Fine for the price
Somewhere convenient to stop whilst travelling
I never slept at all. The noise was horrific right from the start and throughout the entire night, banging, upstairs noise was intolerable. Never ever again
Was clean
Decent for a quick stop off
positives: check in lady super friendly and a good selection of food available next door. Negatives: our room had a wee in the toilet from either a previous guest or the maid?! And the beds were tiny.
Clean , decent size rooms
It’s a hotel by a motorway, as long as clean and quiet it’s fine. Room is a good size and comfortable
Easy booking and check-in process. Friendly and helpful staff.
Average - did the job.
Booked this hotel last minute just as a place to rest my head. The room was big but there was no sockets near the beds or around the room, just two situated near the TV. The WiFi worked well, and the night we stayed it wasn’t very loud so had a good nights sleep.
This hotel benefits from its location close to the motorway and from its reasonable price rather than its views and surroundings. Wifi didn't work and mould in bathroom.
Such helpful staff
Great stay thank you. We didn’t arrive until 6am the following day due to our flight being delayed. The hotel staff were so helpful to us in being a me to check in late and have a late check out. Thank you
All ok
Was a room for the night on the service station. Perfectly adequate for what I was using it for. Room was clean, shower was hot. Very limited number of plug sockets to charge things but on the whole all was ok.
Very friendly and professional staff . The hotel was a bit dated and the decor and fixtures looked tired
Room smelled damp and musty when we arrived. Black mould was present in the bathroom, probably because the extractor fan over the bath wasn’t working. A lack of airconditioning meant we had to open the window which let in the noise from the nearby M4
Good price. Not a lot of other options in the area. Clean and comfortable. Based at the services. We arrived late at 11pm. But 24 hour food options immediately next door so it worked well for us.
available
furniture is really showing its age but the place was very clean and staff very welcoming
Welcoming friendly staff found them to be most helpful especially Joanne
Needs updating, needs a deep clean beds were comfy not much noise,
The property was lively. Staff very helpfull and wellcoming
Reasonable rate for a Saturday night. Easy access from M4. Macdonalds food always a winner.
I have a booking on 29/5/2024 checked out 30/2024, i have filled the forms and unfortunately i received PARKING TICKET, today i called at 11:05 to cancel the parking ticket the customer services poor
Good room but rubbish nights sleep
Room was ok and staff friendly and helpful, however bed not very comfortable at all and there was some for of generator outside the window of my room that would periodically start up so could get a solid nights sleep
Enjoyed our stay slept well, clean and comfortable. Stayed for gig at caldicot castle.
Good stay, clean basic, bed too small
There no restaurant in the hotel and only pi stop fast food next to the hotel. No elevator, room too small, no AC havt to own the window. And you can hear people talking all night.
Very convenient for local area. Facilities were ideal for a quick stopover.
Very tranquil and allowed me to rest well.
Great staff.
A convenient place , in Magor services, only 45 mins from Bristol airport. I wouldn’t normally leave a review for a service station motel, but the lady who worked the night shift last Thursday deserves a mention, as she was so friendly and helpful, despite me arriving around 2am following a delayed flight. It’s lovely to have a friendly face and warm welcome, thanks
Great stay.staff are great ,very helpful.welsh people the best.
Good
Clean and warm and quiet everything in order very nice stuff really helpful
Staff asked not to be banging doors at 3am in the morning
excellent stay
the stay was comfortable and good
Great when travelling and need to stop for the night . Vouchers to get a discount on food at travelchef.
Its amazing hotel and the staff are very friendly
Good
Lets not get carried away, this is a motorway service station hotel. But, it was warm, was clean, had a comfortanle bed, hot shower, and the staff were polite and welcoming. Cant really ask for more than that. Well done.
Good Service, most especially the receptionist.
Excellent, will definitely go back
Very convenient for onward coach journey very helpful general manager
Basic hotel. Its basic. Its fine.
Was clean tidy but dated decor and quite expensive but compfy
Stayed for a couple of nights whilst looking at properties in the area, it was convenient and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful would defo stay again!!!
Really didn't appreciate the grass being cut directly outside our room before 8am, it was a large noisy sit on mower, frustrating when there were plenty of other areas that he could of done before cutting close to the accommodation.
It is very expensive for what it is. £454 for 5 nights at a service station.
Tired
Needs a bit of modernization. Tired furnishings and wallpaper. Duvets too thin. Shower weak.
Property fine. Room clean. Did not realise that I needed to place the 'clean room' tag on door in order for the maid to clean. Corridor floors very squeaky. No 'restaurant' on site - just fast food.
Not bad place
Not a bad place to stay Nice and tidy for the money Unfortunately I had no heating in my room Room 123 first floor right at the end of the building Receptionist told me she checked heating before arrival The electric radiator didn’t work so a bit of a chilly night
Not the greatest.
Awful hotel, do not book
The room was dirty, the taps and fittings in the bathroom didnt work properly and leaked and the noise from other guests made the stay awful, booked in for 4 nights then left after 1. They also refuse to even acknowledge any form of complaint
We have severe allergy to dogs amd would like you to adopt a policy where dogs are only allowed in designated rooms. We need to be assured that there is absolutely no chance of a dog being in the room. We had to accept an assurance that no dog had been in our room so gar that week and that it was normal for dogs to be in downstairs rooms.
Great staff
Great staff comfortable room
Excellent stay
Very welcoming. Nothing was too much as working away and made feel like home. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Highly recommend
Wouldn't stay again
Paid on check-in but wouldn't provide an invoice. Also unable to print an invoice on check-out and was advised I would be sent one via email. This never arrived so had to chase to finally get an invoice. Must say though that Lizzie at head office was very helpful
Our stay was great from start to finish, the lady at the desk was more than helpful and went out of her way to help.. would definitely use this hotel again. Also best night sleep I've had
Avoid
Avoid if you want to sleep . Booked two nights but only stayed for one due to lack of sleep . Situated in a Services, the car park was filled with young lads reviving their cars , drug deals , screeching round the carpark . Headlights shining into the room windows . Started at 11 and finished at 3.30 am . All parked right outside the hotel front doors . Staff not interested .
Nice but would not recommend
Helpful, friendly staff. Uncomfortable kingsized bed, springs dug into you. The heating kept clicking each time it got up to the required temperature, but you had to have it on all night due to the poor fitting double glazing. It also meant you were woken at 5am by the traffic on the main road.
It is not quiet enough because the shops and fast food restaurants are too close. Early in the morning, workers talk loudly under the window so you can’t sleep. The parking lot is small and too crowded.
Excellent value for money, much better than travel lodge. Great they allow pets.
Broken bedside table, just one towel for two people, no sofa bed made up despite phoning in morning, everything felt tired. Broken lights in corridor meant you could not even see where to put your key in door. Bed hard as nails and sofa bed even worse. Pillows were awful and smelt
Ok for a stopover
Easily accessible and free parking. Room was ok but the sofa beds were very hard for the children. But as a stopover it was fine and mcdonalds next door.made breakfast easy!
Tired Hotel
The entire hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. It looks as if it is the original fixtures and fittings from when it was first built, probably 30+ years ago. Room was not properly clean with dirt/hairs on the sink. Receptionist was cheerful and with a warm greeting.
Welsh Rarebit
Good value for money, very friendly and helpful staff
Bedsheet wasn’t clean..Bathroom was terrible…There was lots of dust in toilet and in the cattle..
Well handy
N amongst the motorway services, everything you need to hand and surprisingly quiet! No road noise
The room etc was not too bad. The stairs were very difficult for me
There was no plugs near bed to charge mobile… bed mattress was not comfortable… difficult to see receptionist
Awful
We arrived at 11pm, receptionist was lovely but on arrrival to the room what a disappointment. There was no toilet roll in the bathroom, and no towels so a trip back to reception to ask for them. Then we found a live slug in one of the beds along with some dubious stains on the bedding. Final insult was the 2 mugs that were provided with the kettle were dirty and full of the previous occupants cold tea. Clearly the room had not been cleaned properly. To be fair the price was cheaper than other properties in the area but there is a minimum standard I would expect and this fell short of that. The family slept in our clothes on top of the beds and we left as soon as we woke without braving the shower facilities. Never again!
there was a problem that was upsetting. Instead of fourth bed there was a mattress on the floor which wasn’t mentioned when I booked the room. It made it difficult as it was quite late when we booked in and very tired and no one wanted to sleep there! :( I would like to hear about this from Days Inn. Thanks
Get what you pay for
You get what you pay for in this Hotel. The staff are amazing and work incredibly hard to make your stay as comfortable as posible. Its just a shame that senior management dont seem to see that and have put no investment in the hotel for what seems years. There where many apliences in our room with Danger do not use stickers attached. Not great when you have a young family.
Dirty.
Dirty - black mould around bath, food on floor that wasn’t ours and used cups upon entering the room. They also allow dogs in the property (fellow guests walking them in the halls) and now that we have come home covered in bites (our trip was to an event indoors in a church so didn’t get bitten anywhere except the hotel) we are questioning what on earth has bitten us from the room as the window was closed. In the covid age when cleaning & hygiene is supposed to be top standard our experience is concerning.
Value for money
Good value for money
So so place
Greeted very well and quickly . Beds fsr too small . Arrived late so ate sandwich on the tables provided just outside entrance and saw over 10 rats around the bushes . No vleaning / sweeping done at end of day .
Welcoming staff at reception, but the room only had towels and teamaking facilities for one person, not two.
The room had sofa bed without bedding and main bed very uncomfortable
Horrible
My stay never happen, we arrived at the hotel after a long day and very tired to found out that hotel's.com did not make a reservation for the 3 room's I have paid for £157(around £52 per room) only one room was available to accommodate 6 people... Not happy at all ...no solution was given so we had to spend more money in other place to stay
It was an old drab room with lights that flickered, a bathroom that smelt damp, wall paper was peeling off the walls whilst carpet was pulling off the floor. The room was lower standard of a hostel but the price of a good quality hotel.
Convenient location for our visit.
All ok
Ok for the money
It’s a good place for a stop in between places, very basic and a bit dated with the odd thing broken, but was an okay stay. And staff were pleasant.
good
Nice and quiet place nice to stay there. Good, good luck days inn
Business Visit
I had to get a letter to prove I was a key worker which is fair enough when I got to the hotel the receptionist did her job she didn’t do a bad job but didn’t do a good one either she did what she needed to. The room was good for £35 a night the only issue I have is the shower head was gunky and broken so the jet wasn’t very good plus the pressure was poor
Basic Room was a little hot and I struggled with the stairs being an ex miner
total disgrace and dirty place.
As you’ll see from the photo, this place is a disgrace and unfit to be let really. The bathroom floor is in such a state that you need to keep your shoes on to feel safe, it’s all cracked and shrivelled up,and judging by the dirt in it, it’s been that way for a while! The door was all battered where it looks like someone has tried to break in, the door needed forcing shut, with the risk of being trapped because the handle was hanging off. Even in low light I could see the carpet was filthy. The mattress was very uncomfortable and when checked it, it was quite dirty and the date shows it is 14 years old. All in all, one of the worst places I’ve stayed in.
Convenient, but shabby
One would have hoped that the standards set by Premier Inn would mean that the other budget chains would raise their game. Alas, not in this case. Situated in a service area on the M4, convenience is probably it's main selling point. The whole place needs refurbishment. Our room was tatty, the beds uncomfortable, the bath very small, the hot tap stuck, etc. etc. Looking at the rest of the place I have no reason to suspect other rooms were any better. Staff were friendly enough though.
ou get what you pay for.
Stayed for three nights and no room service at all. Double mattress on a king size base - what's that about? On plus side, good location and very friendly and helpful staff.
Wyndham windup
When we arrived there was no receptionist there,I pressed the call button and at least 10 minutes passed before I was attended. The bed was uncomfortable as the mattress was too soft. The carpet needed vacuuming. Next day I went to reception to check on the breakfast deal, nobody there again, so I proceeded to the breakfast area. The receptionist was there.
A few minor things but not a bad stay overall
Upon checking in I had the option to go upstairs or downstairs which was good so I opted for upstairs. There were a couple times I could hear people making a noise in the hallway in the evening. With regards to my actual room; a lot of the channels didn’t work on the tv so I could only watch bbc, the taps in the bathroom were stiff and had to be turned off really tight so they weren’t constantly running slightly, the flush on the toilet was really weak so sometimes had to be flushed a few times and lastly the door to the room was hard to close on the outside because it didn’t have a handle to pull down I had to use the little metal pull by the keyhole and pull on it really hard to close it and when it did close it made a really loud noise which wasn’t ideal at 7am. Apart from those things everything else was fine, clean, new towels and bed made everyday. Receptionist checking me in was friendly but I don’t remember her name.
Family visit
We stayed here while visiting family. The room was a good size with a comfy bed, couch and dressing table. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The room was fairly clean though quite large cobwebs on the light fittings above the bed
It was good.
Nice hotel, good price and in a good position.
Great welcome. One room had hair in the shower and on a towel.
Took ages to come to desk, staff looked like they had been asleep it was 8.30pm did not have booking didn’t really know what he was doing
Rooms were filthy when we checked in. Staff had to go and clean them whilst we went out. Chewing gum on carpets, rusty shower rails, milk in room was off. Had to move rooms on 2nd night due to a leaking roof!!
Hot room front facing first floor and very noisy a
I was with my family with 2 children 5&9. The room allocated to us was on the first floor on the front facing sun. So it was very hot inside the room and there was no fans air conditioning etc. I have asked the staff if we can swap the room as I have small children with me.As our next door 105 have swapped to back faciny cooler room but unfortunately the answer was no!And the bathroom tub was not clean.
I had two TV sets in my room and neither of them displayed a picture. Additionally the chain on the room door couldn’t be used
Handy location
Very lovely staff a bit nosey someone above me walkin g around untill1 30.am im a light sleeper so was disturbed also from room can here car park and people talking in car park
Good value budget hotel
Good value for money for a budget hotel but like others they inflate the prices when they get busy. Nice and quiet (i was sleeping in the day as on nights)
The cleaning was not very good and there was no service they don't provide much. One of the toilet doors were a bit broken. There were no fans or air-conditioning. Although it was quite and peaceful and staff were welcoming.
McDonald's and a servace station breakfast Donse not count as 2 restronts and some cans from behind the reseption is not a bar
Being a regular user of quality hotels this is old and to be quite honest expensive for the condition of the inherited Travelodge facility. It smells, its mouldy in places, carpets are worn, the beds are small and the bath is a joke, along with poor maintained shower heads, taps, toilet and basin. I stay here for convenience to where I need to be for one of my contracts, but it is overpriced and desperately needs renovation.
