty hand prints that were very much visible on the bedroom windows.
It is a decent property, which is clean - a little dated with spacious rooms. The valet and front desk staff service level was commendable and professional. Unfortunately, the staff at the morning buffet service were rude, unprofessional and left a sour taste. I do hope they will turn around to upkeep the Hilton name and 4 star level.
Very clean but a little dated. The restaurant was great!
The location was good and almost 1mile walk for everything be it local market or metro station
Nothing
Great location right next to Little Tokyo
I loved how this hotel is located in between Chinatown and Little Tokyo, making for dozens of excellent dining options. The check-in and check-out at the hotel are simple. Catching rides via Uber was a breeze. The entire hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast options were awesome. Only thing I didn't like is a gripe, really. The bathtubs/showers are concave in a way that makes standing in them a somewhat precarious task. The porcelain floors are a little slippery too -- so just watch out, youngsters and elders!
Great location, close to three muni lines. Self parking is easy but expensive. The only downside was related to other guests not knowing how to park and almost missing the checkout time having to wait more than half an hour for an elevator due to heavy traffic on the top floors.
Great stay. We will return
Friendly
Great location — near Little Tokyo! Helpful staff.
Asked for combining rooms and requested and was told I available and then got her and no rooms and had to have my daughters on other floors
Restaurant and bar closed way too early, especially on a night after a major event happening in town. Parking garage wouldn’t accommodate my vehicle.
Property was very secure
It’s an OK place to stay if you’re out and about most of the time.
Great Hotel and Staff on the heart of downtown.
Avoid
Honestly, it was rough. Now, the lobby looks amazing. As does the restaurants and general entryway of the hotel. The busted-up and taped-over glass by the main floor elevator to reach the rooms was the first sign something was wrong. Supposedly the whole hotel had been nonsmoking for many years now, but that's a joke. Almost every floor smelled like secondhand smoke of one kind or another. Yes, I did travel around to the floors because I was looking for a working ice machine. Out of over 20 floors, only 3 of them had working ice machines or even signs that tell you where to find a working ass machine. Plus, you can smell smoke whenever the elevator door's open on any floor. When I complained to the front desk manager who supposedly sent security up to my floor to address this, which is kind of a joke. When I went back to the floor I was staying on, I could smell chemicals trying to mask the smoke in the air. That's it. The room was also not clean and not maintained. The hallway light barely worked, and it took three times on and off just to get some sign of life. You can see dirt and grime, and all sorts of stuff in the vents and light fixtures. The carpet was damaged, but again no repairs. It looked like they had changed out the bedding and put in fresh towels, and that was it. How to use Lysol wipes from the front desk to wipe down everything else, including the bathroom door handle. I'm hoping had toothpaste on it and not something else. Gross. Will not be back. Avoid.
Hotel has awful small outside as well as in the room. And also Bed Bugs!!!!!
My room had many weird noises and most importantly the bathroom was very dirty.
We saw Korn at BMO Stadium and needed a place to recuperate. Double Tree was awesome!!! This was the best water pressure ever to relax sore muscles after the show! That, plus a cool, quiet room and a comfy bed made it an excellent stay. Downtown LA can be hard for the faint of heart but our Lyft drivers got us to and from the show just fine. We also loved the cookies at Double Tree!!!
Great sushi places nearby in Little Tokyo. They give you a nice warm cookie for your welcome!
