I liked the fact that they changed my room after a cleanliness issue. Maybe a supervisor should inspect the rooms before guests arrive to avoid the inconveniences. Overall we had a good experience and stay.

Restful and Relaxing

Amazing. The front desk staff was able to accommodate an early check in for me with my dog. I was there because my husband was having surgery and this reduced my stress immensely! Also, the food at the restaurant in the lobby, was amazing! The best salsa I have ever had!

I did not like the unknown policy of having to give notice if a guest decides to shorten their stay (in my case, although I told the hotel well before the check out time that I was leaving I had to pay for an additional night that I would not be in the hotel because apparently there is a requirement for prior notice.

We cut short our stay due to the Very noisy air conditioning (our room AC was switched off ). 24hr a day the hotel AC made a high pitch noise in our room. We tried to change room but the other one offered was the same. Staff said it was due to it being an old building. We decided to cancel our 2nd night but was refused a refund. Continental breakfast consisted of fruit and cream, a hard pastry and a choc muffin ! Not great. Def not the standard expected in a Hilton.

Good stay but needs to improve service

Overall our stay was good. Hotel was clean and updated. The lobby is beautiful and those warm cookies at check in are a real treat. Our suite was great. The wifi is terrible though so if thats important to you, you may want to book elsewhere. Service was not good either. We had to ask 3 times for more towels at our room. Our suite was for 6 and they only provided 4 towels. There were never towels at the pool either which was inconvenient and cold after a swim. It may be that they are short staffed but for the price, those things need to be taken care of. Its one of few hotels in kamloops that do not have a complimentary breakfast which is too bad. We loved being close to Riverside Park. The beds were fine, pull out couch was uncomfortable but they usually are. We would stay here again if we couldnt get into our top choices which is what happened this busy long weekend. It definitely wouldnt be a top choice though.

I liked that the rooms were spacious and comfortable and check in and check out was quick and easy. The coffee provided in the room was good. I didn't love that our room was behind the elevators so I heard them go up and down all night. While there was wi-fi included, it didn't work well for me. There isn't enough parking on site.

I generally find Doubletrees to be good hotels, and this one in Kamloops is no exception. Our room was a good size, quiet, and very clean. It had modern, updated decor and a mini-fridge. I found the bed (a queen) very comfortable, with a good mattress. The bathroom was all-in-one -- sink and counter inside, not outside in the room. The hotel is downtown, in a good location for walking around. It's a pretty short cab ride to the airport (under 20 minutes). Also, the front desk staff were pleasant, professional, and very helpful. We had a problem after checking out -- the cab we pre-booked to come at 4:15 a.m. to take us to the airport did not show up. The company would not send another. The overnight desk agent was right on it. He recommended and phoned another company, which came on a rush basis. He really helped us out. In short, a very nice hotel and great service. I would happily stay there again.

The location is fine, easy access to anything downtown but like so many of our communities across this country the homeless hanging around even in the parking lot asking for handouts is annoying. We stayed in room 501 and there is an annoying drip or expansion/contraction of piping that just doesn't go away. Lasted all night. Breakfast in the restaurant was okay.

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were friendly and informative. Our stay was 5 days. The entire hotel was very clean. When I requested a room where we could get the most rest (my husband wasn’t feeling well), that’s exactly what we received. I would recommend asking for a room on the 5th floor. We’ll return here every time we come to Kamloops.

Good location and great staff.

Excellent host upon check in helped me register for Hilton rewards, the rooms are a tad small then normal rooms in the area but the soundproofing is one of the better ones… parking is a tad of a headache when your driving a full size truck… overflow has a bit more room for trucks. The pool and hot tub outside were nice… nice sized tvs in the rooms… premium wifi does come at a cost so just used our mobile hotspot the entire time.

only one problem, not major but inconvenient. My cell phone ran low on charge so I wanted to charge it but I only brought with me my USB connection cord without my plug-in charger. In a lot of hotels now you are starting to see desk lamps and or the phone with with USB slots for charging, not a big deal, just a thought. Many thanks . You did great .

Renovation choices beautiful! Staff & workers went the extra mile to make us comfortable. Limited parking because of construction ( completed in 2 weeks) Restaurant was awful , slow, chipped dishes , poor service , 38 min for bad Eggs Benny. Very disappointed considering the beautiful hotel setting. Will return to hotel but restaurant , lots of great eateries in Kamloops.

When booking this stay, I was never told that it was under renovation. The property should have closed down during renovation. Very noisy, messy, no carpets in hall ways, etc. I would not have booked this if I'd know it was being renovated! My room was fine, with comfy bed, but no pictures on the walls.

I wasntvaware at time of booking that the entire hotel is under complete renovation and so does not have alot of amenities running or upkept Like breakfast and the little store for snacks, no carpet in the hallway which isnt a big thing except there was hundreds of exacto knife blades all over the floor :/ but very nice and clean hotel, would stay again when renos are done

Great location, it’s reasonably clean and comfortable but the walls are thin and everything is closed because of construction. I get closing certain areas but they have taken all the art off of the walls etc so it’s always evident that it’s under construction plus they had doors open in the lobby and it was -20.

The property was close to the hospital where my husband was. They said they had a pool and spa but it was closed. The “convenience store” was a flat of pop and a case of water. To get housekeeping you needed to contact the front desk 24 hours in advance. I didn’t enjoy my stay and moved to another property when my husband’s hospital stay was extended

Kamloops for work

Convenient location to downtown and my purpose for being in Kamloops. Since my last stay there, has been either change in ownership or management as it is not what it was in 2021. Disappointing to now pay for parking. Restaurant is lovely but I miss lounge feeling in front of fireplace and bar.

Booked this hotel per review(cleanness) and the name value of Hilton. But, it was quite disappointing. No clear instruction about the deposit charge. No explanation on the hotel services or amenities when check-in at front desk. In room - there were dirty stains in the bathroom wall next to the sink area and the bathroom curtain. Lighting were half broken-I had to be super careful to turn on/turn off the lightings. Coffee machine was not emptied/cleaned-found a used coffee pod still in the machine. I would not choose this hotel next time.

Rooms dated. Carpets need to be deep cleaned. Very dirty. Windows are filthy need a good wash on outside. Sketchy area at night. A lot of people homeless, intoxicated or openly doing drugs, several area gong for money Beds comfortable and good linens.

Dirty floors in elevator and entry way. Patio was filthy. Bar was closed, but not in use even though it said it was booked for a private party. Room was hot and AC did not work to solve problem, barely slept all night.

The worst staff, room conditions are pathetic. The worst ever hotel I have ever stayed. Small room and bathroom, toilet flush not working, front desk donot want to help at all or take complaints.

Handy to Hospital. People were great. Room furniture worn and could use a cleaning. Quiet. Air Conditioning excellent. Internal system NOT window hung. Minimal parking on grounds. There is additional underground secure parking in the building next door. Limited spaces reserved for hotel. I was lucky and got the last stall.

The room was clean and comfortable beds. The outdoor pool was not suitable for swimming. This was a disappointment for our two kids.

We’ve stayed at a few Hilton and Doubletree properties so the Kamloops one was a disappointment. Seemed very run down. Our room was clean on arrival but the overall impression of the hotel didn’t meet the usual standard.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Hospitality from front desk extremely lacking. Waited 30 min for a juice at breakfast downstairs and another 30 for the meal before we gave up and left. Our complaint was not taken seriously and the hotel staff couldn’t have cared less. Will never recommend this hotel

Charges for parking

We arrived at 4:30pm. Their parking was already full. We have to park on the street. After we checked out, I found they charged us $12 for parking even they listed free parking. I had to go back to ask for refund. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working. The AC was quite noisy.
