We stayed here and did two of the Maya Walk tours. It’s very close to the pickuo point. It’s an Inexpensive, unassuming, tidy and comfortable place. Hugo was present all the time to answer questions or open a door for me. The rooms are air conditioned but not the common areas. The shared kitchen was basic but had everything I needed including a coffee maker, stove and fridge. The price is right. Don’t hesitate.
Location for me personally
Hugo was great, very accommodating. The location was convenient, easy to walk around town. The hotel is older but clean and meet our needs. The price was right!
Nice guesthouse. Helpful host. WiFi wasn't consistently available.
Very central, quiet, good value. Use of kitchen with provided coffee, tea, sugar etc.
Owner/manager was very responsive and helpful. If you're looking for an affordable place for a night or two that is in the heart of the city this is a good option.
Great guest house
Stayed 4 nights. Great location. Walk to everything. Friendly staff that were very helpful and flexible. Basic guest house with shared kitchen. Highly recommend for families that want to explore and not stay in their rooms all day.
Just right for the price point. Free reign of a kitchen was great. Friendly staff.
This property was close to downtown and the places I wanted to go. The owner was nice and helpful, and the kitchen was great! Shower could have used a deep cleaning, but other than that, I was very happy with the guest house!
Very close to the middle of town. The owner was very nice as well.
Great place, good value. Nice and clean. Friendly host.
Good Value and Quite, downtown San Ignacio
So really, I should give this place a 10/10, if your looking for a budget place downtown San Ignacio, but it is extremely quite, great location, use of the kitchen , on the other side, not a 3 star place, a bit tired looking, almost has a hostel feel but private bathrooms, and beds where descent....good value, would go back, but not for my honeymoon...
Western Guest House
The Western Guest House was a decent budget hotel. It was an easy walk for the place where our bus dropped us off (Belize City Water Taxi to San Ignacio Shuttle Bus) and to the main bus station in town. Upon arrival there the door to the entrance was locked but it was not long before the manager happened to open it, just about at the same time my companion made a call to him from a near by shop. Once the entry/exit procedures were outlined our stay went quite well. The room was not very large and the bathroom was small and fairly clean (there were a couple of large beetles in the shower drain at night but nothing was noticed elsewhere). There was a communal kitchen which we used for breakfast and storing drinks and snacks in the refrigerator. The hotel has a small deck overlooking the street. The location was good, it was right on the edge of the main down town area and easy walking to restaurants, shops, bus, tour operators and the local sites. Good value for the money, cleanliness, housekeeping were reasonable, the location very good, the manager provided good service.
San Ignacio's affordable safe alternative
Attentive manager, clean, safe, quiet
Clean, large kitchen and common area, nice porch, great location, great host. Bed a little soft.
This was the perfect place for us in San Ignacio. It was literally steps away from the main tourist street yet away enough to remain quiet. The host was very nice. There was fresh fruit on the table every day and filtered water to refill your bottle for free. The only thing I would change is perhaps brighter lights. Otherwise, perfect!
Everything was excellent here. Perfect location for walking in town and for pick ups for tours. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower had hot water and good pressure. Ac worked well.
Great place in downtown San Ignacio
Perfect location two blocks from downtown and two blocks from the bus station. Room was comfortable with great AC. Staff was friendly and helped us book a tour. Great option to stay at in San Ignacio- thanks!
A gem of a place to stay
The place was 1) clean 2) had Wi-Fi 3) air conditioning 4) hot shower 5) quiet 6) safe 7) parking 8) pleasant hosts What else can I say? It’s a great place to stay and the price is right too!

We brought our 3 teenage sons here and it was perfect! Clean and in the center of town. We did lots of tours in every direction and it felt like a central location for all of that, too.
