Good location, central to the main attractions of Darwin center/Mitchell street, clean, quiet with friendly staff.
Great room; friendly staff; good GF food options and awesome pool!
Our family enjoys staying here. It is convenient to the Entertainment Centre which is where my daughter performs every year in her dance concert. The staff are always friendly and too happy to help. Rooms are lovely and plenty for what we need. This stay we got upgraded to a one bedroom king suite which was absolutely swank! We loved it!
Great
Was very clean and quiet. Restaurant and pool Food was great. Staff very helpful.
Good position lovely amenities and very clean
It was a lovely hotel but distance from cbd
Very good hotel.
Very nice hotel. Top on the inside but a little dated on the outside. But best pool in the region ;-)
Only stayed one night as hotel was pick up point for the Ghan railway trip.
Basic in room facilities and value for money
Loved the area. Staff were great - friendly and helpful. I have to admit, though, to being taken aback when I saw a $9.95/day internet charge on my invoice. It had been automatically credited off the account, but I was still negatively surprised. I haven't seen a hotel that charges for WiFi in ages. Makes me have second thoughts about staying at Hilton going forward.
We were disappointed at first when unable to find waterfront accommodation but so happy we didn’t. The Doubletree Hilton was so much better. We loved the green spaces along The Esplanade and the lovely seaview from our room. Although a long walk from the waterfront, close to shops and a couple of Darwin’s best restaurants. Local bus runs behind the hotel and Uber inexpensive.Best features the great pool and wonderful staff. Special compliment to Jeffrey for a great gin and tonic.😁
Loved our stay here. The king room was quite large and the bed very comfortable. Excellent location backing onto Mitchell St. lots of dining options close by. Enormous pool. Highly recommend.
Great location, nice room, nice pool and helpful staff
Great customer service and excellent accommodation with access to pool and gym. Great dining by the pool. Wonderful breakfast selection. Good value for $$.
Great central place to stay on the esplanade in Darwin. The buffet breakfast has something for everyone from freshly cooked eggs, pancakes, fruit, chia pudding, cereals and cooked breakfast items. The staff were fantastic and always willing to help. The pool is a great way to relax after a day of adventure. There’s a pool side bar and restaurant but is also a short walk away from other dining options and shopping.
Second time we stayed and didn’t let us down the old saying goes ‘you get what you pay for’ in that the rates are at the upper end but worth it
Staff were excellent, the location had very easy walk to restaurant, bars and attractions. Even though the property is older the hotel is very well maintained.
Thanks
Very well presented
Clean, modern, maybe just a sterile but that seems to be the norm now.
The occasion for our stay was our wedding. The staff were wonderful and provided beyond our expectations. Thank you very much.
Was well located, staff helpful, easy for transport
Over priced food that was mostly uneatable unless you were starving to death.
Hotel is in a great location in Darwin. Easy access to shopping and dining. Pool is large and plenty of sun lounges. Lovely buffet breakfast.
Only thing we didn't like was no sheet on the bed. To cold without anything and to hot with the donna
The staff here were fantastic, the pool and gym were great. Loved having access to a washer and dryer onsite as well. Car parking was easy - access in & out was hassle free. Walking distance to shops, cafes, pubs and shopping. We would definitely return to this place.
Wonderful stay
Loved the bathroom products. Very comfortable bed and large room. The pool was fabulous. Friendly and very helpful staff. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
We had family emergency and they didn’t want to change our dates in hotel. Very disappointed
Close to CBD and to public transport. Nice walls along the Esplanade
A superb stay. Wonderful friendly staff. Great location. Fabulous pool so well maintained. Great breakfast.
Mr Black
Great hotel with nice pool rooms have been refurbished with nice new bathrooms. Great beds and pillows close to town and great view of Darwin harbor.
Great location. Comfortable beds. Clean and tidy
A good a clean hotel in a convenient location in Darwin
Nice hotel. Good location.
Great, convenient place to stay
Great location for access to Darwin restaurants and sights. Great pool and pool bar area provides relaxed dining option. Rooms clean and sufficient space with lovely outlook. Friendly and helpful staff.
The staff were so friendly and inviting
Not good
Rat joined us for breakfast!
Hotel closing down. No restaurant, pool closed early, bar closed. Rat seen at breakfast. Staff were good though. Would not stay again if they paid us.
Bit old and run down. Took a long time to check in and took over an hour to get our drinks after ordering.
Nice location on the esplanade. Able to walk to the wharf to a range of restaraunts. Clean, great staff.
This hotel is located close to the city east walk to central area, restaurants and Darwin Wharf area ( or a short ride). Staff are helpful. The pool and joining outdoor eating/bar area are lovely and the gym is well equipped. The rooms, however, are in need of total refurb for the price and star rating. Bathroom has a shower curtain and no storage. Decor drab and door entry system required us to have key card reconfigured every other day.
Very disappointed , no bottled water in room , when I asked reception they replied stating “tap water just as good” ( actually was most definitely not) Room facility’s old and require update, ie. Bathroom door was difficult to open when closed ( jammed) Shower leaked water near toilet! Will def not stay their again or recommend 😢😢
This hotel is well located but given the cost is run down. The air conditioning unit in our room was like a jet engine which meant we had to turn it off. My brother had a torn towel in his room. The shower gel was empty for two days even though I asked for it to be replaced. I wouldn't recommend.
OK shower very small would benefit from an upgrade very tired and old. Friendly staff clean and comfortable however over priced in my view
We enjoyed our stay at Doubletree Darwin. The room was clean and comfortable, the pool was excellent and great buffet breakfast. The location was also great being across the road from lovely park area and also close to lots of shops and attractions in central Darwin
Staff were very friendly and helpful 10/10. Rate the room 3 stars, bathroom need updating, shower very small.
Excellent pool. Pleasant outlook.
restaurant/cafe food could be better
Great location
Terrible WiFi No water in the room
Staff checked us in well before check in time. Our kids got 2 double tree Hilton cookies. Overall it was a good experience!
The room (king deluxe) was clean but lacked cutlery & eating materials & no microwave. The food (ordered by room service) cost at additional charge & the portions of some food ordered was ridiculous in regard to the cost. But it was tasty. Price of cocktails were reasonable. Price during the wet season is reasonable but very expensive during dry season. It was great the gym was open 24hrs but you could only wash/dry your clothes (in the laundry) from 8am - 8pm & there was an additional charge. If you wanted to have a cigarette after 10pm you had to go out the front as any door to outside was locked & connecting door from underground hotel car park (additional charge - again) to the hotel was locked by 9pm.
Overall well presented room. Super comfy bed and nice pillows and bedding. Living area very clean. Bathroom roof leaked some kind of gel sealant and shower had hair stuck to the wall in two places. Friendly and helpful staff.
Guest room really needed a refurb, especially the bathroom.
Great spot in the city.
Location
Love how great the bed was
The swimming pool at this hotel was closed for renovation. I believe that we should have been made aware of this when booking
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. It was disappointing that the pool and surrounds were under construction, however, we were able to use the pool next door which was great. Although the breakfast buffet was nice, it was not topped up often and perhaps a little more variety alternating some dishes could be good. It became a bit monotonous after 5 days. The icy water in reception is a welcome treat after being outdoors for the day.
Very relaxed stay.
The hotel is very dated and not really in the best position if you'd like to go to the nicer restaurants around Darwin. Mitchell St behind the hotel is pretty dodgy. Personally I feel the Vibe is a better location and the rooms are a lot more modern. Staff at Double Tree are very helpful and did assist me in changing rooms at a very early hour.
Lovely restaurant and buffet breakfast. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Would be nice to have a balcony, with such a nice view it was a shame to look into sun protection mesh. Bathroom was very old, outdated and tied, but great water pressure in the shower. Needed wine glasses provided in rooms.
Great stay!
Staff at Double Tree are very helpful. They assisted me to check in early and check out late. Location is also convenient, close to everything. Highly recommended!
Overall it was quite good, however, for a 4 star hotel I would expect a proper shower door ( not broken curtains).
No air con
Family holiday but left very uncomfortable with now air conditioning. Staff tried fixing but couldn’t and provided no solution. Very disappointing and won’t stay there again
Clean friendly staff in a good position. Very white & grey
Very noisy and t v did not work
Wonderful stay close to town
Great, Quiet and clean hotel. Great view and easy walk to town. Darwin Centre was perfect being being hotel. Breakfast great and pool great for doing laps or just chilling. Check in staff were super friendly.
Great pool but very expensive for the location.
Great location, great house keeping, clean and tidy. A bit over priced for the type of accommodation. All in all good amenities.
The service was fantastic. Helpful front desk staff. The facilities are great. Would stay there again
Overall it is a pleasant hotel in a good location. Unfortunately there aren’t enough staff around the pool bar which made it a little frustrating.
Very happy with every aspect of our stay
Property was tired. Staff great. Room cleanliness leaves a bit to be desired
The pictures advertised for the room were grossly different to what we received. The shower had a shower curtain which haven't been around since the 80's and is not representative of an "Executive Suite". The bath was not big enough to fit an adult, the lighting in the room was very poor and overall the room was very outdated and was not worthy of the $600 that we paid.
Staff at the front desk gave excellent customer service
The hotel position was in a quiet and close location to shops and restaurants and bars. A $9 uber fare to Mindel Beach Markets.
The young lady at reception was amazing with her recommendations of good restaurants close by!
I liked the whole experience of staying there. All staff were friendly and helpful.
It’s an older building, but it’s between the Esplanade & Mitchell St, so it’s close to the best bits of Darwin.
Hotel is looking dated. Not what I would expect from the Hilton Hotel chain. Drinking glasses were not washed or changed but simply replaced on shelf. Bathroom had mould in it. Towels were thin and frayed. Restaurant food was average. No drinking water supplied in room.
Beautiful pool, nice rooms and staff friendly and considerate overall. Lovely location on the esplanade. However at breakfast staff had very little idea about gluten-free options and not particularly helpful in working out what may be gluten free. Disappointing at a Hilton.
Nice hotel in central Darwin
We had a really lovely stay in central Darwin - the concierge staff are friendly & helpful, the room was clean & comfortable (although the bathroom is dated, it was clean) pool was great with lots of lounge chairs & umbrellas for shade. Would happily stay again!
I know property has been there for a long time, but it is kept very well, pool is great.
Great place to stay. Cookies on arrival free parking and friendly reception staff. Comfy beds late checkout. Wouldn't stay on 1st level the noise of people gathering around foyer echoes up to the room and woke me up at 7am.
Its value
Location was excellent on the Esplanade. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Great Hotel Experience
Location was fantastic and parking was free prove Ided by the hotel. Pool was fantastic and kids love it
Great place to stay, bathroom was dated and shower leaked.
Very COVID safe property. Lovely swimming pool & very comfortable guest room.
Great location. Friendly staff. Comfortable n relaxing
Excellent
Excellent location and very friendly helpful staff we would definitely stay again
Location is great. Close to park across the road. Restaurant and cafe not to far walking distance.
Very old and bathrooms below standard. Pool very nice, but rooms need upgrades
Reception staff were very friendly and Accomodating. Accomodation was rather tired. Room service food was very ordinary and unfortunately just couldn’t eat it.

Well located near to town. Room large and clean. Lovely pool area. Breakfast more than adequate but could do with different options of hot food during a week long stay
