The hotel is clean and near downtown. The service was okay, but the staff was not friendly or ready to go out of their way to help.
They really need to address , their accounting unexplained charges on my credit card pending charges on my credit card that are still there
😴
Overall Good and satisfied, the lady at the reception who checked in and the lady who was in the evening helps us to print our documents. Good Service.
Love the location and that it is pet friendly.
I recently stayed at Days Inn on 14-15 September and had an unpleasant experience during check-in. The staff member who attended to me was unhelpful and informed me that I couldn’t be checked in at the desk and needed to do so online, despite being physically present at the hotel. This lack of assistance was frustrating and unprofessional. I expect a smooth and welcoming check-in process, and this experience did not meet that standard. I hope you will address this issue and ensure better service in the future.
Location is not the best. Doesn’t look nor feels clean. Old carpets and outside is full of homeless and disturbing people which makes it somehow scary. Front desk was nice and professional. I think is not a 5 star hotel might give a 2..
Very nice staff!
Mold Urine Stains had to leave and take another hotel
No cleanliness. Carpets are very dirty and smelling
I was going to cancel my stay but the staff were lovely and helpful. The room was clean but the general shabbiness of the hotel didn’t feel particularly safe.
Person vomited outside my door and it wasn’t until the next day that it was partially cleaned, after I alerted them that it had been there over the whole day. Nothing was offered as compensatory for the inconvenience. Location is central but security is lacking as there were drug addicted people near the premises and sketchy people in the parking area, who were clearly not staying at the hotel. Would not recommend.
The staff is the only reason this is not a "terrible" review. They were friendly and mostly helpful. However, our room had a partially consumed water bottle on the moldy window sill when we checked in. The corridor smelled terribly of cigarette smoke even though it is considered a smoke free hotel. We were there for two nights and the fire alarm went off twice the first night and once the second night. Not once was a fire department called to confirm that the hotel was not on fire. Their claim was that someone was smoking in their room - which was obvious from the smell - but at all hours not just between 3 and 5 a.m. when the fire alarm rang. The window in our room only mostly closed, letting in the aroma of whatever was being smoked outside. The immediate area of the hotel felt very unsafe. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel.
The carpets are visibly dirty - they look like they haven’t been cleaned since being installed (probably a long time ago). The room was clean but you could tell the walls were beaten up under the wallpaper. Staff were friendly and helpful but this place has seen better days. This is a tired hotel in a not great part of town.
The location is convenient. With safety precautions as the main entrance does not open automatically for the nin guest
Quiet convenient.
Great proximity to Byward and U Ottawa. Slightly dodgy area (after dark) but the room was clean and comfortable. Front desk was very amenable and helpful.
Did not feel safe, was a bit dirty
People working there were friendly but it was a bit dirty, the curtains didn’t cover the windows so on the ground floor people could see in, it was in a very sketchy area with street people all around. I don’t have mega high standard especially for somewhere im just going to stay for one night to put my head down but this was horrid. Despite close proximity to where we wanted to be/see this trade off wasn’t worth the terrible accommodation and location.
Room was noisy from HVAC. The towels smelled weird. Front desk staff was lovely and very helpful.
Parking lot was hard to find, but all in all its was a great hotel
stuck on ground floor
I really liked how the parking lot is fenced in which made me feel safer when I had to take my dog outside at 2 AM. It is downtown so lots of characters outside the property. I was initially confused when trying to enter the lobby to check in but I found the intercom button and I was permitted to enter the lobby. I do appreciate that the business takes care of their staff and guests’ safety. Everything I needed was within walking distance and the retro style of the building on the outside was balanced nicely in the renovated rooms. My needs are not fancy and I will defiantly be staying here again when I’m back in Ottawa
Bed too small carpet Smell and check in time, front office staff not a friendly behaviour.
I saw spider webs on top of my bed with a few spiders, the bathroom was not cleaned properly
The room was dirty. The carpet was old dirty and had a musky smell. The paint was literally peeling of the wall. Part of the walls were chipped…The drapes were not bigger enough for the windows. Taking a shower the water did not drain and was up to my ankles.
It is an old hotel with no updating. I didn’t like that there is a homeless camp set up a couple blocks from here. I just wanted a little more.
Uncomfortable bed, blood on sheets, dirty
The location is prime but as soon as you step out, you see a lot of homeless. At night this seems very scary.
Location is good. Stayed 4 nights & not once did they do the room. Had to ask for towels, tissues & toilet paper. They explained that they do not make room for the first 3 days & then only if you ask 24 hrs before. So I had to make the bed & ask for anything I needed. Trash for 5 days
Nice place for the price.
Very charming and professional staff person greeted me at checkin
Nice hotel but in a sketchy part of the city
Hotel was comfortable and clean BUT the area is scuzzy. It’s right on Rideau which is very close to the main homeless shelter in town. I witnessed 2 people have things stolen from their person in 1 day, 1 in the mall had cell phone taken, the other on Rideau had wallet stolen from backpack style purse. Do not stay on Rideau st if you want to feel safe.
The staff was friendly and provided me with good reception. However, the lobby was locked due to safety concerns in the area (drug users and homeless people). The property and room was extremely filthy and smelled like a homeless shelter. I had to cancel my booking due to the extremely bad conditions of the property and room. Stay away from this property.
Unfortunately some homeless nearby but we see in many cities. We liked shopping and restaurants nesrby
It’s close to the areas of interest.
Was in walking distance to everything I needed.
It is located in a rough area, there are a substantial amount of drug addicts on the street. There was a syringe cap in the washroom and close to 20 fruit flies in the room.
Customer service during the day was great but not in the night. The rooms are old and moldy. Needs to update the picture posted on Expedia, they are not real. In addition, coffee machine was not working.
Great location with easy walking to parliament hill with lots of choice for food. It is downtown, so lots of street people and junkies around about. Not the hotels fault.
Dead bolt was misaligned and therefore not working. Room was 120 and I reported it. EV charging station could be painted on the pavement and I hope it would avoid people to park and deprive EV owners to charge. Price is good but area looks a bit scrary
Ok
The hall ways and room had a funky smell. Room lighting is also poor .
I feel so comfortable and relaxed.
Great location for short walk to parliament!
Bathroom was broken, door wouldn’t open, you had to kick it to open. Smell of humidity inside the room.
Horrible experience, I wish I could get my money back since I couldn’t even sleep here as a solo female traveller. I left 5 hours after checking in. i was given a ground floor room that anyone could access off the street in a neighbourhood that is very uncomfortable, and the chain lock on my door was not functional at all. People outside my room smoking and staring at me, and when I told the front desk person that the chain lock was broken, she didn’t care and simply said “so you’re checking out?” I will never come back, so not stay in this hotel or neighbourhood as a single female traveller. The room itself is a bit outdated but clean enough for a budget room if you don’t look too hard.
Excellent
I liked the easy access to the area I was visiting ,after getting over a hiccup at check-in ,the manager and employee mary-ann were great people and very professional ,I would and will stay again on my next visit to the area
The hotel is okay. Shower is not good. Location is great but outside the hotel, druggies are all over the area. Safety is a bit of a concern.
Not ideal for families. Very run down and not a good location. Staff are nice, but needs updating and a good clenaing.
Staff was amazing
The fridge in my room wasn’t working properly, I mentioned it to front desk staff and it was fixed right away :D My room was also cleaned and restocked without me having to ask. Thank you <3
The bed was amazingly soft and comfortable. We liked that the air conditioner was already on in our room when we got in. The key cards were a bit finicky, but eventually worked. The toilet was a bit wobbly but nothing major. Staff were really nice and polite.
Room looks good, I stayed 2 nights they didn't clean the garbage and room. There's no floor mat in washroom and room. There's no microwave.
Badly in need of renovation
we waited more than 45 minutes to check in , to get into the rooms. First they gave 418 but that one is not locked properly , and then later they changed to 415. Very poor internet connection. There is no microwave in the whole hotel building, but they listed in the amenities
Poor cleaning
A decent property to spend a couple nights. Decently priced, close to main ottawa tourist activities and restaurants
Its not a great place to stay ! Room was below average for the price , it wasnt extremely clean ! Rented a jetted tub room most of the jets didnt work . The area is very un safe ! There were people in the parking area that were not guests pestering actual guests !
Worst service! Had a problem getting the tv to start. Call downstairs and was told to figure it out myself. They finally moved me to another room after asking them to. Problem solving is clearly a problem for the workers at the desk. The door card needed to be reprogrammed more than once. The neighbour is sketchy. Never staying here again.
Everything was pretty awful. Bed was smaller than a double. Room was dirty. Phone not even plugged in. Fitness centre machines did not work. No air conditioning in fitness room!
Poor service. Extremely long wait time to check-in. Dirty sheets. Washroom was not functional
Not sure if my bed mate was a cockroach or what it was but it was disgusting. The room was a shoe box. Horrible sleep would not recommend!!
Ottawa Stay
Clean comfortable room. Hotel was overbooked and had to settle for a sofabed as 2nd bed. Several electrical outlets not working. Many homeless outside of the hotel.
good experience
No microwave in the room
our room wasn’t clean, there was mold on the bed, stained sheets, food all over the floor
The tv in our room didn't work, called front desk, was told in a blasé tone that nothing could be done 😑. No electrician available,no offering to change room. Nothing wow. Area sucks
Area has a lot oh homeless
The room is a bit dated but the staff are friendly.
Property is dated, AC was noisy (but cold at least), WIFI didn’t work and staff were not helpful in trying to get it working. Was fine for a night, wouldn’t stay longer.
This property is in the deep inner city part of Ottawa. The hotel itself is run down well worn. Hallways are dirty and smell like smoke. Bed was clean. Furniture in the room was heavily syained. Bathroom had mold around the tub and in the grout.
Accessible to downtown ottawa
It was clean and comfortable. Parking was really a good asset. Walking distance to many attractions
Building location is great, right in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Very close to most offices and sites. You can walk over to some places and transport is very convenient. Staff is good too.
The female member of staff on reception was so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was clean and included everything needed, it was quiet and a 10/15minute walk to the parliament buildings. The only thing that lets the hotel down which isn’t the fault of the hotel is the area the hotel sits, unfortunately there are a number of homeless and drug users in the area around the hotel which doesn’t present the most pleasant of arrival when coming to stay or walking into the capital.
Staff were excellent- professional and friendly. Pretty sketchy area but always felt safe. A good value overall.
The property was absolutely disgusting
Staff was very nice. Room was clean and secured

Nothing works
Electric charger for my car did not work… Coffee machine does not work, and one of the keys for my room did not work.
We liked leaving. Was uncomfortable our entire stay. Head on a swivel.
Very bad
Staying at Days inn hotel was good experienced the hotel staff are accommodated and the location was great.
Excellent
Nous avons été très bien accueilli. La chambre était très propre. Aucun bruit. Un excellent séjour.
Hotel was in a beyond sketchy area, upon checking in There was a man outside repeatedly, banging their head on the glass outside of reception, security that was in the reception area did nothing, got to our room and there were cobwebs that were at least 2 feet long cobwebs and a layer of dust and dirt on everything and apparently a roof leak or flood at one point, because the wood cabinets were bubbling peeling under their layers of dust. We were afraid to sleep in the bed and slept on top with our clothes on for fear of getting some sort of bugs and waking up throughout the night to ensure our car hadn’t been stolen or broken into. Had we not checked in at 10 PM we would’ve looked elsewhere and for our nights rate
Sed
Poor & dirty carpet Frequently door banging when people leave their room
They canceled my reservation when I was flying there. And they charged my debit card 😡😡 I called many times to let them know that I would be there but they decided to CANCELED my reservation and CHARGED my card!!!!
Even though our room was prepaid, our king bed room suddenly wasn’t available to us at 6pm check in due to “housekeeping” We were given a queen bed room with a fold out couch that we did not need. So a smaller bed. Our floor was full of cigarette smoke & it was seeping towards our door. The screen to our window was completely ripped with a huge hole in it & the floor was noisy. I understand that staffing is low however to prepay for a room & not have it available is completely unacceptable customer service. Very disappointed & will never stay here again.
Exellent
Literally No Staff - not even at the front desk to greet guests at Check-in. Noisy (not vehicle noise) that made me uneasy all night and felt unsafe. Sorry, but not going to book this again.
I didn't care for all the homelessness people, there was alot of them.
There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in the room, very dirty in the corners of the floors in the room as well. Alot of unhoused people hanging out in front of the hotel and a fee for parking
No water for drinking
ok
hotel was ok but really run down. i actually thought the floorcwas going to cave in in the hallways
Noisy, lack of amenities
Nice courteous staff and clean environment
The property and room were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Not the best area of Ottawa but safe enough and certainly not the Hotel's problem. One negative would definitely be the pyschedelic carpet in the hallway at least on 4th floor but very satisfied.
For 3 nights and no change of towels or bedding made
