Very pleasant
Staff wonderful
My family of 4 stayed at Divi Dec 4-11. We absolutely loved it. We have no complaints. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend others to choose this hotel. Here are some of the highlights that we enjoyed about Divi: Dover beach- Wow. Stunning beach, very quiet as the hotel is situated at the end of the beach…we felt we had a private beach most of the time. Swimming was beautiful. The grounds- immaculate. They do a really nice job keeping everything clean and well maintained. The mini putt was really fun. We played a few rounds everyday. The pickleball and tennis courts looked well maintained… Pools- the main pool is really nice. However the smaller pool at the side of the hotel was a hidden gem! We usually used that pool in the morning and had it all to ourselves. The pool that is Oceanside is also really nice. Staff- didn’t really interact with anyone, but everyone was always friendly. Location- easy walking to restaurants and bars. We also walked to Massys grocery store a few times. Also the hotel is right on the main road for buses and ZR’s if you need to get around. Carlisle bay and Oistens are 10 minutes away. The room- loved having the separate bedroom. The kids were on the pullout couch..didn’t look very comfortable but they are kids in Barbados, they can’t complain! The kitchen was well stocked with all the requirements for light cooking. The coffee maker and filters were definitely appreciated. Overall, we loved it!
Comfortable clean suites. Beautiful property with well-maintained pools & direct access to beach & ocean. The staff was friendly & helpful in every way.
Great stay
The stay was amazing. However housekeeping needs to pay attention to details a bit more.upon check no face tissue ,no phine in the room. The dish soap bottle could me inprove with a miniature bottle of palm olive soap liquid also a hand towel or kichen towel could be added to the kitchenette.Other that these minnor issues the room was clean an the stay was amazing.
What we didn’t like was the shower. There was no water pressure and took forever to shower. It was horrible to say the least.
The suites at the property offer extra space to stretch out a little for the price of a regular room. The hotel staff are very helpful and accommodating.
Recently enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and comfy, and quiet. The rooms are a bit dated but we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One thing I would hope to see next time is to update the tvs because they were old, there was only 8 channels and the tv in the living room didn’t work. Room service would be a great addition as well. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.
Facility is spacious convenient and has beautiful beach front amenities. Resort is showing some degree of wear and though still comfortable to stay, could potentially do with some added attention. left a prompted Expedia review associated to a late check in and inconsistent AC temperatures in my room and was then contact by the Hotel staff which was awkward
Stay here for Cropover and was a nice stay. Nice room and resort. Close to Dover beach and right by the Gap. Everything needed is easily accessible and walking distance
Great
The staff at checkin are so polite and friendly. I don’t remember the 2 ladies names at the front desk, but their smiles were so welcoming. I was celebrating my birthday and was in awe when I opened my door and saw how they beautifully decorated my room. I will definitely be staying there anytime I visit Barbados again. I felt safe when I walk on and off the property with my daughter to get food and to buy souvenirs…
Loved that there was an ocean view restaurant.
nice...
I love it there
Good resort, would stay there again.
The location was great, the staff were awesome and the rooms very clean. My only concern is the quality of the WiFi and better tvs.
Divi Lawrence Gap
3rd time visiting the Divi, its location is perfect (St Lawrence Gap) and pool is one of the best ever, rooms are great, the only thing that lets it down are the staff - efficient yes but not welcoming - infact they should rename ‘happy hour’ to smile if you dare hour!
The property needs a complete renovation. Tennis courts don’t have a net, putt putt has not been taken care of, rooms are WAY outdated and dirty. We stayed 6 nights and never received house keeping once. Would never recommend staying here!!
I love the openess of the reservation/lobby area as well as the friendliness and welcoming spirit with rum punch...i enjoyed the location of my room with an average size balcony overlooking the pool area. the property was restful, inviting and clean. all of the staff were very nice and helpful; i was happy to know that there was a beauty parlor on the property where I could get hair manicure services as well as a massage. there was an issue with wi-fi and phone operation in my room; but there was another option provided. I did not like that the rooms were not equipped with a combination tub and shower or that the property had no jacuzzi/whirlpool to enjoy. i would definitely return to Barbardos and to this property. but i want my same room...lol
Security. I think the room I was in needed some renovation.
Very clean, quiet and perfectly located. Will definitely return in the futur, highly recommend this location.
Great place
It was great location and rooms are all suiets
The hotel location is amazing but our experience wasn’t nice. There were three of us in the room, but it was only set up for two, so we constantly had to ask for extra towels. The room itself was filthy and had a musty odor. The kitchen was dirty, and the air conditioning grilles were clogged with dust.
Great place great location
We've gone to Divi for years. The rooms have been updated with new equipment. Keep in mind it has a full kitchen including oven, stove and refrigerator with ice maker. Pure Ocean is a wonderful restaurant, as are Rave and Cafe Sol at the edge of the GAP. Divi is value for the money!
Property located in good area. Safe, clean and the proximity to the beach was great. Staff also great!
The facilities are a little dated and could use some upgrades/attention, but, overall we had a great stay and would definitely come back.
Divi had a great location on St Lawrence Gap, with an ocean front. We travelled with a large group of adults and kids, and the facilities were great for this. Would have liked a more frequent housekeeping schedule (they offered only twice per week), and the dining option was limited. But staff was friendly and very accommodating.
Run down-
Our room was in need of updating and fixing. For example, the microwave should be hung over the oven but sits on the deck end table. Hotel is not filled to capacity… why not use only the best rooms? Much of hotel - all ocean front is not open for use… Divi is typically beautiful… this one needs help. Such potential. Loved the area
Great stay very laid back close to everything and extremely nice helpful hotel staff would definitely stay again see you soon!
Everyone did everything to enable us to continue our holiday
The staff is amazing
I enjoyed the check in process with the front desk. Housekeeping staff was friendly and provided lots of supply. Ground staff and other staff that I met through out the day were very friendly. I am sad to say that the restaurant staff at pure ocean was very problematic. The staff is comprised of mostly young people who were very apathetic to their jobs. I notice unequal treatment between me and white guests at the restaurant. I think a class is needed in diversity and inclusion. Maybe the front desk folks can train the restaurant folks. Overall this place is nice, clean and a safe place to stay.
Great place to stay. The staff was extremely polite and helpful too. The hotel is older, but very clean. I highly recommend this hotel. Susie Carrington/USA
Very nice beachside resort. Foor, pool, staff all top notch.
They messed up on charging me the correct amount upon check in & I tried to get our toilet fixed for several days, just running every so often, not too serious, but a great place overall! The food & beach were excellent. The Manager’s party was fun too.
We are a family of three and it worked for us. Make reservations for dining ahead of time. Also be prepared because the service is island speed. Nice pool and I loved the beach.
Great location but otherwise very average.
The service was great, the people were lovely but the property is tired. Very conveniently located.
Close to everything night life restaurants shops
Good pool, very good staff. Breakfast was the same monotonous brown colour. Except for yellow eggs
Pool by the ocean as well as two other pools. Was well kept.Buffet Breakfast was the same foods every day. Could easily have had done variety and more interesting tropical fruit other than pineapple and melon. Would be useful to have some showers when you come off the beach. In welcome cocktail party could have told of things like craft shows in town and other interesting things to do away from the property.
There should have been at least a bottle of water in the room. The check process was extremely slow - took half an hour. Don't like the birds in the dining area. Otherwise a good stay.

Nice beach across the hotel. Polite and helpful staff.
Everything at and around the property was great.. the beach was the best part!! We were able to walk all ver St. Lawrence Gap and enjoy different types of restaurants everywhere. HAMILTON was awesome!! Highly recommend
Very beautiful with all the Christmas feels. The location is perfect proximity to restaurants and night life. I will most definitely recommend and I will be returning.
Staff went over and beyond
Property was clean
Room was clean and comfortable.
the beach is beautiful at this location. the hotel is close to restaurants, and public transportation. I like that each room is like a one bedroom apartment. One lady was very upset because the WIFI was spotty, it turns out she wanted to be on her phone facetiming loudly at the beach for everyone to hear. This is a quiet peaceful place to come, enjoy good food and unplug. if you want to be glued to your phone please go some place else. Sept 2023
The hotel was nice mostly maintained properly, some of the staff was very professional and friendly. WiFi was not available at all times and the laundry machines could be a bit more maintained.
Great place
Ok
Hotel doesn’t provide daily cleaning as if we are in Covid.
Great hotel, great location
The Wi-Fi was horrible
Property is at strategic location close to many restaurants and hotel amenities such as pool , tennis court , children play area kept clean . Guest service is pathetic and staff is rude specially the staff at reception /Front desk and House keeping.
As ever, lovely rooms as you get a lounge and bedroom. Great location. Very quiet but it was June. We had water ingress problems with our room but it was dealt with swiftly. Have stayed about six times now and would stay again.
All employees were great
Very disappointed with some front desk staff
The staff was wonderful and I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Easy access to the beach.
Had no idea it was a timeshare but the kitchen was handy for light lunches. Huge place but secure with private great beach. Staff were tip top on customer service for helping us with flights etc. Two days out, I checked my cc to see that we had been double-booked, one at our Expedia price and the second much higher plus $445 I have no idea as we paid levies on check out. I asked for a complete invoice which we get everywhere but only got the fees for $135. The most irritating thing is when we arrived early I had booked a mani-pedi at their onsite salon "Glamourous Beauty" leaving our luggage in storage for 4pm check-in. I paid the salon $125US $15 tip(2x price at home) in cash. She never said hotel policy is they take the $ from our cc on file-- nor did anyone at the front desk say so. Expedia was excellent to contact and try to resolve, but so far only commitment is to double billing. I also wrote on their website chat. I am hopeful they will refund as..up to this point...their service was good. But they are a big organization with many sites so watch your Billings.
What you see in the picture, is the actual room: a big fridge sink, stove, microwave, kettle, blender, cutlery, bar stools, a mini living room with couch and tv. The bed is actual in another room and there is toilet and bath.
It’s old and outdated. But beach location good.
This has to be the most unaccommodating hotel we have ever been to and we travel quite frequently. Check-in - we requested an early check-in far in advance of our trip and got a response saying it can be fulfilled at a fee. Upon arrival (with a baby and small child) - not even a tiny attempt to have the room ready before 4pm (we arrived at 9am). When I asked if can possibly get an estimate on time it would be ready, the lady at the counter responded with most attitude to indicate they can't give us any idea. In spite of this, one hour into our room, a stranger was given a keycard in "error" to our room and barged in whilst my small child was changing leaving him mortified for the rest of our trip that a stranger would come into our room. Housekeeping was non existent throughout our stay unless you count new towels at 5-6pm as housekeeping. One day I specifically requested a change of linens at 10am, it came at 6pm. Requested a late check out and one would expect that due to all the inconveniences coupled with the time that housekeeping actually does anything that we would be accommodated - once again, with the most unpleasant face, we were told they would have to check and let us know at 10am. Barbados is an amazing island which thrives on Tourism so please don't let this horrible hotel ruin your trip. There are many hotel options and this should be last resort - worth 1 star simply due to the fact that they had a kitchenette.
Great location - walking distance from beaches and restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent beauty parlour run by Roxanne.
The property and grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The beach is the best. Service in restaurant and bar is lacking and not customer friendly. The entire staff is solemn and seem to be unhappy.
It was ok. The wait time at the restaurant during sunday bruch is unacceptable. Thanks to the two bartenders on duty who went above and beyond to salvage my experience In addition the housekeeping was not up to standard. I stayed 3 days and bed was not made, dish in sink was not washed.
Good vibe
Great room with an ocean view. Good vibe
The front desk staff was great, friendly and very helpful. Housekeeping was a huge disappointment, the towels aren’t for adults but rather small children. The wash cloths weren’t changed and they only brought one clean towel and bath mat, only one day I received a clean hand towel. Overall the property is okay but I will not stay there again.
Good place bad food.
Accommodations were great. I do not recommend the food. We were the first at the breakfast buffet (only breakfast option) and it was cold.
Divi Southwinds stay
Stay was good. Cleanliness was good, not outstading. Pool bar poorly stocked. Dinning at pool location not available. Pureocean poor was good along with dinning. All contacts with staff was excellent, especially front desk day and night.
I loved everything about the property
The property was very convenient to all of the restaurants in St Lawrence Gap, however there was only one restaurant option and nothing on the property. Pure Ocean restaurant associated with the Divi was overpriced and food was not good. The pool areas lacked umbrellas for shade and the Pool next the beach had no umbrella's. Rooms were comfortable and staff friendly.
The Resort is decent, however there are a few things in dire need of attention. My check-in experience was incredibly lackluster with a gentleman who appeared as though he couldn't care less about my presence before him. After completing a form and taking my card, I was asked, quite cavalierly, whether I needed help to get to my room. I made no issue and responded by asking for directions and let him know that I was happy to find it on my own. The interaction wasn't unpleasant or unfriendly, just mechanical, unwelcoming and almost completely devoid of warmth. Housekeeping was a major issue for me. The sheets were not changed during my 5 night stay even when I specifically put out the sign requesting housekeeping. Another odd experience was that fresh towels were placed in my suite without removing the used ones. The location is great being on St. Lawrence Gap which boasts an impressive nightlife scene and a wide array of bars, lounges and restaurants. The distance to the airport and Bridgetown is also convenient. The food at the on site restaurant PureOcean was good and the grounds were well-maintained. The best way to sum up my experience at this hotel is 'detached'. There was no inquiry into my stay or whether I required anything... no one actually bothered with me for the 5 days I was there, which was fine with me, but odd for this particular industry.
Comfortable room. Good dinning. Great customer service.
Have been to this hotel before and had had good experience, however, this go round wasn’t great.... our room wasn’t cleaned before getting there. We didn’t have towels in our room. Also, the pool view room is significantly not as nice as the garden view room, especially in size.
Nothing I like about the property , the rooms are not clean everyday . The ac in the rooms doesn't work properly
Staff were very friendly, welcoming and did their best to accommodate us. The property is large and well kept. The wifi a little spotty at times but overall, it was a lovely stay. Also, it’s located in St.Lawrence Gap, where there is no shortage of restaurants and entertainment.
Cleanliness and pleasant staff
loked full kitchen Didnt like that convenience store on the property was only stocked with snacks and drinks instead of items like bread, milk etc.Store didnt even carry newspapers or magazines
Very disappointed this year. Room cleaned only once in 7 days.(they came around with clean towels that was it). Restaurant opened for dinner a week after arrival with 4 items on the menu. So called refurbished rooms had. broken drawers.
This is my third time staying at Divi Southwinds. I choose this hotel because of the large suites and proximity to the Gap and easy access to public transportation. The one thing that I didn’t like was that the only on-site restaurant closed at 6pm, and room service was not available. Overall, an enjoyable stay and will be back again
Great property and staff is great
My stay at Divi was wonderful. The staff made it an enjoyable stay. It would be wonderful to have a few hooks to hang up a night gown behind the bathroom door
I had a great time
Breakfast did not always start on time and is a good walk from the main rooms. All dining ends at 2:30 with no room service after that time.
Great stay
the place was much nicer than the photos on this website. Good location. I was pleasantly surprised.
Negatives: I have stayed at other Divi's and simply put this one is not worth your time. It is truly the most disorganized place. The front desk staff leave a LOT to be desired. Room wasnt ready for 2.5 hours after 4pm check-in (though we arrived at 11am). Housekeeping didnt have a vacuum so if you have carpet in your room, I would be worried about cleanliness. Pool was "meh" and no one ever at the towel service. Management couldnt care less at the front desk or at the restaurant. The breakfast was mediocre at best but shout out to Gregory that really made it a better experience! Positives: Hamilton and Darian at the beach bar. They made our vacation! They were always there to help with a smiling face and a bucket of beers. Thankfully we spent more time at the beach then we did on the property!
Stayed here before, no problems, reasonably quiet, apart from roadside, lovely grounds, friendly staff, somethings lacking ( COVID ) restaurant could do with better management, seemed disorganized, empty containers, and v.slow.
Divi Southwinds is located in a great area however the property needs some upgrades. The staff on the property are nice and friendly. I was told where the room was located and on reaching the door, there was no blue sticker (which indicates a clean check). The room directly opposite mine did have this sticker attached. After checking in to the room I noticed there was a leak under the kitchen sink and the room smelled like mould after I removed my face mask. I contacted reception about it and two maintenance workers came and reviewed the leak. I requested a room change and was told by the gentleman at the front office that I would have to wait for the Manager on duty as well as Housekeeping to authorize the room change. This eventually happened but almost 90 minutes later. How does this happen? Wasn't the room checked in the first place? Aren't Covid-19 protocols followed to ensure that a room is properly cleaned and thoroughly sanitised prior to guests arriving?
I liked the room which had a full kitchen, complimentary coffee and tea. Access to amenities for groceries and close to several restaurants and transportation were much appreciated. The frontline staff were very friendly, professional, and very thorough in providing info about the hotel. I had an issue with my internet and the maintenance person fixed it within 5 mins of my request. Now that is fast service. I also appreciated that washers and dryers were available and that washing was free. I will definitely recommend this hotel and would return here.
The layout of the suite was lovely, comfortable bed. Great property location and friendly staff.
Unimpressed
Facilities were average at best and buildings seem a bit run down. Pool looked nice and grounds were well kept. Beach across the street was also nice. Front desk was very slow and inefficient. Room cleaned every two days even if you requested it daily. Hand towels were asked for on two separate occasions and I personally had to go down to desk on a third occasion two days later to get them myself. Restaurant amenities was not as advertised on website especially with regards to the services offered. Only had a vary basic buffet for breakfast and no off menu items were allowed. No dinner served at restaurant and bar was only open to 6 pm. Restaurant/bar was off site across street and in my opinion expensive. I would not stay at this facility again.
Too much focus on COVID, too little on experience
The only focus felt like it was on COVID checks and documentation at check-in. I wasn't told about the curfew on the country and their restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch which had already passed so I spent alot of time walking around outside the resort getting lost looking for food in the wrong direction to only later find there was off site restaurants. Abit of guidance from the hotel staff would have helped. I couldn't find their own restaurant the morning after for breakfast nor could I find the beach. In the daylight! They need to focus more on the guest guidance and experience at check in. I.e the restaurant is here. You can find the beach here. Etc, etc.
I could see the beautiful layout of the property from the room which was clean and well-equipped.
