The hotel was great. Strongly suggest to get the optional breakfast. There are good options and it is a complete sit down experience.
Great location
The location for walking downtown is excellent, the hotel was quiet, comfortable beds, staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that the shower floor looked old and cheap, and was a bit stained, as was the tile grout on the lower portions of shower tile. Otherwise, everything was very clean and tidy.
Great location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Entire staff made our stay warm and welcoming. Sephine at the front desk, Dave, Rochelle and Erin at the restaurant/bar and each staff we encountered were very friendly. Since we checked in late, it was nice to have someone at the front desk 24/7. Property was very clean, bed and pillows very comfortable. We had a few maintenance issues in the room, and the $15 per night parking fee is the reason for deducting one star.
Excellent location. We walked around and did dinner two blocks away and then walked a couple blocks to concert at Tower Theater. Very comfortable room and bed.
Ideal location
Comfortable place to stay in the heart of downtown Bend. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Honestly loved everything about this hotel staff was lovely super nice and professional. Definitely will be recommending people to stay here.
The remodel was very nice
staff was super friendly
Never got to even stay in the room we paid for
We waited in the lobby and were never able to check in because the computer system was down. People were waiting for hours and totally displaced. We never got to actually stay and need a refund.
Loved it was downtown Bend
dont like getting dinged for parking after the fact. 15 bucks was added to the bill. petty annoyances stick in a consumers memory.
Great family friendly option in downtown bend! Hotel is newly renovated and the breakfast was delicious and a great value. My son loved the pool and hottub. All of the staff were kind and friendly especially Jodi at the front desk!
Elevator was out and somebody parked and blocked the parking lot and should have had their car towed.
Very nice property and great staff. Located in the heart of eclectic downtown Bend with many shopping and eating choices within an easy strolling distance. I didn’t like the extra fee for parking my vehicle on hotel property. Paid enough for the room and shouldn’t have had to pay extra to park…
Great walkable location for access to downtown Bend. Noisy due to street traffic.
Clean
Great location! Easy to walk to downtown. Property needs updating.
Great location!
This is a 300.00 a night hotel with 2 coffee pods, no complimentary coffee in the morning, 15.00 a night for parking, the hallway carpet was dirty You can stay in a beautiful hotel for 50.00 more
It was very clean and cozy.
This hotel was perfect for walking around Bend, beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We would definitely stay here again.
nice breakfast options
I want to go back again
The hotel was excellent! Everything was central to food, transportation, and entertainment. Room was super clean, beds soft and the air conditioner was a huge plus. I would stay here again...
Great location, friendly staff.
This hotel has seen better days. The AC in our room broke, they were renovating the room above ours (and moving furniture very early in the morning) and the shower leaked all over the floor. My husband filled out a review request from Hilton and they refunded half our stay. Not sure if it's moving away from being a Hilton property, but the big sign outside said "Newberry Hotel" so it took us a minute to figure out if this was actually the correct hotel! The big D on the exit doors told us it was the DoubleTree, but otherwise it was hard to figure out! The location was great, as downtown Bend was easy to walk to, and parking was plentiful.
Overall it was a great & comfortable stay! Just wish there was a sign outside that explained why there was a different name on the building. There were ZERO signs outside that indicated the building was or previously was a Doubletree by Hilton. We drove around several times thinking we had the wrong address, not realizing they are in the works for renovating and it’s getting a new name.
The hotel is under construction and transitioning from a Doubletree to the Newbury Hotel. We were not made aware of this prior to booking and do not feel the rooms should be full price. Hammering and drilling started in the morning, and the hotel is a construction zone overall, including the lobby and common areas. They have a make-shift registration desk set up in a room that is difficult to find. Also, the door to our bathroom was not attached properly and scraped across the floor and could not be closed all the way.
I was told that the hotel has been in a remodel stage since October 2023 which included a name change in the past 3-4 weeks. We had a very difficult time finding the hotel Friday at 10 PM because of the name change., If we would not have had Maps on our phones, it would have been a real problem. We drove around it twice before we decided to ask, the front lobby is closed for renovation, the front desk is a make shift setup on a conference room.
Hotel was going thru a rehab rooms smelled like adhesive, lobby and halls were a construction site. No lobby or dining. Breakfast was a collection of packaged items. A construction job that rented rooms. We all deserve a refund or suscount
Very meh condition but premium pricing
Lots of construction going on at the hotel, noise early in the morning. Showering with cold water or barely warm water. Ice machine on 2nd floor broken. Needed toilet paper, called the front desk and was told to go to the ground floor bathrooms and take it from there. We will not be back at this hotel.
View from room beautiful. Construction going on. I'd stay again, no problem.
Booked stay a month in advance. At arrival found out hotel was under construction. We were “upgraded” to an unwanted room. When they were able to get us into the King room reserved, we found that we did Ted even have screens on our windows. No restrauant/breakfast available as advertised, no access to pool or gym…you had to visit a sister hotel down the road! Very disappointed that we were not notified of this situation at booking. P.S. construction started at 6am!
Good location, lack of execution
Not sure what this hotel is anymore because by all indications it's not longer a "Hilton". Major construction going on everywhere and not necessarily for the best. We had lamps with no plug ins. A shower that was more like a phone booth. A TV that didn't have a guide. Two whole towels. While it may be under "renovation" it doesn't feel like it's for the best.
Hotel under renovation. Construction noise and dirt everywhere. No maid service. Front desk personnel poorly trained. It took thirty minutes to check in because the girl couldn’t start the computer! I will never stay there again.
Good location
The property was under construction, we didn’t even have a view from our room due to the painting they were doing outside. Also really no food options at night, no bartenders Saturday evening. So no services completely! This was the big reason we booked this hotel is to have eating survices at night if needed. The room was recently renovated and nice. The staff behind the front desk were mediocre at best. Wish I knew renovations were commencing, would have stayed somewhere else.
Nice location. Property under construction with lots of noise for a Saturday. Swimming pool and spa out of order, but rates remain a book level. Nice staff - certainly not their fault.
Not a fault per se, but the whole building was under renovation during our stay and quite dirty. No advance warning was given to us prior to our stay that this would be happening. Felt like walking through an active construction site, with construction workers and construction materials strewn everywhere. Again, no advance warning that apparently the gym, spa and pool were not available, and that we were essentially staying in an active renovation. For some reason our rooms door would not lock, and when brought to the attention of the front desk they would "send someone to take a look", which never happened. Every morning we would truck out our valubles to the car since we couldnt trust the door to actually lock when we were away. Totally understand that renovations happen, but without any notice was unacceptable. Certainly not what I would expect from a Hilton property.
Under renovation should be closed and not open No pool smells like construction
They were renovating.
The property was clean. The staff lacked any interest in customer service and actually seemed bothered when asking for assistance. The hotel was renovating and the odor from chemicals was extremely strong. The workout room wasn’t useable. Parking was a joke. But the elevator worked!
Full on construction zone. What a mess.
Great location, easy walking downtown Bend
The hotel was great for what i needed. Even though renovation was going on it did not bother me. The spa was in horrible condition, it's a shame that this is not addressed by the hotel. It's not much of a complicated fix, just resurfacing.
The beds were perfect! So comfy and the fluffy pillows hit the spot. We areive very late, 11pm or so. The gal working never smiled or made eye contact. She was very short with her words and made you feel like an annoyance. At one point my husband who she saw with me when we arrived, forgot our room number and she refused to assist him in locating it. I understand not being able to just tell him for security reasons but she could have callled the room or my cell thats on the reservation. He eventually found the room. It was a bad first impression and we started to lose confidence in the stay. However, the rest of the staff were delightful! Breakfast was delicios and everyone else was friendly and full a smiles! Everything was clean, chrckout was smooth. Wonderful!!
They are currently remodeling, but other than that. It was a great place to stay.
Staff was very friendly and the room was very clean!
The front desk people are awesome and so friendly. The rooms are so clean and the beds so comfortable. It's the 2nd time we've stayed there in 6 weeks. Everything is so close to this hotel in downtown Bend, Or
Very convenient to downtown Bend, with parking included, which is a bonus in this area.
Great location, walk to downtown
The hotel is the process of updating, but if you stay in a room that hasn’t been updated, be aware that there are no USB ports in the rooms. We were unable to charge our phones without buying plug-ins. Also, parking isn’t free.
I don't have any complaints, but I would recommend some maintenance to avoid future water damage. My room was in need of new sink, tub, and counter sealant. There was also a crack in the shower pan that could let water down to the floor below.
The real problem came during checkout and after my stay. First of all I bought snacks from their front desk. Upon opening the popcorn the entire bag ripped and popcorn fell everywhere. There is no vacuum in the room so I was unable to clean it up. I tried my best to get what I could, and left a generous tip for housekeeping. After I drive 30 minutes to the airport I notice my wedding ring is not on my finger. I remember I left it on the bathroom sink when I was washing my hands. I call the hotel and tell the front desk. To which he said he would have house keeping check. I call back 15 minutes later to check if they found it, the man insisted it was not there. He said he went in and searched EVERYWHERE with a flashlight, even got on his hands and knees. I asked if I could come look myself as I KNEW it was there. He got defensive and said there was no reason for me to come it is not there and the room has already been searched, cleaned, and is ready for the next guest. I insisted I am coming back to search as I would not be leaving town knowing my ring is in that room. I drive the 30 minutes back to the hotel and the man I spoke with walked me up to the “clean” room. As soon as I walked in I went right to the “clean” bathroom sink and behind the tissue box there is my wedding ring! Mind you, if someone had wiped down this sink would’ve seen my ring. Yet there it was! And to top it off they charged me 20$ for the popcorn on the floor.
Pillows had a bad smell need new pillows
Nice well located property
Nice hotel. Very well located. Nice to have some food service available in the lobby. Easy walk to downtown.
Nice hotel. Fairly clean, Stairs to downtown are great!
Lots of additional charges that were not apparent when we made a 3rd party reservation.
I didn't like the parking fee or the cost of breakfast
Close in to everything in Bend. Property is a bit dated. The warm cookies they gave us at checkin were awesome.
Should supply more linens. Could use more parking.
Mmmm....
Very bad customer service at the front desk. Really bad. Sad, because everything else was wonderful. This doesn't stop me going back to your hotel in Bend. Perfect location, excellent service. Just one person can be nasty, but it gives you a bad feeling.
No Wifi
Nice property but the Wifi was unavailable all morning Oct 1. I either couldn't get the log in to come up or when it did when I entered name and room number it would just spin. It worked the night before even though it took a couple tries to get it to login. I went to the front desk to get help and the woman there was no help at all. She just said sometimes it doesn't work with Apple products because of extra security... I work for Apple and travel all over the world and never have problems logging on to Hotel Wifi's. When I mentioned that to her she got flippant with me and said 'well you explain to me why it doesn't work then'. Pretty ridiculous encounter and not helpful at all to say the least. Not to mention Apple products make up a pretty significant user base I don't think you want to exclude. I ended up having to use my phone as a hotspot in low data mode to get some work done. Regardless not acceptable
Front desk staff cheerful welcoming.
Very very expensive for so-so rooms. Check in takes way too long, poor front desk clerks are typing away forever to get your room keys. Makes no sense. Getting the "free" internet is a crazy hassle ... enter all your life info, then click through a zillion ads, and then it fails, start over! Not good won't stay here again.
The gal at the front was very nice and friendly. Makes all the difference. Rooms were clean and looked nice, although a bit of an “old” smell. Great location and price, would stay again.
Nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff.
Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were super helpful, we asked if we could have two beds instead of one and that was sorted quickly and easily. We needed an extended checkout (1pm) and again the staff were accommodating and it was arranged so that we could go rafting and come back, shower then check out. All in all very good service. There are a lot of food options in Bend and the staff were happy to recommend places. We didn’t use the restaurant, but they did advise the all-you-can-eat breakfast was $13 per person and was available until 9.30am. The is a small pool on site as well, which was good.
No one at front desk! Even when checking into hotel, we had to wait over ten minutes for someone to show up. We had to ask waitress or bartender in dining room when we had questions because no one was at front desk. Since we booked through Expedia, they kept adding charges to our room. Breakfast, parking and wifi. When we chose the "complimentary" wifi, wifi service was extremely slow and we were required to divulge personal information to logon. Very poor service compared to other places we have stayed!
Great location, very clean.
The property is very close to downtown Bend. However, our room was a bit dingy with a lack of power outlets, old/damaged lamp shades and older furniture.
Average stay, pricy for quality of room
The price we paid was not equal to the quality of room in my opinion. It looked kind of outdated (for the $500 per 1 night stay), but kitchen & sink area were updated. The room had an unpleasant smell when we first arrived, but we opened the window to air it out and really only were there to sleep. The pool door was unable to be unlocked with our key, but a staff member helped and let us into the pool.
Breakfast wasnt the greatest. We couldnt even finish the coffee or juice we poured. Room and facilities were great, bed was very comfortable. No easy guide menu on the tv so was a little annoying to scroll through for a movie or show before bed.
The customer service was absolutely phenomenal. Every single employee was helpful, kind, and went above and beyond to take care of us. From checking in, recommending food/entertainment, greeting us, and just every encounter was positive. Great location!!
Shower curtain wouldn’t stay put so water was splashing out on the wall and floor, part of ceiling was coming down due to moisture, walls in shower were moldy, and shower head was very dirty. The rest of our room was clean and staff was friendly
Property was clean and the staff were very nice. Close walking distance to eateries and shopping.
Fantastic location right in downtown Bend. The hotel is quiet, clean and had everything we needed. Some of the furnishings are a little outdated but the bed is comfortable and the shower was nice. They do charge $10 per day for parking, which we knew in advance and given the fact that we didn’t have to drive much due to property location I didn’t mind. Would definitely stay again.
This hotel is just by the downtown area, so you can easily walk to shops and dining. The kids loved the pool, and the rooms were nice. What made our stay was how helpful and nice the staff were. Our hire car broke down and they were only too happy to help and accommodate us. Would definitely stay here again!!
Asked for but never got cleaning service. Safe in room didn’t work asked for maintenance but never came to fix
Location, location, location
We have stayed here several times over the years. You can't beat the location, right in downtown Bend. It is close to several great restaurants, shops, and the park. But it is getting a bit dated. The bathroom could use a deep clean. The shower also seemed very cramped, as it was narrow and had a glass door, rather than a curtain. The safe in our room was malfunctioning. The keypad glowed with a blue light all night (we had to drape a towel over it to let us sleep), and it beeped randomly, starting at 6:00 a.m. The bed was comfortable.
Great location but needs a facelift and update.
The ground floor unit I was given was an "upgraded unit with a balcony" because there were no other king rooms available.... i could live with the noise from the street outside below the balcony, unfortunately the toilet doesn't stop running, blinds were broken, floors needed to be vacuumed, tv counter still had rings from previous occupants drinks and there is mold on the bottom of the shower and around the sink faucet.
Stay here!
Excellent location with walking distance to downtown Bend. Spacious, clean room and super comfy bed. Be prepared to pay $10 parking fee as set by the city.
Very convenient location. We were charged an additional $10 per night to park our car in the hotel’s parking area; this was not announced before we arrived.
전자렌지가 있어서 좋았고아침식사도훌륭했습니다
Clean but wanted more comfort
The room was fine. Clean. The people there were friendly and helpful. My main issue was with the heater/air conditioner. It wasn't working right. I get hot in hotels anyway since you can never get it as cool as night as you need. But this unit wasn't even working right. In the middle of the night I tried to adjust the temperature and it was completely unresponsive. I didn't even get the false satisfaction of turning it down to 60 and having it not let me go any further. I would so love a hotel that actually let you have a cool room at night.
The Upgrade for a filthy patio is a bummer. Pay extra to wipe months of grime off the chairs and sit with a pile of pine needles isn’t right, especially when I called the front desk and asked for a room refresh and to wipe down the patio. Neither happened, Laziness is inexcusable. Bend has better options.
Wasteful single use cups wrapped in plastic for coffee in room. Room itself was grungy with several fixtures broken or missing. $10 for parking and $13 per person for breakfast on top of $170 room. Would not stay again.
Needs attention & repair
The sofa bed was actually a loveseat so was only a twin matress, and was really squeaky and uncomfortable. Our room felt old and dirty from the minute we walked in. Our hot water handle on the sink didnt work. My husband realized it had been turned off b/c the pipe leaked when he turned it back on, so instead of repairing the leak, they just turned off the hot water and continued to rent the room. The only upside was lots of parking and good location.
Proximity to downtown was a plus. $10 for overnight parking was a bummer. Getting online was harder than it should have been as "something went wrong" the first three tries. Overall good experience.
Conveniently located to what i needed, friendly staff, comfortable room.
hilton in bend
they let me play my ps5 in the bar for that they are the greatest hotel ever
My only problem was with the internet, and perhaps that was no fault of the hotel.
Stayed there twice. Rooms clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed on the first and second floor and it’s been very loud with people walking in the halls and slamming doors and hearing folks moving around in the room above me.
Clean, kind and convince
T
Great room. I will definitely stay again if the price stays within my company budget
The tub didn’t drain and if you let it fill to much black stuff would come up. Shower pressure was horrible had to rinse hair under bath facet. Only got a handful of tv Chanel’s to come in.
Hire an employee who knows how to run the Starbucks machine.
The Newberry Hotel Bend, Tapestry Collection by Hilton | Hotel in Bend | Travala.com
Property has been remodeled and rebranded by Hilton. Used to be the Double Tree now it’s the Newberry. Part of the tapestry brand. Hotel location is perfect right in down town Bend. The downtown is all walkable from hotel. Room with a balcony was nice. Only complaint is the room was difficult to keep comfortable at night. It was usually to warm even with setting @65 degrees. We should have opened the window. Pillows were horrible didnt see any others in the closet nor did I ask about them having others. These two items made it difficult to get a good nights sleep.
