Very good service, free cookie upon entry which honestly made my trip!
It’s a little noisy on the New Year’s Eve in the lobby. But it’s what expected.
Nice stay
Pretty good
Excellent location!.
Very convenient location. Close to restaurants, underground and Tesco(convenience store). Rooms have refrigerator. Staff very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Rooms are relatively comfortable. This was second time staying here and plan on returning.
An enjoyable stay and great location.
We travel a lot and found this hotel to be very expensive for what you get. The executive lounge was way too small for the amount of people and was very limited in variety. Room service was dreadful. The front desk staff were fabulous.
Great location but tired
The lobby area is nice and staff friendly. However we felt the room was rather tired for the price they are charging and not value for money. The location is excellent, which is no doubt guiding the price.
Friendly and helpful staffs
Very friendly and helpful staffs
Good location to see tower of London and get into city
Great
Overpriced and room decor a bit tatty
Overpriced and I would say Premier In. Rooms are better. Also the hotel or a location nearby has a club and the bass was thumping until late.
The staff at the cafe concierge house keeping , front desk & restaurants all were friendly polite professional & patient . Exceptional customer service . The hotel is good just wish the rooms weren’t so tight . For what we paid the space is very limited . .
Great location, but quiet, nice staff
Excellent location. Froendly staff and lovely rooftop bar.
Amazing location
Well located hotel for Tower of London and the east end
Great location and great value.
Comfortable stay
Nice, friendly hotel in good location with comfortable quiet room. Breakfast very good, would be good to offer a selection of small bread rolls.
There seams to be a communication problem between your front desk and your third party cleaning service.
Verry good
Great
Fine after escaping from the lift
Overnight stay to attend a dinner nearby. Accommodation entirely satisfactory albeit a little dated. Minor criticism is for reception staff to remind guests of the need to check their room card against the reader below the floor level selection panel. We got into the lift, selected the 5th floor and the lift set off, passed the 5th floor and stopped at the 10th floor with the door firmly closed. We were stuck and nothing we did would make it move or the doors open. It was only as I got my glasses out to ring for attention, that I noticed the small sign low down below the selection panel instructing guests to place their room card key against the card reader!
Had to check out a day earlier due to lack if sleep first two nights as air conditioning was not working. Was fixed on evening of third night but felt it was blowing allergens and my chest was tight and couldn't stop sneezing. Unfortunately i had enough and left a day earlier than planned. Shower too didn't work well and mostly cold water. It is a good looking property with good design,, good staff.. good location but unfortunately I a compelled to rate as terrible due to above. Also staff made no attempt to convince me to stay the last night by reassuring they will fix things. They did not even apologise and all the lady said was when I explained my reasons for leaving early that I would not be refunded. I already knew that and never asked either!!
It was just what we needed for our stay in London for a Theatre visit. With some mobility issues it was convenient for transport around, tube, taxi etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Enjoyable stay Good breakfast Great staff
Good location, very good breakfast, perfect rooftop bar with nice views of Tower Bridge and Shard.Rooms are well equipped, however need some renovation. The corridor on the third floor had a unpleasant smell.Good and helpful staff.
Stayed at this hotel for a special occasion (engagement) after paying over 200 pound for the night was very disappointed the room we booked was not how it was described on the pictures and info very small basic considering they state this type of room as queen room also central heating did not work so very cold got stuck in the lift for 10 mins pressed the emergency bell and got no response. We then finally got out notified staff and they did not seem to care woke up the next morning to go down for breakfast and got told this was not included even though we had paid a lot of money for the night overall prices were very high 10 pound for a slice of toast overall experience was not as it was advertised rooms were nothing as they were in the pictures 40 pound to park the car and then got stuck in car park for 25 mins befor someone actually let us out medication bottles in the car park not a pleasant site will not be returning and fighting for a refund
Hotel needs to be updated and remodeled.
The concierge and staff were wonderful. The hotel, however, needs to be updated. The carpet in the hallway looked old and smelled strongly of some sort of freshener (trying to cover up another smell?). Our biggest complaint was the lack of electrical outlets. There were none on one side of the bed so my phone with my alarm had to be on the other side od the room. The only plug in the bathroom was for shavers so we both had to do our hair in the little, poorly lit, mirror in the bedroom area. Also, the water pot for making coffee was hidden in the bottom drawer.
We started our anniversary trip in a different hotel and had such a horrible time after 1 1/2 days we switched in the middle of the night to here. We explained to the night manager and staff what happened and they practically jumped over the desk to help us- they gave us extra goodies and escorted us to our room to make sure everything was perfect. We could not have been happier & have declared we are only staying DoubleTrees going forward.
Staff were amazing, approachable and friendly. Always very welcoming. Room was spacious, clean and safe. Perfect area, will definitely stay again
Great location, great staff
Great stay
Very nice welcome. Hotel is really close to Tower Hill undeground so great location.
Stay was great!
Excellent service from staff when on site. From the front desk to restaurant and bar, all good. Housekeeping and custmomer services were great. I Unfortunatly left an old jumper in room that had sentimental value and did not realise till on way home. I contacted reception, and within a few hours it was found, packed and sent back to me. A measure of a good hotel can be taken, when the service remains high, even when you have spent your money and checked out. Great service!
The room was adequate, it was facing inside onto the atrium so a little darker and compact but had all the facilities such as tea making and a fridge. Everything was lovely and clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a downside as the hotel has a roof garden which is open until 2am Friday and Saturday. The noise from the bar was very loud and I struggled to sleep the first night. Interestingly at check-in she mentioned we had a nice quiet room! Quiet it was not!
Great location.
Great hotel in good location
Great stay. Fab hotel and good location
I stayed in this hotel for one nigth, very small.and should be OK for solo business
The warm cookie at check in was a great touch.
Close to everything
Great customer service
Great service at reception.. arrived at 10:30am and was able to check in!
The hotel is I'm a fantastic location, staff very nice. However, the facilities are old and somewhat dilapidated. Bad smelling drain in our bathroom
Clean tidy big rooms comfy beds lots to do around the area plenty of restaurants Helpful staff and good breakfast
It’s quite tired now, needs a freshen up with carpets looking dirty and rooms looking tired.
Location is great for Tower of London and Tower Bridge. It’s a quick walk to both the Tower Hill tube station and Tower Pier to use the river taxi. It is very accessible and seemingly safe. The roof top bar/club provided great views. Our refrigerator never worked, the air conditioning was spotty, and our TV didn’t work for the first few days. They were doing painting and other work on our floor that may have caused those issues. The bathrobes had make up on them from previous users but we just avoided. The double twin room was quite tight but we tried not to be in the room much so it worked out fine! Would highly recommend based on location for city of London alone. Note: many attractions are not close by (besides the tower) so be prepared to use tube/river taxi or the big tourist bus stop close by.
Everything was great. Rooms are basic but comfortable and the house keeping was spot on. Rugs in the hallways could use some love but otherwise a very nice stay.
Bathrooms need to be updated but overall a good stay in london. It was very close to the circle line for adventures in the city.
No view from window
Chose this hotel as have stayed in this area before. Very close to tube and short walk to river boat transport. Set in small street and surprisingly quite! Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and tidy. Bed very comfy, room has a fridge, we were provided with 2 small bottles of water each day. Only grumble that tea and milk not topped up, but were given extra when asked for. Previous review said there were no usb sockets, but found there to be 2 on an alarm clock!! Overall great stay here and would stay again!!
Na
The property was in a great location, a hotel with both business and leisure travelers. The hotel staff was very professional and helpful however the property is a bit tired. Carpet on the guest floors needs replacement badly. We had issues with our safe and the AC however both were quickly corrected. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it as well.
Great location near the tube in central london but the beds are very hards and the rooms were pretty old. This was most noticeable in the bathroom with low shower pressure and a shoeer door that was very stubborn to open or close. Good sized room but old.
Too Many Maintenance issues
We did not know until we checked in that the hotel was doing maintenance for two nights while we were there from midnight to approximately 4:00 am where there would be a loss of power. On our last night there, we had no fan or AC in our room. When I inquired about it upon checkout, the desk told me they had maintenance issues again, however I was not notified of this via email, text or letter. It was very warm and uncomfortable in our room. If it wasn't for the great location, we probably would have picked a different hotel to stay in for 4 nights in London.
Close to different transportation modes
It is walking distance from Tower of London , near train transportation
I highly recommend this hotel! Very convenient. The room is very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful!
Extremely friendly service, wonderful hotel, in a great location.
Really enjoyed our 2 night stay, everything was as expected and we were even able to check in early without a fee. Nice location near tower bridge and Tower Hill tube station.
I liked the locarion neae the London Tower. The rooms were cleaned and comfortable. The barhroom was small, specially the shower but I managed. We had a situation with one of out rooms were we paid for the breakfast at the restaurant with a credit card but the Restaurant Manager reported the breakfast was not.paid for and they locked my family member out.of the room even when there was a credit card registered for incidentals. That was very uncomfortable and I had to talk to two managers to get it sort out even when it was the restaurant managers mistake, not ours. At the end, they only offered to credit the meal...not the best customer service experience for our family.
Date night
A great stay for our date night. Service was amazing and room service was great. The evening was made extra special as we go engaged, I’ll also remember the hotel for this reason. Thank you!
We always choose this hotel, the location works perfectly for us. Staff are very friendly and helpful, Loads of places nearby to eat. We'll be back again ASAP.
.
Overall a nice hotel with comfy beds , staff are very polite and helpful , the rooms could do with a bit of updating ie usb inlets for phones and laptops , rooms are sound proof though and didnt hear a thing the 2 nights we stayed , would stay again
I loved the rooftop bar and restaurant, great place to hang out and meet new friends or meet up with the one's you already have.
Was good and clean, and very quiet, took 6 hours to get toilet paper and the room service $30 steak was gross.
Located in a walkable area. Staff was super friendly & helpful. Hotel was very clean
Great Hotel and very convenient for Tower of London visit.
Grest location. Staff were very helpful with queries. Breakfast had a good spread. Would definitely book again.
Good
Great location
Very good location for lots of attractions, Lovely staff, very friendly, but did ask for firmer pillows from room staff and never got them, The bar drinks were very, very expensive….breakfast was way to dear so used local pub.
Amazing!!!
It was amazing. From comfort, to the friendliness and professionalism of the staff
Booked two rooms for a family stay. Very convenient and comfortable. Nice place on a great location.
Great place to stay and in the heart of London.
Good location with many things around , great roof top bar with friendly staff
The staff were top notch!
Excellent location near public transit. Loved every moment. Nice workout facility, too. Housekeeping was outstanding and respectful.
Perfect location to ground, underground and water transportation. Immediate proximity. Nicely maintained, clean and very pleasant.
A nice hotel tucked away very close to both the Tube and the Tower of London, great service from the team. I was there on business so didn’t try the food, however the service for coffee in the cafe area was very good.
Great location and smart hotel. The problem was the rooftop bar with a Tower Bridge view, the reason we booked the hotel, was closed for a private event. According to other reviews I've seen this happens often. It was such a disappointment and it would have been nice if the hotel could have done something nice to make up for it. Maybe a complimentary drink at the other bar? We also booked a twin room and they gave us a double. When we asked if we could have a room with twin beds, the staff dealing with it made it seem like we were being difficult by asking for what we booked. I had to say it a few times before they agreed. Other than that all staff were friendly and the beds were super comfy. Bathroom was fine. Real shame about the hiccups.
Really recommend this hotel in London. It's close to the centre and transport but is in a quiet location. The Staff were friendly and very helpful. The roof top bar is an excel way to relax with superb views!
Convenient
I chose this hotel as it included breakfast. This was not recorded on the booking. The staff added this after as an extra charge. The hotel is lovely. Unfortunately on check in the corridor on 2nd floor was very messy. This was tidied shortly after.
Ideal for visits to the shard, tube right round the corner, river boat 5 minute walk away
Everything was excellent, except the fact that we chose that hotel for location and the fact they had a rooftop bar. However, the rooftop bar was closed to guests on two of the nights of our stay due to private parties that had reserved the entire rooftop. Since that was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, we we’re disappointed in the fact that we couldn’t go to the rooftop on two of our nights.
Great stay. Friendly staff
My family and I was vacationing in London. I am a Hyatt member, but was referred to the Double-tree Hilton. While the staff ways nice and we loved the Savage rooftop and being close to the Tower of London. I was very disappointment in the rooms that we were first given at check-in. We were on the 6th floor and it smelled of standing water, wet and carpet was dirty. Our rooms were so far from the elevator and next to the staff work rooms, which I didn’t like. In our rooms we had panels to fall off the wall. The next day we spoke to the manager Princess, and she did accommodate us by moving my family to two other room on another floor. However, it would have been nice if she would of upgraded our rooms to one of the newly renovated rooms (without charge) seeing how it was our first visit to this hotel. Sadly, this is a hotel we will not be staying at upon our return to London.
Great location, nice enough hotel
A nice stay, one of Hilton’s more basic hotels but still nice, service was great as you’d expect. Great location for all of central.
This hotel is hidden a block and a half away from the Tower of London. It is very walkable to the tube and numerous sightseeing places like the Tower, St. Paul’s cathedral or Sky Garden. While you might not get a tremendous view from your room - you can from the rooftop bar/restaurant.
The location of this hotel is amazing. It’s right next to the Four Seasons Hotel, a block from the tube station and across the street from the Tower of London. Even though the rooms could be updated a little, the value for this hotel is amazing based on its incredibly comfortable beds, amenities & location. Front desk agent Heena was very hospitable. She made us feel welcomed and at ease right away. Would definitely stay there again.
My only issue was the shower. I couldn’t get a constant temperature- seemed like it was very hot in the middle of the output, but cold on the outside
Was over charged at reception and staff took £300 out my account which was my spending money for the weekend and told I had to wait 3 to 5 working days for it to be refunded. Tried to open the fridge and a past guests first underwear fell out.
very stingy with room amenities, had to ask for more water and tea bags. unpleasant window views, can see other rooms so keep curtains closed. no mini bar. no soap or toiletries, outdated rooms. plus side close to tube and easy find.
Very nice
The location was great, but the room are plain and basic. After being spoiled in the country side and the coast with flamboyant rooms full of cachet, the dull four wall rooms were underwhelming for the price. But once again, the location was great, a stone throw away from the bridge and tower.
The interior downstairs was nice but once you left the lobby area the quality deteriorated. Hallway to room needs new carpet and new paint. However, rooms were clean once we arrived.
5 minutes walk from Tower Hill Train Station
A pretty decent stay except we were unable to use the roof top bar on Saturday evening. The place was rammed and resembled an unruly drunken nightclub rather than place to sit and enjoy the experience. The tables that were vacant had no seats and were taken by a large group.
