Good hotel, very close to subway, area is full of dining options. Building is old . Ac was not working ist day . No sitting area in the lobby . Has no lobby.
the picture shown on the website showed a nice, bright room - it was small, smelly toilet. Not returning.
Perfect location, lovely evening meal and the staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Front desk associates were friendly and very helpful. Will return for sure.
Great location, spacious, well appointed room and great value
Staff were ok
The check in wasn’t very smooth. The room we got wasn’t very nice with only a small window view of the dumpsters. Additionally it was next to the hotel fitness and we could hear someone using a heavy medicine ball at 10 PM. Overall the hotel is fine, but we’d probably pick something else nearby.
Convient to underground station for travelling & buses at the doorstep. Room size excellent for London. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast had good selection and worth the money. Will definitely stay again.
The staff at this hotel were so great. Arif was one of the employees who was especially helpful. They worked with us to get an early breakfast so we could make our flight and were very helpful at every opportunity. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was good. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The staff went out of their way to make our stay the best. The bed and pillows were great! We will definitely stay here again!
Very convenient and very accommodating and friendly staff
The rooms are updated and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was excellent, the location has great with walkable access to the Metro, Kensington Palace/Gardens, Hyde Park.
Great Hotel and Location
Amazing service by the staff, nice clean hotel in a great location. Tube station round the corner and a stone's throw away from Hyde Park. Staff provided quality service during check and the cookies are 10/10. Will be visiting again the future - highly recommended 5*
Great location welcome hospitality stuff
Very friendly staff and clean room with decent size
The staff at the Hotel are its biggest selling point. The manager and the young receptionist from Ghana were especially pleasant to deal with. Both Gentlemen had impressive client service skills
Excellent location near Kensington Gardens and plenty of nearby shops and restaurants.
Overall enjoyable stay , did everything i required in terms of location and comfort
This hotel was tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful. I found the bed very firm and the air conditioning temperamental. After mentioning these concerns to reception, the staff sent a technician and attempted to soften the mattress with a second duvet. The rooms had good soundproofing from the outside, but unfortunately sound travelled from the internal corridor, so I would recommend bringing ear plugs for a deep sleep. This hotel is just across the road from expansive park grounds and a short walk from a central tube station, which made it easy to access main attractions, while enjoying green space. There is also a hop on hop off your bus stop right outside the hotel restaurant. Overall DoubleTree Hyde Park hotel is good value for money, with a convenient location.
The room was poorly maintained. The pillows smelled of body odor. The shower tile was mildewed. The shower-head did not spray well as it was leaking volumes of water. The desk in the room was stained with multiple water stains. Many happy dust bunnies! The AC worked fine. Employees were helpful if you could get their attention. The front desk would not answer the telephone on multiple tries. Had to walk down to the desk to get help. Employees behind the front desk ignored eye contact, would not offer help, and would not offer to direct me to someone responsible for helping. One of these persons was obviously a supervisor. The restaurant food was not good. The decor was cheap and dated. Food was poorly prepared. The restaurant reeked of old/spoiled fish whenever they fried fish and chips. The restaurant smelled as bad as a dirty fish market. That strong fish smell permeated our room when it was cooking.
Amazing location, lovely staff
Stayed for 2 nights with my mum just for a little fun trip. The location is amazing, there are about 3 tube stations to choose from depending on where you want to go, which are all short walks from the hotel. Kensington gardens/hyde park are literally right there so if you fancied going for a walk and killing some time, it’s great! It’s also very close to Notting Hill. We visited the natural history museum and Kew Gardens, so if you want to visit these places I would recommend staying here since it doesn’t take long to get there from the hotel. I know Kew is a bit out of the way, but we still wanted to visit some areas in more central London so it worked for us (it was maybe 30-40mins to get to Kew altogether ish??). The staff were also so friendly and helpful! We were able to leave our bags before check in and after check out which was very convenient. The room was fairly clean, bathrooms have shower gel, shampoo etc all there which is useful if you were to forget your own. There is AC/thermostat, the AC did get a bit loud if you put it on the highest fan level but we didn’t mind. Beds were comfortable. Hairdryer was provided which is great. Plenty of storage for clothes etc. Kettle with coffee/tea etc was also provided. Quite a big TV with good amount of channels. Overall really glad I stayed here! I would definitely recommend for visiting western/central areas. Would stay here again!
This was a great stay. It was a large room for Europe. We didn’t have a view, but it was comfortable and clean and extremely walkable. The location was amazing. Access to everywhere easily.
Asked for an early check in after being up all night on a red eye flight. But didn't let us check in till scheduled 3 o'clock check in.
Great location
Twin room comfortable bed, thank you.
While everyone coming in after us were allowed to check in before the 3:00 check in time, we were held off and told constantly that our rooms were not ready. What the heck! And we were exhausted. And then the room we were finally put in had a very bad odor and we were moved to another room. For $300 /night, I expect better.
Excellent property. Close enough to several underground stations. Two on the Circle line making it very easy to manage.
The room was pretty basic for a £200 a night room. The secondary glazing was good as my room faced onto a busy road. Their restaurant was 'broken' so my breakfast was a cereal bar and a croissant in a plastic box. Wouldn't stay here again.
Clean hotel. Breakfast was nice! The hotel staff were very nice and professional, especially the lady that worked 6th Sept. She’s the kind of person you want to meet after a long day in the road. Got the queen bed room and felt quite small. Will otherwise recommend!
The hotel was in a brilliant location and the staff were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the rooms were tired, there were several moths and the shower smelled badly of drains. The restaurant was also closed at the last minute, but they did offer to refund our breakfast. Wouldn’t stay there again.
The stuff was really nice and helpful. We like to thank Anastasia for help she provided when we check in.
Booked interconnecting rooms, we arrived early, one room was ready which was great. Reception staff were very attentive. Rooms were well appointed, one room didn’t have a tv remote, the other had an over bath shower, but no strip to keep water in, and bathroom was so compact that you hit your elbow on the toilet roll holder. Rooms were lovely and quiet, great position on edge of Hyde Park, five minutes from Queensway station, and ten to Notting Hill Gate, so good for Central/District and Circle lines. No welcome cookies were offered.
Lovely !
The staff upon check in were friendly, the room was clean and the bed was so comfortable will definitely be booking again.
Housekeeping staff like to party in your room
The drapes in our room were broken-lots of light peeping in. VERY OBVIOUS that the drapes needed repair and should have been fixed or pinned up to appear fixed. The cleaning staff were rowdy, loud and sitting on the stairs chatting on their phones like teenagers. Cleaning Equipment all over the halls. It was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. It was also bizarre as the door across from us remained open at one point for over an hour. Two housekeepers in the room were loud and carrying on. What were they doing in someone’s room-and yes we could see suitcases in the room so someone was staying in it. It made us not want them in our room to clean and tidy up. Further, the housekeepers were cleaning rooms, but left food bags and trays of room service in the halls over night. It’s rude when guests leave dirty dishes and trash outside their rooms-but hello, housekeepers should clean it up when they walk by and we saw them cleaning rooms, but they left the trash in the hall…NOT WELL TRAINED AT ALL. We stayed at the hotel a year ago and this time the hotel looked a bit worn. Knicks on doorways and on walls. (Or maybe because housekeeper’s are partying in the rooms?? Joking, but really, I have never seen housekeeping staff act like this before.) The cleaning staff’s unprofessional behavior would make us think twice about staying at the hotel again. That said, location is good. Price is good. Downstairs breakfast is great.
Wonderful stay and very nice staff!
Very convenient and reasonably priced. Great neighborhood.
The property was wonderful and clean. We spent a lot of time in the restaurant, watching England, play in the Euros! Walking distance to so many places, easy access to the tube and tons of local restaurants and pubs.
Really impressed with value for money considering location and cleanliness of room etc. Smooth check in and were able to check in early which was great. Only improvement could be was breakfast was very busy meaning the buffet was running out quickly and there weren’t any clean tables when we first turned up but I appreciate we went at peak time! Still a good breakfast and selection for the value.
Great location
Visiting the V&A Museum. Hotel great location and plenty of restaurants and pubs around.
Very helpful staff and was a pleasure staying there. Great location right next to Hyde park with transport links all around.
The air conditioner was a loud temporary unit with an exhaust pipe that went outdoors requiring the patio door to remain open all day.
Close ti trains and bus No tv for 48 hours
Located across from Kensington Park and walking distance from many shops and restaurants.
Not too bad
Not a bad stay for a night and good location too, however check-in wasn't the best with confusion on price and then confusion with breakfast price
Would return
2 night stay in a well located hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and air con worked well. Stairs to rooms and cat park need some improvement. Restaurant was fine for breakfast but make sure you ask for a voucher at reception to get a reduced rate.
Disappointing customer service
Checked in, the person behind the desk took a while. No welcome cookie, as advertised. No details given about checkout etc. There is also a £5 charge to leave your baggage at the hotel, or £10 if you leave it overnight. When i callled the day before and asked about storing baggage they never mentioned this! Room was clean but bath was tiny and bed verging on uncomfortable. The room itself was terrible for noise, you could hear EVERYTHING going on in the hotel and directly outside the window. Was woken up by the cleaners bannging the hoover. When checking out there were 3 staff behind the desk, yet only 1 was serving a customer. The other 2 were chatting. When we finally got called over we were only asked what room number we were. Not great customer service!
We stayed at this hotel for four nights, two out of the four nights we had virtually no sleep due to water leakage. On second night the AC started leaking and dripping water all over our luggages. It was noisy and we had to turn AC off and the room is extremely humid with no air flow as there are no windows that can be opened. We called and ask to switch room and they ignored the request and simply sent a technician the next morning to drain the water in the AC, on the fourth night it happened again, since we are checking out the next morning we did not bother switching room in the middle of the night, we spoke to district manager Francisco who just said there is nothing he could do since we booked with expedia. Very unpleasant experience, also missed miscellaneous things such as not giving us new towels after they took our old towels away; leaving used coffee cup and not providing clean ones; did not replace coffee used etc. Would not recommend.
How things are.
The rooms, although small, were clean. The rest of the hotel was also clean. The dining room is showing a bit of wear. I had booked 3 rooms, 1 room only became available at about 5pm. Breakfasts were ok but sometimes certain foods ran out, bacon, coffee, yoghurt. The bar ran out of some drinks which were expensive at £10 a pint. The barman agreed they were pricey and recommended a trip to Tesco. We had our evening meal there 1 night, a barely warm fish tasting chicken curry that did not include things like the nan bread, when i asked about this they said they had run out. I had paid for this but tough luck. No one finished their meals. I had tried to reserve a table (twice) on that night as it was the Euros football final but they said it could not be done. when we came down to dinner all the best tables were reserved, for people who left straight after the game and may not have been guests but friends. I saw some people at breakfast in their pyjamas, why? Not appropriate.
Doubletree Hilton Hyde Park
Very good hotel, breakfast good however they charge extra for porridge!
Our stay was great, probably around a 30 minute walk from the concert entrance to Hyde park. Jospeh the concierge and the reception manager were both legends. Although our check in was slightly delayed they done everything they could to make us comfortable. Greet hosting.
Very nice location.
Good location close to the tube stations.
Room was hot- air conditioner was broken
Great location and good value
Unlikely to return
Poor quality rooms very small with plumbing issues. Pretty tired venue
Poor value for money
I’ve stayed in several Doubletree properties around the world and this has been the poorest experience by a country mile. Check-in: very small area, positioned in a corner. This means when other guests are standing around chatting, it is difficult to access the reception desk, especially with luggage. Room: I stayed in a Deluxe Room, 1 King Bed, Corner room. Other than the entrance to the room being in the corner of the corridor, you cannot tell this is a corner room. There is a single, long window on one wall which the bed faces. Air conditioning is fantastic. Shower pressure is very good, though the ceiling is low, which doesn’t make for a comfortable experience standing in the bathtub (I am 6’). Cleanliness: average to poor. Clothing, which I assume belonged to the previous occupant, was left on the window ledge. Thick dust covered the glasses in the bathroom (there were no glasses in the room itself). I dropped some medication and had to retrieve it from under the bed… needs a mop! Breakfast: abysmal. The kitchen has been being renovated since 17 April (it is now 2 June). Juice positioned in the far corner making it inaccessible, especially when busy. A single toaster (bread pictured was after 3 toasting seasons), food either being cooked outside in a can or microwaved in a make-shift kitchen. Waited for hash browns and chose two as soon as they arrived: chilled in the centre. Fire alarm went off at 05:30. I’ve never had such a poor stay in a premium brand.
Was looking for a property outside congestion zone with parking and close to public transportation. 2 tube stations within 10 minutes. Bus and hop on and off right outside door. Decent restaurants nearby. Lovely outside patio to enjoy a drink or have breakfast. Room was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not a 5 star but almost a 4.
Hotel was in an area walkable to shopping and restaurants and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was having issues with their air conditioning during our stay and the room never got cooler than 75 degrees.
Far Too Hot, No Temperature Control, Problems
Helpful check-in. Room unbearably hot until cooled down enough to sleep at 3am. Portable fan in room was clue. Can't open windows. Problems with TV, dust blocking vents. Soap not refilled after asking; had to take bottle to front desk. Staff said 'Sorry' but did nothing about heat. Staff tried to make up at check-out after being told daily about problems. Too little too late was offered free breakfast when couldn't because had to catch plane. Would never stay at DoubleTree again.
Excellent staff and location
Great location
Location was perfect for me. Staff on check in was great. I was early, but they were very accommodating. Room was ok. Small, but well appointed. It was a “king” bed, but really 2 twins pushed together. Both mattresses comfortable, but you could feel the seam between them. Restaurant attached to the hotel was nice. My only negative comment was that the room was directly above a loading dock area and also where staff smoked, so not much for view. Not a deal breaker, I wasn’t there to gaze out the windows! But, my last night there was a group of employees smoking, and were very loud. I could see that two of them were front desk personnel. It took 4 calls to the front desk for someone to answer, and the noise eventually stopped. I discussed with the manager the following morning. It was a one time occurrence, but having that area immediately below guest rooms is not the best arrangement.
Great hotel and location, although there works going on, they did not interfere with our stay.
The picture frames were pulled out of the wall. The elevator had a blue padded cell vibe. Early morning, people drilling next door. Window cleaner bouncing outside window at 8:30. No vegetarian/vegan option at breakfast. Staff members ignored people on arrival. Then gave everyone cookies to placate. One pillow on the bed. And it was flat.
Staff were very helpful and attentive. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Would stay again.
Dirty, wouldn’t use again
One night in March
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were all excellent, nothing too much trouble. Great location too.
This property was nice but I will say that the room I stayed in with my partner was very small for the week. The bathroom was also very small and compact. The shower door has no sliding door to close, so water can spill onto the bathroom floor and if you’re tall, this shower is not the best for tall people. Other than that it is convenient and located to all transport.
Good stay and service
The hotel is ideally located near busstop and metro, with convenient stores and eateries! Service was good too and room came with 2 cans of water each day. Everything are not bad, except that the shower water's tempature kept fluctuating between very hot and hot.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will certainly be back!!! The staff are very friendly and helpful and welcome you with cookies. Enjoyed my sleep on a comfy bed. Great one night.
All great
The plumbing is quite noisy and the thermostat is more decorative than functional. The nearness of the park and Notting Hill are the real pluses along with the two tube stations nearby. It’s okay.
Do not book
The service was not friendly. The staff were not honest. The room smelled moldy.
We found the room cramped, dark and depressing. We moved to another nearby hotel after one night. Breakfast buffet was okay.
Little gem and the staff are great
Nothing to fancy but everything works, what makes this a great hotel are the staff, all really attentive, nice and also great fun.
Definitely return again
Lovely place, lovely staff, room was amazing. Cookies were delicious! Will definitely be back!
Really bad experience
Really disappointed 3 Bugs found inside room Noisy during our stay when someone collect rubbish in carpark
Good stay!
Great location and restaurants within walking distance. Room was not ready at normal checkin time. Hotel restaurant was okay but very limited. I had no issues with my reservation or requests. I definitely would stay here again.
Clean and fantastic staff. Quiet, modern, and well priced for Stoke on Trent. Incredibly close to the pottery museum as well as the Emma Bridge Water Factory.
Perfect location
Rooms were nice but uncomfortably small, very tight to get around in with very limited space to open luggage etc.
It was clean and close to shopping areas and the park. Staff were great!
5 night stay
Super location. Not as luxurious as expected. Limited staff numbers who work hard.
Great location and comfortable rooms
Great location, close to Kensington Gardens. Nice size room and bathroom. Cute dining area.
Average, but good location
It was ok. Long queue at check-in, with just one person on the desk. Rooms are tiny. Fine for one night, certainly wouldn't stay any longer. Seems no cookie either, perhaps DoubleTree have dropped this from their customer service offering. That said, good location - opposite Hyde Park & a short walk from the tube.
Stay in London
Lovely hotel near Portobello Market and Hyde Park. Welcome second to none. Enjoyed my biscuit. Room was pleasing with big window showing Hyde Park. Bed comfy with tea/coffee available. Did try to reuse towlels but n towel rail to hang them on. The one downside. Breakfast held in light, airy rooms. Plenty of choice. Again it would have improved with 2 hot drinks machine as there was often a queue Overall , a huge success
So cool and cozy place, and special thanks to Caner for his hospitality and deep kindness!!
Location
Great hotel great location
Great location, Portobello neighborhood on one aide, Hyde Park across the street and the Queensway tube stop convenient to all locations. Staff very friendly. Infrastructure a little tired but beds clean and comfortable.
Room was ready when we arrived at noon and staff was outstanding.
Uncomfortable nights stay
The aircon wasn’t working and we were told that the engineer is working on it. This happened for both nights and it was absolutely terrible because of the heat. We happened to be in London when the temperature was at 30 degrees. We couldn’t sleep properly for both nights and nothing was done to help us get through the heat with both nights being extremely uncomfortable. Very frustrating. Although staff were nice, the whole point of staying over is about comfort and being able to sleep, neither was applicable for 2 nights which is really sad. If I had known the air con wasn’t working I’d have booked a different hotel, there was no flexibility or solution which is terrible.
Roaches.
Happy holiday
Lovely mum and I really enjoyed it
Very Comfortable Bed
The bed was incredibly comfortable in a nice Deluxe King room. We did have a couple of hiccups at initial arrival at the hotel. We knew we were too early to check in but asked the hotel to store our luggage which they did so perfectly. We made our payment there and then rather than later when we returned to our assigned room but almost got charged for 8 nights stay instead of 1 night, even though the receptionist took our surname and followed up with my first name correctly, but later apologised saying it was for another person's booking. Later, on our return, a different receptionist tried to charge us yet again for the payment that we had already paid earlier plus a refundable £30 fee - genuine mistake I am sure but I was so glad to have been watching out for the amounts on the card machine!!
Lovely stay
Lovely Hotel. Room was nice & clean. Comfortable bed, great sleep! We paid to have breakfast one morning, it was nice. Good location, close to tube stations and ideal to go walking through Kensington Gardens & into Hyde Park.
Very relaxing stay.
Was here on our honeymoon. There are lots of shops nearby; stations only a few blocks away; Hyde park right across the street. Absolutely no shortage of activities.
Unfortunately, the bathroom smells bad, the rooms are very small, and the elevator is one working and the other not working
Staff Super helpful
Helpful and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Great buffet, close to transportation and Hyde Park, plus lots of restaurants and shopping.
Location by Kensington Gardens is excellent.
Convenient hotel in London
Stayed at this nice hotel and the front deck staffs were helpful. Very near Kensington park. Also near a subway. Walking distance to many restaurants.
