Great hotel very kind an helpful
Fabulous stay at a lovely hotel - well recommended
Had a fantastic time and wouldn't hesitate in staying again. Staff were really friendly and helpful
Much left to be desired
Good location but the hotel left many things to be desired. Maintenance man clearly has zero pride in their work. Very poor workmanship around the room we had. See pictures! When we arrived with small children, we went up to the 6th floor and then found we needed to climb to more flights of stairs. Extremely inconvenient with small children and large rolling bags. The hotel is also on motion censored lights. Seems like a good idea except when you’re sitting in your closet trying to go through clothes and the lights go out or sitting at the elevator waiting and the lights go out. It didn’t feel eco friendly, it just felt unsafe and annoying to open up your door to a dark hallway. Zero free water in this hotel so for that I give one star. All hotels should supply free water - so forget the hard cookie and trade for water. Gym had cups and water 2 of the 8 days we stayed and didn’t have any cleaning products out to clean off the machines when we were done. Shower was extremely small. I am a 5ft, 100lb woman and I had to turn off the rainwater shower just to wash because there was no other room without bumping my elbows or washing all the soap off immediately. Whoever designed the spacing on bathrooms, closets and rooms did poorly. Staff did not greet us upon arrival. Overall, would not stay here again.
Overall good, payment process needs improving.
Overall a good stay. Great location. There where problems with their billing process. It didnt make sense how it was done and even though you choose the 'pay at property' option they take a nights stay cost days before you even get there which is not noted when booking the stay and I was not even informed that they where going to do it.
Great Stay
Really great quality rooms, comfortable beds and great shower! Large TV in room and breakfast fantastic quality. My only minor niggle is the bed pillows were a little small.
Business Liverpool
Charged me 2x, had to go back to receptionist to get a refund which will take 5 days! I was on teams meetings in my room and the internet was the worst I have experienced, you had to pay £25 extra for the health spa, not acceptable. I won’t be go back to this hotel!
It is an average hotel in the city center. Easy walking to everything. Internet was slow. Paid top dollar on a LFC game night so it was not a great value but it was fine. Clean and neat.
Disappointing Experience
Staff were reasonably pleasant but I was very disappointed with my room. Window blind was not adjustable (the cord had been removed) meaning I couldn't get any sunlight in during the day. Also, the air conditioning unit was not working so I was stuck in an unbearably warm room, leading to a really poor night's sleep.
Convenient, clean, efficient
We had a lovely stay and the staff were very friendly and polite. Bed seemed like it slanted slightly so wasnt the best nights sleep. Also for the cost i would of expected to at least get a complimentary bottle of water. Location was also great . So overall we had a pleasant stay.
Everything was amazing! Except for the tv, to use netflix you needed to accept the user agreement, but the user agreement kept failing to load up.. But i still put 5 stars because everything else was amazing
Good overall
Lovely hotel and staff. Very clean. Pillows were too soft, feathery type, but loved the rest of the hotel. Will stay again.
They should put bins in the breakfast area as there was no were to put your rubbish, it was left on the table.
Great spot in the heart of Liverpool friendly staff, a quick walk to the Cavern Club, the River Mersey, and a manageable jaunt across town to Anfield for the match. Go Reds!
Only short walk to shops ,pubs and restaurants. Spa facility is an added bonus.
Great location. Fabulous, classical hotel.
The building was well designed, still had the original character and in the public areas it was functional as well. The room was extremely satisfying especially the bathroom.
Needs Rennovating
The room was really grotty. Furniture was dog eared and marks all over the walls. Really run down.
We went to the spa and the jacuzzi was not working. When eventually a maintenance man fixed it we got in and there was 4 plasters floating and on the side. We got out immediately. There was three people in the spa but robes and towels over the 4 loungers and the 4 chairs. Therefore nowhere to sit and relax. So disappointing!
We had a lovely meal in the hotel , staff were very helpful and nice. Bedroom had everything we needed and we had a lovely big bathroom.
Weekend away
Hotel and staff were lovely and very helpful. The room we had was clean and tidy and very spacious. Only 1 thing was my wife wanted a bath but we couldn’t get the plug to stay down 😂 not sure if this was broken or we were just stupid. 😂😂😂 other than that everything else was perfect. Would definitely stay again.
Room 404 I paid £230 for one night room only. After staying in many Doubletree hotels before I was expecting the same room quality. This room was a accessibility room, It was old, dated, it felt stuffy and very dated. I have stayed in much nicer rooms for a fraction of the price. Very disappointed.
We stayed overnight and really enjoyed the hotel. The location is central, the staff were lovely and helpful, our room was immaculate, the breakfast was amazing (and plentiful) and the dining staff were fabulous! I would highly recommend staying here
Lovely stay for our Anniversary
Lovely clean hotel, central location, staff were kind and helpful. Brilliant selection for breakfast. Only negative was that there were two weddings and the music from the celebrations didnt end until after 11:30pm and were were directly above the function room.
Amazing room, great stay
Good stay.. impersonal check in.. It was our 35th wedding anniversary & not even acknowledge by hotel, even though they were told in advance.. rather disappointed in this.. room was fine but carpet awful with stains. used spa this was good if not a little overpriced for residents.
So nice and relaxing
The room was so nice the bed was comfortable, the food was to die for. Would highly recommend and the price was good as well
Disaster
I did not check in because In had COVID! i tried to reschedule the booking on the day I was supposed to check in, on your online service, but Hotels.com were asking for an extortionate financial penalty fee which I thought was unfair and inappropriate and I am very disappointed.
Overall the hotel is run by pleasant members of staff who are always on hand to help their guests however the property needs maintenance in areas and should have a clearer explanation of the parking situation.
Great confident hotel and location, bed was incredible and bath was fantastic
Con artists! Soon as you arrive at the property you are told you need to pay extra to use any of the spa facilities! I.e. steam room, Sauna etc! BEWARE
Lovely cold selection at breakfast.
Air con in the room wasn’t working
Lovely hotel, lovely staff, beautiful room. We went during pride so it was very noisy but quiet after midnight. Brealfast was very good
Good
Had a very good stay, 3 of us stayed for a friends trip. Hotel room was very large, maybe in need of a redecorate. Breakfast was lovely. Towels are big, which is nice.
Good location. Very clean and very friendly. Our room was on the warm side but they gave us a fan to help. AC would not go lower to cool down.
Family city break
The room was super comfy and very spacious (deluxe room with 2 queen beds). The bathroom was also large with double sinks, a big bath and an amazing rain shower! We never used the spa facilities but the hotel was beautiful and in an excellent location for exploring Liverpool. The welcome cookie on arrival was a nice touch too. The only negative point we noticed was that although the room looked clean, if you looked closer it wasn’t entirely spotless. We moved the beds slightly and discovered some roses petals on the floor 🙈 One of the bathrobes also had fake tan on it from a previous visitor. However, an excellent stay overall. We would recommend this hotel.
Excellent staff and service.
Disappointing accommodations in Liverpool
We're not super picky about our hotel accommodations but the room we got was isolated in a section of the hotel that used to be an insurance company. The room was very hot temperature-wise and had no ventilation. We asked the front desk to lower the thermostat but it did not help. We asked for a fan which they provided. We were quite uncomfortable both nights we were there. There was a large, unexpected ramp up to our group of hotel rooms. We both have no issues walking or problems with balance but we both almost tripped on the ramp several times. The ramp was not marked nor were any caution signs posted. We use Hotels.com all the time but we will not stay at this hotel on our next trip to Liverpool.
Attention to detail. Polite and attentive staff
A great stay, would definitely come back
Property is really good however had to pay £25 for the pool and spa facilities which is a bit extreme as I would of expected a hotel discount or something like that
Great stay would recommend
Hotel was great location and was a comfortable stay. Staff were amazing especially the lady at reception when we checked in we saw her a couple of other times during our stay and she was always very helpful and friendly
Nice hotel and friendly staff. Room decent with a nice comfy bed but the window did not open and there was no view apart from the back end of the hotel about 10 feet away. Dull in the room due to lack of natural daylight. Food in the restaurant Ok but I didn’t get offered the 2 for 1 drinks when I was in there between 3-6m.
Air conditioning broken room boiling No pool access Snacks on arrival missing
I ended up itching all night n have massive reaction The duvets musta been dirty
The hotel was simply outstanding & a complimentary room upgrade was greatly appreciated and made our stay even more memorable.
Noisy & Expensive
Booked a family suite at higher cost than we'd usually spend as a family treat. Our room was next to a corporate event and noise could be heard all evening from 7pm despite having the tv on. despite phoning reception the only thing the team could do was assure us the event finished at 11pm and offer a complimentary breakfast which opened at 8:30. 2 of our party needed to leave at 8:30 so this was no good. Despite assurances we were awoken at 12:40am by very loud revellers leaving the event. we could hear outside noise and nightclub music for most of the night. I wish we'd stayed in a travelodge
The location of the hotel was very central
great stay for Taylor Swift concert. only issue had stairs we had to take and drag luggage no elevator to our room only up to the floor. so if you have issues moving or hauling luggage can be tricky.
Lovely hotel. Couple of minor issues
It is a lovely hotel but the internet is poor. Unfortunately during my stay the air con wasnt working in the room. I did report it but during my 3 night stay it wasn't working and the room was quite warm. Also the shower had hardly any pressure. All in all i love this hotel and stayed many times. This time it was a disappointment.
Great location
Fab location, excellent service, friendly helpful staff, rooms are looking a little dated and tatty but clean
Quiet, clean and amazing staff.
The bathroom was abit dated. The room was very nice. Great location.
Very good central location for cavern club, bustling centre of town and not far from docks. NCP carpark also close by. Overall excellent staff, clean and comfortable hotel. We would have spent more time in the bar if the drinks weren’t so expensive. The eggs I ordered fresh were very good at breakfast but the pancakes on offer were rigid. No water or biscuits in the room. Bit irritated we weren’t allowed to view the spa before paying so we just didn’t use it in the end. Every other spa hotel we have stayed in we have used the spa. Could have atleast had pictures or a video showing what it was like.
Worth a stay.
Fabulous hotel in a great location close to everything Liverpool has to offer. Staff were nice, breakfast was lovely & bed was soooo comfortable!
great hotel in the centre of liverpool
One night business trip stay. Everything worked really well, comfortable bed, very good breakfast. The Liverpool centre is on the doorstep.
Enjoyed our stay -very central location but not noisy. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Gym small but well equipped. Decent breakfast. Would definitely stay again mext time we are in Liverpool
Good hotel ! Some issues with maintenance tap loose , curtain broken and rust in the shower but overall good . Staff has an issue at check in but sorted it . Breakfast very good
Large bedroom
Very nice overall. Staff were friendly and room was comfy. The only negative was the breakfast, coffee was from a machine and didnt taste good and some of the breakfast items were overcooked.
Excellent hotel in a great location
Location was great parking nearby with discount lovely hotel
City centre location, nice bar
A few minor issues
Staff very friendly from the reception to the maintenance workers! However we had a few minor issues with the room. The bedside lamp was not working which meant we had to have the full glare of main lights on all the time - not ideal in evening. The TV did not work - there was no signal. The shower gel in the shower and in the bath were empty Just minor issues - but annoying non the less.
Misleading advert
We booked this hotel because it had a pool, however the advert is misleading. The Hotel does not include pool facilities. You have to pay an extra £25 per person per hour to use even as a guest.
Excellent team looking after us
This was everything we expected it to be, older building with a history of its own, smaller rooms, well kept. breakfast is worth the extra for convenience and quality,
Well situated for the town centre. Would stay again if we went back to Liverpool
Not a good sleep atall
The check-in process was great, helped us schedule a taxi for later in the day. We were given a room designed for folks with disabilities, and found the bathroom awkward to use. The sink faucet splattered when turned on, and the shower leaked onto the floor. Otherwise the people, the room, the service and the stay were terrific.
Very central
We stayed 2 nights with breakfast for £456, so was expecting a very nice quality stay for the price. On the positives, the bed was very comfortable. The first night, I asked for extra pillows and these were delivered quickly. The shower in the en-suite was excellent also. Breakfast was also very nice. The hotel is in a brilliant location for the centre of Liverpool & the Docks were approx 10 min walk as well. We used the hotel spa and pool facilities which were £50 for 2 of us for an hour. It was expensive but very relaxing and enjoyable. However, the pool/ jacuzzi area was scruffy as loose mosaic tiles were coming off. For the price, it could do with smartening up. On the down side, the room could have been cleaner. The carpet had stains on it and looked like it hadn’t been hoovered as it had debris on it. Light switches by the bed were sticky which was unpleasant. The toilet could have been cleaner also. On the first morning, we had taken off our ‘do not disturb’ sign by 10.30am and left the room for the day. On returning at approx 6.30pm, our room had not been serviced which was disappointing. I had rung reception to request clean towels and we were told they’d be 10 mins. As a result I got in the shower but the towels didn’t come for another hour, so I ended up having to dry myself on a hand towel as this was the only dry towel we had! Not ideal. The staff did apologise for the delay. The stay overall was pleasant but a little disappointing.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Will review more once I have used the Spa👍
the showeer was blocked
good hotel let down by spa
Beautiful hotel and lovely comfy bed! Excellent staff but the spa was a £25 extra cost (even with a £240 night rate!) and the pool was freezing. the jacuzzi tiles were all coming off and snagged my cozzie, and the sauna wasn’t warm.
The bedroom sheet had a major stain on one side of the bed - which resulted in my wife and i having to sleep on one side of the bed - we have a picture of it and if you provide us with a direct email or mobile number we can send you a copy of it. Secondly it was very noisy outside our door after 12 midnight with two people arguing intensley and using bad language - My mobile is 07885 230029 - contact email address is nigel@tyronestone.co.uk
Central location, potential for improvement
on arrival, I got directed to a close carpark, and came back finding out I got directed carpark was wrong, so no discount, the print from reception was hard to read due missing ink. I asked for a room with view but got a wall instead. room was changed to be fair, the tables in the restaurant was sticky and the wifi was something compared to a dial-up modem, thus my reservation said HI-SPEED Internet...I gave up working and went for a walk due to the VERY central location.
Best I’ve stayed in in Liverpool
Absolutely freezing in the room otherwise all good. Wasn’t worth what we paid.
Got upgraded to a suite and it was lovely the staff was amazing especially the Asian man working on the reception at night
Amazing hotel. Poor internet for guests
Lovely hotel. Would be 5 stars if the internet worked well. Terrible internet speeds are the only thing that brings the hotel down
Well what can I say but probably the best hotel room I have ever had as I was treated to the Presidential Suite. Let me tell you this room was out of this world and I was very lucky. If I could give 10 stars I would 👍
The location was good . The room was ok and clean . The shower was amazing . There was no water in the room. The welcome cookie was good but there was no vegan or alternative . The breakfast was ok but had better in other hotels in Liverpool .
Fantastic facilities, will be back
Nice trip to Liverpool
Nice hotel on the edge of town
For the money, not great. Initial staff member was standoffish upon check in. Pillows full of dust mites biting me all night. Also, there were no hand towels, bath towels, or shower gel in the room. Unacceptable for a Hilton that charges nearly £200 for a night.
The tv was dated, cannot stream and most channels didn’t work. There was stains on the bedsheet and curtains, scuffs on the walls, beer bottle top under the chair, so it’s not being cleaned properly. The bedside light was broken. I reported all this straight away, I was told if I don’t like it, then cancel my stay! They then said they will fix the light and they didn’t. No excuse for being dirty, it’s not Hilton standard. Couldn’t wait to leave and very expensive. With the stains on the sheets I wondered if they had even been changed. Didn’t sleep at all, ladder into the pool very loose, came away from the floor, major hazard and you had to pay £25 just to use the spa. Couldn’t even show any kind of goodwill gesture. Be aware! Go to Radisson red instead, beautiful old building and modern facilities and clean with helpful staff. I have proof photos of the dirt in the room.
It’s a unique hotel, our room was very nice, it was quiet, felt very safe and is close to lots of restaurants, shops and sights in the city centre.
Very clean and such a great location
Very noisy - I’ve stayed in city centre hotels around the world and never felt like I’ve been sleeping on a dance floor, like I did in this hotel. Upgrade your windows/sound proofing or drop your price.
Great Hotel
Excellent Customer Service at check-in, Breakfast buffet was first class - great location. comfortable room/bed(s).
Very nice hotel. Really convenient, everything was easy to walk to. The spa package I payed for was excellent!
Poor Customer Service
I found the attention to detail lacking in some areas. The edges around the bathroom were very scruffy, the hinges to the shower door were not fitted to a professional manner and the shower door didn’t close. I found smudges on the wall and dirt marks on the curtain. The bed caused me to have a very uncomfortable sleep. When I put forward these complaints to the hotel staff, they took some time to get back in touch with me and once they had addressed my concerns a member of staff called Nikhita simply said just let us know of your concerns in a review. I was very disappointed in how they approached the issues I had, especially as I had to sleep another night in an uncomfortable bed. The positives are it’s in a great location. This was first time to Liverpool, with myself and my wife really enjoying our time and are planning on coming again. However, we won’t be using the same hotel.
My only poor comment is the very poor wifi service. If i did not better i would think it was dial up speed
We had severe issues parking to jnload our baggage, then it took avwhile for them to gind a luggage cart. The parking is offsite so with one way systems, its easy yo get list finding parking. Our room was in between fllors serviced by a lift so my wife who has walking difficulties found it had to walk up and down a floor just to get to an lift. The bath was so high that we both had trouble climbing in and out to use the shower. Then on check out, we had to have one of the staff come to help us with our luggage just go get yo the lift. Then finally, after I hit the car from the car park 2 streets away, I agsin couldn't park near the hotel entrance to load our luggage. Oh, and whn you check in you get a warm cookie, but when we checked out and my wife asked if she could haveva cookie, she was rudely told that they were only for new guests. For the price, this was a horrible stay and I wouldn't recommed this hotel to anyone.
When I arrived to check in at 3pm they told me the room wouldn't be ready till 4pm due to carpet been wet because shower so I left it till 7 ish and I came to room to find a machine on and sign on the door so I took the machine back to reception and the carpet was still wet and it wasn't near shower it was near the bed also the sink was blocked and when the toilet was filling up it made siss noise for a long time also on my floor there was another group in other rooms rolls in at 7 ish in morning and was loud as anything overall very disappointed with the stay I did make a complaint and o would like compensating which I was told you have 72 hrs to get back to me
It was okay
