Miles, Glenn, and the entire bar staff are top notch!!!

Convenient to stay if playing golf at the course. Rooms are very basic. Refrigerator & microwave in room. No coffee, hair dryer. Window a/c unit which kept room cool but slightly noisy when cycling on & off. Physical key to door, only one per room. Dining was not used nor was any dining observed. Breakfast options are next to none; coffee 7-9 with cereal & packaged danish/muffins. Staff extremely courteous and friendly.

No included breakfast was really the only negative thing.

Very noisy air conditioner. Very noisy from other rooms.

My stay

The motel is a little dated but you will get a good nights sleep and the people that work there are the nicest people you will ever meet. The golf course is well kept and beautiful.

The outdoor pool was large and had lots of seating. Staff was not friendly and didn’t provide any information and when you asked questions they seemed put out. I was totally ignored at the restaurant when I went to ask a question. Server actually pretended not to see me. The room stunk so bad that I had to go out and buy room deodorizer. The air conditioner was the loudest ever and I’m not sure why it worked even when it was 54 degrees out.

Escape from Hurricane Milton

Pleasanty surprised. Bar and food available after a long drive leaving the Tampa area before the hurricane. Staff friendly, rooms were available so very thankful.

The staff was excellent given that the place was completely booked with people getting out of the way of hurricane Helina. Very friendly and accommodating.

Wasn’t happy in the End

Clerk was nice 1st impression of room spelled good and looked clean. I started spraying my disinfectant and surfaces and they were dirty. Woke to go to the bathroom and woke up to a huge bug that made it’s way in my daughters bed

This is a below average property to stay in. Will not be going back.

The golf at night is awesome

Showed up for my room at about 10:15pm to check-in into our room that was reserved to find the office locked up for the night. Called the number on the door staying that they were on the property but found out by the voice on the phone that they were closed at 9:45 pm and no one was available to check us in for the evening and got an apology for our loss. They did try to call us before they left for the night but my cellphone was dead at the time and a message was left but not before screwing up or evening. Ended up driving an extra 3 hrs to get to our home north of Montgomery to get to bed. They should not have taking the reservation with informing us that they weren't able to staff the check-in office for our arrival. Every unsatisfied.

The hotel states it’s been updated in 2020. Appearance says otherwise. Very outdated. The hotel does not honor the price hotels.com sends to you. There is a door to join your room to the people next door. You can hear everything through the walls. Next room over was a smoking room and you constantly could smell the smoke coming through the joint door. The only thing good about this place was their golf course and they did have a nice pool.

The property just needs an update and pest control. Germans are not okay during my stay!! The bed was comfy but the floors and bathroom was in disrepair and in neee of cleaning. New furnishings do not make up for the bugs. Also i requested non smoking and was given a smoking room!! The place was not that packed so i dont understand. I came down for an emergency after my mother had a stroke and this was an unfortunate stay.

GREAT ADVENTURE

VERY INTERESTING PLACE; ITS OLD BUT STILL VERY NICE. WE LOVED LOOKING AT ALL THE ANTIQUE MEMORABILIA ALL THREWOUT THE BUILDING. THE MINERAL POOL WAS AWESOME AND THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE!

Property needs updating ,Where do I start?Let's start with bathroom toilet leaked water and ran water till I cut water off.When I cut water back on water pipes was real loud.Bathtub was rusted and water dipped from faucet continuously.Matttess old and very uncomfortable .

Nice affordable pricing

The hotel was good, and the golf course was in good shape and had a nice layout. the price on expedia was not the same at the hotel, when i went to pay. It isn't the first time i have used this service and had that experience or the hotel was terrible condition. I think you should personally have employees inspect these facilities. The experiance was good overall.

Overall was a good experience, rooms and lot were dirtier than the pictures showed. And the hot mineral thing is just a hot chlorine pool. But still very nice and relaxing. We will definitely be back. But hopefully they can eventually clean up a little better

It’s ok, a bit old and the bed was thin and hard, however, extremely convenient to the places I was going.

I've stayed at this location years ago as well as this past weekend. The staff is great. The restaurant is great. The bar onsite is a plus. We really enjoyed our little getaway. The only negative is the age although it is obvious they are addressing this with current remodeling. This did not effect our stay and will not prevent us from returning. All in all, we give them a 👍.

This is not a hotel it’s a motel and it’s a big difference when you’re a female traveling alone. I do not recommend this property to anyone the lobby was filled with drunk men. Please don’t waist your money.

It's has seen better days.

A hate to give a poor review, and I would hate to own and operate a hotel and this is why. This hotel really has seen better days. Everything is shabby and dirty. The linens are worn out. The walls need washed and painted (dirty around light switches, door knobs, etc.), the mattresses are bowed, the lamps are mis-matched. At 6am no one could be found to open the breakfast (several people waiting). It was a hotel that I almost just left once I saw the room.

Very outdated. Base of walls were crumbling. The bathtub water does not immediately go down. The sink was outdated and no stopper. I was there on family emergency so I didn't stay in the room at all the first day. The front desk clerk was very nice and courteous. The hotel is just very run down. I would not stay here again

At one time, this would have been a great place to stay, but it seems to have fallen on hard times. The "better room" the clerk assigned us was musty and the bathroom door had to be forced open and closed due to warping. It just had a general feeling of not being clean. There were no instructions about accessing the wifi in the room and the front desk area was closed. We called the phone number listed on the door but no one answered. We were never able to connect to the wifi. The price I was charged was not the amount on my Expedia booking, but I did not realize it until the next morning. We knew this was a discount hotel, but still expected a minimum amount of cleanliness and service.

Very dated. Personnel nice enough. Breakfast non-existent. Cereal but no milk.

The only dislike I had, was the outdated window unit. Looked as if there may have been some mold starting to form on the vents of it. Overall pleasant stay

Basic so don’t expect much

This hotel is old and outdated, however the people who run it are wonderful. The little restaurant and bar on the property has good, inexpensive homemade food. I had the BLT, Chicken salad sandwich, Chicken tenders and cheeseburger & all was freshly made. Not microwaveable bacon or package chicken salad. The internet was terrible so that was a slight issue. The rooms are a bit outdated, no coffee pots, and could have been cleaner (liquids spilt on walls & chair was dirty) the beds are not very comfortable but they were clean! Make sure and ask them to plug in the refrigerator BEFORE you arrive. Breakfast is basic. Pool is huge. Mineral pool inside should be hot & it was cold. I believe the new owners just need time to get it up to date. We stayed for a softball tournament & it was fine for us & a couple teammates to grab some inexpensive food without having to drive around town. Golf course seems okay. I would definitely recommend a room on the second floor over looking the course. I did not like people hanging out outside their rooms in the parking lot. This made me feel unsafe because my door was facing outside. Overall is was fine just for a place to sleep. My major complaint is the parking lot people and the outdated rooms with no coffee pot. The rooms definitely need a deep Cleaning. Maybe removing the carpet. Smells musty. But the staff were all very nice. Oh, they have an outside patio off the restaurant with live music.

The overall look was bad. It’s a side of the road dig. If I had family with me I would not have stayed there. It was late in the evening when I got there, so that’s the only reason I stayed. They definitely need to upgrade.

We liked the history and beauty of the hotel. The hotel is old but very clean and the room was comfortable, clean and quiet.

Nothing fancy, but cheap and I slept well.

The photos are NOT indicative of this hotel - upon arrival, it was a literal dump; there were clear indications that drugs are sold out of the rooms; there were people that looked homeless; it is ALL exterior entrances, etc.

The staff is really nice, and so are the towels. That’s it! Everything else is awful. Pics are deceiving! This place USED to be nice, maybe back in 1984. Such a huge property that they haven’t been able to upkeep properly. All maintenance and ‘repairs’ are sloppy and unprofessional. Looks like a non-skilled handy man built the room. Evidence of leaks, poorly laid tile, door knobs falling off. The door had no deadbolt, and moved so much that you could almost open it using your finger and not a key. No safety at all. The curtains were actually see through, the air conditioners wouldn’t stay on, extension cords run for things to plug in, old uncomfortable mattress, weird smell. Just not the quality at all of other more reasonable priced places. I truly felt bad for the staff, and actually just considered going to a different place. Unfortunately, I stayed. I recognized the added value of a free breakfast included! When I went to eat in the morning after a painful nights sleep, EVERY single package of bagels put out had an expiration of April 4th!!! Mind you, the date I went was the 18th! So disgusting. Couldn’t trust ANYTHING that was there. I went to the office and they were shocked to learn about all the expired food and went there to verify with me. They just apologized. No refund of any kind, or offering of newer unexpired food. Again, the people were nice and friendly, but they can’t maintain this place properly. You couldn’t pay me to stay there again.

Excellent facility for cost.

Staff was rude when we got there it took the like 10 minutes to help us and then they told us they didn't have any rooms available even though we had a reservation

I was not able to get a room there even though I booked one. Their booking system was messed up and they kept sending me to rooms that already had guest in them. After the third attempt I gave up. There seemed to be a lot of transient people living in the hotel. And they even had camper set up in the parking lots.

Bed was hard as a rock. No TV or Internet in the room

Overnight stay

We stayed here for 1 night on the way to the beach. The location was great, it was right off of the main road and near downtown Dothan. The check-in was quick and easy and the service was great. Also, the rooms were very spacious. The walls were very thin and we could hear everybody walking around outside. Also, there was no lock on the door; luckily it stayed locked from the outside, still a little different that there was no lock. For the price, location, and convenience, I would definitely stay here again.

Property was just outdated. No upgrades except TV over last 30 years

Not a good place to stay

This is a very run-down property, needing a total make-over, at least as far as the individual rooms go. The key doesn't fit very well, so the door was hard to open. It was really really cold, and the little in-wall heater puts out only warm air - not hot. It cannot heat even that one room sufficiently. Tub and sink needed replacing. Water comes up way too high in toilet. Bed was just ok, but very narrow. TV was hung improperly - not adjustable, and crooked, No liner for curtains, so no way to shut out light.

Very out dated. The weather was cold and the room had no heat other than a space heater. We had to request a blanket for the bed. It would be recommended to remove this hotel from your listing.

Pleasant and accommodating staff. Property was a bit old but we’ll maintained. Comfortable stay.

Hotel on Golf Course property. Staff very friendly and efficient. Could not get refridgerator to work, but luckily it was relatively cold during my stay so put items requiring refrigeration outside my door. Traveling and needed wifi for various coordination purposes but was very weak and would not stay continously connected. Only usable about 1/3 of the time I needed it so moved on to another property. Wish weather had been nicer during my stay as the golf course looked well kept!

Good night's sleep for a great rate

Miles took great care of us, getting us checked in quickly and smoothly. Our room, as always, was just fine. It's not a big fancy chain hotel but it is clean and safe! My family has been staying here on our way to Florida for 30 plus years. We love the hot mineral spring spa. It's why we come here! Ms. Jessie is always sweet too! Love the Dothan National!

Did not play golf but stayed overnight. Facility was good overall. Loved the heated pool/spa. Comfortable bed, clean room. Unusual that there was no phone in the room.

All was wonderful

The property had a golf course connected to it. The room itself was beat-up looking. There was no hair dryer or kleenex available. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

For the staff, all nice, hard working, clean rooms. The Hotel Online Sites need to help them - Check in Time is Not 11am. I was there at 1pm, but because they had clean rooms they were gracious to allow me to check in.

The hotel definitely had some history. It was absolutely beautiful inside. The rooms are plenty big and as all the amenities you could ask for. The staff checking in were extremely humble. It will be definitely where I'll stay anytime I visit Dothan Motorsports Park. Please do not allow the outside fool you. It's awesome to see someone keep history alive.

This property locks up and goes home at 9pm. You can't get in, reservation or not. I made my reservation via Expedia at 11pm and arrived in property just before midnight. Imagine my surprise- and disappointment when I couldn't get in. I don't blame the hotel. Expedia should not have allowed the reservation to be made if I couldn't even get to the hotel before they closed down the front desk. The good news... The hotel did not charge my card so I didn't lose any money.

The staff was super friendly and went out of there way to be helpful. The only thing that we had a problem with was the bed. It was very firm and Very noisy! We both didn't get a lot of sleep that night. The room was ok. Not great but not bad either. Just ok or 5 out of 10..
