Beautiful views from the rooms! Good breakfast to get your day started and absolutely lovely staff.

Great lodge with Sauna, rooms were all a good size and 3 bathrooms was a massive help. No cost on the local buses if you are a skier. Restaurant good and so is the shop, swimming pool is lovely but needs to be warmer esp for little ones.

Excellent and relaxing!

The resort was fantastic! The location was convenient to other attractions around the area! We have enjoyed the resort so much that we didn’t want to leave. However, one minor thing to note was that the oven lamp couldn’t turn off. So that was the minor comment about the hotel.

This property's view outside is breathtaking, 5 minute drive into town . Walking distance to the market and restaurants . The chalet inside is clean, a sauna inside the chalet, fireplace … just get your firewood at the market . Couldn’t ask for a better place . And to top it off the price is unbeatable for you get .

Fair room to stay. Some of the facilities are closed during the stay eg. restaurant, swimming pool. Room is fine but don't expect it would be so clean. Pizzeria near the resort saved us for all the dinner.

Amazing place to visit

The location was great. The view was breathtaking. Cons. Downstairs bathroom shower head broken so it wouldn't stay put. Mold in bathroom showers. Upstairs bathroom shower door vome off tge track easily. They need fixed.

Besides not having air conditioning, the hotel was awesome. Nice large room with sitting area and balcony. Had to leave the window open because of no air conditioning. (most of Europe) Right on Hallstatt Lake and across from Hallstatt in which you can walk to from the hotel.

The lake was part of the resort

This cottage is better than I expected, it has the full kitchen with everything you need in the room. Parking was free, next to the room. Even if it runs out of space next to the room, the bigger parking lot is also not far. The bus stop is super close and easy to find. We parked our car after checking out and took the bus to go to Hallstatt (two stops), round trip 5.2 euro, once very hour. There is boat can take you to Hallstatt too which we didn't know, we would have done that.

Well equipped cottage Not as nice as pictures and not worth price

We had great time . The only issues that w had is with the kitchen equipment that was old and not sufficient.

Quiet place to get away from huddle and bustle of touring. Hallstatt is a bus ride away. The only negative is that during our stay it was during a heat wave and the chalet’s have no air conditioning. Open the windows and let some of the air in. It was difficult sleeping.

The location of the property is good with multiple access option to the centre. We had to wait until 4pm to check in although both our booking and their website shows the checkin to be at 3pm, even after we requested them for early check. Also the room we stayed in had really bad drain smell, that we couldnt leave the bathroom door open or use it. We could have got unlucky with the room we got but wouldnt want to go there again.

Property is located in an excellent location right on Hallstatt lake and views from property are very nice. There is a play area for kids. Property is spacious.

Nice resort in a beautiful place

Very nice resort, clean room. Located in a beautiful town, near the lake and mountains. Close to train station so it was convenient for us. Unfortunately the reception staff is not friendly and welcoming. You literally have to beg for any information. No smiling no desire to communicate. Seems they are suffering at work and hate what they do. Resort is super nice but people cold and rude.

Great location, enjoyed our stay. Loved the area and amenities. Only complaint is cleanliness of room, spiderwebs in corners and floors dirty.

The hotel is an antique building, very nice decorated. Breakfast is very good. The parking id a little far away because cars cant come in into the town.

Near to Obertraun Dachsteinholen railway station and bus stop to Dachstein Ice Cave, Hallstatt town. With a mini-mart, restaurant, bike rental. Quiet & peaceful. Friendly staff can speak English well.

The resort was nearly perfect. The only draw back was the room distribution , accompanied by seniors , it was very diificult to climb the stairs. It would have been very helpful if one of the bedrooms was in the main floor.

Very handy for Hallstatt but much easier for parking - you can get the boat across the lake.

Great fully equipped property in beautiful setting. The drawback was that there was some construction going on at the train tracks outside our bedroom window - it would have been nice to have been pre-warned of this, or to have been offered an alternate location to avoid the noise.

Definitely a great Resort - close to Lake Hallstatt where you have your very own piece of paradise. Short drive to Hallstatt. Highly recommend service on all levels was great.

Great place! Amazing, helpful and friendly staff (we got tons of advices what to do and what to sightsee). Chalets new and well equipped. In current situation it is good you have fully equipped kitchen if you wanted to avoid restaurants. Swimming pool and sauna (extra charge) booked for certain time slots to allow keeping safe distancing, which meant we were there alone. Everything clean. Breakfast buffet very good. Excellent location in Salzkammergut area.

Modern, clean, well-equipped

A great resort. Modern, clean, well-equipped apartment, with a great little terrace. We only stayed one night as a base for visiting Hallstatt, the location was ideal, only a short boat ride over the lake. Would have loved to stay longer and make more use of the resort facilities.

The desk clerk was the friendliest, most enthusiastic person I have encountered in decades. I wish people were half as nice as she was. Excellent service. FYI, the GPS doesn’t actually get you to the hotel (follow the signs for the pizza restaurant and keep your eyes open for the resort).

Amazing grounds and location! The cleaning fee is steep and would be better if it was altogether in the price. A shuttle to and from Hallstatt would be a great aspect for the resort.

Sitting close to mountains and hallstatt lake. Service and facility were impeccable, house was new and restaurant was delicious.

The location was beautiful but the experience in the home was very uncomfortable as there were no fans provided and the AC did not work. We were sleeping in a cabin that was close to 30 degrees. A lot of the amenities did not work and it was inconvenient for the reception to close at 6pm. The pricing of this place was ridiculously expensive. Definitely a huge tourist trap with hidden fees. The experience would have been worth if it was half of the cost but if im paying that much for a night, at least not let us drown in our sweat while we sleep.

Dirty House

When we entered the house, it was full of unpleasant smell. The floor around the kitchen area was oily and sticky. Shampoo and soap were still in the toilet left by the previous guest. It was as though the house has not been cleaned. I requested for a change of house but none was available. The lady at the reception (evening time) was helpful though. She gave me a fragrance room spray to help with the smell and ask the house keeping team to clean up again in the morning. I came back the next evening, the house has been cleaned, it was better, but the cleanliness of the kitchen area was still not up to standard (still oily). Also, the shampoo and shower was provided for only 1 set even though i rented a house with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. I think it should be provided in every bathroom. It doesn't have to be refilled everyday like what they do at hotels but at least once at check-in.

Very nice Resort Cabins surrounded by mountains

On the lake. Near trails. Next to the train stop. Great cabins. Equipment for cooking. Good book in the cabins explaining how to work kitchen appliances, etc. Know that this is not a classic "hotel" but more like a "cabin rental". So the cleaning and linen fees are understandable. Bring your own toilet paper and toiletries. This is an amazing place. Clean and functional. Stay for more than 1 night!

Wonderful stay, steep cleaning fees.

Overall, we loved the resort. The cabins were well appointed and the views are unbeatable. Travelers should be aware there is a significant fee on top of your nightly room rate for linens and cleaning fee. For the amount that they charged us, the cabin should have been impeccable. There was wine or food spilled on the wall behind the dining area from a previous guest. Disappointing when they charge you so much for a cleaning fee. I also wish that they would provide dish cleaning soap for that cost. We had to buy our own at the local market. We would, however, stay here again and we know exactly what to expect. The location is just outside of Hallstatt. There are bike rentals on the property and an easy ride into town. Quick drive to Dachstein Krippenstein/ski area. Beautiful views from the property and an short walk to the lake front directly on the resort.

hotels.com marks that iomes with cleaning. hotel wants to charge 200 euro for cleaning for one night. so on top of the 330 euro they wanted 200 extra totally 530 euro for one night! hotels.com should drop this hotel like a brick.

don't mind pay £140 if u clean daily

location was great price was good but had to add £140 for sevice change on top of booking fee , although don't mind paying but at least they should clean every day n change towns but non was done so in that note not worth £140 service charge

It's a scam! They asked me for 140€ As cleaning fees at the time of check-in, on top of 95€ that I had already paid for the room. I do understand that resorts have similar fee but it should be mentioned while booking the room if it is a mandatory charge.

THIS HOTEL IS A TOTAL SCAM

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! They charged a hidden excessive cleaning fee, bedding and towels fees approximately $200 on top of its listed price of nightly stay. These fees were undisclosed in your booking confirmation so you will never know it until the day you check in and was forced to pay! Their staff were rude and never care. All they said was "you have to pay!" BE CAUTION if you don't be ripped off! .

Be careful - this place is a scam

To make it short - this could be a great property. Unfortunately, the hotel charges for towels, cleaning etc. and this is not outlined in the booking overview at Hotels.com. We booked a room for EUR83,99 and ended up having to pay EUR 224. The staff at the reception seemed to know that this was happening and they were outright rude. This stay literally ruined our vacation. Being ripped off like that feels horrible. I am not sure where the problem is: with the hotel or hotels.com. But overall, a really bad stay.

Be Careful and Caution about hidden fees !!!!!

it was amazing deal from Expedia's app but i guess things are "too good to be true" all the time. it shows Eur 84 per stay and we end up paid $218 for one night of staying due to the cleaning fee and hotel towels charges. I should say it was less then 12hrs staying. we even told them we have our own towels but forgive me if i am wrong!!! Towels? those are MUST "Things" for a HOTEL should've provided instead of charge on customer!!! what's next? Toilet papers? we are willing to pay a reasonable amount of cleaning fee because we do understand the services fee but $126/changes for 2 person less then 12hrs stay its way to much.

Short Vacation Stay

Our stay at Obertraun was a hit and miss. It was a great location to visit Hallstatt, Dachstein Mountain and the local gorge. It was also ideal because we had our fur baby which made it so much easier to get him in and out for walks. The kitchen or the use of the appliances was a mystery but great to have for convienence. I was not please by the reception received. Unfortunately, we did not notify the bank before going into another country. This usually isn't a problem but this time it was. I asked to use their phone, internet or to help with alternate communication access and I was only told no with a smile. It was very stressful but found an ATM and was able to get funds. Even after offering cash for the first night so we can go to the room and use Wifi to contact the bank, the first lady at the reception denied us. However, the second lady that came forward was very polite and said that we could wait upon checkout to pay which is how they usually do it anyway. She wasn't sure why the first receptionist told us otherwise. Later when we returned to pay, I noticed they had us in a chateau that didn't allow dogs. When I informed her of my request for a chateau that allowed animals she informed me it wasn't on my reservations nor was it kids (although I had my print out) I had to enter into a negation to allow us to stay which of course consisted of paying more money. The beds and pillows were horrible!! If I returned I would certainly bring my own pillow!!
